Lana sighed, water staining the pale ends of her shirt as she rinsed off the dishes. She placed the last plate back in the sink as she reached for the dish towel on the stove, rubbing her hands until they were dry enough for her to continue with her daily responsibilities.
She slowly walked through the living room, sneaking a quick glance towards the fireplace mantel, where a photo of her and her husband was framed. They both wore wedding attire, Lana dressed in a thick white dress and her husband dressed in a dark black tux. She smiled, remembering the overwhelming joy she felt that day. Wiping a tear, she straightened the photo and continued walking, heading through the foyer into the office.
She pulled the office chair out, sat down, and pushed it back in towards the desk, shaking the mouse back and forth to wake the PC up. She wondered what time it was where he was stationed, and sadly wondered when she’d see him again. She decided to scroll through Facebook and catch up on unread emails.
