Welcome to Healdsburg, populationโฆ you know, weโre not really sure of the last time the government remembered us long enough to take a census. Itโs not a lot though! Anyways, welcome to the little beach town known as Healdsburg! Itโs a beautiful place that is widely unknown, located on the coast of California. Healdsburg seems stuck in another time, lively and secluded from the rest of the country. No big stores or massive political movements here, just quiet, peaceful life.
Visitors and residents enjoy prime surfing water, beautiful neighborhoods full of unique houses, streets lined with small businesses. The walls are painted with bright colors, international flags hang from tall flagpoles with pride. Everyone is welcome in Healdsburg, greeted with warm smiles and eager tours. Our story begins in July, a month after the valiant class of 2022 graduated from high school. Summer was just beginning, heralding the return of dear faces deeply missed; schedules finally clear, lifelong friends reunited, ready for one last summer in their hometown before the impending reality of college and adulthood.
So little time, so much to do, so many people to see! How will our group of young Healdsburgians spend their summer? Grabbing a shake or shopping in the Plaza? Taking a trip back to nature at the reserve or park? Spending some down time by the Russian River, lazing on the beach or fishing in the clearest freshwater in the county? The summer is theirs for the taking! And whatever comes afterwards, well, that lies with them, tooโฆ
Hello! Gem, Mogy and Samm here with a slice of life set in the quaint little town of Healdsburg. This RP will follow a group of friends as they navigate their final summer before college and all that it entails. The idea is that these characters have grown up together; some have been away for some time, some never went very far, but now all are coming together as they face the final hurdle: adulthood. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions or queries, we're more than happy to answer! Oates Oates
For what itโs worth, the walking and talking ray of sunshine, known better as Oates โOatieโ Oates, marginally underestimated how hard it would be to get a job in the dance industry, so now, after four years and an entire high school experience in Los Angeles, he finds himself back in Healdsburg, where broken relationships stand by to be mended, and a yet undetermined new dream waits to be pursued.
Niamh Foster
Born, raised, ostracised; Niamh Foster never quite felt settled in Healdsburg, yet never had anywhere else to go. Kicked out by her parents just over a year ago, Niamh moved in with her aunt and uncle, shacking up in cousin Oates' room while he studied in LA. She's long awaited this summer and the reappearance of her lifelong pals, seeking some end to the mindless boredom she's endured whilst working a part-time waitressing gig alongside her senior year.
Kian Fitzgerald-Charleston
As one of the most popular kids in Healdsburg, everyone seems to know Kian for one reason or another. A chipper and fun-loving young man, Kian grew up in Healdsburg as the only child of two prominent figures. Heโs lived there his entire life, still living in the same house doing the same things. Kian is a musician, often playing at festivals and town events when heโs not frequenting bars and clubs outside of the city. Either you know Kian and love him or you know him and despise him. Either way, he sleeps well at night knowing heโs a Healdsburg legend.
Charlie Howell
Charlie is a generally well known figure in the Healdsburg community, especially amongst the student body. Recognized by her small stature and whip smart tongue, Charlie is known for being incredibly smart and ridiculously competitive when the situation calls for it. She grew up in Healdsburg as the youngest of five children to a single mother. With aspirations of academic grandeur far beyond her budget, Charlie has decided to stay in Healdsburg for college to save up and figure out her path which, as of now, remains unclear.

realism
We understand that roleplay is a great way to escape reality. However, this roleplay asks for realism in all aspects of the characters including personality, backstory, face claim, etc.. This rule is non-negotiable and we absolutely want everyone involved to be committed to the stories of characters that seem real, not just recycled stereotypes. Yes, that also means no gary-stu or mary-sue type characters.
activity
Activity is incredibly important, both IC and OOC. We want this to be community involved and while we understand breaks may be necessary, we want to make sure that no one gets left behind and that we can move forwards without having to pause for too long. We will be looking for two posts a week at average (do not worry, nobody expects you to write 2k word posts, a 300 word post is more than enough!!!)
restrictions
Due to the size of this roleplay, it is NOT first come first served. The three mods will be working together to pick characters that work well with the story. We are asking that you only apply if you are genuinely interested. We are also limiting each writer to one character for now. Because of the nature of the roleplay and the ages of the mods, we ask that all writers be 17 or older.

All RPN rules apply, and because we deem it a much better spot for OOC chatter, joining the Discord OOC server will be mandatory.
