Wasteland (DrTrollinski & Thenonconformityproj)

Introduction

2277. Two-hundred years have passed since the war that ended the world. A lot of people go by the term of 'war never changes', but, that was a lie, war does in fact change - World War Three may have been fought with bombs and guns, but World War Four will be fought with mere sticks and stones. Those who were lucky enough to go down into the vaults as the war went on got to live and thrive as well as reproduce. They lived stable lives away from radiation and the horrors of the wasteland.

The people left on the outside, weren't so lucky.

They had to go through it all, the creatures, the radiation, the gunfights, the raiders, the death. The death was the biggest part, and those who couldn't survive retreated to caves and deserted areas where they could safely defend themselves and repopulate the earth - the people on the outside completely despised the vault-dwellers, and some even went to the limit of killing them on sight. It's never been an easy fight, not for anyone, and for the past 200 years, what happened to the government remained a mystery - the outside world had no advanced technology, no nuclear weapons, nothing like that. The only things they were allowed to have were the clothes on their back, their guns, and their homes providing they could afford them. Many towns were colonized and people rebuilt them and revitalized them, and many people reside there. A lot of towns were also taken over by raiders, but people know when to avoid them. There weren't many people who tackled them, seeing as they always traveled in groups.

The currency people have nowadays is bottle caps, and star bottle caps. The start bottle caps are worth 100 caps each, and that's one of the primary resources that big traders and New Vegas vendors and gamblers pay in so that high-rollers don't need a wagon to transport their winnings. Vegas also pays out in chips of 10, 100, 500, 1000, and 5000. Not many people were rich, and it took a lot of effort to ensure that that happened - a stable income was a thousand caps, as that could get you by. Chips weren't effective anywhere else in the USA, but they could be exchanged for caps before the winners left.

The future is yours to determine.

(I'll be starting in Nevada, but you can start off wherever you want. The New Californian Republic's got control of Hoover Dam, but they're a friendly faction unless you cross them. If you have any faction ideas, PM me with them - don't add them right away as I've got base factions to put in, and anything new, I'd like to discuss beforehand. @Thenonconformityproj)
