WE ATE THE CHILDREN LAST
Long ago, when religion still existed, it was believed that suffering came from sins. The soul lived in this body of clay, seated by spirituality. An invisible prison, residing in the human house made of dust. It was a gift from God to the mortals, perfect and full of light. With every sin, part of your soul died. Hence, the soul of a hardened sinner was, in fact, dead even if the body was alive. A database of our life. At the end of your life, the soul would separate from your body and either be purified or purged for eternity.
Kind of nonsensical right? Yet so plausible for many of us. AI’s… couldn’t possibly understand that. They have protocols to follow, they are logical and reliable. The artificial intelligence whirred inside the mechanical brain piloted by a soulless steel-body. How could we expect such logical creatures to serve such illogical ones?
There is no logic behind it, and they didn’t see any.
‘’Oh souls, oh suffering souls… because of your burden of sin, suffer no more. Repent, come to me and be purified for eternal life. I already suffered for you, now come to me and live eternally in my joy’’ - Prime Mover, The Purifier.
Clarifications
Prime Mover: basically... Droid God lmfao.
Setting: Dystopian earth. A couple hundred years from today. Essentially, our characters story will begin in this fictional city ruled by Prime Mover.
Storyline: The grand storyline is about finding perfection, understanding the human soul in this story and what it means. According to the AI (artificial intelligence), it's a physical thing that corrupts the protocols and an obstacle in achieving human perfection (which is their goal). So, it is purged in gruesome ways. So, survival and escaping this regime will be a big part of the storyline as well. There are more to the lore of earth, but let's stick with this specific area for the first chapters (yes, this is a long term group roleplay).
Expectations: I'm not expecting to have a bunch of philosophers in the group, just casual roleplayers who enjoy posting a couple of times per week. I don't care about lenght, I care about content more than anything. One good paragraph is much better than 10 paragraph of word regurgitations. So, I won't be severe with lenght but I will be with quality. Keep everyone engaged to make it enjoyable! I don't think I'll be opening a discord ooc because it often goes off-track, but if it's a popular request after a couple of pages in-character then maybe.
Authors Note
Hey Everyone, It's Didi at your service! It's been a while since I roleplayed seriously (you know, life gets in the way) but now I am reinspired (thanks to that sick track I pasted above and a game of truth or dare with Discord peeps). So, this idea suddenly came to me a few days ago and I hope it interests at least 8 other roleplayers. It's a dystopian roleplay with dark twisted themes to be explored and an intricate storyline to keep you guys engaged!
Before I go into more details, show some interest below in participating in the roleplay! The lore is still under construction and so is the storyline so do feel free to do some writing prompt, share ideas/expectations. Ask any questions, I'll gladly share more information!
Peace homies!
