5. I want decent posts in the rp. At least a well-written paragraph, preferably two. But Im not going to pressure you or call you out if you don't always make huge posts or anything lol
6. Similarly this is a rp meant for more mature people. As it will probs have mature themes and touch upon mature things. I wont say what age someone needs to be to rp in my rp, or anything, lol. Since anyone can rp, but yeah, you should probably already know if this sorta thing is up your alley :>

Our characters will be between Beginner and Amateur Wave Crashers, but can be on the cusp of Intermediate WC

  A family that tends the largest vineyard in Grapeswell. That distributes grapes to much of the world.
  
  For most of her life Neb lived in Grapeswell with her father. When she was young, she had three key adult figures that she not only looked up to, but completely idolized. Those were her parents, and her Uncle: Tyburn. Well, primarily she looked up to her mother and Uncle. Until one day, when Uncle Tyburn returned from one of his adventures with bad -no- terrible news. Her mother -Astu's wife- was dead. While she stood there, completely devastated, tears streaming down her puffy cheeks, her world completely shattered, Tyburn explained what happened. She had died on one of their latest ventures deep into the Hadal Sea. That undertaking had been a colossal failure, resulting in the deaths of many of their allies. They were forced to retreat from that hostile sea with their tail between their legs. It was the first story Neb had ever heard of her great Uncle Tyburn suffering a loss.
  
  After that, she lived with her father alone, tending to the vineyard, but the tragic story of her mother's death hadn't deterred her. If anything, it only emboldened her. Neb wanted to be a Wave Crasher now more than ever! She was overjoyed when her first Droplet appeared. So she spent her free time training hard to do just that!
  
  She even formed her Qua Fashia at the young age of 8! Surprising her father, and impressing her Uncle. Tyburn stated flat out that her Qua Fashia was impressive enough to be a major threat to most Wave Crashers. With the fine-tuning of her Qua Fashia, Tyburn said she would grow up to be a formidable Wave Crasher. Her father only bemoaned the excessive encouragement from Tyburn. He was no WC himself, only possessing a single Faded Droplet. One thing he loved about his wife, Kasha, was her fierceness and indominable spirit. He found her strength something he looked up to and was proud of. But then his wife died while on an adventure. And after that, he found himself wishing she had been weaker, so she wouldn't have left, and he would still have her. He didn't want the same thing to happen to their only daughter. But a part of him knew, deep down, that this was his daughter's path. He could not bring himself to keep her from her destiny. He knew it, the moment she had been born; for she had been born under the Water Star, Nebulesse, of which she is named directly after.
  
  Nebulesse, the Water Star, is a roaming star that only passes by their world every 1000 years. And Nebbie was just so happened to be born directly under it. The moment she popped out, her parents saw a Droplet in the shape of a sun appear on her face, before fading away. To them, that meant their sweet little angel had been blessed by the star.

  Neb is pretty decent at Hydrokinesis. She has quick reflexes, and performs quick actions. She prefers to use her Hydrokinesis defensively, perhaps even to play "keep away". Her Qua Fashia is her offense. She uses the two in tandem to have decent defense and bursts of explosive offense.
  
  Outside of this, she has some fine Hydrokinesis control, but doesn't really possess any other real noteworthy capabilities. Despite having solid fundamentals and theory-put to practice, her Hydrokinesis isn't particularly special or impressive. Still, her Hydrokinesis is sharp and refined. In a fight, she can be a tricky opponent, and doesn't waste her water. A fight of attrition can be difficult with her due to her Qua Fashia.

  Neb is capable of highly compressing her water and spinning it faster than any whirlpool. Once compressed and "readied", she is capable of firing out this highly compressed water like a laser beam. It is so compressed and heated it often appears like a flash of gold. Due to this, Neb's Qua Fashia has an extreme level of power behind it and can cause significant damage. However, it tends to lack versatility, and can be a bit cumbersome to wield.
  
  Neb's Qua Fashia manifested from her desire to push forward at unrelenting speed. Her high ambitions for herself became the deep power necessary to bring about her Qua Fashia. Her Qua Fashia represents her wholly, as a being that wants to push forward headstrong, and let nothing stand in her way, or stop her. An unrelenting power for an unrelenting girl seeking to conquer the seas of the world.

Background and Self
Perri was a little girl who grew up near the Great Peninsula in a fishing village off the coast near a bustling harbor and market. She lived with her father and older brother, her late mother passing whilst giving birth. She often joined her father and brother in fishing expeditions. A soul who yearned for adventure, she had a habit of digging for treasure at the beach or scanning the horizon for any stray messages in bottles. Eventually she grew a habit of going sponge diving to accumulate extra coin she'd spend on street food, candy, and the sort, and the dredge up any rusty treasure she could find, to the chagrin of her father who abhorred her collection that smelled too much like fish for comfort. She manifested her droplet whilst one of her sponge dives at the age of six.
Her Qua Fashia awakened in an accident at sea when she was twelve, in which Perri was ripped away from safety by strong currents whilst swimming during stormy weather. It was a desperate bid to save enough money for a jade necklace sold by a fleeting travelling merchant. Perri nearly died in a typhoon she was directly under.
She had practiced every day and night, evening and afternoon, to call upon her Qua Fashia. Yet, it was the last thing she thought of when she ripped the roaring cyclone of wind and storm wide open.
Perri was barely conscious when found by the search party sent out immediately after.
It took two months of her wading through the shallows to muster enough courage to start diving again. Not long after she ended up enrolling at Blue Wave Academy to learn how to fend for herself in future escapades.
miscellaneous facts:
Perri has an avid love for fermented foods, fish in particular. Despite her brother's dislike of such she has an avid love for the stinky and sour. Her favorite condiment being fish sauce isn't a surprise. She has the same love for sparkling water, which was a luxury bought by the money she had acquired by selling sponges.

Perri's hydrokinesis is spontaneous and brash, filled with vim and vigour, though it has a tendency to flag with indecision and lack focus. She has a good grasp on the basics but struggles with truly concentrating all of the power her reserves have, as a consequence she can be a little too easily overpowered.

Qua Fashia
Weather Manipulation: Perri can currently only make it rain and clear skies for up to twenty square meters with great focus, and only with mild extremity. She tries to replicate that fateful day of her awakening often, but to no avail. The school knows to monitor the halls with great scrutiny during tumultuous weather, in case a certain student gets swept away by the tempest outside.
note: Perri will be able to summon hail and lightning, as well as other such weather conditions. Although this will be taxing, and render her weakened until she takes the appropriate rest. (unless we want to make her broken)

• HISTORY

  Chapter 01

  Resting in the Twilight Sea lies the Kingdom of Celunia ruled by two princesses. After the sudden unexplained death of their parents, the older one, Snow, was always busy with her duties, often forced to ignore her sister in favor of getting work done. The younger sister, Onyx, had her own job, she had a special ability that far exceeded water purification: Certain things that passed through her water could be purified, not just water. This was used to determine one's guilt, the water could purify their words of lies. Onyx was forced to sit through trials of absolutely despicable people all while Snow enjoyed the luxuries and worship that came with being the eldest and most popular sister. Not only that, but the little time she could spend with her sister in her downtime felt like it just washed away into the endless sea now that she had her own duties. As this continued, Onyx only sunk further into despair and desperation.
  
  In the meantime, Snow was struggling with the threat of a war. Excellent diplomacy was key to avoiding a full scale war. Every discussion, every second of her time counted. Which only made Onyx’s disturbances even worse. Snow was never proud of her temper raising at her sister, but it was like Onyx was blind to the horrid situation they were in. Snow could see Onyx wasn’t getting better, but Snow decided Onyx had to fix her behavior herself as she was far too busy. Eventually, Onyx stopped coming to her with fake problems. Relieved, Snow closed the peace negotiations and started work on a festival to celebrate her accomplishments. The first time she heard about an outburst from Onyx, she was in the midst of planning her coronation. Snow ordered the guards to take care of her younger sister as she was far too busy.
  
  The glass shards laid at Onyx’s feet. Her heart felt like it was swallowed by the sea when amongst the guards, her sister was nowhere to be found. They struggled as much as they could, resisting the guards' pull back to the castle, calling out and demanding to see her sister. She was locked in an isolated tower for a week as punishment. Onyx spent the week in that tower, descending where no light could reach. That’s where she finally found a beautiful plan, one that would surely garner her the attention she lacked.
  
  Snow’s coronation was today, her 13th birthday, the beginning of her great reign would finally be sealed in the official ceremony where she’d pledge her undying loyalty to the Lunar Pearl, an artifact that’s said to keep the land from sinking into the sea. Snow delivered her speech with grandeur and poise. It was worth every extra hour she spent to perfect it. She then called upon her aid to bring out the Lunar Pearl. Yet, the pearl was not wheeled out, instead the aid hurriedly rushed over to whisper that the Pearl must have been misplaced. Snow was shocked, there was no way they could have misplaced such an important artifact. How could this even have happened under her watch? She knew she had to find the pearl fast or else all this effort would be wasted. In the midst of her panic is when a voice called out to her.
  
  “Are you looking for this, sister?” Onyx held the pearl in a bubble of water floating next to her. Onyx smiled wide, knowing that she finally, for once, had her sister's full attention. All according to plan, after all, Snow can’t ignore her if she’s a threat to the entire kingdom! Onyx didn’t have any real attachment to a kingdom full of liars anyway. She was going to raze it all under a riptide of destruction!
  
  A quarter of the kingdom had fallen by the time Snow finished sealing Onyx in a block of ice only to collapse from own wounds moments later. Snow wished she never woke up after that battle. The punishment for stealing the Lunar Pearl was never written down because everyone should know that such a crime would result in only one judgment, death. However, Snow was not willing to go through with it, she felt overwhelming guilt over the carelessness that led Onyx’s rampage. So, instead of death, Snow banished Onyx away from the kingdom.

  Chapter 02

  The night was cold, a storm had just passed the other day so the sailors were fishing, hoping to catch something big. One sailors heart skipped a beat as their hook got caught on a fish that must be huge. They yelled for help and with the help of nine other sailors used a net to pull the catch up. However, what they surfaced was not a fish but a block of ice that encased a young girl with onyx black hair. They worked hard to cut the ice away, the sailors figured she was likely dead but stranger things have happened in Aquesse. And to their own surprise, their intuition proved true, the girl had a faint pulse. They quickly put her next to a furnace and covered her with blankets.
  
  Onyx’s eye flickered open after seven days. She pushed the blankets off and started walking up to the deck. As soon as one of the sailors saw her, they immediately dashed to the captain screaming about how she’d awoken. Onyx took a moment to pinch herself, after a moment she let out a somber sigh and continued on her march. Once she met with the captain, she cut straight to the point, Onyx demanded they take her to a specific kingdom. The captain protested that the voyage would take a month at least and it’d throw off their trade. Onyx cut them off mid sentence, using water to swiftly cut their right arm off. Onyx explained that she wasn’t asking, she was demanding. Other sailors were prepared to fight back but the captain told them to stand down, they should’ve known better to take the sea of twilight lightly. The captain begrudgingly changed course as per Onyx’s demands.
  
  While Onyx didn’t much like this kingdom, she was working with limited resources. And, after all, the enemy of her enemy is her friend. She approached the ruler with one proposal, “Come with me and let us raize Celunia together.” With laughter, the King took Onyx up on the offer, saying they’d need a few months to prepare the forces. That was no problem for Onyx though, it gave her more time to practice how she’d beat her sister this time and seal them away like they had done to her three years ago.
  
  Snow never attempted to host another coronation after the first disaster, the title of Queen was mostly just optic anyhow, and she didn’t feel like she was worthy of such a title after her failures. Snow was recently informed of their rival kingdom amassing forces. The blind hope she had that the contract she sacrificed her sister for would hold true delayed her reaction. Her forces were unprepared and weak when swords started clashing. Her forces were losing, quickly too. The only hope to fight them back was for Snow to get on the front lines. Yet just as she made the decision to fight, she saw a ghost standing before her in the hall. Onyx.
  
  Onyx moved quickly as a rapid, slashing at Snow over and over again. Snow keep creating ice to block the attacks but Onyx was too fast, several large gashes started to decorate Snow’s body. After a concentrated blast of water, Snow was incapacitated, too beaten down to move. Onyx had defeated her. Snow saw as a water prison was conjured around her. It all happened so fast that Snow couldn’t even say what she wanted to her younger sister. She could only watch her descend further into madness, helpless to stop it. No, she was never helpless to stop it, she was careless, foolish, arrogant, but never helpless. This was all preventable, she should’ve tried harder. Wallowing in her own pity party was interrupted as a hero or more, she couldn’t really tell as her vision was warped by the water. What she could tell was a fight between the mysterious savior(s?) and her sister broke out. Snow thought for sure no one would be able to defeat Onyx. But the water prison’s collapse proved her wrong. It took her a moment to regain her senses only to see Onyx trying to make a break for it.
  
  Snow’s body shot forward, snatching Onyx’s wrist in her hand with a death grip. Onyx tried her best, trying to shake her off, yelling awful things. “Go Away!” “Don’t come near me!” “Just die already!” Snow pulled Onyx into her and gave her a hug, finally saying what she wanted, “I’m sorry,” Onyx continued her kicking and struggling. “I’m sorry for never being there for you, I’m sorry for not saving you when you needed it, I’m sorry for banishing you, I’m sorry for not being the older sister you deserved. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” Onyx had stopped struggling and only began to cry, tears ran down her face like a waterfall, a force nature no one could stop. They both collapsed to the ground in each other's arms, letting their tears express the feelings that words could not.

  Chapter 03

  Soon, news came that the rival Kingdom had captured the Lunar Pearl and was escaping with it. It seems they intend to let the island slowly sink. Snow tries to get to her feet but stumbles and falls over thanks to the wounds she gained in Onyx’s onslaught. The soldiers quickly escort her to get patched up before going after the rival. Onyx saw Snow shoot a warm smile back at her before they left for the medic’s help. As soon as she was out of sight, Onyx made a break for the boats, she was going to get that pearl back and redeem herself for this stupid stupid plan.
  
  She checked her bandages once more before leaving the tent. A regular citizen bared bad news to her this time. Upon hearing it, Snow sighed, wondering if foolishness was simply in their family genetics. Onyx had rushed into battle and was consequently captured by the rival kingdom. Well at least this time she can do what a good older sister would. Snow went to the shore, conjuring up an ice sloop to chase down the ones who stole her sister. Several aides tried dissuading her, to no avail, Snow refused to neglect her sister anymore. She gave them all emergency instructions of who should be in charge till her return. Then using her powers, the sloop shot like a spear through the water, aiming to pierce their enemies heart.
  
  Snow crashed into the biggest ship in the fleet, her ice sloop shattered upon impact. She was hoping to pierce it but it seemed this ship was reinforced with metal. Quickly changing course, she clambered up top and manipulated the pieces of ice to rain down on the soldiers that got in her way. She slammed the captain’s quarters doors open to see a familiar face. One she had many many talks with while trying to negotiate. The King of Celunia’s rival kingdom. Snow brought her hand up to shoot an ice shard at him. However, the rival King grabbed Onyx and held her in between the two of them forcing Snow to hesitate. That was all the time the enemy forces needed, her ice was usurped from under her and used to bind her to the middle of the room. Snow’s eyes were sharp as icicles piercing into the King. If looks could kill, he’d be fish food at this point. The king tossed Onyx next to Snow, having his Sea King chain her up as well. Just then, Snow realized there was an odd ritualistic circle on the ground. Snow questioned what he was planning to do but the man just laughed as if it was a stupid question.
  
  Onyx’s eyes flickered open just as the pain began. The circle filled itself with water and started to draw it from the two sisters. The process was more painful than Onyx could have imagined, it felt like everything that made her existence possibly was being ripped out and swallowed under the tide. Their screams filled the ocean. Onyx then felt some warmth, a hand grasping hers. She felt some of the pain lift temporarily like when one finds themselves in the eye of a storm. In that moment she looked up to the smiling king. At that point, she felt nothing at all… nothing other than pure distilled rage. It tore through her more violently than a typhoon and that’s when she unleashed all her power, Qua Fashia Raga. Black water shot from the depths, through the steel, wrapping itself around ships and tearing the fleet to shreds.
  [Rumors spread after that night, claiming a monster with furious red eyes took the entire fleet to the sea floor. Others say it was like the moon above rained its fury onto the fleet below. After that night, Celunia’s shores were plagued with planks and other pieces from the broken ships washing up on their shore.]
  
  For a while after that, items from the wreckage washed up on countless shores. One such wash up was not a thing but a girl around the age of sixteen. The Blue Wave Academy found her and took the girl in. When she awoke, she found herself to be in the sun sea and when questioned she gave vague foggy descriptions of what she claimed to remember. When the Academy witnessed her hydrokinesis, they were impressed enough between that and her surviving drifting from the twilight sea to the shores of the Academy in the sun sea nearly forced them to admit her instantly. From there, she quickly became an honor student and a prominent member of the student council. In all regards the girl's talent and academics were incredibly impressive allowing her to become one of the top rising students at the academy.

  Two droplets lay in her palms while two rest on her upper back. So at a glance, it often looks as though she only holds two.
  
  Ashlynn often immediately goes for an intense offensive strike at the beginning of battles. If her opening attacks fail to finish them off, she switches to 'hit and run' tactics striking whenever an opening appears and focusing on outpacing their opponent's cognitive speed. If all else fails, they resort to trying tactics they're just pulling out of thin air. While not common, Ashlynn does enjoy it when this happens to help them discover new techniques.

  Qua Fashia

  Ashlynns Qua Fashia shifts with the phases of the moon. Depending on how dim or lit the moon is will decide the attributes of her power. With a full moon, she can fully manifest ice crystals with liquid cores. These crystals act as bombs, once the ice cracks the pressurized water explodes outward. When the moon is new, Ashlynn's power can create water portals/wormholes. Traveling through these points feels just like swimming via a dark tunnel. The openings/exits can be spotted by abyssal black water gathering. These powers wane and grow as the moon shifts between phases. A half-moon would see Ashlynn using both powers but at half capacity.

  While Ashlynn's technique and hydrokinesis are top-class, she hasn't focused on practicing them in her studies at the academy. Instead, Ashlynn has focused on honing her Ki, an area she lacked. Now, she mixed Ki and Hydrokinesis in a flurry of attacks like crashing waves.

  The Kalani family is well known in the town of Cape Dawn, where they uphold the tradition of storytelling, keeping alive the folklore that is passed down from generation to generation on their island, keeping the words and wisdom of their ancestors alive. Many of Kame's family members would become spiritual leaders, mentors, or teachers; allowing them to spread knowledge and impart wisdom to guide those around them. But fairly few were ever gifted with Hydrokinesis, and even less so with the desire to become Wave Crashers. But Kame wasn't like the rest of his family members, he had always felt a peculiar connection to the water. From a young age he had manifested his first droplet, and spent countless hours by the shore seemingly enchanted by the rhythmic dance of the waves and the whispers of the sea breeze. His parents often found him at the foot of his grandfather's chair, listening to him recant ancient folktales of underdwellers and the sea spirits that protected them from harm. He was a promising protege for his grandfather, quickly memorizing most of the old man's tales after listening to them constantly.
  
  But the waves called out to him, and with the droplet that had manifested early on, there was never a doubt in anyone's mind that Kame would make use of his abilities. He spent most of his days in a hidden grotto with his grandfather, who was one of the few in the Kalani family to not only manifest a droplet but to become a Wave Crasher. They spent the years training together, not just learning to control the water but to remember the stories of their ancestors, and the wisdom that came from them. It wouldn't be until his thirteenth birthday though, where he finally discovered his Qua Fashia. While practicing meditation to align his mind and body, Kame claimed that he could hear voices--soft, melodious, and calling out to him. His grandfather could hear no such voices, but encouraged Kame to focus on them, presuming that they were water spirits that offered guidance.
  
  To both Kame's surprise and his own, they did indeed offer guidance. The voices spoke of hand signs, ones that his grandfather taught him in meditation, and urged Kame to focus on them. In doing so, the water in the grotto began to glow, shift, and pool into the center. All of a sudden, the Koi spirits appeared, circling the shallow waters in perfect harmony. It had to be his Qua Fashia. The pair were related, and only continued to train, in hopes of learning what other spirits that Kame could manifest from their folktales. Eventually, it came to a point where his grandfather had taught him all that he could, and passed down all the stories that the young boy would know. It was time for him to depart, to venture out and forge his own path beyond Cape Dawn. His next steps were obvious, Blue Wave Academy. What more could Kame learn, and how could the tales from his ancestors aid him further on his journey.

  Many would describe Kame's Hydrokinesis as evasive. With great footwork and perception, Kame is difficult to pin down while he utilizes his Qua Fashia to give him the upper hand in an encounter. Unlike most, he relies many on his Ki and his control over it for his offensive capabilities, allowing him to remain safe in a battle while his water spirits act as the main force. While many would assume that his rank of Sea Beast is underestimating his capabilities, most of Kame's Hydrokinesis isn't anything to write home about outside of his Qua Fashia and Water Sense.

  Spirits of the Sea
  Kame’s Qua Fashia is centered around the manifestation and summoning of unique denizens of the sea, which are said to guard the humans that live on the islands of Aquesse. Stemming from the folk religion of his hometown, Kame theorizes that he will be able to summon seven different water spirits in total, based on the seven water guardians: Koi, Ahui, Kelpie, Selkie, Siren, Hydra, and Undine. Currently, he has only been able to summon the first three of the guardians, and can only summon one of them at a time. Despite this, he is able to change which guardian is currently summoned. Each guardian grants him a unique ability, based on their abilities from the folktales they are derived from.
  
  Koi. Unlike the other guardians, Koi is one spirit that consists of two bodies, two koi fish named Twi and La. When they circle a point in the water, it creates a temporary 5 ft. platform above them that lasts a couple of seconds if they are not continuously circling it. They can also be used as remote points for Kame’s hydrokinesis techniques, such as water pulling and water sense.
  
  Ahui. Known as the sea-dog spirit, Ahui is a large spirit with the features of an orca whale. With a strong body and excellent swimming skills, Ahui acts a companion and guard to Kame when summoned. In terms of hydrokinesis, it is only capable of wave riding, allowing it to walk and run on water when it doesn’t want to swim.
  
  Kelpie. Known as the drowning spirit, Kelpie takes on the appearance of a horse drenched in water, with its front hooves turning into fins while its back hooves transform into a large tail when underwater. When Kame mounts Kelpie, it can utilize Hydro-Oxygen Deconstruction and Absorption to create a bubble of air that surrounds him and allows him to travel and breathe underwater for a limited time before resurfacing.
  
  Ki
  Kame has a moderate amount of Ki, while his control over said Ki is extremely refined. Due to his Qua Fashia, his Ki is his main method of offense and therefore nothing to scoff at.

  Special Interests and Goals:
  Kame has a vested interest in culture and traditions, usually stemming from his own role as a storyteller for his Hometown. To keep himself sharp and maintain his interest, he will often spend time learning the folktales and myths of whatever new island he's travelling through and from any new people that he meets. His lifelong pursuit is to document the folklore of Aquesse, so that the future generations will have something tangible to refer to and learn from. The wisdom of folktales shouldn't be limited to the storytellers, and Kame knows well enough that the stories that he doesn't tell will die with him.
  
  Unique Quirks: Kame claims that he can hear the whispers of the waves, and most of the time it's hard not to believe him. Though in actuality it's just his natural insight alongside the wisdom from the catalogue of folktales he knows.

  Background:
  One might not realize it by the worn state of their shop, but Jay's family descended from a once-legendary Wave Crasher known by the epithet "Tide Breaker." Every morning while preparing the day's catch, Jay's grandfather shared stories of Jay's great-great-grandfather.
  
  
  "The man was a natural disaster," Gramps said with a smile, "He'd wipe the floor with sea kings and wrestle krakens for fun, why, it sent shivers down me spine just being in his presence. I once saw him split an islet with a single punch!"
  
  He set his cleaver down, widened his stance and mimicked a punching motion with pure glee in his eyes, followed by his signature cackle. It was contagious to young Jay, who'd cheer and copy the motion. This morning story-time was a ritual in the Kingfisher family. His mother was a retired Wave Crasher who was often out doing jobs in the rest of the archipelago, so Jay spent a lot of time in his grandfather's fishery. From seeing his mother and grandfather rise at the crack of dawn to their local fishing spot, then seeing them work together to bring in the morning catch, and finally hearing all the stories of the familiy's Wave Crashers, it was only natural that Jay would choose to become a Wave Crasher.

  Jay's mother still remembers the day her son shared his dream with her - it the same day his water droplets manifested. He was 7 at the time. They were at the docks, lighting sea lanterns for Jay's late father, like they'd done every year since his passing.
  
  "Mama, do you think I could be a Wave Crasher like you and papa? Or am I more like grandpa?"
  
  
  "Well," his mother started, "If that's what you want to be, I think that you'll be a wonderful Wave Crasher, sweetie. But I'm sure you will be an amazing fisherman like grandpa too. I saw you catch that tilapia this morning, you'll be fishing just like us in no time!"
  
  
  Jay giggled and hugged her. She didn't have the heart to tell him how the droplets in the Kingfisher family always skipped a generation. Today was a day to be supportive - she couldn't handle another heartbreak on this same date. Not when she could make him light up with so much joy, like now.
  
  "Let's put the lanterns in now, ok?"
  
  
  Jay nodded excitedly, and they both took turns placing a sea lantern down.
  
  As Jay put the last of the lit lanterns on the calm water bed his mother willed into existence, he clumsily repeated the Wave Crasher's Manifesto. He then ran back to his mother's side and like every year prior, he rooted his feet firmly in the sand, put his hands out, and tried to will the boats out to sea. Usually he'd do it together with his mother, but that year she'd been a little distracted. She turned around for a second to shoo away a nipping cat-shark.
  
  "MAMA! MAMA!" She heard Jay scream out.
  
  
  She hurriedly turned around to witness the sea lanterns sailing away into the setting sun, and her son excitedly shaking up and down, a faded droplet sitting now at the back of his right hand.
  
  The people of the Windswept Antilles believed that by honoring those who've passed with sea lanterns, you honor the sea and the gifts it brings us, and in doing so invite the blessings of Wafalla. To Jay's mother, there was no other explanation - Jay's droplets were a blessing by Wafalla himself.

  Jay's days changed after that. Both his mother and grandfather had been very supportive of his dreams - to be the best Wave Crasher-slash-Fisherman ever! so he began his menteeship to both his mother in the basics of Wave Crashing, and to his grandfather in the ways of Kingfisher Ki techniques. Through grueling training he progressed steadily. He discovering early on that he had a knack for ki and water sensing, and not much else. His grandfather taught him the fundamentals of meditation and the Kingfisher Ki Techniques - Fisher's Form, Casting Stance, Reeling Stance, and Cleaving Cut. His mother showed him basic water maniulation, water sensing practices, and wave riding. Together they discovered that the volume of water he could reliably control stayed at about a gallon, and he could not for the life of him solidify water. It was simply too "heavy".
  
  It took until he was 17 for all his training to click and allow him to develop his Qua Fashia. What he could do, he realized one hazy morning while fishing, was "lighten" that load. By releasing cool water from his tongue droplet and "spreading it out" with a ki-infused breath, he could form somwhat dense fog in an area around him. Thus, his Qua Fashia - Mist-caller - was born.
  
  The development of his Qua Fashia lit a fire in Jay's heart, and he doubled down on his training. He was almost ready for Blue Wave Academy. He might've gone that same year, but Jay's Grandfather fell ill and never recovered from it.
  
  In his deathbed, Gramps handed down the family cleaver to Jay - the same one he'd used every day to clean the morning's catch. Jay stayed behind to help his mother take over the family fishery. Once he knew she had good, trustworthy help in the form of two young mentees, he said his farewells.
  
  That day it'd been the anniversary of Gramp's passing. He made his way at the crack of dawn to the same shore he'd gone to for the family sea lantern rituals. As a final thank you, he lit a sea lantern for his ancestors and set it off to sea. He took a deep breath in, and proudly proclained:
  
  "With Wafalla and all the Kingfishers that have come before me as my witness, I hereby claim I'll live my life as I see fit! I will ride the waves of freedom! I will find my treasure! all this world is mine!!"
  
  
  That same day Jay hitched a boat-ride to the newest chapter in his life - Blue Wave Academy.
  
  He spent 4 difficult years there, honing his wave crasher and close-combat skills, and developing a passion for the kitchen, much like his grandfather.

  Jay's Hydrokinesis is limited and supportive to his true talents - water sensing and Ki. He is able to accurately locate water and objects in water to an impressive degree for his skill level. He uses this edge to primarily catch, evade and get his targets close enough to where his ki enhanced close-combat skills can shine. He also uses this to support his teammates by providing them with information they can use to gain the upper hand, or using his Qua Fashia to "jam" and overwhelm the senses of key targets.​

The family cleaver has been passed down to every new Wave Crasher in the Kingfisher Family. It's said to have been wielded by his great great grandfather, the legendary "Tide Breaker." The Deluxe portable cooking set he won in a lottery and he's made so much use of it that he basically has his own little food stand at Blue Wave Academy's port area.​

Powdery blue hair flowing equal to his height in length, gathered into a silver hair ornament shaped like a crescent moon. Delicate features. Not something sculpted, but rather painted with gentle, adoring brushstrokes. Crystalline blue eyes redolent of clear waters. Comparable to the graceful ebb of flowing water, elegant. Nothing hard-cut or jagged. Each movement made caters to something airy, like an ocean breeze. Unmarred porcelain skin, it's only blemish or fault being how easy it is overcome by blush.

  Personality:
  First impressions of Nereus oft sort in one of two categories: a radiant ethereal prince with hands tender enough to soothe even the most tempestuous oceans, or a shivering wayward nestling that tumbled from its home. Both, to some extent, are true.
  
  Nereus and kindness were raised as one, thus the two are irrevocably intertwined. His heart hasn't been tainted by the smear of a cruel reality, free of the bitter aftertaste that comes with enduring adversity. Everything he's wanted, he's had. Spoiled not only in superficial riches but in attention and care. One might assume him grow arrogant with everything he could desire delivered to him at his beck and call, but first and foremost, Nereus was taught to never take his blessings for granted. When goodness is extended unto him, he will return it tenfold. He adores with an unguarded soul, naïve and idyllic. Obliviously falling prey to those who aim to deceive or harm. His naturally trusting disposition renders him impressionable. Intended insults, snide sarcasm, or disguised disrespect are beyond his comprehension, thus he assesses them in earnest.
  
  It's that openness in accepting those around him that leads Nereus to claim one as a friend quickly. He holds a pure affection for those he considers his allies. He believes friends ought to be treasured and doesn't shy away from expressing so. From buying them gifts he thinks would suit their taste to praising them for the simplest of things, any friend of Nereus' will never know the meaning of the word 'underappreciated' in his presence. He's unabashed in vocalizing his gratitude and admiration, even when some of his sentiments sound embarrassingly corny. In some instances, it may even come off as flirtatious, but Nereus is blissfully unaware of this.
  
  Graceful as Nereus may be, there's an awkward edge to someone who—despite appearing the epitome of dazzling elegance—will bump into posts while lost in thought, or trip over their own feet. With a head more rapt in the clouds above than the earth at his feet, clumsiness has made a vessel of him. His lack of direction when navigating his paths and a head predisposed to daydreaming, one might find Nereus typically lost, tripped in a ditch, or with a bloodied nose from an offending wall. The image of the dignified prince shifted by a ditzy smile and a sheepish gratitude should help be offered. His pattern of wandering is inconvenient especially when paired with his curiosity and vivid imagination.
  
  Background:
  When Nereus was born, the Laz'Ofet family rejoiced for weeks. His parents, who'd been trying for years to have a child, were finally blessed with their baby boy. The birth had left his mother weak and sickly, but she loved her baby how plants loved the sun. She'd call him her little treasure and showered him with love and care. Nereus' father wasn't shy of expressing his emotions, either. He was a little more fretful of their baby's safety, ensuring all harmful elements were completely out of Nereus' curious reach. Although several tutors were presented to the prince, Nereus' parents didn't slack when it came to educating their son on matters regarding both the mind and heart. This lead Nereus to develop an emotional maturity faster than most children, and overflowed with empathy for everyone he met.
  
  Nereus has been all over the world, but he hasn't seen any of it. His parents were strict on him leaving Merr. Worried their only child would encounter danger on the outside. But rather than preparing him for it, they opted to seclude him within Merr's safe borders. Everything Nereus knew of what life was like outside his home was granted to him by books he'd pluck from libraries, or stories from visitors who'd be invited to dinner by his parents.
  
  One such visitor was an S rank Wave Crasher. A Sea Dweller. He was a hearty man with a cheerful laugh and experience marring his skin. Nereus became rapt in the man's stories of the different iterations of Qua Fashia, of silver oceans and rainbow waters. All of it embellished in the head of a young boy who could only imagine a life on the outside.
  
  Years passed, Nereus' mother gave birth to another baby. This one a girl. Nereus felt a guilty relief at this. Now that his parents had his sister, he felt he could leave Merr to pursue his own dreams. Convincing his parents to enroll in Blue Wave Academy took some time. They were adamant that Nereus stay with them and make a future for himself in Merr, but her insisted that he wished for something greater. Eventually, they acquiesced. Unfortunately, Nereus enrolled a little late and could only complete a single year at Blue Wave Academy.
  
  His parents wish for him to return to Merr, but he's determined to grow stronger as a Wave Crasher, inspired by the Sea Dweller who told him stories in his youth.

  Merr, aka The Wandering City. A humble city that coasts along the waves, ever changing location, but itself always remains the same.

  Hydrokinesis Description:
  Nereus' control of his water is something more artistic than combative. Something meant to inspire wonder. His style of hydrokinesis caters to something more creative in the way he can make it appear like the water he controls can change color, or take vague shapes when manifesting it. When in combat, Nereus is fairly flexible between offense and defense with no particular leaning towards one or the other. If anything, he prefers to avoid fighting altogether. Regardless, his offensive hydrokinesis is often quick and precise, intended to either incapacitate quickly and prevent as much pain as possible. His defensive hydrokinesis tends to be reserved for his allies, aiding them through shields or barriers.
  
  Droplets:
  Nereus has 2 filled droplets. One on each palm-side of his respective wrists.

  ∘ Healing fountain: Nereus can heal open wounds, some common illnesses, and some poisons with his Qua Fashia. It's nothing immediate. The larger the wound the longer it takes to heal and more often than not a scar is left behind. He cannot regrow limbs or bring someone back from the dead. Using it is especially draining when he only has his water manifestation to rely on, since when pulling water, there's no guarantee it will be clean. When treating illnesses or poisons, it is a significantly longer and tedious process. He can assuage symptoms of a common cold or virus, providing some relief and giving the body a boost to cure itself. The same cannot be said for terminal illnesses, the most he can do is temporarily relieve any pain. With poisons/toxins, the process is regrettably more intrusive as it involves the afflicted consuming his water so he can remove the toxins from the inside-out. It's never a pleasant feeling for either party.

  Background: Niles was born into a family of traders who traded with the many visitors of the seaport. His family were known for only having faded water droplets, leading to many rumors about the Bahari bloodline being cursed. But once Niles was born, everything was going change. Niles’ early years was mostly seeing numerous WCs come and go by, usually for things like rations for long missions. Nonetheless he thought that being a WC was the coolest thing ever. His father on the other hand, thought that his dream of being a WC was unrealistic. Not because he hated the idea of being a Wave Crasher, but because of their bloodlines “curse”. His father would try to talk to him about the curse, but Niles wasn’t really a good listener. His mother on the other hand would usually read him stories about brave Wave Crashers going on adventures in seas, which only fueled his desire to become one. This led to his parents constantly arguing. Sleepless nights were frequent as they argued. Niles even consider giving up on his dream just for them to stop fighting.
  
  Then one day, when Niles was 10 years old, his first droplet formed. Everyone in his family were surprised to see that it was filled! For the first time in generations, a Bahari had a filled droplet. Next thing you know, everyone at the seaport heard the news of the “Blessed Bahari”. There wasn’t a day where he would be surrounded by people who were dumbfounded by Niles. Many people came up with theories on his droplet. Many said he was adopted or an illegitimate child. Others say it’s a tattoo his parents gave him so he wouldn’t feel bad. The theories were put to rest when he demonstrated slight hydrokineisis by creating a small whirlpool. Despite his newfound abilities, there wasn’t anyone who could train him in the Seaport. Fortunately, a traveling Wave Crasher heard about rumors of a “blessed child” in the area and decided to see what was going on. This led to them to the Bahari’s house. When they arrived they were only greeted with confusion from Niles’ parents. The Wave Crasher explained that they were willing to teach Niles and help him hone his abilities. His father was a bit skeptical about this proposal, but after some convincing, he approved of the training going forward.
  
  For the next few years, Niles spend his afternoons training with his new Teacher. Learning the basics of hyrdokinesis as well as basic fighting techniques. At 13, his Qua Fashia manifested, albeit slightly incomplete. His teacher said that his growth was very unorthodox due to his heritage but with enough time, he’ll be able keep up with average WC trainees. After awhile, Niles’ training hit a brick wall due to the Wave Crasher only teaching the basics. The WC decided to help him enroll at Blue Wave Academy. Of course, that meant saying goodbye to his home for now. After saying his goodbyes, he left for Blue Wave Academy to seek new adventures.

  It does not take long for someone to grasp the broad strokes of Imugi's origins. His provincial mannerisms and roughneck features mark him as a born seaman, raised far from the comforts and common sense of city living. This is not an incorrect assessment in the slightest. He was raised on a vessel whose crew was more family to him than his biological family, and employed as a cabin-boy, running errands for the captain and waiting on the officers of the ship. It is not an uncommon origin for those in an ocean world.
  
  It simply happens to be that the boat he was raised on was The Hunter's Moon, the legendary sea monster hunting vessel of the Hadal Sea.
  
  Imugi was born in Seacrown on the Repun Island chain, or at least that's what the crew tells him, but he's been with the Moon since before he could walk. Of course, the Hadal Sea's deadly waters are no place to raise a child, but it's not like his absent parents can complain and against all odds, the crew managed to raise him into a somewhat-intact, somewhat-functional member of Wave Crasher society. Imugi often speaks fondly of his time with "Gramps" and his "Aunties", "Uncles" and "Older Brothers/Sisters", even if the stories he recounts are very questionable. After all, the sea is uncharitable even to the strongest, and he has his fair share of scars to prove it.
  
  Unsurprisingly, Imugi began training as a Wave Crasher from the moment his first droplet manifested on his spine. Despite constant insistence that he didn't take on students, the Moon's captain took him on as a student. Most crew members would describe the old man as being quite excited to finally have a formal apprentice, but never to his face.
  
  It isn't unusual for a Wave Crasher to complete their training outside of an academic setting, and after so many years studying and sailing on the Moon, it seemed that Imugi was set to become one of these homeschooled Wave Crashers. However, after one-too-many close-calls, the captain decided to enroll him in proper education at the biggest Wave Crasher academy out there. Needless to say, this annoyed Imugi, but the captain's orders are the captain's orders.
  
  Armed with only the clothes on his back, a series of esoteric "homework assignments" from his Gramps, and a guarantee from the staff that his affiliations would remain secret, Imugi became a student at Blue Waves Academy at the age of 16. As a student, Imugi would clearly rather be anywhere else. With his tattoos and careless demeanor, he looks and acts the part of a delinquent, often skipping or sandbagging classes he doesn't like and coming into conflict with people who offend his sensibilities.

Unlike most Wave Crashers, hydrokinesis serves primarily as a supplement to his fighting style rather than the crux of it--if he even decides to use it in a fight at all! Therefore, it should come as little surprise that his water manipulation falls behind his more studious or prodigious peers, but it's not as if his skill at hydrokinesis is responsible for his weight class.

  Qua Fashia - Cloud Gathering Temper
  Imugi's Qua Fashia is a form of Water Manifestation that allows him to generate and manipulate steam from his body. The typical application is to steam pork buns, but he can also use it in combat. By releasing bursts of vapor at high pressures from various points around his body, Imugi can boost the speed and force of his actions, defend against enemy attacks, and so on. By increasing the temperature, he can issue burning attacks by molding steam around his limbs or firing steam blasts.

  Fighting Style
  Imugi is an exceptionally talented fighter who fights almost exclusively with hand-to-hand combat. Even before ki is factored in, his physical prowess is head and shoulders above his peers due to his singular focus and long history of practice. He is a monster in melee-range, combining bone breaking blows, startling agility, and terrifying stamina to devastate his foes. It is generally advised to engage him at longer ranges than one would initially expect.
  
  The core of his fighting style is the Six Storms Style, taught to him by his captain. Considering it was developed by a man who was already at the peak of martial mastery, the forms used by Imugi are suitably diminished. Whether or not it's possible for him to actually achieve the full power of the style without the same sort of inspiration remains to be seen. One of his tasks is, after all, to figure it out on his own.
  
  Imugi's variation is striking-based with a focus on kicks and aerial combinations. His hands are typically reserved for counterattacks or decisive blows. A selection of frequently used techniques are included below:
  
  Techniques:
  
  • Harpoon: A powerful heel-strike from above. Originally designed to spear sea creatures with a powerful descending kick, it can also be executed on land by jumping at or onto an opponent.
  • Ripple: A straight or palm strike aimed for the core vitals. Ki released at the point of impact disperses force through the target rather than against the target, focusing damage internally rather than externally.
  • Whirlwind: A corkscrew punch. Spiraling ki amplifies the twisting impact to send an opponent spinning through the air, rendering them vulnerable to follow up.
  • Serpent Coil: A grab using the knee joint that intercepts an opponent's arm, neck, or leg. Typical application is to feint a kick and break the enemy's guard to set-up further attacks, but it can also be used defensively to intercept strikes.
  • Serpent Fang: A high-powered flying knee strike. The kick-off used to initiate the attack can be used to rapidly close the gap. If the opponent blocks the initial strike, it is common to grab their head and knee them with the opposite leg or transition into a takedown.
  • Serpent Recoiling Fang: A backflip kick used to generate distance. Can also be used to strike a second target by landing on them or, when combined with Serpent Fang, to slam a grappled enemy into the ground head-first.
  • Salt Air Cannon: A strike that launches debris generated by previous attacks as projectiles. Can also be used on solidified water.
  • Trident: A rapid, three-kick combination. Typically it manifests as some combination of low-mid-high to reduce the opponent's ability to evade or high-high-high as a finisher.
  • Water Spout: An upwards strike intended to launch the opponent into the air (or closer to the surface) for follow up techniques. Typically launched from a low position to exploit the opponent's blind-spot.
  • Wind Hand-Sword: An open-handed strike imparted with the capacity to truly cut or pierce. The technique can be applied defensively, allowing him to parry weapons unarmed.

  • A really long checklist of Gramps' last instructions to Imugi. Aside from items concerning martial arts benchmarks, it's more of a bucket list than any sort of actual tutelage. He doesn't get the purpose and the tasks often frustrate him, but Imugi figures that crossing the miscellaneous items off the list will give him the answer eventually.
  
  Special Interests:
  
  • Combat Arts. He enjoys watching people fight. Beyond the base amusement of seeing violence take place, he enjoys seeing and thinking about peoples' techniques and Qua Fashia in action. Ask him for his thoughts at your own risk, as some of his ideas can be lost in translation.
  • Comics. The action stories in the Weekly Boys' Dive anthology magazine just get his blood pumping.
  • Cuisine. Cooking was once part of his job description, but his definition of cuisine is often much more exotic than most people would prefer. His specialty is sushi, but only technically.
  • Curiosities. His upbringing has made him generally unflappable, so rather than shy away from weird or off-putting sights, he's more inclined to ooh and aah. Really big fan of scary stories and tests of courage and the like.

  Six Storms Style
  
  A martial arts style only a single generation old. It is said to have been inspired during a moment of enlightenment at the bottom of a maelstrom.
  
  The essence of the Six Storms Style lies in "flow" and "pressure", akin to the style's two namesakes. Mastery of the style necessarily entails mastering the flow of power within and without, achieving a sort of oneness with the environment akin to the unity of the storm and sea... or at least that's what the style's founder says. If you ask the man's crew, it's a much more simple foundation: moving with enough speed, force, and precision to treat the air as if it were water.
  
  Naturally, the marque features of this style are feats of strength that allow one to direct fluid pressure through application of physical force and controlled ki. One is only said to have learned the style when they have mastered its seminal technique: a strike delivered with sufficient force to use pressure as a projectile. Naturally, no codified guidance exists on how to achieve this, but a number of "beginner" (for a given value of the term) techniques have been developed for the purpose of building the necessary foundation of power and control.
  
  
  The Hunter's Moon
  
  There is a saying among sailors: "When sea monsters die, they curse the sun."
  
  But only the strongest curse the Moon.
  
  The exploits of the vessel and her crew are the stuff of maritime legend. It's not difficult to see why: in a sea divided by the world's strongest, she sails without heed for kings and borders, without need for money or power. Her purpose is singular and her reward is selfsame: to deliver swift death to the great monsters of the deep.
  
  Whether her grand hunts help or hinder those around her is not her concern. That said, the economic benefits of sea monster whale fall and safer seaways are often more than a fair trade for tolerating her Captain's idiosyncrasies--not to mention the threat of his rage. However, the ship is not without her enemies, both above and below the waves, as the scars of its youngest member can attest to.
  
  The Moon's crew consists of hardened Wave Crashers, all viciously loyal and recruited at the whim of the Captain. The ship herself is a three-sail junk ravaged by battle. Rather than wood planks, all damage has been repaired with scrimshawed bone. From the surface, the skeletal graft lends her the image of a half-dead beast floating in the water. From below, the light dancing across bone resembles an ivory moon.
  
  "Gramps"
  
  Uthuze Bakonaua, Captain of the Hunter's Moon. The Fuls Vurrican, the "unofficial fifth" of the four Roya Vurrican, whose martial prowess has earned him the title of the only so-callled "aerokinetic" in a world ruled by hydrokinetics and implicit permission to traverse all four corners of the Hadal Sea unhindered.
  
  Most well known for his fanatical obsession with hunting sea monsters and his unparalleled mastery of martial arts, he's in remarkably good shape for an old geezer nearly one-hundred years old. Despite frequent appearances across the world, he's a very obscure figure. Eccentric and arbitrary, he is more akin to a walking calamity than a man, prone to randomly showing up in pursuit of his quarry, causing mass destruction in the process, and leaving as quickly as he arrived. In his own words, he only has three concerns: his crew, his art, and his quarry. That's all.
  
  Rumors abound about his origins and motives, some more outlandish than others: that he's the vengeful incarnation of a thousand drowned sailors, that he's a wandering monk who ran out of enemies on land, that he's been cursed by the gods to sail the sea until he slays a thousand monsters, and so on. Whatever the case, he's not very keen on sharing why he's dedicated his life to the thankless pursuit of wrestling sea monsters compared to the more tangible powergrabs of his closest peers. His relative isolation and lack of resources make him vulnerable to Sea Dwellers looking to test their standing, but these upstarts often find that he is much more proficient at hunting men than he is monsters.

  Nestled between borders of the Great Sea and Twilight Sea, an archipelago sits. These are known to most as the Dragon Isles. Natives of this area typically end up growing horns, tails, and other draconic features and have above average talent for hydrokinesis. Typically called Dragonfolk, they are descendants or consider themselves descendants of ancient dragon servants to Wafalla. Scholars outside of the archipelago to this day debate whether this is hard truth or if these descendants have really just a bit too much lingering Underdweller blood in their veins. There is precedent for this as the islands have been known to shift alliances with both the Underdwellers and each other due to the fact that the islands are governed by a set of feudal clans.
  
  Liangshu was born to the Mountainspring Clan which sits on the largest island. Most of Liangshu's life was characterized by learning how one should conduct themselves according to his culture's values. For one reason or another he especially took to the unique martial arts that characterized his people's hydrokinesis cultivation. It allowed him to remove himself from the rest of his strict regiment mentally, practice and meditation were things he would often do in his spare time just to earn some peace of mind, and there was a lot of need for that.
  
  While Liangshu wasn't uncared for or neglected, he admits he has no memories of his parents. A collection of aunts and uncles along with numerous cousins were responsible for his upbringing. The nature of his parents' deaths was actually due to a skirmish with the Sunkissed Empire, a not at all uncommon ocurrence as the Dragon Isles as a whole generally consider the worship of Sisuna almost wholly heretical, which has led to the two coming into conflict more than a few times. Liangshu doesn't necessarily hate the empire for it or the people responsible for the deaths due to the fact he has never truly known those people. He does have a heavily skewed outlook due to being taught to hate the Sunkissed Empire his whole life.
  
  There is a major flaw to studying the Water Forms as an expression of hydrokinesis, standardized forms and moves don't necessarily encourage the creation of Qua Fashia. Sometimes a student will discover one on their own by meditating on a specific form enough to enhance it on a personal level or just getting lucky. It isn't uncommon, however, to send a prospecting student on a Wave Crasher journey to discover or refine their Qua Fashia out in the real world. As Liangshu did not get lucky, he now has to go on a Wave Crasher journey just to find out what makes him unique so as to develop and cultivate a Qua Fashia.
  
  Personality:
  
  Those who meet Lianshu for the first time often see him as reserved, standoffish, or even apathetic. The former is perhaps the closest to the truth. Liangshu doesn't generally show much open emotion on his face, not that he doesn't smile, but one might find his day to day expressiveness subtle. His generally undisturbed nature leads to more than a few misunderstandings when it comes to matters of socializing, but they do prove useful. For instgance, due to his general peace of mind, he is capable of remaining calm and rational under pressure. On the other hand, he does have a strong moral compass and sense of justice. He's not one to simply stand idly by when he sees wrongs being committed, often regardless of the consequences on himself. This is partly because Liangshu is the type to believe good and evil will and should always receive their appropriate rewards. He also believes that by being forthright, his honesty will be rewarded. One could interpret this as him conforming to the rules he was conditioned to live under though. Despite his goody two shoes nature, he can be crafty with how he rights various wrongs if he needs to be.

  Hydrokinesis is primarily expressed in martial arts, each strike is often either accentuated by water or used to control it. While among the dragonfolk, there are many schools of what they would call 'Water Forms', emphasizing certain aspects of water to imbue into their martial arts and hydrokinesis associated with these forms. This method of learning hydrokinesis often takes years of cultivation and philosophical meditation to learn. Learning these forms are unreliable to producing a Qua Fashia, so at the end of training a prospecting warrior is often sent out into the world on a Wave Crasher journey to learn or refine their Qua Fashia.

  I. Crashing Waves: Characterized by powerful, forward, posture-shattering strikes with the palm and fists while using the footwork to push with one's body. Hydrokinetic expression appears as bursts of water pushing with the palms and fist or creating literal waves with the strikes. The core philosophy is to be as waves crashing against a rocky shore, whittle away at the opponent. Chip away through measured crashing of each crest, and even islands can eroded and reclaimed by the tide.
  
  II. Ever Flowing Rivers: Characterized by using careful strikes and redirection to create openings. Use of the environment is encouraged to ensure control over the battle. Hydrokinetic expression appears as weaving flows of water that guard and help redirect attack. Sometimes an environmental object will be swept up in the current. The core philosophy is to be a river, ever changing and flowing. Rivers turn and twist, finding new ways to breach even the mightiest of dams. One does not truly control the river, for the river eventually carves a new path.
  
  III. Torrential Rains: Characterized by fierce and rapid, pinpoint, cobra-like strikes that culminate in an unrelenting form of combat. Hydrokinetic expression appears as scattering splashes and even fast projected bursts of water that can easily overwhelm the opponent's senses and defense. The core philosophy is to be a downpour, unrelenting and overwhelming. The rain does not care where it lands, for it cannot be avoided. The downpour overwhelms and drenches indiscriminately, overwhelming those unprepared for its fury.
  
  IV. Swallow in the Mist: Characterized by evasion and the careful exploitation of openings that are often baited out. Strikes should remain light and leave the user ready to evade and retreat at a moment's notice. Hydrokinetic expression appears through veils of mist that blind the opponent and obscure the true position of the user. The core philosophy is to be a swallow obscured within the mist, difficult to track and strike. The swallow hunts within the fog over the lake, weaving through strikes which will only ever grasp the mist.
  
  V. Steaming Geyser: Characterized through piercing, powerful strikes meant to slip through defenses. Instead of number of strikes, the form emphasizes probing the enemy's weaknesses to slip an attack through their defenses. Hydrokinetic expression appears through jets and puffs of hot steam/water. Not always to the point of dangerous skalding though. The core philosophy is to a be a gushing geyser, spewing hot powerful jets through the earth. All geysers eventually tear through the earth, releasing their overwhelming power.
