Perched upon a rail of the bow of a modest fisherman's ship sailing along the coast of the Waterdeep; The City of Splendors, a young Drow hummed a tune to the sea. The winds on The Sword Coast shifted and rolled the waves against the hull, and the Drow grinned in excitement, she had never before been on the water, and she found it fascinating. It was night time, for she could scarcely go about when the sun was above, her night-vision had yet to recede and the sun had startled and blinded her when she first came to the surface two weeks ago. She sighed, content and continued to hum and listen to the waves dance in bliss.

"Lass, we be arrivin' soon. ye best be preparin' " A rough voiced sailor yelled at her from the starboard side of the ship. She turned around, her silvery lavender hair whipped across her shoulders as she acknowledged him. Standing, she hopped off of the rail and returned to her cabin, preparing to return to land.

Sloshing rain awoke a young Thrain Drakengard, his silvery-blue eyes covered by a small mess of raven black hair that had been stained with sweat ever since they began this miserable voyage. The air was always hot and the moist air of the sea around them didn't help at all either. He heard a sailor yelling outside, another distraction from his otherwise peaceful slumber. It was a wonder how he had gotten to sleep in the first place but then again that's what worry of leaving your homeland will do to you after a while. As a matter of fact it had been at least three days since he had slept before he fell into a peaceful rest before.

His legs stretched as did his muscular arms, his right hand gripping a brown leather scabbard which held the same sword that he received from his father when he was younger inside. It was his policy from experience that he had learned to keep his weapon close by, even when he was asleep. He knew only of one other traveler on this vessel and even though she was a fair one he did not intend to place his trust so blindly on pretty faces. Once he had a satisfying yawn, Thrain had a little struggle getting to his feet as the boat sloshed left and right. It had taken him four days to gain his sea legs and yet the voyage was nearly over. What rotten luck he had thus far.

Gaining his balance, Thrain slowly made his way towards the wooden door that had been latched by a small metal hook holding onto a ring on the wall. He flipped it open with his finger and stepped out into the fresh salty air. Much better than the stuffy cabin he had been held up in all this time. Rippling waters and small waves reflected in his eyes as the lass the sailor was speaking to before was nowhere to be seen. A pity. He had fancied on asking her her name when he had the chance but had spoken little to her on this entire trip. How awkward would it be now for him to ask? These thoughts and more of his impending journey ran through his head as he stepped forward and placed his hands firmly on the railing, staring out towards their oncoming destination.
