Fantasy Way of the Blade (Interest)

DemetrioMachete

Messiah of the New Night
Hi so I am going to keep these layman's terms short and sweet, and then post all of the necessary lore n' shiz in a Spoiler.

So this roleplay, it revolves around weapon combat. Duels, skirmishes, full blown wars. The main feature of the setting, however, is the attention paid to the very details of how one fights, what one fights with, and their experience.

All that matters in our land is strength. Might makes right, as they say. Only the strongest may lead, and only if they have the mind and desire to. Let your guard down for one second, and someone will overwhelm you, glad to take your place.
It is a bleak time, for the world. Expansion, colonization and Manifest Destiny have unsettled the peace between all the civilized peoples of the world. In this time of desperation, they have turned to preparation for war. Sellswords and Mercenaries are among the most rewarding of occupations, as all that matters to the leaders of the three nations, is their handling of a weapon, and their willingness to kill.

The art of weapon fighting is a most sacred tradition. Weapons were invented by our prehistoric ancestors for hunting and defense. Thousands of years ago, however, one man turned weapon fighting into its current, graceful state. Weapon Forms, as he has named them, are a sacred martial art, each one depicting how one can stand, attack, defend and move around the battlefield and stay alive. It is not restricted entirely to the sword. Any weapon that can slash, pierce, bludgeon or so on has a Weapon Form. These days, all that matters in the eyes of every warrior in Eurfice, Fukuya and Skalesh, is the mastery and dominance of their Weapon Form.

Would fire arms or ranged weapons in general be allowed or does it have to be melee combat?

Interested, will unique weapons be allowed such as fist weapons and chained weapons? If not, that's fine, I'm still interested.

Yes. I am going to try and include all weapons that I know of and then some, including magical/not magical relic weapons, perhaps.

Way of the Blade (Lore)

You all can read up what I have drafted so far. Maybe pitch me some ideas, offer corrections or retcons, bring new weapons to my attention?

Also, for easy reference, Eufice is based off of Western Europe and North America, Fukuya is inspired by Japan, and Skalesh takes reference from what I know of ancient Middle Eastern and African culture.

Bump. And also I added a few more things to the Lore, such as the Kingdom of Eufice, and the mundane weapon forms. Up next, when I get home: the application of Chi. If you have another mundane weapon form idea, please tell me.

I think I will give this Rp a shot. I am curious though Is this detailed or casual because either of those two would be great.

I'd assume Detailed since its specific combat oriented and if not, at least Casual with lots of details when fighting. If I had to guess DemetrioMachete DemetrioMachete

Two questions.

How recent has there been conflict between the nations if any.

And can one have mastered two forms? I wish to use form 3 for the two handed and form 6 for mounted combat. :)
So far there has not been an actual physical battle yet, but the three nations are getting ready to, because manifest destiny so on so forth.

And when you use the word "mastery", it makes me think you've devoted your whole life to these two weapon forms to the point where you're one of the best in your class; a Master.

You're free to utilize what ever combination of Weapon Forms you please, but I may be stingy on your actual level of skill between them.
