Joanna had been at Willow Valley for hours already.

The girl was seventeen this year, finally old enough to drive. To celebrate, her dad had bought her a car. Now it was nothing fancy-- in fact, it was everything but fancy. Almost falling apart in certain aspects, really. The radio was stuck on one station (which she planned on fixing by getting an after market kit installed eventually), the AC didn't work, and if you rolled down the back window it got stuck.

She loved it.

The freedom that came along with having a car really made Joanna feel like she was on her way. She was only a junior at Willow Valley, and she was far from a popular girl, but she didn't care. Her dream was to make it big, and that's what she planned on doing. No one was going to get in her way. Anyone who went to Willow Valley had to be smart, or else you couldn't stay, but it was the talent that some of them were lacking. Jojo wondered how some of them even got in to begin with.

Shaking her head, she pulled out a picture from her bookbag, carefully wrapped in plastic and bubble wrap. She took her time unwrapping the thing as she sat on her bed, awaiting her two roommates, hoping they were nicer than the ones she'd had the year before. As her father came into view, she let the plastic and bubble wrap fall to the ground, setting the photo on the table beside the bed she'd chosen.

It was the bed all the way to the left of the room, and she had taken her time picking that one, too. Or, actually, she'd jumped from bed to bed until she found the one that felt right. She may not get to pick the room or the roommates, but being first here, she could damn well pick which bed was going to be hers for the next year.

The bonfire was tonight, and for the first time, Jojo was pretty excited about going. She wanted to actually make friends this year; people with the same goals and ambitions that she had. Whether or not that was in the cards for her, only time would tell.

Jumping off the bed, she snatched her trash up off the floor and tossed it into her little trash can, turning to look at her decorated side of the room. The most noticeable thing was the big poster of pop stars throughout the years, taped to the wall by the head of her bed. Since that's what she wanted to be, what better way to wake up everyday than next to some of the biggest?

Blowing the poster a kiss, she looked away and at her bedspread, black with white music notes all over it. Matching pillowcases, too.

Turning away from her bed and side of the room, she looked over at the two empty spaces and plopped back down on her bed, wondering just what kind of people her roommates were and what departments they were in.

Lena Vines

The start of a new school term. Always an exciting time of reunions and new encounters all included with the ever so annoying bustling activity of traffic. Vehicles of various shapes, sizes, and colors inched their way down the roads leading to the prestigious institution. As for Lena, her form of transportation was on her treasured motorcycle. This in turn translates to Lena having to wear tight garments for protection, which currently was baking her alive under the unforgiving sun. Even with the slight wind flowing through, it was still warm.

Standing in traffic on a motorcycle was difficult in terms of having to keep it upright while at a stop. Lena was currently facing this hardship.

"Oh come on the light is green. Green means gooooooo." A mumble of complaints left her lips as she continued on through the pace of traffic. Eventually the devil on Lena's shoulder won over her cognitive processes and soon she was zipping in between cars with her motorcycle. Illegal and rude at the same time but Lena was not enjoying her morning-time traffic thoughts. With a slight adrenaline rush and not wanting to get caught Lena managed to slip out of traffic and cruise into a parking spot for motorcycles.

Surviving through one of the big obstacles of the day, Lena's mind finally wandered onto more optimistic thoughts. She was starting her junior year at Willow Valley High. Another year for her to set goals and achieve most of them. But with this being her junior year it also meant more pressure to accomplish more since there were only two years left. Lena's first two years had served more as a set-up, so now she needed to focus on working it off.

Since Lena came on a motorcycle she didn't have much belongings to lug around to her dorm room. Fortunately her parents had thought ahead and scheduled for the rest of her belongings to arrive later on in the day. The girl quickly slipped off her helmet and attached it to a hook on her backpack. With just a simple backpack and large duffel bag in hand, Lena made her way over to her assigned room with ease. Along the way to her room she sent over a few hellos to familiar faces and even stopped and said hi to others. But with so many people, everyone eventually had other individuals to attend to. It wasn't until Lena found a big break in between catching up with others before she finally found her dorm room.

A soft sound of an angel singing hallelujah from the heavens above rang in Lena's mind when she spotted the sight of a bed. Without much thought on which bed to pick, the girl flew over to the bed on her right side carelessly tossing her immediate belongings on the ground next to it. "Oh how I love thou soft touch..." Lena murmured as she sank into the mattress.

After an unexpected power nap of fifteen minutes, Lena reasoned with herself to begin unpacking some of her things. Since there was not a lot to sort through the task took less than ten minutes of the girl's time. "Well that took a lot less time than anticipated." Her eyes wandered over to the empty bed on the other side of the room, "I wonder who my roommate will be this year?" At the thought of a new roommate many faces began flashing across her mind but not a single one stood out. Lena was a fairly involved student and known throughout most of the population but she couldn't confidently say she had a best friend. So the start of a new year was even more exciting for Lena in hopes of a new friendship. She needed to make these next two years memorable, and friends would definitely help with that.

Spencer nearly squealed when her alarm went off at precisely 6AM, incredibly eager to get her day started. She hadn't been able to sleep at all, the fact that she was going to the Willow Valley enough to keep her wide awake. She had flown in three days ago from her home in Savannah, Georgia, and the three days of waited was enough to nearly drive Spencer mad. Today was the day though! She couldn't be more excited. She quickly got dressed into her outfit for the day, something cute for her first day.

She had grabbed her two bright pink suitcases from the hotel room's closet before turning her room key into the front office and loading up her car with her belongings. This time, Spencer actually let out a squeal, not particularly caring who heard her. She hopped into the driver side of her BMW 6 Series convertible. Opening up the roof of the convertible, Spencer let out an excited whoop, pumping her fist outside of the vehicle. "Willow Valley, baby, here I come!"

The drive was incredibly quick. When Spencer was scheduling her flight months ago, she had made sure to find a hotel room that was very close to the school. The Hilton she stayed at was the closest one she was able to book that didn't cost a fortune. She didn't want to waste any time upon arriving to school. She pulled her pink suitcases out of the backseat after parking and pulling the roof back on her car. Pulling her wadded schedule from her pocket, Spencer began walking to her assigned room, a large grin on her face.

When she arrived to her room, the door already unlocked, someone was already there. Stepping in, Spencer dropped her bags on the bed to the far right, quickly turning around to look at the girl who sat on her own bed. She opened her arms for a hug, not minding if her roommate was a touchy-feely person like herself. "Oh my God, hi. You must be my roommate!! I'm Spencer, it's so nice to meet you."

Spencer found it incredibly difficult to contain her excitement.

Beatrice smirked as she looked out her window, watching the new students fumble with their schedules and wander for their dorm room. It was the first day of school, which meant stupid freshman asking her for directions to their next classes. Sometimes if she was feeling nice, the teenage girl would lead them in the right direction. If she wanted to mess with them, she would send them towards the fashion and retail building so the snooty clothing students could judge them.

Despite her hateful attitude towards it, Beatrice actually quite liked Willow Valley. She was constantly challenged musically by other students and pushed to compose meaningful songs. Arts students, however, are naturally dramatic. When you put hundreds of prima donnas in the same school, things can always get out of hand.

Because she arrived to the school earlier than most students, she was already unpacked in her dorm. The teenage girl set up her mini drumset, displayed three of her guitars, and hung up various posters of icons from the 80’s and 90’s. There were a few more current artists as well, but she preferred to focus on the old stuff. Blondie was blasting from the speaker by her bed, probably irritating a few students nearby.

Beatrice threw on a less-shlubbish outfit than what she wore to the school, hoping to leave a memorable impression on the underclassmen. This was her last year at Willow Valley after all, and she wanted to go out with a bang. She put on a blue tank top and tucked it into a pair of dark wash mom jeans.

Silently, she prayed to whatever was above that she wouldn’t get placed with a freshman for a roommate. Those things were gross! Untidy, unorganized, dumb, and usually quite smelly. She hoped that this year would be her best. If her roommate was bad, she could always throw her into the bonfire tonight. Of course, she’d be kidding. But she would want to!

Sebastian
Early in the morning, or at least early for him, Sebby arrived at the school, stepping out of a sleek black car. He said something to the driver, a friend in the nearby town he'd roomed with for the off-term, and stepped onto the campus. He wore a pair of sunglasses and smoothed out his blue suit with faint pinstripes. He wore a pair of sunglasses and carried a pair of large, synthetically aged leather suitcases, large enough to hold his superfluous dandy attire. He walked through the campus with shoulders back, head high, and a certain swagger in his step.
Shortly, Sebby arrived at his door. He seemed to be the first there, meaning he had the right to take whichever sub-room he wished, so chose the one with the most closet-space. He staked his claim by quickly hanging up some of the jackets he was more concerned with creasing, then laid on his bed. He crossed his arms behind his head, deciding to chill out until he can be bothered to properly unpack and deal with decor.

Noel fidgeted in the passenger seat of the car his friend was driving, glancing from the window to the back seat where his guitar and a sizeable amount of luggage balanced precariously. He probably didn't need the assortment of band posters and Skelanimals plushies, but no room of his was going feel like home without them.

Running a hand absentmindedly through his two-tone hair, the young emo boy sighed. He was almost there.

It took him two trips to unload his assortment of things, Noel being too lost in his own little world to notice the stares and odd looks he was getting from his fellow students.

It's not like he would've cared, anyway.

Flopping down hard on the bed closest to the window, Noel sighed loudly. He'd been the first to arrive, his roommate nowhere to be seen as of yet. After catching his breath, he decided he'd put this alone time to good use and redecorate before anyone was there to complain.

For half an hour, a small whirlwind of black and white could be seen plastering walls with posters of bands all sporting a similar haircut to his own, replacing the dull bedspread with a much more unique Nightmare Before Christmas option and at least five stuffed animals of various sizes. A lava lamp and black, skull-shaped fairy lights completed his masterpiece.

The room had gone from a generic dorm, to half of what appeared to be the lovechild of Hot Topic and the year 2007.

Noel looked over his handiwork with a satisfied grin.

It was perfect.

His roommate was still missing in action, so he unzipped his guitar from its case and sat on the bed, strumming the first few notes of Welcome to the Black Parade.

Practice was, after all, important.

Montgomery woke up with a dismal sigh. He had dreaded the first day of school since the very last day of the last school year had ended. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy school, Monty really just couldn't stand the people who occupied the school. Everyone was just so boring. Monty missed being a kid with his mother and his old private tutor teaching him everything he needed to know. Nonetheless, school was unavoidable and simply dreading it wasn't going to make the situation better. When the male got out of bed and showered, he made way to his closet, pulling on a simple outfit (simple to Monty's standards, that is). He pulled on a simple collared shirt over a turtleneck, black slacks, and his favorite fur coat to complete the look. He was the opposite of most people, who got extremely dressed up for their first day. Monty dressed down, not finding the day worthy of top fashion.

Montgomery had a quick breakfast before he was ready to go, giving his mother and father a kiss on each of their cheeks. Raoul, his private chauffeur, was already waiting outside of his home when he arrived outside. Monty didn't need to say anything. Raoul had the door open for him the moment he set foot on the walkway. Montgomery stepped in. Raoul knew the routine by now. As soon as the vehicle was started, Raoul turned on Chopin.

The drive to school was rather short, but silent. Raoul and Monty never talked while he drove, which was perfectly fine by Monty. He was content humming along to the familiar sound of Frederic Chopin. Monty stepped out of the vehicle when Raoul arrived at the school and opened his door yet again for him, squinting as the sun shone in his eye. He let out a small scowl, already disgusted by what he saw. One girl he saw was wearing a beanie. A beanie? Seriously? He had to force himself to look away, watching as Raoul pulled his bags out of the trunk. As soon as his two large suitcases were pulled out, Monty began walking to his dorm, his heeled shoes clanking against the concrete.

It didn't take long for him to find his dorm, grabbing his suitcases from Raoul as soon as he was in front of the door. He closed his eyes, silently wishing for a good roommate before he opened the door. What Monty saw inside made him stop in his tracks, his jaw nearly hanging open. "You have got to be fucking kidding me. This is a joke, right?"

Monty looked at the male that was strumming the guitar on his bed with a bizzare look, unable to grasp what was happening. How, of all the fashion nightmares he could be stuck with, did he end up with the walking personification of a 2007 Hot Topic store? He brought his bags to the remaining bed and took off his cost, draping it over a chair that was in the room. Instead of unload, Monty simply sat with his head in his hands. "How could this happen to me?"

Another year in Willow Valley was about to start, and Cecile couldn't be more determined to become a better dancer and still be the number one student on her class, she wasn't going to have anyone take away being the best ballet dancer in Willow Valley.

After her summer in France with her family, Cecile was ready to start again and improve her skills. She spent all her summer training and making sure she didn't lack on the basics.

When she arrived at the school the driver, helped her with her belongings "Merci" She said to the driver once everything was out of the car, before she grabbed her belongings she made sure that her outfit looked good, and make her way towards the dorms. She saw some familiar faces and also new students.

The only thing she hated about Willow Valley was having to share a room with someone else, she wanted her own space and not having to deal with an annoying girl, and especially she would go completely mad if she had to share a room with Beatrice. Cecile wasn't a big fan of her and she wanted to avoid her as much as possible she was only hoping that her roommate would be someone Cecile could stand for the rest of the year.

When she made it to her dorm, she realized that her roommate was already there and she has already unpacked her things, Cecile walked towards the bed that was empty and put her stuff there before she went and greet her roommate.

Even if she hated having to share a room with someone she at least could be polite to her, Cecile was sure that girl wasn't part of the Dance department, but she couldn't figure out who she was "Bonjour, my name is Cecile" she said to the girl while she extended her hand for a shake.

With some free time after unpacking, Lena decided to spend it doing one of her favorite things, reading. Fortunately the room Lena was assigned to this year had a fairly large window compared to previous rooms she had been in. Sure the girl could be out reconnecting with others, but she found herself loving to visualize scenes in her head instead.

Some time must have passed as the girl immersed herself into the pages in front of her. When the door of the room clicked open Lena lifted her head up from the book, slightly confused on what reality she was in. It wasn't until she recognized the girl walking through the door did she remember she was in Willow Valley High. Out of everyone in the school Lena would have never guessed that her roommate would be Cecile Fleury, a Dance Major student who was also known to be at the top of their grade. Lena was quite excited to know that the girl was going to be her roommate, although she wasn't sure how approachable she might be. The last thing Lena wanted to come off was creepy.

So when the dancer herself walked up to Lena a big smile appeared on her face. "Cecile Fleury, a ballet performer right? My name is Lena Vines. I study in the English department, mostly focusing on the creative and script writing studies though." Lena quickly placed her book down on her bed and happily took Cecile's hand for a short, appropriate handshake before she pulled away.

"So uhm you're a junior right? I think I may have seen you around before. Oh and are you planning to go to the bonfire tonight?" Lena at this point was sprouting out words to try and keep up a conversation.

"This is it, Daniella".

Daniella kept her eyes closed as her father pulled up beside Willow Valley, not having much time to park in the car park. "Daniella, I know you're not asleep. Open your eyes, look at your new school". With a moment of hesitation, Daniella did so, the bright sunbeams reflecting off her glasses. The mere sight of the school left her in pure awe for a few seconds, her Dad chuckling a little. "Ready to get in there and own everyone"? Daniella looked over at him; her father. The only person she properly knew. She hugged him tight, arms around his chest, feeling him hug back tighter, both of them shaking a little.

"Expect a phone call from me later on tonight" Daniella said softly, a little witty smirk on her face.
"I would be surprised if I didn't. Remember I'll be working late, so I might miss it, I'll answer as soon as I can. Now grab your things and go, I can't be parked here. If you've forgotten anything, I'll deliver it round tomorrow. If your glasses break, I'll send the school your prescription". Daniella replied with a curt nod, grabbing her suitcase, guitar case and skateboard from off the floor down by her feet, slowly getting out of her Dad's Volvo and waving as he drove off, seeing him flash his little salute.

Walking into the school, her skirt fluttering in the brief breeze, Daniella checked her crumpled schedule and room location. Making her way down the vast, maze-like corridors, feeling anxiety-induced nausea, she kept looking around as others walked past, not greeting them as some did to her. She couldn't wrap her around the fact that she went from singing to a few dudes at a skate park to being in Willow Valley; a prestigious and revered school only for the best.

Finding her room, hand on the doorknob, her body tensed. The thought of sharing a room with another, having eyes on her incessantly, her belongings in view...

She inhaled and jerked the door open.

Nora O' Conner

Nora got off a car. She thanked the driver and watched them drive off into the distance. Then she turned, and faced her new school. Willow Valley. Big arts school. Somewhere her brother hadn't gone. Nora walked towards this place, relishing a bit in the idea of doing a thing that her brother never got to do. She'd just arrived in Montana by airplane, all the way from some obscure suburban place on the West Coast. The freedom and adventure of going all alone to a new place was something Nora enjoyed.

The girl made her way towards the dorms, noting the various students that also went in that general direction. Few caught her interest, though once Nora had reached the general area of her room, one stood out to her. Mostly because they were going in the same direction. This individual was a girl, with a multitude of freckles. Now, freckles wouldn't have been weird, but these freckles were on an Asian. And, while Nora thought of herself as generally not racist, she had to admit that she didn't think freckles on Asians were possible. Oh, but the freckles looked lovely! Nora had nothing against Asian freckles.

Nora smiled at the girl.

"Hi," she said. "Do we happen to be roommates?"

Cecile was a little surprised that her roommate knew who she was since she didn't have a clue who her roommate was at first, but it Cecile felt proud that she was getting recognized at Willow Valley although it was quite obvious since she was always at the top of her grade in the dance department and she was always the main ballerina in every dance recital of the school "Indeed that's me. And it's nice meeting you, Lena. So the English department? What kind of screenwriting you are going for? Theather? Film? Something else" She asked her roommate although Cecile didn't know who Lena was she could still be friendly with her if she was going to be her roommate at least they should be friendly with each other.

"Yes I'm a junior and if I'm not mistaken you are also a junior too. I'm not sure I'm not a big fan of parties but I guess I could give it a try. Are you going to the bonfire?" She replied to Lena as she started unpacking her stuff when she heard the door open to reveal her new roommate, she didn't recognize her face, maybe she was a new student and Cecile couldn't hate more having to share a room with someone that didn't know how things worked at Willow Valley, she was just hoping the new girl wouldn't be obnoxious.

Daniella exhaled before needing to inhale sharply when she saw two girls. She only thought it was one roomate per room. This unexpected matter didn't help her rising anxiety, breathing a little faster while trying to keep it quiet. "Hi. I'm Daniella, I'm from England".

Damn it, Daniella, they already know that. They can tell by your accent.

Embarassing herself already, she scuttled over to the last unoccupied bed, setting her suitcase on it. Her guitar case and skateboard remained leaning against the back of the bed. Taking off her glasses and wiping the dirty lenses with her shirt, she felt a little better now she could barely see her roomates. "So are you both new here as well"?

"I'm not containing myself to one particular type. I want to be able to move around from genre to genre. But if I had to pick one to start with then it'd have to be film. It'd be the fastest way to showcase my writing to the world." Lena had thought about her future goals for her writing, but she had never really laid out a definite path to take. Whenever she did talk to people about it, her answers usually changed from time to time but they were all similar in some fashion.

"Yes I'm a junior as well. And I do plan to go to the bonfire. It's a great setting to reconnect with others, hear the latest gossip, stay warm, and all the while eating and drinking. But if there aren't any marshmallows there then I'm out. You can't have a fire and no marshmallows in hand. Sure it's not a campfire, but it's essentially a big campfire right?" Lena's thoughts continued to tumble out of her mouth as she sat there and looked out the window to the scenery outside. She wanted to continue her conversation with Cecile, but she didn't want to continuously watch the girl as she unpacked in fear that she would come across as a weirdo.

But her attention was stolen from the external environment when the door of the room was opened to reveal a new face. Daniella was the name to the face, and she was British. "Hiya. I'm Lena Vines. A returning junior to Willow Valley, as is Cecile here. So no we're both returning students. But assuming from your question, you're new here? That's exciting. What grade are you entering?"

Daniella now felt a little smaller, so-to-speak, when compared to her roomates. Lena and Cecile. They were both returning students and knew what they were doing. "Yes, I'm new here. And what grade? I... I don't know what you mean by that". Now she felt even more small; this made her look degrading. She slipped her glasses back on and opened up her suitcase, setting some of her folded clothes beside it.

"So do we spend the rest of the day in our rooms? I arrived here rather suddenly and didn't go over the details". Daniella continued to unpack, having a lot of shirts; mainly Guns N' Roses. They were the main reason why Daniella was here after all.

Out of the fire and into the frying pan.

Adrian knew full well that was not how the old expression goes, but quite frankly it was how he felt. The place he technically called home was not an emotionally hospitable place for one such as he. Not with his mother breathing down his neck. Even in the time out of school he had little in the way of leisure. And even if this school gave him a break from that accursed woman, that didn't mean he liked it. This place, much like any school, was a formality in Adrian's eyes. Just a grueling formality. To top it off and add insult to injury, the source of almost all of his problems rested in a case in his right hand. Not that anybody had to know that though. Nope, Adrian was content to keep that little tidbit to himself. The one and only thing he did like about the art this school accepted him for was the respect it has earned him. Without that, he may very well go insane. So, to ensure he keeps that respect, he also keeps a secret.

Not that it mattered now anyway. Right now he only needed to worry about the inevitability of a roommate. He had be coming here for three years and it has yet to get easier getting to know people. He has a few acquaintances but that is about it. He did everything he could to mentally prepare for a roommate. However, when he got to his new dorm, he saw it was one of the bigger ones with rooms... and three beds.

Oh dear.

He entered with the hesitation of a prey animal and looked around. He didn't see anyone immediately but when he went to investigate the rooms he found another male having already claimed one of the beds. After a brief pause of awkwardness Adrian extended a hand and spoke the line he had prepared ahead of time. "So... you'll be living here too? I'm Adrian."

Wake Wake

Sebby, who had been laying in his bed in something of a revere, vaguely thinking over a few things. It took him a brief to react, half out of laziness and half in aloof irreverence.
"Hey there." He said, standing to meet his new roommate's eye, running a hand through his hair; a few strands have fallen out of place. With his other, he shook Adrian's hand, "Sebastian Ainsely, Sebby, if you will. It's a pleasure." He greeted with a friendly tone, though he didn't show much of an expression on his face. Releasing his hand, Sebby brushed out the wrinkles in his jacket and adjusted his glasses. Deciding that, now roused, he wouldn't rest again, he began unpacking. "What department are you in?" he asked as he began to unroll some of his posters, all of which seeming to be foreign art films.

Joanna didn't have to wait long before she felt a presence step into the room. Shooting up to a sitting position, she took in the girl who'd stepped inside. As she opened her arms for a hug, Jojo stood from her bed and practically leaped at her, hugging her back. Oh yes, they were going to get along wonderfully.

At least, she hoped.

See, Joanna wasn't the type to have many friends, and it wasn't because she wasn't friendly. For some reason, her 'loser' persona from school seemed to have followed her here, and while it was disheartening, that didn't stop Joanna from trying. She was friendly to just about everyone, and if they chose to ignore her, well, that was on them.

Besides, nothing would stop her from achieving her dreams, friends or not. She didn't have a problem stepping in front of others to get what she wanted, if it meant she could do what she loved. But still-- this was a new year, and it was never too late to shrug off that old persona and try again, right?

"Spencer, it's nice to meet you!" Joanna pulled back, clasping her hands together. "I'm Joanna, but my friends call me Jojo. What department are you in? I'm in the vocal department; I've been singing since before I could talk. Do you sing? Do you dance? I for one can't dance, but I am fascinated by those who can..." She was talking too much, and she knew it, so to shut herself up she clasped a hand over her mouth.

After a moment, she let it slide away. "Sorry." She grinned, somewhat sheepishly, before stepping back to her side to give her roommate some space. "I know I talk alot."
