Wish Upon An Owl (Disney x Harry Potter FanFiction)

NessieAlways

da bomb diggity
Hey guys!

So a couple of days ago I came across what I found to be the best thing ever. A Disney x Harry Potter Crossover! I was planning of making a RP on it, but I realized that in making an RP I give up some of the control as a writer and can't shape and form the story to my hearts content. So, in order to please my own Disney x Harry Potter fantasies, I decided to make my first ever fanfiction! Yay! I might end up doing a RP later on, but for now, I'm in charge xD

So this will basically be Disney/Pixar Characters + Jack and Hiccup attending Hogwarts.

Not all the Characters will be mentioned, but I'll try to get as many as I can in there.

If it ever gets to a point were I want to bring the tri-wizard tournament, I might bring in the animal/object characters.

As of now, aside from the Sensational Six there's no other animal characters.

(I actually added some more, but not sure if I'll end up writing them in or leaving them out)

Okay so before I post here are a few things about me and my writing:

  • Please PM me all comments/critiques/suggestions/feedback. I'd like to keep this thread as neat as possible.
  • Constructive criticism is welcomed/requested! I consider myself to be an amateur writer so anything and everything helps!
  • Don't worry about criticism being too hard. I was a theater student and, in my opinion, criticism doesn't get worse than acting critiques. *Shiviers*
  • If I have a few grammar errors feel free to point them out. Grammar hasn't always been my strong suit, so I apologize in advance.
  • Let me know your opinions on the characters, story, interactions, etc. I'm basing myself off of Disney characters, obviously, but I might end up changing several things such as ages and personalities as the story progresses in order to fit everything together.
  • I love hearing suggestions and feedback so please don't hesitate on stating your thoughts!

I think that's it for now. So far I've only got a small introduction written out and the first part of the story. I hope to add on with time and see where this goes!

Thank you all for your time!

"Bampots" Merida DunBroch murmured under her breath as Harris, Hubert, and Hamish raced around with their luggage carts through the London train station.

Merida DunBroch, a tomboyish, sixteen year old, red head with untamable curly hair and a great sense of adventure , is the daughter of a pureblood family straight from Scotland. She first heard about Hogwarts when she was just a little girl. Her mother raised her hoping she'd grow into an admirable young woman with a great legacy behind her, but Merida's free spirit was a toll on the poor woman. As Merida grew older, she and her mother began to clash with differences in opinion. Merida was tough and defiant, qualities her mother didn't categorize as lady like. When Merida received her letter to Hogwarts she saw this as an opportunity to get away from her over controlling mother. Her mother saw it as an opportunity to get her around some wizards of her own age and possibly find Merida a future husband. Though their ideals on the school were entirely different, Merida still showed up at that train station every first of September with an eager smile on her face. Well that was the case until this year.

"Honey it's not nice tae say those things." Elinor DunBroch, Merida's mother, mentioned overhearing her daughter's comment. "Ye should be happy that yer brothers will be joinin' ye in school." Elinor smiled looking over at her younger children. The three little red heads were getting very annoyed looks from the muggles passing by. They would give the kids dirty looks and then shift their glances to Elinor and shake their head in disapproval. Elinor ignored their stares and murmurs about parents being more controlling of their children. What did they know about raising wizards?

Elinor was a tall slender woman with fair skin and long brown hair. A streak of grey hair ran down her side making her appearance wise and elderly, but her facial structure was kind and caring. Of course this woman was not to be taken for granted. She had a stern side to her. One that was not to be messed with. With a murderous glance, all it took was one look for Elinor to take control.

"Eh Happy? I'm elated!" Merida replied sarcastically pushing along a cart of her own and rolling her eyes. The only worse thing about having her parents still drop her off was the fact that the terrible trio wasn't going back with them. They'd be joining her on the train to Hogwarts. It wasn't that Merida disliked her brothers. She loved them. The only problem was their hyper activeness. She had formed a home away from home at Hogwarts. A place where she didn't have to worry about cleaning up after her brothers and always taking the blame for their actions. Having her triplet brothers invade her personal space was not what Merida needed.

"Merida." Her mother said strictly.

"Mother." She replied with sass.

"FERGUS!!!" Running up from behind, a massive looking man with curly red hair and beard pushed himself between Merida and Elinor shouting and laughing. "Ahahaha!" Fergus kept running with a wide grin on his face, passed the two ladies, and chased behind the three boys who only laughed and picked up their pace. The people around stared in fear at the large man chasing behind the three scrawny looking children. Many of them trembled away from his path, others even sped away. Merida, not needing any further family humiliation, lowered her burning red face in shame and shut her eyes trying to make them go away.

"Fergus, please. Ye'll scare away the muggles." Elinor said smirking at her husband trying to suppress herself from blowing up. Unlike Merida, Elinor was able to control her emotions. She remained calm and approached situations strategically even though all she wanted to do was throw something at them and make them behave.

"Don't worry me wifie. We're jist havin' some fun." Fergus shouted back to Elinor who in the meantime lifted Merida's chin up and straightened out her back to walk tall and proud.

"Mom nae " Merida let go of her cart with one hand to slap her mother's hand away, but Elinor was able to grab hold of it before she struck her. Merida looked at her mother angrily and tried yanking her hand away, but it was no use. "Let go!"

"Nae Merida. Control yerself. "

"Let go!"

Once again Merida yanked her hand hard, this time escaping Elinor's grasp. She grabbed hold of the cart squeezing the metal between her palms until they were white. Her expression was still sour and worst of all, her back was slouching again and her chin was down. Elinor let out an exasperated sigh and placed her hand oh her temple.

"What am I goin' tae do with ye?"

Merida ignored her mother and continued walking in silence also ignoring the laughter and chattering from her brothers and father who, by the looks of it, had gone completely oblivious to the entire situation between her and her mother.

As the DunBrochs approached platforms nine and ten Harris, Hubert, and Hamish became uncontrollable.

"I want tae go first!"

"Nae me!"

"Nae I'm doin' it."

"Don't push me."

"Stop shovin' "

"Let me gei through!"

Pushing turned to shoving and before Fergus could get a hold of his kids, they were already brawling on the floor. Flashes of their red curly hair appeared every once in a while as the boys tossed and tumbled on the floor. Elinor's face grew red in anger as she slowly inhaled and exhaled trying to keep calm. Her eye's dilated, her eyebrows rose exponentially and even her nostrils flared.

"Enough!"

The three boy's stopped immediately each quickly standing back up, dusting themselves off, and reuniting with their briefly abandoned carts. Fergus looked between his children and his wife, his face in both awe and fear. After a couple of glances a bright smile formed on his face and he walked over to stand next to Elinor.

"That reit kids! Listen to yer ma!"

Fergus rose his arm to drape around Elinor but she glared at him menacingly. He quickly dropped his arm back to his side fearing this side of his wife and cleared his throat.

"Er reit. Merida will go first. Merida…"

Fergus looked around for his daughter, but she wasn't next to her mother anymore.

"Merida?"

He looked over to the wall between platform 9 and 10 hearing the sound of wheels rolling on pavement, but only managed to catch a glimpse of Merida's red curls disappearing through the portal.

"Eh! This lassie gonna gi'e us a heart attack."

The luggage cart rolled through the paved station floor as Merida grumpily made her way to the luggage compartment to drop off her belongings. She kept mumbling to herself profanities involving her dimwitted brothers, her childish father, and her over exaggerating mother. She was fed up with all five of them and could really go for some quiet time alone. Being in a bad mood was nothing new for Merida. Her hot-headed nature was known all throughout Hogwarts. The scrunched up eye brows, low mumbling, and constant Scottish swearing were the indications that Merida was in one of her moods. As she walked by students moved out of her way clearing the path in front of her obviously not wanting to get caught under her thunderous cloud.

With her luggage on board all that was left to do was find a quiet compartment in the train where Merida could happily rest in silence. As she began walking to the front of the train she spotted three red heads bouncing up and down between the crowd. "Shoot." Merida panicked at the sight of her brothers knowing that following them would be a very flabbergasted mother. Merida stopped straight in her path causing a first year behind her to crash into her. She turned to spot a little black haired girl with candy accessories in her hair. "Hey watch were your going stinkbrain!" Merida turned looking down at the little brat that dared call her a stinkbrain. Her glare would have made anyone curl up in fear, but the little girl stood her ground glaring right back at Merida although her stare was more a combination of adorable and menacing. "Listen brat I don't know who you think you are but-"

"MERIDA!"

The sound of her mother's daunting voice send a chill down Merida's spine. She turned around to see her mother stomping towards her, the little girl forgotten. In that brief moment, Merida knew she was a goner. Her red curls would be dragged back out the portal, into the car, and away from Hogwarts. A huge sense of regret crossed Merida, hating herself for having walked away on her parents. Merida stood unblinking watching her furious mother get closer. Her mind was already hearing the thundering screams of her mother and feeling the burning pain running down her ear as she was dragged away from the train. Merida closed her eyes wincing as her mother stopped a couple of feet in front of her mentally preparing herself for the storm, but, only, it didn't come.

"Mrs. DunBroch! You look lovely today! Did you do something to your hair?"

Merida's eye opened to find Aladdin Ali between her and her mother. He was bowing towards Merida's mother with his hand on hers and gently kissing the back of her hand. He was always a charmer. Finding his way out of every situation, something he picked up from living in the streets.

"You three should be elated to have such a wonderful mother and Mr. DunBroch, congratulations. You don't find a lady as fine as this roaming around nowadays."

Merida rolled her eyes getting the feeling that Aladdin was over doing it now. Aladdin and Merida had met their first year at Hogwarts after being sorted in the same house, Gryffindor. With her tendency of getting into trouble and his skills of getting out, they became an inseparable duo. Merida would provide the adventure in the relationship and Aladdin the scapegoat. He was amazing at saving her butt, much like he was doing now. Listening back to the conversation, Merida seemed to have missed a whole lot. Her mother's fury was now gone and replaced by a coy smile.

"I'll take good care of her and your little triplets this year Mrs. DunBroch! You can count on it! Best be going now. Don't want to miss the train."

Aladdin grabbed hold of Merida's arm and dragged her towards the train. Although she was grateful for his rescue, Merida's stubbornness was not going to let him know that.

"If yer expecting a thanks, yer not gettin' it."

"I know, but you owe me."

"Ah nae. I don't do favors."

"I'm not going to ask for a favor" His eyes widened knowing exactly what he wanted in return. A mischievous smile grew on his lips as Merida figured out his thoughts and gawked.

"Nae! Absolutely not! Yer not taking me broom!"

For the longest time, Aladdin had been trying to borrow Merida's broom. She owned the best broom in entire Gryffindor quidditch team. Practice after practice, Aladdin asked, begged, pleaded, and even got Flynn to help him steal it, but in the end all attempts were futile.

"Oh but you owe me!"

"I don't owe ye squat!"

As the two friends argued they made their way into a compartment on the train with two of their other friends, Mulan and Shang, the brand new couple in the Gryffindor house. Mulan, a half blood Gryffindor, met Merida her second year of school before boarding the train. Much like Merida, Mulan was escaping her parents. Mulan wanted to follow her own path and become a wizard like her father, but both her parents believe that the art of magic was for males only, so they prohibited her from going to Hogwarts. Despite their demands, Mulan dressed up as a boy and fled from home. She met Merida in the station when they bumped into each other. Mulan, being a first year at the time, was looking for the train and Merida, second year, was running away from her worried parents again. For three years Mulan crossed dressed as Ping, an awkward Gryffindor boy, until headmaster Michael Mouse figured out her secret.

Shang was a different story. Shang is a pureblood from an elite auror lineage. He was told he would follow the steps of his father and take on the family legacy. Shang however failed to have the strong front his father insisted in. He was more compassionate and trusted people too much for his own good. There were rumors about him having weird tendencies, especially when it came to men. The rumors only expanded as his and Mulan's relationship developed into something serious. She was a fourth year student and he was a sixth year. Although he claimed to know her secret all along, people still say he was disappointed when Mulan turned out to be a girl.

"Hey guys! Watch out Merida is in a mood."

Mulan and Shang both looked towards the two people who just walked into the room.

"What was it this time? First years asked you where to go?" Mulan teased

"Cold." Aladdin replied.

"Oh she got stuck in traffic" Shang shouted.

Mulan and Aladdin looked at him oddly. Shang shrugged thinking it was a very plausible explanation seeing as it had happened to him.

"You're lucky you're cute." Mulan mumbled disappointed by Shang's brightness or lack there of.

"Very cold…" Aladdin continued shanking off the mental picture of Shang and Mulan together. It was weird seeing a guy who was previously categorized as a homosexual having an open relationship with a woman. And it was even weirder seeing Mulan as a girl. He and Ping had shared deep connections and now realizing Ping was a she, well let's just say the bro code didn't define what to do in those situations. Dying from anticipation, Aladdin finally decided to tell everyone the big news. "The triplets will be attending Hog-OW!" Aladdin stopped mid sentence as Merida pounded him on the head with her fist.

"Ye can't keep yer mouth shut can ye lad?" She stomped over to Mulan and took a seat next to her glooming over the fact that her brothers were in fact in the same school as she was. Mulan dropped an arm around Merida.

"Oh come on it can't be that bad."

"Bite me."

Conversations continued in the compartment swaying from different topics as time went by. Merida, for the most part, stared out the window sulking making Aladdin feel like a third wheel when Mulan and Shang had their weird bonding moment where both parties would go back and forth in dialogue. He had the nerve to break it up a couple of times and remind the two that he was still in the room, but after several times he gave up completely and abruptly changed the conversation. He'd look over at Merida periodically for support but she might as well not even have been in the train. Aladdin rolled his eyes and tried to keep himself entertained with Mulan and Shang.
