West Blue Arc: The Hallows

The ship stopped some distance out in the water, lowering anchor so as not to come any closer despite the tide that tried to pull it in. Then, into the water, a single rowboat was lowered and on that single boat, there was a single passenger. It was a woman. She was fairly young and she seemed to have a certain glow about her that carried with it a budding excitement. She was glad to be on the island and eager for the task that had been laid out for her to complete because to her, it meant something.

Rowing to the island wasn’t an issue and neither was pulling the small little vessel up onto the beach.

As she started walking along the path that would lead her into town, she wasn’t expecting any problems at all. She had no way of knowing how wrong she was just yet and she had no way of knowing what would come next.

Leader: Dale Vroegen

A ship had landed. It was very hard for anyone to approach The Hallows without being seen and the moment they were seen, Dale was the first one to know. His head rose up from a recent article he had been reading and he acknowledged the watcher who had informed him of the new arrivals on the island… new arrival actually. Apparently it was only one person. That made it even more interesting.

“Thank you for letting me know. I will look into it.”

The watcher nodded and walked away while Dale folded up the article for now and slid it into his desk. Making his way outside, the first thing he noticed was the strength of the wind. It wasn’t as calm as it usually was and that had to mean something was coming. Storms didn’t tend to be too much of a problem, but that was because the people of the island knew how to prepare for them. Everyone in The Hallows had a job and a title. Leaders led people. Watchers watched for things. Recorders documented things. Bracers prepared for disasters. Some people even filled multiple tasks. It was a system that worked.

Looking around, Dale pulled someone aside. “Notify the bracers about the storm coming,” he told the man.

“Of course, Leader.” The man ran off to do just that.

Dale watched him for a moment before he continued walking on his own path, a path that would run him right into the newcomer unless she’d shifted course. Luckily for him, she hadn’t and he was able to greet her as planned. “Welcome to The Hallows!”

“Thank you! I wasn’t expecting a formal greeting, honestly. Isn’t that a bit dangerous considering all the pirates that have been seen in the Blue lately?” Elise couldn’t help but be a little curious and for good reason.

“All the more reason to greet everyone,” Dale replied. “It means that the town will be better warned if there are visitors of malicious intent. Besides, I didn’t think one person constituted a threat of piracy.”

Elise nodded. “Of course not. I’m merely seeking some information, but I think a place to stay would probably be in order, first. Do you have places for travellers to stay?”

They did and Dale proceeded to bring her to one of the Innkeepers to allow her to settle in.

Captain Scarlet Johanna Indigrid

Lunch had just finished up on board Charybdis and they were making good progress towards their next destination, the island called Ultimus. It was the last possible stop in the West Blue before hitting Reverse Mountain and even Scarlet knew that they would need to stop for supplies one final time before the actually hit the Grand Line. Given her willingness to let so many people on board her crew, Scarlet had accumulated a group that was a bit bigger than she’d anticipated and that meant more was needed. Additionally, Scarlet would never miss out on a chance to go shopping. It was an exciting prospect.

Jasper was currently at the helm. Everyone else… well, Scarlet didn’t quite know where everyone was. She imagined some people were finishing up lunch, though. She was just content to lean against the rail and allow her eyes to stare out at the water ahead of her. The beautiful blue glistened in her eyes.

After getting past the blockade, things had actually been going fairly well. The marines hadn’t followed. They had too many other captives to deal with. The sea was fairly quiet; they hadn’t run into anyone else in their time out there. The main thing lately had become getting to know the crew. Scarlet had been especially eager to introduce Cygnus to everyone so he could get started on putting together an epic tale of the Red Ribbon Pirates. She also considered that maybe she could convince him to stick around until they got to the Grand Line. That way he’d be in the Grand Line too and then he could spread their story to more important people.

Thoughts running through her head, Scarlet wasn’t paying too much attention to what laid in front of them for a few moments longer.

Then she blinked and noticed something that definitely caught her attention. Dark clouds lined the sky ahead of them. They were still quite a distance off, but it was enough for her to care about them. Turning around, Scarlet made her way up to the helm. “Jasper, you see those clouds too, right?” Scarlet inquired, her voice a bit shaky. “I think we should see if there’s a way to avoid them.”

She glanced around, searching for any obvious places they could go. Of course, without a map, finding somewhere to go was impossible. Good thing they had a map, though. Well, Rena had a map. Maybe Rena could find a way to avoid the storm.

Limstella

Limstella was currently puking into the salty waters of the ocean. A few huffs to catch her breathe when she was done throwing up. "Well then if this keeps up I'm going to become unhealthy, but does it matter? It'll be over soon" Limstella muttered to herself. She took out the handkerchief that man gave to her, and wiped her mouth before holding to look at the sea. There was no oddities so far except for the storms. "Great but since our captain saw it I don't have to do anything" She sat down, and leaned against the ship's wall.

She looked to see Jasper, and the captain, a few other who were on board the ship. She unlatched her book from her skirt, and opened it. Producing a pen from her sleeve, she started to jot things down. After a few moments she reattached it, and had smooth sailing from there. She got up, and put her arms on the ship's bulwark or something, and scanned the area quickly.

Cletus T. Bass

Cletus had been a bit surprised by the Red Ribbon Pirate's good fortune. Either the marines had been too busy to notice the Charybdis or they were fooled by the merchant flag. Either way it didn't matter. With a shipshape Charybdis, Cletus didn't have a whole lot to worry about at the moment. When he wasn't doing his ship rounds to find anything broken to fix, he was scanning the ocean horizon for marines, rival pirates, or sea monsters. Neither of these hazards had occurred...yet. The ocean was big, but not big enough to avoid everything that could get in a pirate's way.

Currently Cletus stood with his back leaning against the ship's railing. He was visibly armed and smoking a cigarette as usual. As he looked up at the sky he hoped one of the newspaper delivery birds would fly by. Cletus wanted to check the newspaper to see the new wanted posters. Maybe he'd be lucky enough to see one labeled Deadeye Cletus: Wanted Dead or Alive. Cletus took a drag on his cigarette and grumbled to himself. It was strange that he was looking forward to having a bounty. As a civilian he had been taught that pissing of the marines was one of the stupidest things you could do, and putting bullet holes in one is a quick way to do so. He'd probably be unlucky enough to have a higher starting bounty. Stealing a merchant flag wouldn't help much either...if the marines ever found out about that.

Cletus' cigarette helped calm his paranoid nerves. Out of his thoughts and aware of his surroundings, Cletus noticed the brewing storm clouds. His usual scowl didn't leave his face as he stared at the clouds. Depending on how things went, he'd definitely have something to repair. Though the storm would have to throw Grand Line level danger at the Charybdis to fully breach the interior of the ship, thanks to the metal lining he installed back at Mirstone.

Rena Heartwood

Sailing had been smooth up until they were reaching their goal, the island of Ultimas, when typically, things started to go a little pear shaped. Prior to the ominous clouds, there had been a relatively jovial mood on the ship and Rena was unsure whether to open up or not. She was after all going to be spending a fair amount of time with them so the case for honesty was compelling - still honesty required trust and she had no reason to do despite her Captain's nonchalant view on the matter. In truth though Rena couldn't get over what she had seen and hadn't felt like talking. The explosion and all the lives that had been lost took a toll on her that she knew would live with her. She had requested from Scarlet that she take some time to herself, which the red haired belle agreed upon.

As the ship was nearing its destination, Rena came out of her room to be greeted with the sound of someone throwing up over the side. It wasn't the first time she would see this and she doubted it would be the last, but every time she did the overwhelming urge to join them tugged at her intestines. She swallowed hard and looked out where Scarlet was pointing. The sky.

Her attention, at that current moment, was not on group dynamics or social interactions; nor was it on the events that had shook her very core. Scarlet's instincts were spot on - there was a storm coming and it was a ship wrecker. Rena's eyes went huge: the cloud formations and the eerie colour of the sky indicated one thing - a tornado. The Charybdis was sturdy, especially after the enhancements, but not many ships could withstand that kind of beating.

"Jasper....hard port side. Tornado is coming and it's a big one! Get the sails up!" As she spoke she spotted purple lightning dancing through the clouds and cursed herself - she'd left her weather measuring instruments at home; she hadn't imagined that she'd actually become a navigator but now she was one she was ill prepared. Don't kid yourself Rena - had you been out here instead of acting all depressed in your room you would have spotted this a while back; This could have been predicted much sooner, but as it was hail was dropping from the sky and the winds were picking up dangerously. It wouldn't be long before the waterspout dropped from the heavens.

Still, thanks to their Captain, they had caught it early enough that they would be able to circumvent the whole thing. The ship rocked as she began to move, they had cut it close but Rena felt certain the danger had been averted. The detour added a good few hours to their journey but she'd rather that than sleeping with the fishes. She was a little disappointed with herself.

"Sorry Captain, I should have spotted that sooner - when we land I'll get some navigating tools - I'm a little ill prepared for this, truth be told. And....I was a little self indulgent with my emotions - forgive me." Rena said keeping her eyes on the clouds. Tornadoes had a habit of just doing whatever the hell they wanted. "Grand line, from what I read is full of shit...uh...stuff like this, but worse and even less predictable. Rest assured, I'll get us through it!"

Rena looked at Nerissa "You are in touch with the sea. Does that include weather patterns that affect it?"

Scarlet Johanna Indigrid

Scarlet's eyes trailed out along the deck of Charybdis as she watched for her crew members, trying to gauge their reactions to what seemed to be coming and hoping she saw someone reacting in a similar manner to her own. However, that was not what her eyes fell upon. Instead, she quickly noticed that Limstella was throwing up over the edge of the ship. On it's own, that wasn't good. With the coming storm added into the mix, Scarlet knew that that problem would only grow.

The captain promptly turned, knowing that Shannon would be close by. Addressing the doctor, Scarlet requested, "Can you go check on Limstella, Shannon? If her stomach's struggling now, it isn't about to get any easier." While it could not be doubted that she did care about her crewmate, Scarlet also did not want to risk getting vomit somewhere it didn't belong... particularly her own wardrobe or her hair. Who knew what could happen in a storm?

Scarlet certainly wasn't about to make any optimistic predictions.

As Rena walked out to them and took notice of the situation, Scarlet's eyes grimaced when hail started falling down. 'This is not good...' she realized quickly.

"Is there an island we could go that gets us out of the storm's direct path for now? Anything? I really really don't think we should try fighting that storm." By saying she didn't think they should fight the storm, Scarlet meant that she didn't want to. Even more so, she was afraid to. It wasn't a fear she was about to admit, though. What kind of pirate was afraid of storms, after all? Certainly none of the good ones were, and Scarlet wanted to be the best that there was.

If Rena looked, she would see on the map that there was. Like most others, it was unlabeled and that was apparently completely normal.

Jasper Pharos

Jasper steered the ship on course as he thought over the last few days. The crew seemed a relatively lively bunch, except for Shae and Limstella that is. Shae just seemed subdued as he followed Jasper or Scarlet around everywhere. Limstella had seasickness, which seemed a bit worse. Jasper would say so, but he had to clean what didn't go over the side.

He noted however that the exploding city of Mirstone had affected some. He could only wonder who was responsible and what kind of bounty they'd receive should they have escaped. Which made him wonder about his own bounty, as well as the possible bounties of those aboard. Hopefully they'd get a newspaper with the recent round of bounty papers in it.

He was shaken from his thoughts as Rena and Scarlet yelled out about a storm. Jasper immediately followed Renas direction, knowing all too well the importance of a navigators orders. "Do we have a destination in mind, or am I just going wide around the storm?!" Regardless of which, he had to admit those clouds didn't look good.

Scarlet's orders made sense - she fancied docking and waiting for the storm to pass; it was a nasty one and according to the map there was something resembling an island not too far. Of course the map had looked like it had been drawn by a drunken monkey using its feet, but she assumed the squiggles meant that land was near.

Orientating her compass to align with the map she asked Jasper to move the ship a few degrees west; that's where the unnamed island lay.

"Well, let's hope it isn't a Marine base" she quipped. She had her sea legs, but she didn't care much for being out to sea for great lengths of time. She liked food and variety was definitely her spice of life when it came to it. Their chef was pretty good, but they had run out of chicken a while ago and she wanted to sink her teeth into some fried chicken, with some creamy mashed potatoes and gravy... Her stomach made an audible growl.

"Uhhh...ship sure is a bit creaky today! Heh..." her smile couldn't be more forced.

She walked towards Jasper, "Hey so when we dock, you fancy hanging out and maybe answering a couple of questions of an interview like nature?" she smiled sweetly. He was a bit of a mystery to be honest; his manners and poise hid something that she couldn't quite put her finger on - but every once in a while she would get....a feeling. And it wasn't a good one. She'd have to be especially tactful with him, and she had the feeling that it wouldn't be as easy as the others.

In the distance the silhouette of their destination appeared and with it, the promise of chicken...

Nerissa and Arlen

"You are in touch with the sea. Does that include weather patterns that affect it?"

“I can’t control the weather if that’s what you mean,” Nerissa replied simply, not quite looking at Rena while she spoke.

All of Nerissa’s focus was on the needle in her hand as she worked to sew together the tattered remains of Arlen’s sleeve-less, red jacket…which she’d asked some of her marine friends to retrieve…along with their damaged canoe. Really. Why the boy felt like ripping his clothing to pieces was beyond her. It wasn’t as if he’d been able to prevent their wooden boat from sinking. The aqua haired priestess winced as the pointy item once again stung her finger. A bit of blood leaked from the tiny laceration and she brought it to her lips.

Arlen, who was seated crossed-legged beside Nerissa’s chair, rolled his eyes. “There’s really no need for you to do this Lady Nerissa. That jacket’s a lost cause.”

Nerissa didn’t reply. She simply shook her head and pursed her lips, her eyes narrowed in concentration, as she continued where she’d left off. Nerissa had been trying for nearly three days to get the jacket fixed—with many bandaged fingers as proof her effort. She would be swallowed up by Aquarius’s wrath before she gave up now.

“Besides, a storm is coming. Don’t you think that’s more important?”

“mmm,”

Arlen let out a long, obviously exasperated sigh. The dark-skinned teenager wearing a plain white shirt--since his jacket was now a mess of fabric--pushed himself to his feet and moved to help Jasper with the sails. Speed was required and having the helmsman away from the helms for too long probably wasn’t a good idea. Worst come to worst, they would have to de-rigg the ship, ride the storm, and pray the Charybdis didn’t capsize. Fortunately that didn’t happen. Rena, the journalist navigator, seemed to have found an island where they could wait for the storm to pass and had given Jasper the direction. Climbing onto the crow’s nest like an acrobat, Arlen leaned far forward, his a hand shading his eyes.

“I don’t think it’s a marine base.” Arlen called down as the island drew closer. Then he shrugged. “But then, I’ve never seen one before so I wouldn’t know.”

He chuckled when he heard Rena’s stomach growl and rested his elbows against the edge of the nest, peering down at her, Jasper, and the rest of the crew that was on deck. He commented playfully. “Seems like Miss Reporter didn’t get lunch. Meanwhile Miss Limstella is throwing up hers. Funny how things work out.”

Just as he said this a large white bird flew past his face—on its way to the island where they were headed to it seemed. Well, wasn’t that just a nice coincidence. Perhaps the bird was trying to escape the storm too. Turning around swiftly, Arlen reached forward and grabbed the creature by the leg—causing the creature to flap and squawk wildly. He couldn’t say what sort of bird it was…since he’d never seen it before. Arlen held it upside down in front of him.

“Do you think the chef knows how to cook this…whatever it is?”

Watanabe Hotaka Wasabi

                   (Family)             (Middle)           (Given)

A large shadow loomed over Narissa and Arlen as they inquired if the cook knew how to prepare the bird. The giant, Watanabe Hotaka Wasabi, appeared in the usual garb of shinobi clothing with various weapon pockets all topped off with the wide rice hat that shadowed his face. Stepping up to Arlen, Wasabi responded, "I would be a rather useless cook if I did not know how to prepare fowl. However, it is not in my practice to torment creatures needlessly. Let us respect our bounty."

The giant reached forward to take the bird. Holding the bird close to himself, he eased it back on its feet and began to pet it. The bird clung to his hand in fright as it looked around and squawked loudly. It had wanted to spread it's wings and fly away, but between the petting and being held so close, the bird did not have enough room to fly away. However, it seemed to calm down in Wasabi's hands. Then the cook looked back up and added, "Respect is a much more effective trap than fright. Either way, that was a good catch though."

Shannon had enjoyed much of his days since leaving Mirstone. After the initial shock at the explosion, and eventually coming out of  from below deck, Shae had been quite surprised at how calm everything was. Even if he was just following around either Jasper or Scarlet around most of the time, there was no doubt in his mind that not being yelled at, or having orders barked at him on a regular basis had been a welcome reprieve, if not a little odd or unsettling.

Thus far it had been the way of things, simply doing as he was told on the rare occasion he was told to do things, and while he has been enjoying it, the current weather whipping at his robes and practically buffeting him across the deck. Still, he had received an order minutes ago to go aid the sea sick crew member. Yet still he stood near the main mast, using it for support and keeping himself on his feet as the ship rocked. Of course it helped greatly that he had sunk his claws into the wood as well, and was finding himself hard pressed to will himself to retract them. Of course if he failed, who would get beaten? There weren't any other children, right?

But the chance...

Breathing deeply, the mink forced himself to pull his claws from the wood he'd anchored himself to and fight his way across the deck to Limstella, pulling a bundle of odorous herbs. They wouldn't smell good, but the smell had a habit of settling people down and helping them calm themselves. This included their stomachs if needed. Feeling rather proud of himself for managing to convince himself to help Limstella, Shae went to move back to Jasper went the ship jerked sideways as a wave hit it.

Not ready for the motion in the slightest, Shae fell sideways, hit the railing and tipped right over. Fuelled by panic and adrenaline Shannon's hands shot out and the second he felt them hit the hull his claws shot out. Swinging in towards the ship, tears formed in the mink's eyes as his body swung down and slammed into the side of the ship painfully. He would have stayed there for a moment if not for the crest of the wave that lapped at his feet. Scrambling fearfully, Shannon clambered up the side of the ship and through the space of the railings until he felt the deck under foot once more.

Quickly making his way back to the mast, the mink used a length of rope to tie himself off to the mast before sinking his claws right back into the mast, intent on staying there until they got clear of the weather.

Limstella

Limstella only smiled at the gestured as Shannon gave her the herbs. She took it, and enjoyed the smell. "Better then Durian" She said as she held onto the bundle, as she looked at the sea. She still felt a little queasy, but it was bearable to say so. She leaned on the railings, and observed the surroundings. Still stormy, but so far no ships or anything dangerous what so ever. Whatever was under the water stayed in the water she hoped, as she took a quick glance down.

"Now what to do after I get off" Limstella muttered to herself, as the bundle of herbs almost slipped off her hand. She stowed it away in her sleeves somehow, before returning her glances towards the sea. She unhooked one of her books, and started to write something, before closing it for another book to read it. Something called 'Mother Earth, and Father Sky'. She leaned against the railing as she read, taking a few glances off towards the sea. Taking out a apple she stowed away, she threw it into the sea for a reason unknown to her.

Scarlet Johanna Indigrid

Though it didn't show because she turned away in the moment, Scarlet was terrified of the storm that had turned them off the path they'd intended to follow. She used to have people try to tell her that it was a reasonable fear given what had happened and she also used to have people tell her it was 'just a storm' and that there was nothing to worr about. In all honesty, she wasn't sure which she preferred as neither was really any amout of comfort for her. Scarlet briefly hoped that none of the crew noticed her fear because she didn't want to endure those attempts at comfort.

"I would really really appreciate it if we could stop," she emphasized in response to Jasper's question. She was glad, then, when it turned out that Rena seemed to plan on landing as well. Scarlet was relieved that she didn't need to explain further.

Seeing that Rena seemed to decide it was time to have a conversation with Jasper, Scarlet took the moment to peer over the edge of the ship, her eyes intently focused on teh storm as her nervousness boiled. She needed a distraction and it seemed more and more as though the members of her crew were all busy enough.

Lightning flared across the sky. Thunder soon followed. Scarlet flinched at the sound and then she turned to walk across the deck. "I'm going to go grab boots and a coat," she uttered to Rena and Jasper as she walked past, "so that I'm ready to head out when we land. I have no interest in being on a ship when the storm hits." There was an edge to her voice that would be unfamiliar to anyone who was used to her normal jubilance - which was more or less everyone in her crew.

She said nothing more as she walked across the deck and made her way briefly into the captain's quarters. Scarlet then came out wearing Blue Rose Fashion boots, both stylish and functional, and a coat that would keep the rain; from soaking her clothes when the rain came. It was then that she noted the group that was assembling in the middle of the deck. Then the ship rocked violently after a wave hit and once again, Scarlet flinched. Only when she'd managed to recover did she call out, "Anyone who wants to get out of the storm should get themselves ready to come ashore with me when we land." It was clear in her tone that she was eager to get ashore herself.

The island was rapidly approaching now and there was nothing within sight from this side of the island. It seemed to be slightly forested although even from this distance, there were signs of a population which could have been either a good thing or a bad thing depending on how the situation was approached.

Without watching to see who was going to come with her, Scarlet headed below deck and peered around. "Cygnus!?" she called out for the storyteller who had developed a habit of hiding. "We're going to be landing on an island to avoid a storm. Are you still planning on leaving us there?" It was clear she didn't want to lose the storyteller so soon.

@AllHailDago @vergil @QuirkyAngel @CelticHero37 @Pequeno Burraidh @TheForgottenDoll @Felix

Side Note: I didn't want to have the ship land right away in this post. Do not feel obligated to post right away. I will have another post up this weekend most likely.

Scarlet and Cygnus

"Cygnus!?" A voice called that was all too familiar. It startled Cygnus. He was sitting with his knees up to his skin below deck, trying to keep his balance while the ship rocked back and forth. Cygnus really hated storms. On islands they were just these nasty, noisy clouds that made you wet, but out here on the open sea they were downright scary. Cygnus flinched as another thunderclap rolled through the sky. "We're going to be landing on an island to avoid a storm. Are you still planning on leaving us there?" Cygnus sighed.

The truth was, he was not just hiding for the storm. He was also hiding from Scarlet. For three days Scarlet had pushed him to collect the backstories of her crew mates. He was sure she meant well, but Cygnus could not deal with all the agony in these people’s lives. That was, if the crew members actually told their story truthfully. Or if they wanted to talk to him at all. Why couldn’t Scarlet ask Rena for this, she was a natural interrogator, but no, Scarlet had to ask him. He also felt flattered, but that didn’t matter of course. It was just nice to something polite that he actually meant.

“Ehm, I … eh … I haven’t really decided yet.” He answered in a small voice. He hadn't really gotten the time to think about it with all the new, and mostly frightening impressions. “However I am dying to get away from this storm. M-maybe I can come ashore with you and we can s-see from there?”

Scarlet nodded, not really taking much note of the fact that Cygnus was very obviously afraid. In truth, it probably would have been better if she had noticed it because it was something they had in common - a fear of storms. It might have given them both some comfort to know that the fear was shared. However, she wasn't paying that much attention.

"You can definitely come ashore with me. I'm not sure who else will come with, but I don't mind either way," she replied. "I don't want to stay on the ship during a storm either."

The ship rocked again, and Scarlet's balance wavered before her hand reached out to catch the hull of the boat, keeping herself from collapsing onto the floor of the ship. She shook just a little, truly hoping that despite the storm, they were still approaching the island that she had seen approaching just before she'd disappeared below deck. As she pushed herself back to her feet, her eyes found Cygnus again.

"I think we'll be staying on the island tonight for sure."

Cygnus wanted to help her get up. He really did. He was just not that strong on his legs, the uncontrollable shivering didn't help either. He was relieved to hear that he did not have to sleep on the ship, or rather, cower in his hammock while he wouldn't be able to close his eyes. "I ... I would like that. Very much. Is this island you speak of already close enough that I can make a go for it as fast as my legs can carry me? O-otherwise I think I'll stay here for a little bit longer."

"I don't... I don't really know how close we are. I guess I'll go back up and check," Scarlet mumbled.

She jogged back up the stairs quickly and glanced around the deck. Not much had changed in her crew's whereabouts, but she did manage to catch a glance of the island again. Another wave crashed into Charybdis and Scarlet was jolted forward, her feet carrying her to the rail where her hands gripped it firmly and turned her knuckles white. A shiver ran through her spine, surprised by the ferocity of the winds, but she did manage to learn one good thing from it. The waves were pushing them towards the island. It was close now.

One more wave and Charybdis washed up on shore.

"We're here!!" she called out so loud that no one would miss it. Without a moment's hesitation, Scarlet moved to the gangplank and lowered it down before swiftly bringing herself on to the shore.

Cygnus was trying to follow Scarlet outside as fast as possible, which was not fast at all. He used his arm against the wall to keep himself upright, but whenever the ship turned over the wrong way he would clash into the other wall with his wing inbetween. It hurt quite a lot. He managed to get to the door just as Scarlet was blown away. Cygnus shrieked like a little girl. He didn't want to go outside. On the other hand, going outside was the only option if he wanted to get to land. Cygnus mind was in dilemma. Part of him wanted to go back inside and be miserable, but safe. Another part wanted to use his powers to get to land although he knew very well that it wasn't an option either. He hadn't shown his power to the crew because he didn't fully trust them yet. Now was not the moment that that would suddenly change. Hell, he didn't even show his wings to them in the fear that they would recognize it from the quite peculiar wanted poster.

He made up his mind. He dropped down on his knees and hand and started crawling forwards. Even like that it was very hard to get to the other side. He was soaking wet in no time and the wind chilled him to his bone. Cygnus paid no attention towards his surroundings. He wanted stable ground underneath his feet, not this slippery ghosthouse walk. He made it to the gangplank with little to no damage. However, on the gangplank itself it went wrong. He miscalculated where he put his hand. It slipped away and it send Cygnus somersaulting down. He landed face first in the sand, next to where Scarlet was standing. He didn't really feel ashamed at that moment. He was so relieved that he was on stable ground again made him cry. He almost wanted to kiss the sand. It was already al over his face anyways.

For about 10 seconds he stayed down. Then he collected himself and got up next to the captain. "So..." He said slowly while wiping the sand of his clothes. "W-what do we do now?"

"It looked like there were some buildings in the middle of the island. We'll probably go there," Scarlet replied.

Turning around, she looked back to the rest of the crew. "Anyone else coming?"

Jasper Pharos

Jasper held the wheel tightly in place as he led them on course towards the specified island. The waters were quite rough and he was actually having a slight bit of trouble keeping the helm under control. He counted himself lucky he had thought to purchase more water resistant spray for his glasses on Mirstone. He would not have been pleased if a storm forced him to remove them.

He kept his eyes on Lady Scarlet when he could and found himself a tad impressed. She seemed to be controlling her fear in front of the crew at least mildly well. Perhaps she had worked on it since his first time seeing her phobia in action. Or perhaps she was just good at acting tough when it was more than the two of them. Either way, he was admittedly a bit impressed.

As they neared the island Rena approached him. The rain seemed to have messed with her normally very well kept hair. How unfortunate, perhaps Scarlet has hair care products she might be willing to share to remedy that. She asked about an interview and he thought it over for a moment.

They were all likely to know eventually, and as far as he had seen none of them were likely to use the information to turn him over. Perhaps.... "I do not see an issue with an interview. However I withhold the right to refuse to answer any questions I am not comfortable with." He nodded to Rena.

He then concentrated once more on maneuvering them safely to the island. However it turned out the storm was pushing them towards it, so he simply made sure they did not head straight into rocks or something of the like. Thankfully they made it safely, if a bit roughly, to the island. Lady Scarlet inquired about those who were coming.

"I am going to stay to secure and safeguard the ship for now, Lady Scarlet. Rena has asked of an interview as well. If she would like to conduct that now she is free to stay and do so. I, or we, will be after the rest of you shortly I am sure."

Cletus watched as Arlen caught a bird and started having a conversation with Wasabi. Now wasn't the time to think about food. As the storm brewed, Cletus ran across the deck and tied down anything loose. It wasn't the easiest feat as the Charybdis rocked in the wind. Cletus managed to keep his sea legs, but the lurching feeling in his stomach as his lunch rocked around didn't make things comfortable either. The feeling in his stomach triggered thoughts about his seasick crewmate; hopefully the ship's dock had seen in her time. At the moment Shae was a bit tied up.

With his work done, all that was left for Cletus to do was to wait until the Red Ribbon Pirates docked. As he waited, the rain drenched his cigarette and managed to put it out. Cletus grumbled before he flicked it overboard. He scowled at the island and noticed what could be buildings, but buildings only meant that the island was populated. "I'm goin' with you, Captain," Cletus replied gruffly to Scarlet's question. As much as he'd enjoy giving the Charydbis a quick look over for storm damage, Shae's claws probably did more damage than the store itself. "You're gonna need my guns if ya run into any trouble."

As Cletus walked onto the beach, he began to wonder what kind of trouble the Red Ribbon Pirates would run into this time. Giant wild animals? Cannibals? The local government? Marines? If Mirstone was any suggestion, Captain Scarlet would need his help regardless.

                   (Family)             (Middle)           (Given)

The shadow cook continued to pet the bird calmly as his attention was drawn to the captain. She seemed to move rather efficiently compared to some other members of the crew, despite the effects of the storm. This was one of those little details that Wasabi tuned into. Without speaking a word, he already knew she had experience on the sea. This captain meant business. However, Wasabi couldn't help but chuckle at the fact that people seemed to be more willing to slam into a railing or something rather than adopting an abnormal stance to brace for an impact. It's as if they were too stubborn to respect the waves of the water. Or perhaps it was that their minds were too distracted for them to pay proper attention to the water.

Since balance was key to staying afloat on his little cormorant vessel that he called Sen, Wasabi had become quite accustomed to the whims of the water. Though many found them to be random, he knew better. As in everything as he understood it, energy flowed through the water. Not only that, it also held a close connection with the air. By staying in tune to the surroundings, Wasabi had no trouble with the tossing waves. All he had to do was occasionally reposition his center of gravity as he sensed a change in energy flow. When the ship was hit by a big wave that sent many against a railing, Wasabi simply tilted his head - unwavering as droplets of water rained harmlessly down on his rice hat. However, this pattern changed after the captain's orders.

Looking up from the bird in his hands, Wasabi called out, "You Heard the Captain! You've got two choices... one if you want to eat!"

Once the shadow look had made his announcement, he sensed an oncoming wave. He adjusted his weight accordingly. However, as the wave impacted the ship, Wasabi was thrown over the railing down toward the main deck. Or rather, he appeared to be thrown. In reality, the giant had used the momentum to preform a flip down to the main deck. Without touching the deck, the cook hopped across three barrels, a cannon, a railing, and finally the gangplank before lighting in the soft sand next to the captain. The only hitch was the protests of the bird in his arms.

Looking past the man that had rolled on the ground, he said, "Count me in Captain."

Limstella

When Scarlet said that they would go boarding into a town, this was her chance. After this she would finally leave the group, unless they were persist to find her. Like what would they need her? A useless lookout who can't even fight, only stall. Limstella was used to living in any climate, and only had troubles for settling in. "I guess I'll come" Limstella said as she looked towards the Captain. She went onto the gankplank, and jumped off into the sand. She landed as she looked around.

Everything seemed to be fine. If there weren't any anomalies she could see. The place looked rather normal, but from where she was you could only tell. On the other hand she hoped that they didn't attract marines here, or else this place would be rendered out of livable means. The only exception is that the Marines didn't notice her, and even then someone my snitch on her. Either way she would have to proof her fake loyalty to this group of pirates,

Arlen

Arlen shrugged when the cook showed up, easily releasing his hold the fowl when Wasabi reached for it. “You’re going to kill it anyway, right?”

He watched the chef handle the bird, petting it. Reassuring it that everything was going to be alright, even though it was going to be eaten. It seemed like a lot of extra work for a meal to Arlen, but it made sense, he supposed. Catching flies was probably easier with honey. He grinned at the oriental chef’s last minute compliment, his head rested against clasped hands. “Wasn’t that difficult.”

He frowned, as his gaze flickered up to the sky. It seemed they hadn’t escaped the storm after all. He’d grown complacent, having been traveling with Aquarius’s chosen daughter for a year. Their small canoe hadn’t faced much damage at sea until the fiasco at Mirestone.“Oi! Aren’t you supposed to lower the sails a bit when a storm hits?”

His voice was lost amidst the bellow of thunder. Stumbling a bit, Arlen kept managed to remain on his feet despite the motion beneath him as a strong gust of wind hit the sails. A Leviathan who couldn’t deal with the water’s rage was no Leviathan. He glanced at Nerissa as rain began to descend.

Nerissa

Letting out an annoyed huff, one uncharacteristic of the Priestess of Water, Nerissa folded the folded the red fabric she’d been working on. The rocking of the boat wasn’t going to let her finish.

If that is Aquarius will, then so be it.

She wasn’t particularly bothered by the rain drops, though the strong winds were rather uncomfortable. One hand held onto a rope attached to the mast to keep her balance, while the other clutched tightly onto her skirt. Unlike Scarlet, who seemed to be a bit terrified of storms, or the rest of the crew—except for Wasabi— who at least seemed to be wary, Nerissa showed no fear. To the crew she spoke.“You don’t fight Aquarius’s rage. You can only ride it. ”

Closing her eyes, the gem on her forehead glowed lightly as she muttered prayers which continued until the boat landed on shore.

“Lord Aquarius in your mercy pardon any grievances. Through howling winds, we wandering souls of the Charybdis beseech you to guide us. Lead your children to where they want to go. Where they are needed to be.”

When the shaking stopped, Nerissa opened her eyes, her gaze serene. Scarlet and the rest of the crew seemed to be hurrying off the boat with the exception Jasper and Rena. Arlen was beside her.

“Well, Lady Nerissa? Shall we disembark the Charbydis? Jasper’s taking care of the ship. Hopefully he’ll find a place secure it so it doesn’t get stolen. Or too badly damaged by the storm.”

“You seem eager.”

“I wanna see what that bird tastes like.”

Nerissa nodded. “Yes, let’s disembark. If Aquarius led us here, then there must be a reason.”

“We’re coming!”

Nerissa shook her head, smiling softly as Arlen hurried down the gangplank after Wasabi. Nerissa moved to follow, the partially fixed tatters of Arlen's jacket folded over her arm.

Elisa Pentana

After arriving on the island, Elisa quickly found that the man who only had the title of "Leader" seemed to be more than willing to help her get comfortable and to settle in. He understood that the incoming storm could drive anyone to seek shelter wherever they could find it and although that was not her reason for being there, Elisa was more than willing to roll with it. They had a tavern with an inn and it seemed that even on a stormy day, the people of The Hallows knew how to get their time in drinking. It wasn't to be unexpected.

When she was finished arranging all her things in the room she had been given, Elisa headed back downstairs and into the little tavern area that the place had well established. She took her time allowing her eyes to peruse over all the people and her eyes fell on one interesting looking woman in particular. The woman was looking over an odd arrangement of shining stones. Elisa's curiosity was peaked. She walked closer to the woman to watch her more closely.

Fingertips traced over shining smooth stones and the woman's eyes were closed as though divining something or other and Elisa found herself being drawn even closer. "Uhm, excuse me," she called to the woman, hoping to snap her out of what looked like a simple trance.

It seemed that it was something of the sort because the woman's eyes blinked open and she gazed at Elisa. "Hmm," she hummed softly to herself. "You will have good fortune on this day, girl. What might I be able to do to help you find that good fortune?"

Elisa was hesitant. She didn't actually believe in fortune-telling and neither did she believe that any one individual would ever be able to see into her future. Swallowing swiftly, she knew that she just had to ask what was on her mind. "I was told you have an artifact here and I'm writing a book. I wanted to see it so that I might be able to write about it and you seem like somone who would know..." ... who would know where to find it. She didn't quite finish her sentence, though.

"Who told you it was here?" the woman's face became very stern.

Fearing that she had made a mistake, Elisa's expression welled up in fear.

Then the woman smiled and started laughing quite loudly. "Don't let it bother ya! It's no big deal. Come... I'll show ya!" Pushing her chair away from the table, the woman stood up and left the stones sitting on the table while she led Elisa outside and into the wind and rain. The storm wasn't impossible to travel through yet, though.

Meanwhile, the question of what she left behind remains. The stones on the table grew one less as a boy picked one up thinking that it was candy. It didn't taste very good and because of that, it didn't get put back where he'd found it. Instead, it ended up on the floor where it would scarcely be seen.

Shannon was more than ready for them to be beached, but it didn't stop the act of them slamming into the beach to shock him any less as his body jerked against the ropes he'd used to tie himself to the mast. It made him regret his decision rather quickly as he could already tell that the areas where the ropes had pulled at his body were likely going to bruise, but remembering his trip almost into the sea he remembered that he really couldn't complain too much about how it had all happened.

When he finally found himself standing, his robe somewhat obscuring his view as he was only just realising it had been drenched at some point, likely by the wave that had found him when he had nearly fallen overboard, Shannon reached up to adjust his hood as he saw everyone start to file off the ship. Well, everyone except for Rena and Jasper, the latter of which he realised he would likely need to report to. Briefly he entertained the idea of following Scarlet... she wasn't ever mean to him but... well, he never left the ship when it made port. Making his way across the deck to the man, Shannon fought against the shivers that the wind whipping through his sodden clothes instilled in him as he reached into his bag.

See, this wasn't the first time he'd had to deal with inclement weather, especially storms, and due to the nature of his communicative standards it had long ago been deemed important that his writing utensils were largely weather proof. His parchment was all treated to be water resistant, though a swim would likely change that rather quickly, but it meant that it was not ruined. Drawing a piece out, Shannon made his way towards the well dressed man before his thoughts returned to Limstella's sickness, and his eyes fell on Rena. Approaching the woman meekly Shae quickly scribed out his words.

~Are you feeling well miss Rena? I have plenty of herbs for you if the storm has made you feel unwell.~

Keeping his eyes down towards the deck, the mink did his best to keep from shivering too much as he held the message out for the woman to see.

Arrival: The Hallows

Scarlet had her little group assembled and she was perfectly content with those who were coming along and those who were staying. She trusted Jasper not to let the ship get destroyed and she trusted those who were joining her to manage not to cause too much trouble. Additionally, she was excited to have exploring buddies along the way. "Alright then. Let's head out!" She started leading the way onto the sandy beach, not quite knowing where she was going, but walking in the general direction of the buildings she had seen on the island's middle.

Skipping along, Scarlet was fairly excited about moving along because she was curious about who they would be meeting and what kinds of things they might find. It was her first time going on an exploring adventure with a whole crew in tow.

Unbeknownst to Captain Scarlet Johanna Indigrid, their presence on the island was already known. A watcher observing the south side of the island had run in to town and was reporting thier presence to Leader. "Leader, we have more visitors approaching from the south. It's a larger group this time." the Watcher reported. "It also seems they left a few people behind at their ship," he added in as an afterthought.

Leader Dale Vroegan nodded and sighed. "It seems the storm is bringing us lots of guests today," he remarked. "We can manage, though." Not to mention, he was the Leader. If he couldn't manage it, there was a problem. Dale took a moment longer to consider the situation and then he looked back to the Watcher. "Send three of the Soldiers to meet me on the path. Then take yourself and a soldier and watch the ship." It was a clear cut decision and it made sense. Meeting up with a larger group could be dangerous and he also wanted to keep an eye on things at their ship. There was very little reason to give them too much trust.

"Of course, Leader. Right away." The Watcher ran off and Dale headed along the path without further thought or hesitation.

It was an interesting concept in The Hallows... soldiers. The island understood their purpose and maintained the integrity and the honor of such a position, but seeing how isolated they tended to be, it wasn't actually a position that had much use beyond that. Their history had seen wars, but they believed that they were free of them now. Yet, the still had competent "Soldiers" despite that.

It was in walking that Scarlet Johanna Indigrid and her little ensemble of pirates ran into Leader Dale Vroegan. At first, he was alone as it would no doubt take time for the Soldiers to receive their orders and arrive to back him. He was not afraid, though. In fact, he greeted them with the same cheer that he had greeted Elana earlier that same day. "Good afternoon! Welcome to The Hallows!"

"Hello!" Scarlet was quick to greet in reply. It was only an instinctual thing really. Even with an enemy, when someone said hello, you said hello in reply... at least, that was her thinking.

Because Dale's walk had taken some time and because the Watcher and the Soldiers he had fetched had been running rather than walking, it was in that moment that three men appeared behind Dale and stood with their eyes on The Red Ribbon Pirates. Glancing back at them, Dale nodded once and then turned back to the group in front of him. "Please excuse their late arrival. We figured it would be best to meet a group with a group." he shrugged, trying to make it seem as though there were no ill intentions. "Might I ask why you are here?"

It was in that moment that another chorus of thunder echoed in they sky and this time, Scarlet noticeably flinched. It took her a moment to process his words and to reply. "We seek shelter from the storm. I'd rather not risk damaging our ship and I'm sure my shipwright would feel the same." She glanced at Cletus briefly hoping he wouldn't mind the remark.

Dale's eyes watched Scarlet with a glimmering question. If they were seeking shelter, why were there still people on the ship? He didn't ask it, though. Instead he just waved his hand and started leading them towards the city.

Cletus T. Bass

Cletus followed Captain Scarlet on the beach and toward the buildings. He stopped when he spotted a man in their path. The man didn't seem hostile...at the moment, so Cletus didn't reach for one of his guns. For the moment he let Scarlet handle things with her optimism. Hopefully Scarlet would be able to alleviate any tension between the presumed local and the Red Ribbon Pirates. Cletus didn't feel to confident about that though. From what he had seen of Scarlet first hand, she's not the best at reading situations.

Cletus noticed that Scarlet was more phased by the thunder than the arrival of the other men. He didn't comment on it though. He was too focused on the other man and his group. A group to meet a group? Cletus wasn't born yesterday, these men were suspicious of them. "Sure you did....," Cletus muttered to himself as he placed a cigarette in his mouth. As much as he wanted to, he didn't light the cigarette; the rain probably would put it out again like his last one.

"We just started our journey, I'd rather not loose the ship this early," Cletus remarked after Scarlet mentioned the ship and crew title. The questioning glance from the stranger to Scarlet only added to his paranoia, but he followed after his Captain anyway. He mentally prepared to draw one of his guns if need be. Right now he didn't want to startle the locals any more than he already might have with his weapons visibly holstered.

Land Ho!

Or something of that nature!

There were a couple of things to get excited about. Averting death from tornado was one and perhaps what topped that was Jasper agreeing to the interview. Her mind quickly spun through the questions and actually made her rather dizzy, which was just when the ship's doctor came with a remedy. A leopard. That could do medicine.

In all honesty, Rena hadn't wanted to even touch the subject, preferring to ignore it completely because....it was a snow leopard . That could do medicine. This was such a far cry from her origins on a small island with its farming news that she found it difficult to even formulate thoughts regarding it. Still, she had encountered fishmen (though only a fleeting glance) and so snow leopards that could do medicine was.....still ridiculous. She was certain she saw a giant panda somewhere in Mirestone too....

Curiously she (Rena wasn't sure on the gender but would assume female - just as a hunch), never spoke. Perhaps she couldn't. Doctors that couldn't speak weren't unheard of (she facepalmed internally as she became aware of the unintentional pun), and honestly if she was going to be taken aback by anything about this person, it wasn't that she couldn't speak. At any rate, there were herbs on offer that would quell seasickness - perhaps that's what was wrong with her; she just wasn't aware of it. She read the note and nodded in acceptance. For some reason she felt that the non speaking should be responded in kind. It made no sense, but Rena's head was still spinning and she took the herbs and ate them. Bitter though mildly so - like some teas and she felt her dizziness subside.

She gave the snow leopard a thumbs up (again keeping with the non speaking) and a smile. She too wrote on a piece of paper; "I'd love to interview too! If you were willing? *insert heart and smiley face*" Upon receiving the leopards response Rena set her sights back on Jasper.

"Ok Mr. I'm going to say this outright - I've got a hunch that there is much more to you than meets the eye. Every once in a while I see something in your eyes - a glint of something dangerous, and perhaps it is foolhardy of me to poke around, but just like sailing ; sometimes you have to go through dangerous waters to get your prize."

"So...tell me about yourself and what lies behind that delightfully polite exterior" she asked with a smile and a piercing gaze, her pen clicked and ready!

Watanabe Hotaka Wasabi

Wasabi traveled in silence near the front of the group as Scarlet’s pirates approached the city. The sound of footsteps drew his attention up the road, where a lone man approached. Upon introduction, Wasabi concluded that this man was some sort of leader in the area. As a few other soldiers approached behind the man, Wasabi made a few more observations.

As the group was welcomed into the city, Wasabi felt it was best to let his captain know the situation he saw in front of them, as he didn’t know what to expect of the rest of the crew yet. Striking a pace that set him alongside the captain, Wasabi leaned down slightly and said, “Their numbers are small, but these men are fighters. It would be unwise to disrespect these people and their hospitality.”

Scarlet found herself nodding with Wasabi’s words. There was nothing really for her to disagree with and she had no intentions of disrespecting their hospitality. The captain herself just didn’t want to be at sea during a storm. The very thought of it terrified her for reasons she didn’t care to explain. “That seems reasonable enough. They’re nice people. We can be nice back.” What she didn’t realize was that she was probably just a bit too loud and could have reasonably been overheard.

One of the soldiers glanced in her direction, but none of them remarked on the matter. Wasabi glanced up as Scarlet made her comment, catching a glimpse of the soldier’s glance. Then, looking back to the captain, he added, “I don’t doubt your sincerity captain, but how many of this new crew of yours hold the same sentiment? One greedy finger could get the whole hand sheared.”

Scarlet smiled at the comment and her gaze drifted among the members of her crew who accompanied them. She trusted them… well, most of them. Scarlet didn’t know a lot about Cygnus, but she didn’t think he wanted to get himself into trouble. Nerissa was nice and Cletus… well, he had stolen something with her before but it had been under her orders. Arlen was another one she didn’t know much about but he seemed to stick with Nerissa pretty much like glue. As for Wasabi, she was certain he didn’t mean harm considering he was the one advising her at the moment in the first place.

After careful consideration, she replied, “I do not think we have anything to worry about.” She was honest in it, as honest as she usually was.

Straightening his posture in satisfaction, Wasabi commented, “Alright captain. But you just let me know if they cause any trouble now or in the future. My meals will match your impression of the men.”

As that conversation seemed to come to at least a temporary close, they arrived within the confines of a bustling town. Unlike when Dale had walked out of it, there were now people moving about and getting to their daily tasks and it seemed very bustling for how small it really was. “Well,” Dale waved his arms out in gesture, “This is our home. It’s simple enough and I rarely get any complaints. We have an inn that you should be able to stay at and we actually have another traveller in town. Very rare, actually…” It was more of a side comment than something that really meant anything.

In the moments after he spoke, two women walked by. Dale turned and nodded to them, addressing them both briefly with names. “Seer Jada, it is nice to see you on this particular morning,” he addressed one first.

“Good morning, Leader,” the “seer” addressed him back. “The lady here has asked to see the artifact. Isn’t that wonderful!?”

“Always exciting to get a visitor who appreciates history,” Dale replied with a smile. He waved briefly to the other woman who had arrived earlier that day and then his attention turned back to Scarlet and her crew.

Gesturing in the direction that the two women had come from, he added to them, “The inn is that way. Our Innkeepers would be more than delighted to get you settled in rooms.” The soldiers watched Dale strangely, unsure as to what was expected of them in such a situation.

Scarlet Johanna Indigrid

“Thank you!” Scarlet beamed at the man who’d escorted them in. She saw no reason to stick around and she really wanted to get inside before the storm truly hit. Another echo of thunder broke through the town and a quiver could be seen running through the captain’s normally excitable exterior. “I think we’ll do just that,” she added in loud enough that the rest of her crew could hear her. She wasn’t exactly ordering them to accompany her, but that was the most appreciated course of action in this situation.

Without glancing back to see who followed her, Scarlet headed in the direction of the inn.

Arriving at the location that had been pointed out to her, Scarlet was the first to notice that the place was actually quite crowded. It seemed that in this town, at least, the thing to do in a storm was to head inside and drink. That seemed to be what most of the people were doing. Knowing that it would calm her nerves a bit and knowing that it would also give her something to do, the captain of the red ribbon pirates headed over to the bar and ordered herself a drink before taking a seat.

Anyone in her crew who had followed along was, of course, invited to join her.

Charybdis

Back by the Red Ribbon Pirate ship, the storm was starting to be felt on a much more real level. There were no trees or buildings to block the wind and waves were crashing onto the shore quite prominently now, crashing into the ship as well in the process. It certainly wasn’t making it a pleasant experience for those who had chosen to remain on board and neither was it seeming as though it meant to relent anytime soon either.

What was more and yet unknown to them was that they were being watched. Two individuals had sheltered themselves in the trees, having found the perfect little spot to keep dry and also have a wonderful sight of those who wandered on deck. It was quite an interesting situation. What would they learn? What would happen next?

Elisa Pentana and Seer Jada

Making their way out of the main town, the two women headed deeper into the forest and it was there, buried in all the trees and all the undergrowth, that a small little temple had been constructed. Elisa’s eyes widened in awe and the seer watched her, recognizing in the younger girl’s eyes the amazement that she herself had once felt. “I didn’t think I would find something so grand when I came here,” Elisa was forced to admit as she followed the seer up the steps.

“There’s a reason why we keep ourselves a small little island. No one would expect such a thing here in the first place.” It was a logical explanation, and Elisa wasn’t there to ask questions. She was there to see the crown of Pyra because it was such an ancient artifact that the simple act of witnessing it was unspeakable.

“Of course.”

The door closed behind them and the very act of entering seemed to be marked as forbidden.

Announcement: There will be a timeskip of approximately 8 hours coming up within two weeks. If you would like to explore The Hallows at all, feel free and I’ll reply as needed. You’re also welcome to join Scarlet for a night of drinking. It should be fun!
