In the beginning there was Surreal and nothing else. Surreal, being unable to property view itself thought that all that was, was nothing. Surreal died, however in it's wake there was more than nothing. Chiefly, there was Real, the world that all know as the arena where things flow unpredictably. Alongside, Real were the living gods, being that exist outside of Real, thus outside time and space. They are living gods because they will always be; from this point on there will be no grand absence as that of Surreal, now that a way of meeting was established. Life began on Real, became more and more complex, then there were humans. The difference with them was that they didn't necessarily have to go one way or the other, the living gods thought it appropriate that it was these aspects of Real that they would influence. Each sent an avatar of their being, possessing a fraction of their power yet instilled entirely with a motivation that the disparate entities thought intensely about in their separateness in the far plane. The following are the gods:

Ashura-- fire and contracts
Bellona-- domination and the just war
Real-- time and space
Surreal-- the beginning and the end
Mara-- Psychic connection and pure love,
Merrick-- night, beasts, and transformations
Sol-- Light and enlightment
Luna-- Disaster, and chaos
Janos-- distortion

The avatars changed humanity through various means, after eventually dying they were reborn and set out for the achievement of their goal yet again.
