As long as there have been ghosts, there have always been Mediums. Throughout history, there has been a secret society of these gifted people called the Order of the Scarlet Sun. It purpose is two fold. The first and most important duty is to help ghosts cross over from the Cold, a freezing Netherworld where both evil ghosts and the ghosts of those who died with unfinished business reside, to the Warmth, the true afterlife. Their second duty is much more grim however. They are duty bound to both banish evil ghosts to the deep recesses of the Cold and to slay Jailers, evil demonic like beings who feed off the misery of ghosts trapped in the Cold undeservedly.
The current year is 2017. You are new initiates of the Order of the Scarlet Sun after having proved your worth by helping a ghost cross over to the Warmth. Under the guidance of your teacher, High Lord James Baxwell, you will travel the world to different locations to help the innocent souls trapped in the Cold while fighting off the machinations of both Evil Ghosts and the Jailers.
