This is a steampunk roleplay, meaning that there are a few charcters that are almost necessary to the theme.

NOTE: Just because I said they were ALMOST essential, you do NOT have to be anything given above, but sometimes I find people have a hard time creating a steampunk character because it's not an everyday lifestyle people live through.

DID, or, Disassociative Identity Disorder. This is where under stressful situations like abuse a person's mind breaks into two personalities; one of them is a dominant, new person to protect the weaker person. Ezra is the original, but in serious and life-threatening situations it is possible for the very violent, wrathful Rosalyn comes out and makes the hard decisions, often opting to kill everyone who is a threat.


Ezra was born into a military household, and for most of her childhood she was abused in the worst way by her uncle, the Fleet Commander Jakob Riley. After years of hiding this secret, holding onto it, this burden broke through at age ten. Rosalyn had been created in the fraction of a second when the rage turned violent and Rosalyn fended off her uncle for the first and last time. For the next few years as a student, Ezra excelled in sword fighting, ranged weapons, and battle strategy at the military academy she had been attending, a better and more confident person since the unconscious creation of Rosalyn had also taught Ezra to focus all of her emotion into willpower, devotion, and prescision work. For this, she is a proud, sometimes arrogant person with little or low need for emotions unless truely enjoying herself with mates. After graduation at eighteen until her early retirement from the Fleet at twenty seven, Ezra was a pilot of the Zeppelin Air Force and was commended for her ability to pull a win out of a hat in all of her eleven battles in various wars. For this, as a retirement gift, she was given her own airship for personal use named the Atrox, or Fierce.


Ezra, for the most part, loves the feel of flight. She loves the thrill of it. Ezra could never forget that, so when the word came through that they needed a skilled captain to go on a hunt, she was more than willing to sign up. Also, it was to add to the golden track record of the proud Ezra, once General Ezra Sturgesson whom everyone saluted. In short, money, nostalgia, and the glory of it all.

Character Flaw: Ulysses is a pathological liar in time of distress and often in life. He lies habitually, both consciously and unconsciously due to pressure, stress or fear.. However, Ulysses has been trying to fight it and though it isn't easy he tries.


Personal Biography: Count Ulysses A. McGriff IV gained his power and wealth through lying and deception. When his family was down in the dumps and there was nothing for them left, he snuck into a pirate's ship, hoping to run away from it all, but he shortly was found and managed to save himself and become one of the crew when the captain decided to have him. Although the captain saw something in him, the crew didn't; he found himself working and working and got beaten up on the ship. Somewhere along the way, the police caught him and he lied his way out of imprisonment. Sonce then, he lied and lied to everyone whenever he found himself in trouble or sometimes to get what he wanted. Through his habitual deception, he managed to trick his way int being the captain's right hand. Joining the crew in raiding and robbing with his bronze and brass bladed rapier that he managed to steal from a lord. Eventually, he managedto lie and trick the captain into leaving his crew and, therefore, inheriting the ship and the crew. The power seemed to seep into him and for years he gathered his wealth and buy his way into being a count in such a young age.


Reason for wanting to join the crew: Years, after assuming the role of a count and leaving his crew of robbers and dissolutes, he found himself forgetting his family he once had. And when he went back to them, with some of the wealth he had in his hands, he found his mother dead years ago and his sister murdered shorty after she became a prostitute. This, of course, broke him and found himself realizing everything he has done. Regret and guilt exploded inside of him and wanted to compensate his mistakes by joining this mission and, hopefully, covering his past with the truth, this time.

Character Flaw: Desmond is a high-functioning sociopath, meaning he is quite full of himself and by no means allows you to criticize him of his intelligence. The man thinks he big and bold, and is absolutely smarter than anyone on any degree because of the academics he has enrolled into. He's cold, and lacks emotional withstanding and connection with anything or anyone. It's all about the work and moving forward. If you stop and falter, worrying about such meaningless rubbish, it ruins you. It fills your mind with nonsense and you will never be able to get things done. Desmond is as sharp as a tack and quick like a fox, but he isn't afraid to say what's on his mind, whether it insults you or not. Your mother has passed on to the heavens and you feel like you can't go on without her? He doesn't care. Even if it were his own family, he does not care a single bit. If his mind isn't going as he wishes, he often gets angry and confused, lashing out or making idiotic decisions last minute.


Personal Biography: Desmond was born into a wealthy family, containing a large amount of members that had specific wealth and did whatever they could to keep it running in the family, usually forcing arranged marriages or simply marrying a distant cousin. Bit odd, yes, but Desmond comes from a long line of strong, wealthy men with their trophy wives at their sides, running businesses and poking their sticky fingers into any loophole they could find. Not the best kind of family to grow up into, but it's what Desmond had to deal with. If he did not follow specific rules or guidelines given to him, he would often be shunned by other members and humiliated to high extent. This is how the male grew to be so cold and arrogant, not giving a single care about the world unless it involved him. His father pushed him, training him everyday so Desmond can live up to his legacy, doing whatever he could to surface his son's well awaited for intelligence. He often used anger, humiliation and abuse to teach him more, allowing him to learn his flaws - eliminating all weaknesses as possible. The Grimm Family did not want any weaklings, anyone who was willing to give up and lose - it just wasn't allowed. God knows what happened to those who did.


It wasn't until the age of sixteen he managed to snake his way into university young, acquiring such knowledge even boys his age had no idea of knowing. His father was proud, but yet, that didn't stop the torment. He still pushed his son, having him practice different techniques and equations from dusk until dawn and and if he didn't do what was required for that day, he wasn't fed and he certainly earned a new bruise. Desmond is a walking, ticking time bomb ready to explode onto anything that pushes him just enough. He had never lashed out against his abusive family, never talked back or tried to get away, he simply bit his lip and lived through it, even having silver scars across his pale body to prove it. It's no surprise to the world around him that because of this abuse, it has mentally and emotionally structured him into a monster that he, even dislikes.


Flying through university with a snap of the fingers, he managed to earn himself the title of Doctor and won himself a brand spanking office at the age of twenty-five. He's a scientist and a good one at that, and while finally escaping the deathly grip of his family, he locked himself away to focus on his work; the stuff he really loves. He knows engineering to medicine, but most of all he loves to experiment and think of new things. Hell, the crazy bastard is even coming up with the blueprints of a "steam powered" humanoid, apparently.


Reason: Desmond feels as though this is a great opportunity to show off his intelligence and be a part of something that could be great. He's brilliant, and amazing when it comes to building and repairing things. Not only will he be a perfect addition, it'll give him a better name slate, some wealth to get away from his family for good, and something, well, to keep him occupied. Yeah, you could say he pitched in just to cure his boredom and give his mind something to really think about.

So in essence, he's joining to loose himself in an experience rather than face his past, and in a way, lying to himself? Very clever!

I appreciate the high functioning sociopath, my uncle is affected by this, and the detatchment is true, but there is some devotion in work and some 'friends' in an almost obsessive way. But my question is really this, in that what does your scientist/engineer specialize in? It is nice to have a 'does-all', but everyone is good at ONE THING really well, and the rest is just a bonus. Just an idea, think into one speciality and have the rest be the cherries on top.

I made it so he is 100% devoted to his work and leaving the human emotion and interaction out, making it a tad difficult to act properly towards the other crew members. He will have his certain people he will get attached to and rely on during the role play, which I will definitely show. But, I made him a mechanical engineer, he likes to build, invent and fix things. He's the "tinkerer" of the role play, I guess you could say.

Character Flaw: Trisha is brazen to the point of rudeness to most people from outside her country or below her rank. This can make it hard to get along with her at times. She is incredibly flirtatious as well and freely lays traps for her soldiers, inviting them to flirt back with her and then slapping them with a reprimand for doing so. Some call her a cruel bitch, while others still know her as a cunning tease. Either way, she usually feels that she is superior to those around her, particularly those from other countries, and this can make it hard for her to work in a team.


Personal Biography: Trisha was seven years old when her father, Lokus Eastwind, rebelled against the Haldoun government. Their insistence on not expanding their borders and leaving their vast armies and soldier populations to linger on without work or action left many of the men feeling discontented. They revered the stories of the past, stories of war, treasure, and expansion. They wished to return to those times, but under the command of the Water Elemental, they were forbidden. But Lokus and many others struck out and defied the Water Elemental and the Government, forming warbands and attacking small towns and cities from neighboring provinces in secret.


When they were inevitably discovered, their nightly raids turned into full open rebellion against the Government. Many died, and whole households were hunted down and killed. But throughout it all, Trisha Survived, and when at last the enemy came to their estate, and killed the men guarding it, she remained, saved. Her uncle, Javis Eastwind was the commander of the government forces that hunted down his brother's rebellion, and he had spared her after he had finished murdering her father right before her eyes. She never forgot that, and though she did not struggle as she was taken away, she never forgave.


She spent her years then living sometimes which her uncle, and other times in detention facilities. The government wanted to execute her badly, but her uncle fought tooth and nail to keep her alive and under his guardianship, and though she never forgave him for killing her father, she also loved him for being the only one to care. Her life was full of twisted emotions like that, and as a result, as she grew older, she expressed her behavior in the form of rudeness, arrogance and, at times, intolerance.


As soon as she was seventeen she joined a military academy, where she excelled in all her combat classes, and did enough to pass her academic classes, she was truly intelligent. But she had a mouth and a tendency to use it, and that got her in trouble time and time again as she grew older and climbed the ranks. She eventually learned not to mouth off to her superiors, though she could hardly restrain herself around people of equal rank, and people of lower rank were too easy too mouth off to, since they couldn't do anything about it.


She joined the official army as soon as she could, and thanks to several rebellions which occurred at the time, she was able to climb the ranks, reputed to be a powerful soldier capable of intelligent decision making, and bearing a sharp tongue. It was a few years until she started to notice the pattern in her work. She would train, drill, wait, get bored, and then, just as it seemed that there would be a riot among the men, a rebellion would break out and the army would be scrambled to quench it. Over and over this repeated itself, and finally, after studying the pattern more closely, Trisha realized the truth.


The Government let the rebellions grow and exist as a way of keeping their trained forces in the action and under control. They couldnt conquer or expand, so they did the only thing a warrior nation could do, they fought amongst themselves. Trisha had no proof, but felt this must be true, and grew a deep seated hatred for her government, which she kept wisely hidden. Now, after years of killing and gaining rank, she is given possibly the most important mission of her life, the investigation into the force which is attempting to kill the Elementals.


Reason for wanting to join the crew: She wants to join the crew in part to stop the Elementals from being destroyed, though her reason behind this is internally skewed. She couldnt stand to let someone else kill the elementals before her, and she intends to find out how the process of killing one of them is worked out, kill the originators of the plan, and enact it herself. Failing that, she will just kill as many of them as she can, though she will happily destroyed the Elementals herself if given the chance. No one but she knows this of course, and it is her most closely guarded secret.

This is an amazing character. Very detailed, including how the country has affected your character very deeply, including the Elemental ingrained info. SO, based on the character and how well thought out this has been, accepted.

Character Flaw: Eli has always found a way of getting an extra dollar, but the problem is that he is so paranoid about losing his precious earnings that he immediately blames anyone besides himself. Never thinking that he miss placed his personal items, or money, he has even stooped low into stealing from other people and saying that it was his to begin with.


Personal Biography: Eli George Wilson or as most policemen and the locals know him as The Corrupt Fox was born and raised without a mother except raised by a thieving father,who taught him if he ever wanted something you had to get it one way or the other. Eli never knew how it was to be wealthy he imagined it to be something like heaven where anything could be given to you because your just that wealthy. Well years past and things changed and Eli had to move on at the age of fourteen his father was never home to put food on the table in their little shelter,that day was actually the day he had to leave because patrolmen were on pursuit to claim the stolen goods. Eli had to travel and steal what he could to survive its what his father did to keep him alive and since he was gone so suddenly Eli had to learn on his own and face the dangers head on as a child


Later in life when Eli was seventeen he had stolen enough funds to keep himself living nicely he even had his own home he built with his own two hands it was a nice tent that was decorated with things he found, his goods he kept there always never bringing them to banks. He never trusted them mostly because of that whole paranoia of losing what he got on his own. The tent was just outside of a town so he can easily return there to do what he does best. So far he has been caught back in day and knows how the jail cells work to where he is experienced in breaking out. As of now in Vextus he has to keep his identity very secretive and keep to himself to avoid even being noticed or arrested on sight he usually would wear a stylish cloak found in his scavenging which covers up most of his weapons and gear he has on him at all times.


As of now Eli has been pondering what he wants to do later on in his life, he knows going around and stealing all the time surely is not the way to go but its the best thing he does and really is all he knows and other small things he learned from books he "found". Eli now travels around Vextus taking the essential things for a distance travel always to making sure he has what he needs.


Reason for wanting to join the crew: At first Eli never really pictured himself being apart of a crew, but later on he found himself wanting to start fresh from his horrible childhood, and how he had to live. He found that some of his skills were good qualities for the crew, but he still questions if he can even get along as a team he never has but puts an effort to try. Secretly though another reason on why he joined is just to see if he can gain some other sort of fortune that will make him rich enough for him not to have any worries...and also because he wants to travel around to see more of the world.

Now, we have a delima. We have two similar characters, a Liar (The Aristocrat) and a Theif. Please keep them seperate, in that the liar needs to stay a liar, and a theif needs to stay just that. Please don't get them mixed up, or a character change will be necessary. I will let them live for now, but if they become too similar, things may have to change. Nobody likes a double. Im Still waiting for Liztopher to get a post in before I post. If that doesnt happen by tomorrow I may go ahead and post anyway. Just trying not to post flood.
