Year:1905
Location: Colorado
Story:
Atkinson "Lawdog" Jones steps of the train and takes a deep breath of sweet fresh Rocky Mountain air and sighs. He makes his way down Main street to stretch his legs from the long ride from Tulsa. As he walks, he takes in the sights and sounds of New Hope, Colorado. He takes notice of the General Store and the doctor's office and of the horses and pedestrians. He makes his way to the building with the faded sign that reads "Saloon." He is about to push through the door when a man in a black trench coat flies out. There is shouting and jeers coming from inside. Atkinson tries to help the stranger but is pushed away with a growl. Indifferent, Atkinson steps through the doors into the dimly lit, but clean saloon. He tips his hat to the men at the poker table and takes a seat at the bar and orders a water. He spins around and takes in the characters occupying the saloon.
