i’m looking to discover more artists so it’d be lovely if u could drop names/links to ur favourite albums/songs :>

i listen to a little bit of everything but am a massive fan of alt indie + r&b and soul + organic/alt rock

some recs i’d give/albums i’ve enjoyed are:

Panic at the disco, Evanescence, Linkin Park ( :'( ), Disturbed, Beast in Black, Halestorm, Black Veil Brides, Bullet for my Valentine, Three days grace ( Not that much with Matt leading though, but I like him in My darkest days haha), Aqua, The HU, AC/DC, Metallica, Backstreet Boys, NSync, Mozart opera, Super Junior, Babymetal, Lady Beard, etc lol it's a mix.
 
Harry Styles is my favorite right now, but there's several others. I'm a bit all over the place atm and I don't really have any specific genres, I listen to everything.

I quite enjoy MGMT with their poppy synthesized songs. Gorillaz, Altitude(just smooth beats), Jack Stauber, Oliver Tree. And more if you would like to ask further.

Things like Katy Perry's firework don't work for me. It serves more a distraction than an aide when writing, and makes more visualize nicer things than I work about and thus destroys coherence. Fitting songs work best.

Though I do listen to daftpunk, as well as the song I'm on a boat, and Taio Cruz like their higher song. Still works as good as a period song, but needs some mental adjustment. Because of all this, I know more of marches, anthems, and such than new music. Even if I'm not designing a RP or game, I tend to listen to these because I've listened to the type more. That and I think a number of modern songs are just garbage. Ain't got no passion or meaning to em.

[Edit, I also listen to Hollywood undead, Evanescence, Linkin Park, ACDC, Joan Jett, papa roach, etc but there's too many to list for coherence.]

'eyyyy, as if i haven't given you enough music rec's already, let's add more!!!

i listen to a lot of indie and indie sub-genres, but i also really like hip-hop and r&b, pop, country - a little bit of everything, really...
where most people say "everything but country", i say "everything but metal and dubstep" instead.

my absolute top favorite band is linkin park because i STAN the emo shit, but also for the past several weeks i've been especially obsessed with:
and uh... yeah! well, you kind of already know my music taste VALEN T. VALEN T. and we're fairly similar already, but alas here i am, if not only for the sake of all the other music-loving dweebs. 😅

I second FKA twigs. I would also like to add Solange. If you like music in other languages I would say Cherrie as well. She has a song with Stormzy called "aldrig igen (må sådär)" and it is one of my current favorites.
 
Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Rage Against The Machine, Pentakill, Beastie Boys, Queen, Johnny Cash, CCR, and video game soundtracks.

It's generalized so if you do like older music, metal in particular, I can be more specific with "the best of".
 
time to spend the rest of my day listening to the recced albums u put that i haven't listened to yet! i hope this reply isn't too late, but here are some songs that i've found myself enjoying:

∙ lofi cover - fly me to the moon (but i tend to listen to this one at .75 speed)

& albums:
∙ troye sivan - blue neighborhood (if u want to watch the blue neighborhood trilogy as well, the storyline is also really lovely!)
∙ troye sivan - bloom
∙ baekhyun - city lights
∙ spiderman: into the spiderverse soundtrack
