The Pun Tyrant
Blood. Blood and ashes and chocking smoke. The trail marks of humanity. I moved ahead, letting my nose lead the way. Behind me my comrades growled hungrily, knowing we were approaching our prey. Hopefully that Katura was ready. She was supposed to ambush the humans from the other side, after all.
We had been hunting them for days now, chasing their feeble two legs in hopes of feasting upon them. It had been a difficult journey, for the humans had set traps behind them. They had burned the forest that made home to many creatures behind them. Because they had fire and rock and steel, which they had forced to serve them. Because the journey was hard and long. And yet, we kept going. For our fallen brothers and sisters. For our packs. For the great balance that the humans had broken. For our empty stomachs.
After so long, we finally arrived at a human camp. They slept and only a few lost souls guarded the fire they had trapped in the middle of their leather caves.
"Sreu." I ordered. My companions began spreading to surround the enemy camp. It was time. We just had to quietly...
I heard a loud sound from not too far away. One of my pack had been caught in a trap. His howl echoed through the hills, and I felt the urge over there and rip his throat apart myself: his howl was like a warning bell for our enemies. It was now or never. If we didn`t act now, we wouldn`t be able to catch the humans off-guard. I barked and howled, to command the pack to advance. I hoped it was the right decision: afterall, the alpha wasn`t there to guide us.
Our small horde made it`s way, charging ahead amongst growls, barks and howls. Our fangs were showing and our maws were open and ready to feast. The humans too, were getting ready with their steel and wooden fangs, their iron fur and wooden spit.
