Hey! It's awesome to meet you, I'm Rory, and I'm a twenty- two year old from the UK! Let me just preface by saying, this is an idea that I have had building for a very long time, and have a vast array of ideas that relate to the world I am looking to build with my partner here! Therefore, it is a very specific interest check, as I am looking to build a very specific story! I'll be attaching a short intro to the universe I'm looking to make, later on, but I want to clarify that I'm largely hoping for this to be a collaborative project, where both sides are contributing to forming the story, and it's not a god- modding venture on my part! Without further ado... Let's fall down this rabbit hole!

preface : this story deals with heavy themes, including organised crime, torture, drug use and death! ​

The clock strikes twelve, and Muse A realises that they are very late. To what, it seems harder to discern, peering over the stacks of papers and books that have been left discarded on their office desk, at the grandfather clock that faces the roaring fire in the hearth. An academic, a researcher, a valued, respected professor of theoretical sciences (a form of study consisting of the misunderstanding of riddles and the magic that comes from reading between the lines) Muse A is the peak of what a honourable Old City resident should be, staying within the walls that were built centuries ago to protect those worthy of protection, rewriting history to keep the hands of their fellows clean of the blood that lines their fortunes. So, that night, driven out of the comfort of their university lodgings by the knowledge that there is somewhere unplaceable that they are supposed to be, Muse A finds themselves walking the darkening city streets, knowing nothing more than they were supposed to be someplace else.

It was when the clock struck one that they saw the body fall from the towering spire of St. Magdalen’s church, hitting the pavement at their feet. It was seconds after that they realised the body at their feet belonged to not just anybody, but the beloved daughter of the university’s highmaster, a political titan with a reach extending across the law enforcement of the entire Old City. The regime of the policies employed by those in power had been held up by Muse A, and, to keep the perfect city perfect, Muse A had turned a blind eye to the mutilated corpses that would appear in the trinket- like coffins delivered to their families, or the students fed lie after lie to keep them complacent, and especially the all powerful university’s ties to the alleged underworld dealings that happened outside the Old City.

At two, with the church bells ringing out through the cold night air, Muse A learnt that hell was no longer just a theory of what might come after life. Accused of the murder of the girl who’d fallen to their feet, they were brought into a thorough interrogation at the hands of relentless law enforcement agents: an interrogation that revealed the hypocrisy of their world, a world that would torture and beat their victims into false confessions and imprison, murder or exile them as a result. Disgusted by their part in this system, but intelligent and reputable enough that their life could not be so easily disposed of, Muse A is exiled outside of the city walls, body left for the ravens that circled the spires of the smoky churches, and the statuettes that lined the heavily fortified gates.

Injured, traumatised and horrified by the injustice of it all, Muse A is left in the hands of an innkeeper on the city boundaries, a resting point for wayward travellers. It is here that they meet Muse B, waiting, legs crossed, eyes angled down to look at them, atop their bed, who only has one thing to say, “You are very late.”

This story will follow Muse A and Muse B, with my personal preference to play, being Muse B, as the two of them work through uncovering secrets that the two of us formulate, as well as slowly working through a wonderland- inspired world of crime and chaos, created by the both of us! I have a vast armarda of ideas I'm dying to share, including maps I'm in the process of drawing, and mafia leaders inspired by the characters of Alice in Wonderland. If you're interested, I'd be entirely happy to share these ideas as we build something together! For this plot, I'd rather play mxf or mxm, with no particular preference! Now, I'll outline my preferences!

THE BIGGEST THING IS THAT I HEAVILY PREFER DISCORD! A REALLY UNIQUE PARTNER CAN SWAY ME TO REMAIN HERE, BUT I PREFER TO GO OFF SITE!
➡ A purveyor of extortionately detailed, very descriptive posts, typically around three hundred words or so, but ranging up to one and a half thousand if a scene calls for it. For starters, and description- heavy scenes, my replies almost always exceed seven hundred words. My style is drier than some, I tend to walk the line between florid and introspective with my writing, keeping concise whilst still being bright and colourful.
➡ Regular replies. Take this with a grain of salt. Sometimes I can channel all my energy into a day of endless replies, one after the other, other times my replies are more sparse, once daily, or once weekly. It really just depends on my schedule and motivation level.
➡ No triggers! I have absolutely no triggers, whatsoever, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t respect yours. Anything that makes you even remotely uncomfortable will be steered entirely clear of. I say this with respect to site rules. This means NO ERP.
➡ Morally ambiguous, twisted sorts of characters. I’m a sucker for complex, dark characters who we can love to hate. I love villainous characters, or tragic anti- heroes, but mostly, real, believable people with real, believable motivations and pasts.
➡ I’m disabled with Autism, ADHD and a physical disability. That makes me often come across as atrociously awkward!
➡ OOC chat! I’m a sucker for out-of-character stuff. We don’t have to be best friends, but I like to build rapport with my partners, sending over memes and songs that remind me of the scenes we’re playing out, as well as making art of the characters, locations, etc!
➡ I play any characters, with no particular gender preference. I like mxm and mxf over fxf, but I’m down for all pairings!
➡ Ghost friendly! I know I’m guilty of ghosting! Of course, communication is always nice, but not required!

➡ Over eighteen, please! I wholly respect younger writers, but this is a comfort thing, due to my own age.
➡ No need for rapid fire responses, I know how busy life gets. I simply ask for updates if you’ll be gone for over two or three weeks! I get invested in these stories!
➡ Literate, please! I’m not asking for a novel in every reply, but I’d appreciate at least something to work with, meaning no one- liners! I’m not expecting absolutely perfect spelling or grammar, everyone’s human and we all make mistakes, but I’d like something mostly readable!
➡ Willing to help with plotting and world-building. I like being able to plan the next steps with my partner, rather than doing all the heavy lifting. It’s always most fun when we work together!
