Why is there code (not bbcode) in my posts!?

I've been looking over all of my posts and nearly everyone is now flooded with code (I think it's HTML but I haven't a clue) that was not originally there. This makes it nearly impossible for people to join my rps as the character skeletons (which I had manually removed all the bbcode from) are now coding messes anyway and there's more code there than there was before. Why is this happening? 


Is it part of the background processes reconstructing the bbcode posts? If so, why is it affecting posts that have absolutely no bbcode and why were we not warned this would happen?

I'm posting here because this is something I'd like to know an answer to, or to know if it means I have to edit my posts again...after I edited them to remove the previous coding to make them easier to read. Now they're even more difficult to read, and my character sheets are even worse.


Mods/Admins, can you please let us know if this is something that is going to be fixed while the website continues to update, or if it is something I need to start manually editing?


An example of this is below (an excerpt from one of my rps):

This is an issue I've had as well. Frustratingly enough, the only posts that were hit are ones I'd gone through and fixed the broken BBCode manually. (Character sheet templates, things like that I needed legible ASAP) Of course, now the posts are even worse than when I started . . .

The site is still updating and fixing them. They have stated that all bbcodes are gone forever which is why it's been replaced with html codes due to the new system. It might take some time to get everything back together.

Only basic stuff like Bold/Italics/Underline and so forth got fixed by the automated process. As we continue to do updates and release more codes and functionality for the new platform, things should fix themselves. For now just remove them from your posts if they bother you.

I apologize for not making this clear, I'm also confused but I have a clear idea of what might be going on. I hope I can explain it to you properly >_< 



If you remember earlier after the update. Many of the bbcodes were still there and I had an old thread that was still fully functional along with a nice looking character sheet. However I think on the 10th or 11th. The whole entire bbcodes got removed and was replaced with all of this html. The only thing that didn't get changed was the text I typed without any use of the bbcodes however it was still a mess.


I guess to answer your question to why your posts have been bugged with html codes even when there are no bbcodes is because it's going through a transition with the new system. The team said that they will still be updating the site through out the weeks. That's why many of the threads are still updating, changing and adapting to this new system. While it's still buggy it's possible that it's just a glitch that might be temporary or permanent. Still I recommend waiting until all of the updates are done and the transitioning is complete.


So it really doesn't matter if it has bbcodes or not...it's still going to get messed up. As for those posts that have no bbcodes and have not been flooded with these annoying html codes...I haven't gotten a clue but I have seen them. It's possible you got unlucky but I'm sure it'll fix itself or not.


Staff members are all volunteers and aren't actual real workers. So maybe PM one and see how it goes? Wish you the best of luck fixing them and I hope I helped you in some way.


The only thing I can say to you is that if you have some posts you would like to post. I recomend backing them up first on a word doc or some other form of typing save. Post your post and if it gets flooded with html, you can always edit it back by copying and pasting back the post you made on the back up doc. That's only a temporary solution but I hope it helps!

I'm just curious as to why a post that had zero bbcode in it is now a mess of html code. What is it going to turn to if I leave it alone? It was a page copied and pasted directly from a google doc with 0 bbcode so I don't understand why it got messed with in the first place. There was no bbcode there so I'm very confused as to how it has anything to do with the automated process.

From what I've seen, it's only been posts that had the BBCode manually edited out before the site got around to doing it itself. idk if that has something to do with it or not

I've had the problem in both situations.

Again, probably glitches and update mantinences that are causing all of this from changing systems and 


I'm not sure if it's completed entirely but there are bound to be errors.btw, which two posts still have bbcodes? I'm not sure if it's bbcode but I would like to check it out.
