Gangly Mess of Hair
LEMNISCATE
A table of impossible colors sits in darkness. A checkerboard lays on it, partially set up. Black pieces wait for an opponent. A dismembered hand rises from the surrounding darkness, holding a white pawn, and places it. Another hand pokes out, Slowly, an army of white is set up. Polished marble pieces are ushered to their places by hands from the darkness. The hands hold up fifteen kings, all seemingly the same. Something ponders over which to choose. They suddenly reel away, leaving behind one, and the king is laid, gingerly. The game is ready to be played.
Ever came across someone that reused a story? Whether they carried over the setting, took a character and recycled them, or otherwise copied straight from a book, I'm sure you've met someone that pasted a certain idea. This roleplay is meant to be an experiment in that idea, an experiment I've used on multiple, small roleplaying websites. What I've done so far is taking what happens and making them have a ripple effect on future usages.
What I mean is that actions in previous usages of this roleplay affect future ones, for better or for worse.
Best hope the last people were good at their job.
If and when I decide to start this roleplay, a random character in this roleplay will have notes available to them, messaged to them by me. They will be very recent notes describing a group of people going through this world and discovering the perils and mistakes of past resets and figuring out how they're. Really though, it's just a log of everything that has happened in the last usage of this roleplay, but most of the important plot details will not be written.
Only one rule; divulge anything from the book, whether in part or in whole, and the worst outcome that can come from it will come true. This applies to whether you say it outright, whether you show it to them, whether you write it out, etc.
You could divulge that this pit is something you need to cross. Let it be your fault if someone is doomed to fall in. You can tell others to avoid that rock with symbols. Someone's going to anger it. Your role, if you have the notes, is to tell without telling, show without showing.
Leaving this here for feedback and interest. Don't chew me out, please; I'm new.
