Windia Adventures

AllHailDago

Rough Tough Creampuff
Name: Gadren [gad ryhymes with dad, ren rhymes with pen] Elusei [like elusive, but with a at the end]

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Height: 6' 4"

Weight: 240 lbs

Personality: Gadren is actually the polite and gentle half of the best friend pair between he and Flare. He couldn't bring harm to anyone, or at least hasn't been able to so far in his life. He tends the gardens and plants around Genetia Village with the elderly residents. He is often soft spoken, ridiculously so for someone his size. Despite this he has a overwhelming desire to learn and explore anywhere he can, which is why he always goes along with Flare. He greatly respects all of his elders, and acts as a example to the children in the village. He is very in touch with nature, having befriended many pokemon around the village. Now all he desires is to finally leave, and start the journey he should have years ago. He may or may not have a crush on Flare.

History: When Gadren was young he went on a trip to a nearby cave with his parents. They were famed explorers that originally came from Genetia Village, and that was where they chose to raise Gadren. When they entered this cave they came across many ground and rock type pokemon. They actually discovered a underground haven for them. But on their trip a ghost pokemon decided to play a trick, one that went horribly wrong. A part of the cave collapsed, burying Gadrens parents and stranding him in total darkness. His only friend was a single pokemon he couldn't recall the look or name of. That pokemon kept him company and brought him food and water for the next 3 days.

He was found dirty and scared, alone in a cave somehow alive. No one ever saw the pokemon that had saved him, and his parents were never found. For a couple years he grew up with his grandparents, until the age of eight, when they passed away within a few weeks of eachother. After this he was taken in by Flare's family. Here has remained, growing, learning, hoping to be a grand explorer to make his parents proud. He wishes to go on a journey like they did. The problem is the region raised the age of pokemon journeys to 16 or even 18 across the country. This was due to a spike in of casualties, accidents, and an increase in natural disasters across Windia. So Gadren settled in, enjoyed life with Flare and her family, and read and learned all he could in preparation for the day his journey would begin.

Favorite Type: Grass and Dark

Fears: Beedrill, loneliness, ghosts, and being underground

Likes: Tea, reading, short girls[imeanwhat?], learning and exploring, and meat [glorious MEAT]

Dislikes: Bullies, loud noises, being confined, and his own lack of knowledge of the outside world.

Extras: He has an incredible wanderlust, as in he needs to go out and explore, learning what he can while he does so. For this he suffers through all of Flares pranks and what not, because he knows she always has some plan for testing the outskirts of the village.

Gadren eats little for the size he is, actually being far more refined and polite than anyone would assume out of someone his size.

Gadren woke to the sound of his alarm, a gentle tune playing out of the Umbreon alarm clock. He clicked it off and stretched, trying to coax himself out of his incredibly comfortable bed, but after realizing what day it was he threw his covers to the side, almost tossing them off his king size bed. He was filled with a seemingly impossible pit of energy, especially for someone who just got out of bed. But then again, today was the day he and Flare began their journey! It had taken eight years longer than it should have for this to happen, eight years of learning, studying, and saving his money while he worked around the village. But finally the knowledge and money he had saved would serve it's purpose. Gadren would travel, train, explore, and learn anything and everything he could. He just knew his parents had to be smiling down on him right now. But hopefully they could look away for fifteen while he used the bathroom and showered.

After showering and the like he put on the outfit he picked for this day. A new pair of black jeans, freshly ironed, a large button down flannel with a blue and black plaid design, his favorite sky blue tennis shoes, and a black scarf. He put on his glasses and pulled out the suitcase he had premade for today about three days ago. Granted he kept adding "last minute necessities" every day since, but that was beside the point. He ran across the hall, pounding on Flare's door on the way by. It sounded like she hadn't even gotten up yet! Today was a rather important day, how was she even able to sleep in?! One way or another the pounding had to have waken her up. He sat down at the dining room table, Flare's mom having already made breakfast ahead of time. French toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, and orange juice. Gadren tucked in, eating more than he might normally just to prepare for his first journey. Hopefully Flare was almost ready!

'BOOM BOOM BOOM'

That was the sound coming from Flare Motimiya's bedroom door. She groaned and rolled out of bed with a thump "Gaaah!" the rebellious teen exclaimed as she felt the pain of the floor hit her body. The radio from her Charmander alarm clock blared "Goooooodmorning Windia! Such a marvelous-" the radio was cut off by a very grumpy girl. Her hair was a mess and her eyelid was twitching. "It's a fucking Saturday!" she said as she stomped to the door and opened it roughly. That's when she saw the neatly packed backpack at her door. Realization appeared in her eyes, it was today! The day she would go on her journey and become a Pokemon Master. A smile appeared on the girls once grumpy face. She rushed into her bathroom and showered and dressed. She pulled on her dark blue jeans, red and black striped shirt and fingerless gloves. She pulled up her hair into a messy ponytail and to top it off she put on her favorite trainer hat and walked out the door to downstairs.

When she reached the kitchen she saw Gadren and her mother. Her eyes were confused on why her mother was cooking breakfast and not Nana Mary. She didn't even see Mime here either. She frowned and was almost tempting to be defiant about eating food but, her stomach protested. She sighed and sat down and ate not speaking to her mother. She did however look up to Gadren and smirked "Someone seems overly excited today." She said and leaned back and crossed her arms haughtily. She knew exactly why Gadren was excited but she just wanted to tease him a bit. She wondered about what starter she wanted to pick, Pikachu or Fenkin maybe she did like fire types after all.

Her mother spoke from the corner of the room "I've packed running shoes in both of your bags, so you don't have to worry about not being fast enough. Flare had to admit that was nice but she pushed away her bitchiness for a brief moment "Thank you, Mom" she smiled. She was going to prove to her parents that she is worth their attention.

Gadren frowned at Flare, he never really understood why it was she had such misgivings about her parents. She was lucky to have them, but for some reason she didn't think so. He guessed he never really understand why anyone might not like their parents. But whatever about that, he was wayyyy too excited to let that get in the way today. "Yes I'm excited! And now I'm full, and you're late, and it's time to go come on!". He stood up and put on his backpack, picking up Flares in one hand, he grabbed one of her hands and simply ran out of the door whether she protested or not.

The sun was shining, the wind was blowing lightly, and the leaves crunched under his heavy footfalls in a pleasant manner. It was only after they were halfway to the professors lab that he realized he still had hold of Flares hand. He gasped and let go, turning a bit red, avoiding looking at her so she wouldn't see. "Sorry about that, I guess I'm more excited about this then I should be huh?". He slowed down to walk alongside Flare. "I wonder what kind of pokemon we'll get to start with huh? I heard they sometimes have trios of starters to choose from. What if we both got to pick from the same trio? Gah, what if we both want the same one?!". He shut up as they arrived at the front lawn of Professor Sakura's lab. "I guess this is it.".

Flare let out a surprised yelp as she was dragged from her seat by her overexcited best friend. She barely had time to grab her back pack "Oi oi Gadren you're going to pull my arm out that way." she sighed. How could she live without her arm, the blaze eyed girl didn't want to think about that. She squinted her eyes when the light hit her, it stung after spending too much time in the dim house. She sighed and tried to catch up with the bespectacled boy. She was relieved when he let go of her wrist. She rubbed it slightly, he hadn't held her too tight but it still hurt.

She smiled and shook her head "You just show your excitement more so then I do." she said and put her hands behind her head and started to walk leisurely. She thought for a moment, he thoughtful face was almost comical. She was looking to the side and her lips scrunched sideways "Hmm." Flare finally spoke. "I would think we would have picks from common water, fire and grass Pokemon." she remembered that bit from when others went to the lab to get their first Pokemon. She looked up and rolled her eyes "You are worrying too much again." she chuckled. When they reached the Professor's lab and she saw "POKE LAB" over the door. 'Well wasn't that obvious enough' she thought sarcastically. She opened the door without a word and smiled with excitement "This is it Gadren, this is the start of our Pokemon journey!" she exclaimed and rushed to the back where Prof. Sakura was waiting.
