My Interest Check
As the sun set on yet another normal day Eli was headed home from practice. Heather was in the kitchen making dinner, having decided it was the best way to celebrate their one year anniversary. Stuffed shells, creamy chicken and wild rice soup, cauliflower and broccoli with cheese, and for dessert, Eli's favorite, baklava. It wasn't their one year anniversary yet, but she knew he would be working on their actual anniversary.

The apartment wasn't very large, one room, a small kitchen, the living room and the bathroom. It was small but they had been able to decorate it comfortably. Eli had his hands in his pockets, as he walked up to the building. He pulled out his keys and entered the building going up the steps and to the door. He was tired, but something smelled delicious. Opening the door he stepped inside, "I'm home!"

Alex smiled slightly as he heard his brother walk in through the front door. He was extremely clingy to his brother and was often mean to his girlfriend, the reason why was a secret deep in the back of his brain.

((Sorry, don't worry I didn't forget. I was going through all my watched threads and replying today))

"Welcome home baby!" Heather greeted him rushing out of the kitchen to throw her arms around him.

"Thank you. Something smells delicious." Eli smiled giving Heather a light kiss as he dropped his things by the door and wrapped his arms around her waist. "What's for dinner."

"Oh, just a little, anniversary dinner. Since you're working thursday, and we'll both be busy tomorrow. I figured we can celebrate early." She said before heading back to the kitchen. "It'll be ready soon."

Eli watched her walk off and made his own way through the small apartment to find his brother and take a shower. "Sup?" He said when he did finally see him.

"Hi bro!" He said after rolling his eyes at Heather while Eli wasn't looking. "How was practice?" He asked smiling brightly at him as he continued to lay across the comfortable couch.

((It's alright.))

"Ah, same old, same old. Still haven't broken that record, but I'm getting there. Gonna go take a shower. Be right back." He said already stripping as he walked down the short hall and into the bathroom, closing the door behind himself. After he showered, he wrapped up in a towel before leaving the bathroom and walking across the hall into the bedroom to get dressed. He pulled on a pair of boxer briefs, shorts and a t--hirt before leaving the bedroom to the living room. He tapped Alex's feet, "Move. Lemme sit."

Eli shrugged, and turned around promptly sitting on Alex's legs, "I gave you a chance." He said and sighed as he looked at the tv, "So what did you do after school?"

Eli sighed, "So lazy. What are you going to do when I go to college?" He asked shaking his head.

Eli rolled his eyes, "I hope you'll get a job or something at least then, I can't work part time and go to school full time. I won't have any time for Heather."

"Dinner's done!" Heather called from the kitchen.

"Yum. C'mon food." Eli tapped his brother's thigh before standing up and heading to the kitchen to help carry the food to the living room coffee table. He carried out, the soup and vegetables, while Heather came out with bowls, plates and silverware. She set down the dishes, while Eli put the pots in the middle of the table. "Can you get the drinks?" He asked his brother while he uncovered the food.

"Of course." Alex smiled slightly as he got up and poured three glasses of soda before bringing them out and setting them on the coffee table.

"Okay, this is only the start, so don't fill up yet. We still have the main course and dessert." Heather explained as she spaced out the dishes and silverware for everyone.

"What'd you make? Ohhh soup. Wait is this-" Eli started as he uncovered the two pots

"Chicken and wild rice. You're favorite. Annnd broccoli and cauliflower-" She cut him off only to have him cut her off.

"With cheese. Best girlfriend, ever. I love you." He smiled leaning over to give her a soft kiss.

"Happy anniversary, baby. I love you too." She smiled back a him, "Now eat. I have to be home by eight."

"Okay okay." Eli smiled at her before turning to Alex, "Isn't she just amazing?"

Alex felt another pang in his chest and winced slightly. "Sure, but I'm not hungry...I'll be in my room." He said before rushing up the stairs to his room.

The couple watched as he ran off.

"He doesn't like me." Heather put down her fork with a sigh.

"No, no. He's just still trying to get used to you." Eli tried to comfort her.

"It's been a year Eli. He doesn't like me, no matter what I try."

"Let's just focus on enjoying the wonderful dinner that my amazing girlfriend made me, kay? But don't tell her I shared it with you. She might get jealous." Eli teased her leaning over to give her a kiss.

"She might, huh? I guess I can keep it a secret." She played along kissing him back before they both went to eating quietly. The mood had obviously been ruined but they would pretend it hadn't for the sake of the occasion.

Alex walked into his room and layed down on his bed sighing. "What's wrong with me?" He asked the silence that seemed to be suffocating him. He turned to where he was facing the ceiling and sighed again. 'Do I like...him or something?' He thought to himself before drifting off to sleep.

The couple ate dinner quietly, as it got darker Heather stood, and made her way to the door. Eli smiled at her and gave her a kiss, wishing her a safe trip home and telling her to call him when she got there. Once she was down the steps and out of view he closed the door to the apartment and begun cleaning up. Putting the leftovers in the fridge and the dishes in the sink, he set to work cleaning up. He wasn't sure why Alex always made it so awkward when Heather tried so hard. It bothered him that no matter how much he tried to get the two of them to get along better Alex always reacted the same way.

Next day~

Alex woke up even grumpier then he was yesterday. He started off the day of getting out of bed and swearing at his blanket for no reason. He then walked down the stairs and sat on the couch silently.

Eli didn't get out of bed until his alarm went off. He was sore, but in a familiar way. It normally happened after an intense practice the day before. But he kinda liked the feeling. It let him know he'd worked harder than he normally did. Stretching he climbed out of the bed, noticing that Alex had already left the room. Walking out of the room he looked over at his twin, "Morning. You hungry? I can make oatmeal if you want."

(This is my new account, sowwy)

"No, I'm fine." Alex snapped honestly not meaning to at all. 'I'm sorry.' He thought in his head, he wanted to know why he was so grumpy all the time.

(It's okay)

"Oh, okay. I have practice this morning, and work after school. So I'll be home late." He told his brother heading into the kitchen to grab a breakfast sandwich from the freezer. He put it into the microwave and turned it on before leaving the small kitchen, "But there's plenty of leftovers for you to eat tonight." He said as he made his way to the door to grab his bags and went back to the room to get his stuff ready. He put a new bottle of shampoo and conditioner in his bag as well as a clean towel. He normally showered at the locker room after practice. Once his swim and book bags were ready he pulled out an outfit, and got changed into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Fighting back a yawn he grabbed the bags, a pair of socks, and his shoes and went back out to the living room to sit on the couch.

Alex nodded towards his brother as he rested his head on the arm of the couch sleepily. "I think I'm going to go to be early." Alex said yawning loudly.
