Where can I find information about...

I'm looking for information for an upcoming game.  I need to find out which book information on fae ravagers (?) is located.  Can one of you help me out?

edit: specifically, in the player's guide it mentions that fae-blooded are sometimes employed in ravager bands.  I was hoping to find out more background on this concept, as I'm wanting to do a character based on that.  What kinds of conditions do they live in?  Are they decked out in gossamer?  Do they get any sort of training?  Do they get fae-tortured? Just basic background.

the FairFolk book has some information on that, the 1E scavanger sons book has some information on Fair Fook, but I don't remember if it says much about ravagers.  The 2E core book might talk about it some as well, I can't recall at the moment.

Your best bet on getting information on the FairFolk is in the FairFolk book, or by asking whatever question(s) you may have about them here and hoping they'll be answered.

Though there are more appearances of the word "ravager", the following are all the references I could find that would seem relevant:

  • Player's Guide pg. 74. Sidebar explains how to make a Ravager character.
  • Kingdom of Halta, pg. 16 - camps of ravagers. Pg. 26, 30 - death penalty for.
  • Fair Folk, pg 81 - Ruby Court treatment of. pg 33 - Lapis court treatment of. pg. 304 - Raksha grooming of.
  • Manacle & Coin, pg. 82 - Ravager steward, pg 87 - The Liberating Ones".
  • Sidereals, pg. 223 - Correlation of the constellation of the Lovers

I always thought they were called "ravaged".
So what are the "ravaged"?
Those who have been fed on (and drained) by the fae are the "ravaged". Since the ravaged have no will of their own, the fae sometimes organize them into armies controlled entirely by select Fair Folk. These armies are known as "ravagers".

At least, that's how I read it.

Mechanically, such armies are probably fairly effective under Mail & Steel rules, because they cannot fail valor rolls (the ravaged are essentially immune to fear) and unit stats are based on those of a Fair Folk commander (which tend to be quite high). They are, however, more vulnerable to killing the unit leader.

In the Player's Guide, it states that sometimes Ravagers have a limited dgree of Fae-Blooded powers, though they lack the immunity to the Wyld.

another idea...

Is to ravage so that only one type of virtue is drained completely....

for example...

leave someone with their valor but take away all other virtues, and you've got a raging psychopath.
