Watchin Me
Rockwell
overview.
The arch above welcomes visitors in all of its chipped and splintered glory. The construct is of old wood and polished iron. It has clearly stood tall for many years, perhaps as long as the town's founding. There is clearly a history to tell, one of how the wood bore deep scratches yet the metal, while slightly bent, was polished to perfection. Either way it speaks of an old time charm, away from the noisy and sometimes complicated ways of the modern world.
Something seems to call from within, stirring a feeling of intrigue and wonder deep within the chest. It tugs like a skilled fisherman, urging those outside to come forward. A car slowly moves forward and the group is suddenly silent, anticipation suddenly stealing the words from them. A strange feeling comes with the passing of the arch.
The road is dirt and there are only woods on either side of the vehicle. From within the darkness behind the trees, the shadows follow them at a steady pace. For a split second they take form. Is that laughter or a trick of the wind?
It takes a little while to reach the town and when the sight finally reaches excited eyes, the excited chatter begins. Talonโs Cross is every bit of a small, hidden gem. Citizens peer at the new vehicle curiously, a group of children stare at the car with smiles on their faces.
a sense of wanting to stay for as long as possible surrounds the group.

lore

talonโs cross
setting
It was during the 1730s that England founded the last of it colonies in north america. The town of Talonโs Cross, Georgia was thus born. A town that is nearly as old as savannah but not as known as its counterpart and nearly hidden from the eyes of the world. Despite its near isolated status, the town continues to thrive.
The 80s
Era
A recollection of new media, music in its prime, joy that often veils the danger that lurks in Talonโs Cross. And while it seems that the music, movies, and TV shows have made their mark on the rest of the country, it only seems to fall short in this small town. 1980s Talonโs Cross seems to still live in the old daysโcut off, mostly, from media consumption (of course, Talonโs Cross has luckily followed the new world into social acceptance, tossing away the prejudices of its past.) Here, there is no Tears For Fears, no ABBA or Duran Duran.
the group
characters
A group of adults have recently graduated from NYU. As a last hurrah to celebrate all that theyโve done to get where they are, as well as a meaningful trip between them, they decide to head down to Georgia for a trip to the sticks. What better way to bond with others than a trip to a small town that is surrounded by nature. The group havenโt known one another since childhood but they are close nevertheless. Each member comes from a different walk of life and each with their own stories. Such differences should make for an interesting experience indeed.
the situation
premise
It all began with an idea. Wanting to have one last meaningful experience between themselves, a group of graduating college students decide to take a trip down south. With relaxation and bonding in mind, theyโre eager to leave behind the bustling and busy life of New York for the quiet and simple ways of rural Georgia. Talonโs Gross is a cute little town full of southern hospitality and good food. Though there is somethingโฆnot quite right beneath the service. As the veil of normalcy begins to slowly lift, the group finds that they have traveled to a place where nothing is as it seems. Itโs up to them to find a way out of town and perhaps discover the reason for the strange happenings taking place.

rules.
rule one.

rule two.
Weโll be using real face claims for this rp or written description if youโre comfortable with using face claims. Any sheets that use anime or some type of art will be turned away.
rule three.
Discord will be required for plotting and ooc purposes once the due date for sheets close. We find that it makes plotting and talking easier than using the site.

Save the drama for the in character! We wonโt tolerate any sort of bullying, bigotry, ect ect. We have absolutely zero patience for it and youโll only receive one warning should anything happen.
rule five.
In order to try and keep the rp from dying, roleplayers are required to post at least once or twice a week. This will be a slower roleplay so there wonโt be any rapid fire posting.
