Fandom Winx Club Small Group Interest Check

Hello there! I've been wondering how many people still have any sort of interest or nostalgia for Winx Club, so I decided to actually check. This is also based in the lore of the original 3-4 seasons and not the Netflix adaptation or later seasons of the show.

What I'd like to RP:

• Please be 18+
• A small group of 3 to 6 people where we each double up for each other's love interests
  • Essentially what I mean by this is...
    • Person B plays Person A's love interest -> Person C plays Person B's love interest -> Person A plays Person C's love interest; etc.
    • Also, please be okay with gay/bisexual characters. Even if no one wants a same-gendered relationship for their pairing, I at the very least like to have bisexual characters. And I want everyone to feel safe and comfortable if this Roleplay is to happen.
• Casual-Literate, where post length can range between a paragraph to a short story, depending on what's needed in a scene
• Takes place outside of the time of the Winx, so the focus is on the world and characters, rather than the characters and plot of the show
  • I was imagining something like the time of Alfea's founding, a hundred or more years prior to the start of Winx Club (so, before the destruction of Domino/Sparks and its people), or a hundred or more years following the events of Winx Club.
• We all have characters who are students of Alfea and either band together to form a group or are all just friends
  • I'm also totally not opposed to anyone wanting more than a main and a love interest to play. Could be fun to have some witches or enemies that are active characters, as well.

If you ever decide you're not interested in it anymore, that's completely fine. I'm assuming you're referring to the length of time the RP would go on for in-world (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about that). I think it would majorly depend on the people involved in the RP and what year they would want their character to be in (if we don't have everyone start at 16). If the group is all feeling up for continuing the RP this long, I'd be fine continuing the RP through all 3 years of school at Alfea, but it's not a requirement by any means.

Ahhhh, I understand now. I was thinking it would still be modern. That also is dependent on when we decide to do it. If it's during Victorian Earth years or after the events of Winx Club, I was imagining it still being very modern. But, if we're doing something that's closer to the founding of Alfea, the world would be very different, of course. Alfea is described as an ancient school, though I don't think it would be far enough back to enter Victorian-ish or Medieval-ish times.

It is! I haven't made an other threads for it yet since I wasn't sure about how many people would be interested. I'll get some stuff set up soon though, since there's enough interest to actually do it now.

I alresdy have two characters for this that I would love to use. They were made for a winx thread that never really got moving, so I hope that is okay if I bring them in.

I think it would be interesting to see the school after the Winx CLub, to see a group of fairies trying to make their own name in the school and trying not to get constantly compared to the Winx Club. Plus if there have been any developments in magic we can really create new bad guys if we want, and really build new things for the lore. I don't know, that is just me.

There is this art blog I love that made Winx redesigns and really explore the alien aspects of the group and I just thought that was really and possibly very fun to explore!

I’m just wondering that if we do have our group compared to them, what would be the reason and why could this stir annoyance?

So far the only reason is that I’m thinking that maybe Alfea created some sort of Winx program where their descendants or the top students of the school are trained to be the next defenders of magic like them or something yet due to the peace that the Winx has ushered, these groups have nothing to fight, being forced to meet these high standards only to still be considered lesser then since they never had that danger to protect everyone else from.

Or maybe our group just got involved in stopping on great evil and thus were immediately placed on that pedestal and held to the high standards

Or at least those are a few suggestions. I just really like the idea of our main characters gaving

Alright, I am awake now and can now contribute better ideas to the group pool. I do love the idea of exploring deeper into the planets that the show introduced, but I also think that it could be fun to introduce new planets and such into the mix. I may be biased in that because the characters I will most likely be bringing into this thread have planets that I have made up and am sort of still developing. That might just be me though. I don't know I just really like the idea of being able to add to the lore and make some new stuff for the characters to explore.

I think it would be to possibly explore some more alien aspects of the different planets. I always found it a bit strange and unique that Aisha/Layla's cousins were mermaids, like how does that work and why is that way. It would be interesting to see if they would gain any advantages depending on what planet they are from. Like if they were from a constantly cold planet, they may not be affected by cold envoriments on other planets.

As for setting I do agree with it possibly taking place 80 to 100 years after the Winx Club. That way their story and life are still significant and somewhat fresh. I feel like the Winx set a high standard for all fairies after them, because not only did they defeat multiple evils that had plagued Magix for years. They also tapped into powers that many people thought were legend. To had onto that they broke the curse of Sirenix and brought someone back from the dead essentially. Can you imagine how hard it would make your story after a group of people like the Winx. I can see there being pressure coming from multiple different sources. For example, the character's parents might compare their child to Winx. If they come from the same planet as one of the Winx girls, then there might be expectations to be like them.

I really like Stitches idea of Alfea having created a Winx program for some of the top students to participate in. I am leaning towards our characters not being the children of the Winx, but our kids could be competing with the kids of the Winx. I don't know it sounded better in my head, but I thought I would throw it out there as a possible idea.

I can imagine the stress they would feel from having to fight an evil that appeared. Maybe they weren't even trying to get involved, but they do and then they get tossed into the spotlight.

I think it would be nice to have a mix of planets that we've seen before and others that have been created. It could add a nice balance of new and old to our RP, but I think it's really up to what everyone wants individually.

I absolutely adore the idea of there being some sort of a Winx program at Alfea now. Perhaps it was even created in partnership with the Winx some years after their time at Alfea? Some of the students could feel pressured to live up to what the Winx were and despise them for it while others idolize the group and wish to become like them. So, not only do other people want to see more students rise to be like the Winx, but some students could have ambitions of doing so themselves.

I think it would be good if our students aren't automatically thrown into this Winx program, but they do something of significance early on in the RP that the school's headmistress would ask them if they wanted to join the program or possibly the program is a secret at first and the teachers are secretly testing the girls if they actually have the potential to fully join the program. I also wanted to add that while I don't want to do a next gen type of RP, I think it could still be fun to have some cameo appearances of the Winx's children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren. Maybe the daughter of one of the girls is the current headmistress, for example?

Also, just a warning. I've only seen summaries of seasons beyond season 4, so I haven't actually seen season 5 and the storyline of the Sirenix. I have a vague idea of what happens because I've watch YouTube videos of the seasons beyond season 4, but my knowledge of the season and beyond is very limited.

i agree with pride, perhaps mostly because my characters are also from universes that i made myself. though one of my characters can easily be adapted to tecna's world and the other one to musa's, so....i suppose its not too much of an issue for me. i still really dont like the idea, it restricts what i can do with the worlds, and the one that would fit in titania would have to be directly related to tecna to keep her backstory.

pride already knows what my characters are, but i suppose i should ask if theyre okay. i wanted to play a trans female specialist whos trying to become a fairy and a witch thats a sort of "cultural exchange student", she probably wont actually become a fairy but she wants to figure out how it works. would that be okay?

I finally got an OOC thread up, you can find it here. I'd like to hear about everyone's character ideas in OOC, if that's alright. I want to get a thread up today for character sheets as well, but I need to get a sense of what ideas we're working with so I can put something together that works for everyone. Unless everyone wants to create their own character profiles, then that would work as well! We should also discuss more about the group dynamic we're going for and plot-related things. I love Necromantic's character ideas and I think it's important that everyone gets to include the type of characters they want.
