Realistic or Modern We Are Underground- New York Based Vampire Rp!

Hey everyone! Looking for a modern roleplay with vampires, hunters, and the black market? Well look no further than "We Are Underground"! The setting is a series of tunnels underneath New York City where a vampiric society called "The Nest" dwells in relative secrecy. There are five different subrace of vampire with their own traits, abilities, and weaknesses. However, you could instead be a vampire hunt either of human or even vampiric heritage! It should be known that player count is capped at 20 and hunter count specifically is capped at 5 with a limit of one character per player at a time, so if you are interested you better hurry and check us out! Here is the Main Thread!

Nineteen spots open and waiting for new players! Let me know if you have any questions about how to get started!

Still looking for people to sign up! We have 19 open spaces and you're free to make as many apps as you want! If there's anything anyone is curious about please let me know!

Friendly bump! Make that 18 maximum. If memory serves, once at least five slots are full, we're starting. Don't wait too long!

Cool! Have any questions about character submission?
UUUH, well I do kinda wanna make a sorta influential, old blood fella because I'm a Dracula hoe :'))

I see, influential in what way?
HMM this is what I've been thinking. I might make him one of the heads of a human trafficking ring, dealing in organs and blood on the vampiric market

Cool!! Would he know any council NPCs?
He would probably know of them, thing is the Council itself is against the Blood Market as they see it as unsavory and as a risk to the secrecy of the Nest, but it's impossible to live in the Nest and not know of them. Depending on how long he's lived there, he might of brushed elbows with at least one of them a couple of times, although these days they don't make many public appearances.

I'm very interested to join and have a few questions:
1. What do hunters necessarily do? Do they roam around the night hoping to find a vamp out on the town? How often are they to interact with a vamp?
2. How would you handle hunters "metagaming" i.e. knowing things they wouldn't possibly know as characters?
3. When can I make a character!?

Okay so I am thinking that hunters mostly roam the cities, although some that are in the know might also lurk in the surrounding tunnels, although the Council has done a pretty decent job so far in keeping the Nest secure (that can always change!). I imagine there would be some interactions, either with fellow hunters who are vampires or with the occasional brush with their prey but hunters also have to be as secretive as their quarry so they try to keep their activity on the down low. As for meta-gaming, I would pull the player aside privately and have a conversation with them to set things straight, give them a warning for first offenses. However if their behavior keeps up I may eventually just remove them if they prove to be a determent to the rp. And you can make a character whenever you'd like!

How "fresh" can a vampire be? Can I have my character be a blood bag turned vamp and be freshly turned? Still have the blood lust and not get any control on the whole "creature of the night" thing?

Also are these the typical vamp lore where they are absolutely beautiful or do scars and such transfer from human life to vampire?

I would think it would be different depending on the individual and the situation they are in, if they are desperate or impulsive and don't have any guidance then I could see them having little control over their bloodlust.

A vampire will look almost exactly as they did in life (unless they are brutes or shroud kin!) All scars, blemishes, and such will still there. Vampires don't magically heal old things like that.

I have an idea of a girl, homeless and desperate after failing out of college and being abandoned by her family. She would have started using drugs heavily and wandered her way into a secret blood smuggle ring to pay for drugs she had no money to buy. Some vamp took things to far and infected her per se. Wakes up after surviving the fever as a vampire. Still would be impulsive and reckless, slow to gain control and learn that she is "safe" in this new place.

I do like that idea! However if you want this to be an accidental conversion she would have to be either a brute or new blood, if this was purposeful then most likely an old or gentle blood, shroud kin would be less likely to do it considering they need to be inhaled in cloud form and it's a bit more costly for them.
