Hey hey! Name's Bones, I'm generally cool with any pronouns, though my primary ones are She/He/It!
First and foremost, I must warn, I generally stray towards darker n' more mature storylines in terms of what I look for, and as such, I'm very unlikely to roleplay with someone who is a minor. This is largely because I do not want to cause undue stress to someone who is not prepared to deal with said topics! This also serves as a warning to those who perhaps just want more lighthearted stories.
Additionally, please keep in mind that I am a pretty busy individual, and I may sometimes disappear for days or weeks on end without explanation. This is often not because I am disinterested, it is only because something came up that I'm having to focus on. I may try to give warning, but my work is unpredictable. As such, I ask for patience, and I will also give you patience if you do the same!
Warnings aside!
I try to be fairly friendly, so please don't be afraid to approach or talk to me outside of roleplay, it's perfectly welcome and preferred! I have a very deep love for worldbuilding and collaborative storytelling, and will often do background world expansion on any storyline I'm doing, whether fandom or not. My absolute favorite stories tend to be centered on dystopian fantasy, often with human/mortal x inhuman pairings. I do love me some strange interactions, truly I do. Especially with religious undertones!
Additionally, I am an artist, and as such, if I'm connected to a roleplay or set of characters, I will often draw them or scenes that happen if I feel particularly inspired!
Now, with introductions aside, let's get to plots and some vague requirements!
Vague Guidelines
- Darker-toned stories! I'd like of course to have lighter or even absolutely happy/soft scenes, such is the nature of good stories, but I do enjoy the uncomfortable, painful, or horrifying realities of the world affecting the characters.
- Unless otherwise stated, I generally prefer F/NBxM/NB when it comes to romantic pairings! Additionally, I do prefer slow-burn and gradually building relationships, even (or especially if) one is much more interested in romance than the other!
- I'm perfectly happy with some plot elements being strange or even generally uncomfortable from a moral standpoint, just talk to me first!
- Please generally be literate, write in the third person, and have the ability to drive the story! I don't mind writing style as long as these three things are met!!
- Please be ghosting-friendly, as I said, I'm a busy person ;; (And of course, if you leave unexpectedly, I will not at all be upset!)
- My pairings are always listed as Your Character x My Character
- (Original) Stygian
- (Original) Lamb in a Lion's Den
- (Fandom) Cult Of The Lamb
- (OC) Placeholder + Other Offers
Many generations ago, the sky went dark following some of the most horrific wars the planet had seen and the landscape became barren. No one knows what the supercity's name was before it was put under eternal night, but the populous-given name of "Stygian" seems to have stuck.
Stygian's current state is hellish to live in, even if you have immense amounts of money and status. Though, the rich of course convince themselves otherwise.
The city has four districts. The Neon District (the rich), the Kings District (high-brow crime), the Beetle District (the working class), and the Styx District (those who reject society but will not leave).
There are other cities within Stygian's vicinity, but they are quite difficult to get to due to the hostile landscape, never mind the higher government of Stygian expressly forbidding it.
The current government has been moving to get Stygian "back under control", finally doing something about the near anarchy that the city has been living under. They have some sense in believing that letting Stygian be run solely by the people is slowly killing them. Still, their end goals are not quite realistic or healthy, given that they are all familiar with the "perfect" (read, extremely flawed) Neon District.
They made a set of highly specialized robots (dubbed "The Six") intended to tackle different areas of the city's infrastructure (economy, police force, medical infrastructure, etc), with a robot named "Pal" acting as the leader of sorts. However, the circumstances around the building of these robots are shrouded in mystery, with most of the engineering team being nowhere to be found. Their implementation is controversial at best, and inciting an uprising at worst.
Within the depths of the Kings District, a woman by the name of Bolts lives as a commission-based mechanic. She's known as being one of the best mechanics in the area, but infamous for her foul temper and unwillingness to barter with her prices. She's intimidating for most, but her work is well worth it and may attract the occasional lone robot seeking repairs.
Hailing as one of the Six, Vel embodies the title of "Chief of Investigations" to the letter, though it doesn't seem that he actually cares that much. All that occupies his programmed mind is the task of investigation. The case of the missing engineering team has been difficult to solve, and the added pressure from Pal has made him relentless. But one individual keeps grabbing his attention... irritatingly.
The youngest, scorned child of the Cawthorne family... that is how she once labeled herself.
And to a certain extent, the label still hangs heavy in her conscience, floating in the blood of her murdered kin. However, she chooses to ignore it even as it gnaws at the back of her mind.
Though the method that led to Abia becoming the head of the Cawthorne house was... less than ideal, controversial even, she's done well to hide it. A silent part of her puts pride in doing it while navigating the cumbersome task of wrangling the trade deals her family had.
However, one loose end remains, one that tugs relentlessly at her conscience.
A priest, one that her family had made quite the deal with in full awareness of the power of the Church. His assistance in hiding their more... illegal dealings, while in they would pay him back in grand amounts of money and free access to their trade routes.
Something about him always unsettled Abia, however, and she can't help but feel that he knows what she did. So why wasn't he saying anything?
The sects of the Old Faith aren't particularly known for supporting insubordination. They learned their lesson with that long ago when Narinder turned against them.
So, it came as a silent surprise to Ferox that they weren't being disposed of for their... unintended defiance. Leshy had been quite vocal and irate about how difficult it was to keep them on a leash. How irritating it was to keep them from murdering their fellow followers, such inconvenience when murders occurred anyway.
It wasn't just him either. Higher priests had grown impatient with their bullheadedness, other followers treated them with an air of prejudice. Not that Ferox blamed them.
To add further bewilderment, it was the Bishop of War of all gods that Leshy instead pawned them off to. The concept didn't surprise them, they were a warrior to begin with, but... the fact that they'd even accepted?
Ferox had to wonder what they wanted. Especially in a time when their domain was being called upon.
Currently don't have other plots I'm considering!
However, I am interested in stories such as Black Butler, TF2, Hollow Knight, Undertale, The Dark Crystal, and IHNMAIMS. If you have story offers that are in these worlds or have similar vibes to them, please feel free to message me!
