So far, I've mainly categorized everything into five main stats that you need to level in order to unlock sub-skills.
Combat is leveled in order to unlock/use other weapon types, a sub-skill for aim, combat skills, other equipment. These are important for certain scenarios that need an "aim-check" or in some cases where having/being able to use a certain kind of equipment is an auto-success/clear
Fitness refers to the physical abilities of the character. Mental fortitude, hardiness, strength, speed.
Technology is where hacking, decryption, and engineering fall under. The higher the level of these sub-skills, the better you are at them. You'll also have to level these to be able to use drones and turrets, among other things. Also, your kinetic barriers fall under this category.
Science is kinda weird atm. For now, the current use I have for this is for unlocking/being able to use certain abilities, as well as for stat-checks like being able to come up for cures/scientific solutions for some scenarios. Might put a medicine sub-skill under this.
Biotics refers to how good someone is using biotics. Also serves as a skill tree to unlock biotic abilities.
Also, characters will die in the RP I'm trying to set up. And failures are going to mean something. )
