Sinclair Residence, Hawkins, Indiana​

"Erica, please, just get out of my room?" Lucas Sinclair says to his little sister. Erica stands at the door, sizing up his dirty room, while Lucas stands at his bed with an annoyed look.

"Why?" Erica asks. "You need room to talk with your nerdy friends on that fake phone?"

"Yes! Wait, no! I mean..first of all, they're not nerds. Just...people with different interests. And it's called a walkie talkie!

Erica rolled her eyes and sneered a bit at Lucas. She was about to make another snappy comeback, but she was interrupted by her mother saying,

"Erica! Come wash the dishes!"

Before leaving, Erica gave Lucas one final glare before leaving the hallway and going down to the kitchen.

With a smile, Lucas ran to his room door, closed it, and then leapt back onto his bed. He picked up his walkie talkie and raised the communication pole before holding down a button and saying,

"Roger, Roger, this is Sinclair speaking, anyone there?"
