Fantasy War of the Four Races CS

Rusty of Shackleford

Ten Thousand Club
Hi! This is the CS for the medieval/Revolutionary fantasy RP I'm doing! Basically, there are flintlock weapons as well as knights in plate armor apusing longswords and lances, so either kind of character is fine. Or even a mixture, who knows. Anyway, the rules. No overpowered characters, and they can only be from the four races, the humans, the dwarves, the elves, and the orcs. Anyway, here's the CS!

Name: Emilia Maria Lightstark
Age: 31
Race: Human
Class: Knight
Kingdom of Origin: Londe
Occupation: Royal Aegis (First Defender of the Crown)

Personality:
Emilia is a very passionate woman. She is defiant in her opinions, insists on what she thinks is right and does not back down easily on anything. In personal matters, she is rather hard to handle. She is however also a very caring and loyal person. If she endears a person, she´ll go through fire, to hell and back for them. She is rather blunt and sometimes overshoots the target, but she never means it bad.
Her loyalty and passion, just as her dedication however translate into her occupation as well. She is willing to give her life for who she swore to protect. She lives and fights for her kingdom. And non-patriotic people are an eyesore to her.

History:
Chapter 1
"You´re gonna be Mouse from now on. That´ll be your name. ~ Rat"
The story starts with an orphan. A young girl of 5 years, that had no name. In the orphanage, the kids only had numbers. The girl had been number 8 all her life. The orphanage however had to move to another location, mostly due to financial reasons. That meaning the new location would be far less expensive and the owner of the orphanage did not really like spending money on the kids. ANd so, the kids all were stacked on a wagon and the journey would begin. During the long, bumby ride, kids had to hold onto each other and the wagon, not to fall off. Number 8 however was unlucky, not able to grip onto the wagon enough. Unnoticed by the others, she fell off, hitting her head and losing her conciousness. Though that was not the end of poor Number 8.

When she awoke, she looked into a man´s eyes. The man was dirty and unshaved, wearing torn clothes and rugs. A few other men were around her as well. All of them had weapons either sheathed or on their backs and belts. "She´s alive.", the above her said, turning to her. "What´s your name, little one." Not knowing what to answer, Number 8 shook her head. "You don´t wanna tell? Fine.", the man said and shrugged, lifting her up. She took a look around. She seemed to be in some sort of cave or hideout. Being put on her feet, the men looked at her. "I´m Rat. Do you know who we are?", the man asked her. She shook her head yet again. "Well we are the Limestone Bandits.", he told her, as she started to shake in fear. What would those criminals do with her?, she asked herself. But the man kept smiling at her. "And now, you are one of us." 8 seemed confused. Rat smiled calmly and patted her head. "I am gonna care for you, educate you and train you. You´re gonna be a thief and bandit like us. You´re gonna be Mouse from now on. That´ll be your name."

The next few years were not very interesting. Mouse learned how to fight, sneak and steal. Rat was treating her like his own child, but he still treated her like a part of his crew. He was a surprisingly intelligent and educated man, but he rarely talked about his past, making it a mystery how a man like him ended up a bandit leader. Amongs common knowledge and fighting skills, Rat gave Mouse his core values, her learning them and making them her own. Loyalty and dedication as well as never giving up ended up being pillars of her personality. Mouse showed to be a talented little thing. Rat´s wife, going by the name Racoon, taught her how to cook, which Mouse soon even overcame her teacher in. At the age of 10, she was already brought along on raids with the crew. And she did her job just as well as the other members.

There was one day, that changed something within her, however. The group of bandits had trapped a coach. And she had the honor of entering it. The man inside was alone, elderly, defenseless against the armed girl. He did not beg for his life as she approached him. He was calm, looking almost as if he felt pity for the girl. "Ask yourself... Is this what your heart tells you to do? Is this right...", he asked and closed his eyes. She killed him, yet his words did not go without leaving a mark. Doubt was planted in her heart. Doubt that she was doing what she should. That this was her destiny. She pushed them aside. But she never really got rid of them.

For two whole years, Mouse was bothered by doubt and guilt. It was only her closest friend, the blacksmith of the crew, named Alakar, that knew. He seemed to understand her trouble and never failed to cheer the 12 year old up. Until, one day, he could not bear it anymore. Alakar had connections to the kingdom of Londe, connections that gave the bandits the ability to survive even times where they did not find much loot. Now, he would use those connections to get Mouse out of there. He offered her to sneak her out, to get her to Londe. He knew of a noble, him and his wife always had wished for a child, but never were able to have one. Mouse agreed. She would begin a new life.

Chapter 2
"You have great potential. You´ll make it far... A worthy successor. ~ Aldus Hammerfell"
The process went surprisingly flawless. Without the bandits noticing, Mouse was escorted out of the hideout, a merchant Alakar knew taking her with them towards Londe. There, her new parents greeted her, happy as could be. They knew what she had been in the past, but Alakar had stood up for her good heart and so, the couple had agreed. Mouse was still a bit shy and weird around them, but they showed her around their house and were so kind, that she quickly decided it would be quiet possible to live here. They introduced as Iluvatar and Milia Lightstark, both heritaging from noble families. They asked Mouse a lot of questions and were quiet stunned by her level of education, surpassing anything they would have expected. On the first day already, they adressed the name. They explained how and why she needed a real name, not only a alias like the bandits had given her. Having already seeked out a list of basic names, they handed it to her, giving her the possibility to choose. She could not decide between two, ending up in her taking both. That day, her life as Emilia Maria Lightstark began.

Both, her new adoptive parents and Emilia grew to like each other quickly. She got educated more, learning the things only nobles could teach, learning new ways of behaviour and speech. She turned out to be rethorically quite talented. She also expressed that she still wanted to fight, but for a good cause. Her parents understood that and decided she would take training lessons from the best teacher one could get in the kingdom. Erenar Taerim, he had been in the royal army for a long time, before growing too old for it. The man still trained warriors, giving his immense knowledge to the next generation. Erenar and Emilia quickly started to like each other, she eager to learn and talented, him rarely having had such a great student. He knew she would make it far and he gave her the best training he could. Emilia turned out to be a superb warrior through the years of training.

Education, normal life and training went on for years, until Emilia turned 17. She decided it was her time, Erenar agreed and her parents accepted. She made the decision to try out for the Royal Aegis. The current one, Aldus Hammerfell, was known as the greatest warrior alive, but Emilia was sure she would beat him. And in a fight that brought both to their limits, she beat him. As he gave over the blade Shadowbane, he told her "You have great potential. You´ll make it far... A worthy successor." That were words that remained in her head, that enhanced her dedication to the role and oath she now had.

Chapter 3
"And even when they try to have hell rain down on us... We stand our ground! We do not falter! For if we stand together, we will show them what hell truly means! ~ Emilia Maria Lightstark"
A few years after Emilia became the Aegis, the a war came. Battle after battle was fought and always was she at the front, motivating the men, slaying the enemies of her home. Each battle earned the Aegis great glory. More and more rumors and stories about the young warrior spread among Londe and she became a symbol for fighting on against all odds. None of that really mattered when the one battle occured. No rumors or stories mattered that day. Until this day, years later, her speech to the soldiers of is unforgotten. Written down in the books of history. In front of her, 120,000 men, knights and warriors of her homeland. She did not know how the day would turn out, but neither did she care. She stood in front of the army, all eyes on her. And she began to speak.
"Warriors of Londe! I feel the fear among your ranks, i know the doubts within your hearts! I know of your uncertainty, but little will it last! Bring the fire, bring the smoke, bring the rain! Bring blood and slaughter! No matter what they have come at us! We will not break! Today is not about history! Or about legends! Today is about our home! Let the enemy hear your faith, your hope! Let them hear your battlecry like a prayer in the night! And even when they try to have hell rain down on us... We stand our ground! We do not falter! For if we stand together, we will show them what hell truly means! For glory! For our home! For death!"

And as she shouted death, like an echo, 120 thousand voice repeated after her. Dedicated, motivated, ready. If it would have been a fort in their way, the night would not have seen a lot of battle, before Londe would have emerged victorious. But it was not meant to happen that way. A trap, the fort was filled with bombs, exploding the moment the soldiers reached it. The casualties to that trap were enormous and usually, Emilia, at the front as always, would have been one of them. It was that day, that she, without much thinking, used Full Counter for the first time. But hell broke lose after that. From all sides, the enemy started swarming in. But Emilia did not give up. At the very front, visible for all those soldiers down there, she was standing her ground. Seeing her fight motivated the troops. If not for that view, they would have lost, but with the dedication the warriors now had, they earned a hard fought victory.

Motivation:
Doing her part of keeping her home safe
Fears:
Failure

Weapons/Armor/Equipment:
Shadowbane
"Where there is darkness, i shall bring light. Where there is doubt, i shall bring faith. Born from the fires of dedication."
Shadowbane is the weapon that Emilia holds. A powerful straightsword passed from Aegis to Aegis through generations. It holds a strange power within it. The stronger the dedication of its weilder, the stronger the blade and the user get. There are many rumors and little known facts about the blades origins.

The Guardian Wolf
"You´re not like those good for nothing scallywags. You´re different. You don`t belong here. Take this armor. It´ll keep you safe out there. ~ Alakar, the blacksmith."
The Guardian Wolf is an armor especially made for Emilia. It fits her perfectly and the materials it is made out of remain a secret until this day. It is notable that the armor does not have a helmet. The Guardian Wolf seems to be a masterwork, since Emilia´s movements do not appear impared at all, while it has proven to be resistant to all kinds of damage. Surely, the armor is not impenetrable, but it appears it needs a powerful opponent to dent it.

Magic/Abilities
Emilia has only one magical ability, Shadowbane along with her combat skills offering more than enough threat to any enemy.
Full Counter
"There are times when only one thing counts. When you only get one shot. When its either do or die. Don´t waste those moments...~ Erenar Taerim"
Full counter is Emilia´s only magical ability. Collecting all her passion and dedication, Emilia rises her blade for a parry. She will block the first attack, be it physical or magical, that hits her blade, making it fade into nothingness. It does not matter how powerful that attack was, it will in any case be negated. However, the more power the attack holds, the more it exhausts Emilia. The more power it holds, the higher the chance that it will break her will and thus her defense. Full counter is an ability Emilia is only able to use in the darkest of times, when everything seems lost, not only for her, but for what she loves, either the people or the kingdom she cares for so much. Full Counter might even kill Emilia. It is the fact she does not care, that it is worth it for her, that gives the ability its power.

Skills:
Shrug it off
Emilia has shown to be incredibly resistant to pressure, stress and injuries. Even if she suffers from any of those, she will oftenly appear as if she didnt even notice it.

Swordswoman
Emilia is incredibly skilled in swordplay. There are little people overpowering her in raw skill when it comes to armed combat.

Haute Cuisine
Emilia is, besides a warrior, an outstanding cook. Though people rarely have the pleasure of tasting her dishes, since she keeps her hobby a private matter.

Name: Prince-Consort Bryce Lewis
Age: 25
Race: Human
Class: Knight
Occupation: Prince-Consort of Londe, High Commander of Her Armies
Birthplace: Londe
Allegiance: Londe

Personality:
On the surface, Bryce is...well, a snarky asshole. He's known for constantly calling out people for their nonsense, and has kicked several beauracrats out of the castle because he couldn't deal with them. But inside, Bryce is a kind, caring man who ha ha deep sense of patriotism and loyalty to his country. He can sometimes be reckless, in fact most of the time he's reckless, but he does it for Londe and for his wife that he loves more than anything, being the classic knight fighting for his country and for his love.

History:
Born in a small farming village in the southern countryside of Londe, Bryce ha ha decently normal childhood. He had good parents, a sister, the whole nine yards. That was until the first one invasion. United under Lug the Conquerer, the orc horde tore across the nation, destroying anything in their way. Bryce's village happened to be in the way, and he was the only survivor. Picked up by the High Commander of the Londe army, Bryce was raised to be a knight for most of his life. He learned the way of the sword, the lance, and eventually the musket, though he prefers his longsword even still. He proved himself at the Battle of the Bloody Cliffs, where Londe forces pushed the orc horde into a massive ravine, and rained down arrows and musket fire onto them. He was knighted for his place in the battle, though he always jokes that he didn't do much, which is the truth. He was given a place among the King's court, Bryce's adoptive father soon dying in a skirmish. Overcome by grief, Bryce assembled the entire Londe army and marched for the horde as the standing High Commander, crushing the horde and killing Lug the Conquerer in single combat at the Battle of Highwater, named after the nearby sacked village that the battle was fought near. Or that's what they say. In reality, Bryce shot Lug in the shoulder by accident, and the warlord died of infection a few days later. But the horde was crushed, and Bryce was a hero. But he didn't feel like it. He felt...empty. He had beaten his dragon, and he had nothing. That was until he met the soon-to-be Queen, the Princess. They talked, had a few meetings, and eventually fell in love. The king was all too happy to have his daughter marry a war hero, and Bryce was soon the Prince-Consort. Now he sees the horde is gathering while he has to fight off the Dwarven Confederacy, and the Empire slowly moving into Londe's borders.

Weapons/Armor/Equipment:
Lionsclaw:
This is the sword given to the High Commander of the Londe army, and is prized as a beautifully crafted blade. Forged of magic infused steel, with a hilt carved of the strongest ironwood, and a grip made of dragon hide, it's Bryce's most prized possession. It has to appearance of a longsword with a silver colored blade that has ornate carvings on it, and a lion's head carved into the pommel.

Pistol:
Given to him upon becoming High Commander. He only uses it when he needs to, with the pistol looking very fancy while being quite impractical due to it's weight and the shape of it's grip.
585818fb217e993ff16a5cf9a9d2777f.jpg

Armor:
He wears enchanted steel armor like all knights, with the magic making it so that gunfire is still inaffective to the plate, though he still feels the force of bullet. It has a white lion sigil on the chest, the symbol of Londe and it's people.
8128fcd2178179ca71e8dac299fed24d.jpg
Skills:
Swordmanship
Marksmanship (limited. He's only decent at this.)
Jousting
Horse riding
Strategy

Other:
He has a lot of prejudice against the orcs, and he sees them as mindless savages due to his experiences with them. He has an odd obssesion with finely baked bread and spends most of his time outside of the city, as he hates how it smells in the capital.

No prob. We should clear out how the king and his best soldier get along, though due to their personalities and the fact they are both war heros i feel it wouldnt be bad.
Yeah. And Bryce isn't the king. Londe's leader will be the oldest child of the royal family, not the male one. So his wife is Queen, but he's just the Prince.

Well, that doesnt change the fact she will give her life for him. Since she´s older, she could be a sort of big sister to him. They could be sparring partners.

Solana is what she has to be.

For those who want to be who they are but can't. Solana is who she is for the sake of others. Solana has always been the type to do whatever she can for others, even at the expense of herself. What Solana wants and what Solana does are sometimes two vastly different things. But doing what she has to for the sake of what she cares about, that makes her just as happy as doing what she yearns to do. Making others happy and making sure they are cared for is what keeps a smile on her face. For that reason, Solana wears a mask for a majority of the time. This mask is dignified and mannerly. She is kind and noble. She wants what is best for her people and does not want for herself. She has little personality. She smiles. She acts. And she protects. She takes responsibility for everything. She is proper and she is just. She is a queen.

The real Solana is a little different. The real Solana snorts when she laughs hard enough. Her retorts are sharp and quick. She's stubborn and will argue into the ground about something. She likes to spend her time in the library and wishes she could use a sword like her husband. She practices archery but wants to actually use her skills in the forest. She loves sweets and probably eats too many of them when nobody's looking. She wanted to be a scholar and researcher since she could speak. Knowledge fascinates her and for this very reason, there are times she can't contain her curiosity and sense of adventure so she'll sneak out and curb her desire for something different. This Solana is a little more blunt and a little less proper. This is who she is, hidden under than queenly mask to appear to her people as a pillar of purity and strength.

Very few people get to see underneath this mask. Trust is required. Solana needs to know then when she's shows her true colors to somebody, her vulnerabilities, they aren't going to criticize and judge her but accept her. She only appears strong to people because she wants to. She actually believes herself to be quite weak. When the burden becomes too great, she'll hide herself away, cry, gather her thoughts, and replace the mask. The only one Solana will permit to see her then is Bryce. Solana was not ready to be crowned queen, but made herself ready because she had to be. She was brought up to be ready and while she did prepare, Solana had always wanted something a little different. It was a rude awakening when these dreams, because she always knew they would only ever be dreams, were crushed.

But while she may not have been ready, she loves the kingdom of Londe and its people more than anything. For any one of them, she would do anything. She'd sacrifice herself in an instant if it meant protecting the kingdom. And for that very reason, she did sacrifice herself and replace the space with an idol, a machine.

Solana was what she couldn't be.

Solana was always a rambunctious child since the day she was born. Nothing of what a young princess should have been. She often would get into trouble and loved to go places she shouldn't. She hated dresses and wanted to swing a sword. She spent a lot of time harassing historians and researchers. She had enough energy to motivate an entire village. And the girl always had a smile on her face. With age, her energy did die down and she did calm, but her adventurous spirit always stayed with her. When she was supposed to be practicing etiquette or was required to listen in on another boring deed of the king, she would often disappear and would instead be found in the library or talking to soldiers and squires. The king knew his hands were full but did love his daughter for how she was.

When she got older, she got more serious about researching and adventuring. She collected notes on material, she'd practice alchemy and would find some unlucky servants to play along with whatever she had in mind that day. She loved to learn and her curiosity always had her getting herself into a lot of trouble. She cared much less for her royal duties and much more about discovering new things. Her father decided to turn a blind eye for a while until she got herself hurt rather badly. The infection from that injury nearly killed her and to this day the scar on her lower back is still very much a reminder of her recklessness. After that, restrictions were placed upon her and she was told to get more serious about who she was and less about who she wanted to be.

While Solana was quite unhappy about this, she did respect her father's wishes and would admit that her adventuring could often end badly for her. So, with time and with discipline, Solana did her best to put a lot of her old antics to rest. For the most part. For a while she expected that her father would always have more children, likely a sit fit for the role that would open up one day when her father passed due to old age. She never expected anything different.

Solana had always been infatuated with the life of the soldiers of their army. She envied and admired the excitement they must have felt and how brave each one of them must have been. She'd enjoy listening to the stories they'd tell or others would tell.

One name in particular caught her attention. A knight named Bryce. A man who'd been victorious and given a place on the king's court. At first, she'd wanted to get to know him, perhaps to ask about the battles he had been in, but he'd always seemed busy. It was wonder how they'd even managed to meet in the first place. A few meetings turned into them spending quite a bit more time together. Before Solana knew it, she found herself falling in love with the man and her father approved immediately. Without him, she was sure she might not have been able to make through the transition when she took the throne. To this day, her love for her kingdom only rivals the love she has for the prince.

Weapons
Royal Scepter - A scepter made entirely of gold. It is adorned with various rare gems such emeralds, opals and diamonds. The craft of the scepter is one to none and it is clear whoever made it put a lot of care into its design. It has been in the royal family for generations and while it wouldn't make for much of a weapon in a real fight, getting bashed over the head with it would not feel too good.

Art - A light bow Solana had made just for her. It fits perfectly in her hands and despite its simplistic design is difficult for most to use. While it hasn't seen any combat or hunting experience, Solana has practiced with it often and can occasionally be found firing arrows at targets in the training grounds.

Armor
Solana, having mostly kept herself out of combat and conflict, does not wear armor. Even the metal birds wings on her cloak are made of a soft metal and could easily be pierced with a weapon. Unfortunately, due to her lack of armor and thick clothing in general, if the queen were to ever be attacked, she doesn't have enough protection on her body to avoid injury.

Equipment
Father's Ring - After her father died, Solana took his ring, a thick metal circle emblazoned with the royal crest. The ring can now be found on her left thumb.

Emerald Jewelry - Solana has a lot of emerald jewel as it seems to look best with her attire. Despite that, emeralds tend to be her least favorite jewel.

Journal - While it isn't always on her person, Solana's journal is one of her more guarded possessions. She writes at least one entry a day.

Skills
First Aid - Solana knows a lot about patching up the wounded and taking care of the sick. She can prevent a cut from becoming infected and knows how to craft medicines for those that are ill out of herbs and others ingredients.

Charisma - Being a queen, this is a skill Solana needed to have. She's always been fairly charismatic but after taking on a greater role in the kingdom, she's one of the most charismatic and beloved rulers the kingdom has ever seen.

Persuasion - Perhaps it is the mask Solana wears, her confidence, her stature, or a combination of all three but her most useful tool seems to be her voice. Her words hold a compulsion over others and her speeches are swaying to those who listen.

Music - Solana has always loved music and has learned nearly every instrument that has been made available to her. Her singing is also something to behold.

Archery - Solana isn't the best archer but it's the only offense she has. She's never picked up a sword or shield in her life but if told to hit a target will hardly ever miss.

Accepted!

Then hit me up with ideas what Solana thinks about Emilia, maybe the way Bryce looks up to her has an influence on that, maybe it doesnt, all up to you. ^^
I assume Solana would find Emilia to be more of a close friend than someone to look up to. She would likely be one that Solana was herself with and trusted. She would indeed look up to the woman, in a sense, for her bravery and skills, but it would be more admiration and respect and less dependence. She'd probably ask Emilia to tell her stories about her time fighting and her experience as a warrior frequently as she loves to hear about those kinds of things.

So again a kind of older sister? Sure, i like that ^^ Emilia would gladly tell stories

Would him and Emilia have met before? Maybe on the battlefield, maybe diplomatic. They would at least have heard of each other i´d guess.

Possibly. There's some ways of this happening.

The elves are rather neutral in the affair. Yet, that doesn't mean there was nothing though. Emilia could've accidentally trekked into elven territory, and Borna could've lead forces to drive her off the lands. There wouldn't need to be major battles, just some skirmishes and a minor battle between them. Borna wouldn't hate Emilia though, he would even be alright with meeting her.

There's also a non-aggressive way they could've meet. Borna could've spent some time following her army as a war tourist, observing battles from the distance. This would allow them to meet each other without much tension between them.
Id prefer the second. He would´ve seen her fight, he would know she is a force to be reckoned with which is important in the case of a war. And maybe they even got to talk?
