What might the Emissary be?

The Emissary is unexplained. The world of Exalted is not like our own; Things don't all fit into neat genuses and species. There are bizzare and unique exceptions to what seems like the otherwise natural order of things.

This is a world filled with magic, dig?

Of course, you're also free to explain him away as one of any number of things if that works for the particular story you're telling. But trying to classify him outside any particular game works against the setting as written.

Didn't we just have a thread about this?

Not trying to jump down your throat on starting a new thread, but I know that this was covered in another thread recently, and it might have the information, or at least some theories you'd find interesting.

Whatever he is, he's got aces to Solar Circle Sorcery, so that suggests he's some kind of Yozi servant (unlikely, since he smote a 3rd circle demon) or more likely, of Solar Origin.

He could be an imbued amalgan created by an immensely powerful sorceror bur my favorite idea is that he is the council of entities under the effect of that solar circle spell that combines a group of people into a single super-being.

Powerful Enough To take down a third circle, Id have to go with a Construct or he's sometype of Yozi Creature hence forth all the green lights n what not

Some ideas are given in the recent 2nd edition Scavenger Lands book.
~FC.
Yeah they list some excellent ideas as to what he may be, and specifically point out that any or none of them could be true.

The ideas listed were: A first age Solar, a fake, various members of the council who change out as needed, or I think a spirit or something.

I believe I once suggested that Chuck Norris was the Emissary...
Not possible; the Emissary wears a silver mask that covers his eyes and there would be no way Chuck could stare his victim to death with that over his face.

Or prehapse he is so good at staring people down because his eyes are covered?

Either way the last suggestion is that the Emissary is a Celestial Incarna who had not full realized her power.  One of the 5 maidens who wilkl take over for whomever is next made into fabric for the Loom of Fate

*cough* Sailor Moon crap *cough*

I'm sorry, but Lord Fuckpants tried integrating the Sailor Moon crap with the 5 maidens. It made me want to cry, seeing senshi sidereals...

It's really up to the ST in charge of each game.

I made him a First Age Eclipse with a small arsenal of Artifacts, full comprehension of all of the spells in the Bo3C, all Solar charms, many other charms from different Exalts, and a set of Essence-Containing Gems.

I was thinking: wouldn't it be cool if the Emissary is like the Perfect?

I was considering that the Incunabulum (The book of laws in Nexus) could be a powerful artifact created to govern Old Hollow, that grants a lawful representative incredible power to deal with violations of the law.

Thus, the emissary was or is a man or woman that found and harnessed the Incunabulum, and adds or removes laws to empower him or herself to keep the law of nexus.

The idea is backed up by the fact that the Emissary always recites the law the individual or group are breaking, and has never been known to act outside of those laws.

An interesting theory, I approve. But I've never cared for the Perfect really. Paragon needs to burn more than Gem does.

Yeah, I've always found Paragon kinda lame.  The area just feels too opressed without any chance of a group messing around there without a lot of collateral damage.  It's hard to get around, since everyone's marked, and so it's hard to masqerade as if you belong there.  Add all that to the fact that Paragon really isn't important outside of the southern power sphere, and even then, it's not a heavy hitter.  Too much trouble to hassle with without anything really cool to redeem it.

Well it's great to have unknowns, but by the same token, that's only because we like discussing them.

So the point is moot. Let's continue with the conjecture!

I still think that the Emissary being an Eclipse Caste Solar with access to his own cave of wonders is awesom, but if you add in the Lawgiver's Book of the Old Deliberative (Incunabulum), that would make him a devestating foe.

Perhaps a closet of wonders...

Maybe a room of wonders. :?
