Fantasy War of the Crimson Throne CS

Rusty of Shackleford

Ten Thousand Club
Name:

House: (If they're of nobility, what House do they come from? You can make this up, or be part of a House someone makes themselves.)

Title: (If any.)

Age: (Must he at least 16.)

Side: (Loyalists support the bastard child of Ethew, while the Councilists support the late King's cousin.)

Bond: (If they are going to have children, who will it be with? Basically, who will be/is their lover?)

Appearance:

Personality:

Background:

Lady Elysia Zeeward, the Widow
Lady of Greymont
34 years of age
A loyalist at heart

The House of Zeeward
"The Sea be our Shield"
The Zeeward family has occupied a signifigant strip of the Watcher's Coast for generations. They are, so to speak, the titular Watchers. From the grand fortress-city Greymont, they keep their eyes to the seas, ever dutiful, ever ready. The Zeewards have long been known as the sole bulkwark against the threats of the Grey Sea, and it is a title held proudly by any who bears the name. In recent years, however, the Zeeward lineage has grown sparce. Elysia was the fourth daughter of Adal Zeeward, the former patriarch of the family. Now, however, Elysia is the last adult to bear her family name. Her brothers and father were lost to sea several years ago, and shortly after, the only child born by her eldest brother was lost to sickness. This left just her to bear the weight of her family's titles and estates. Facing threats on all sides, the future of the family seems grim.

Bonds

Elysia has been married thrice, and each marriage ended in tragedy. With such a long history of death following her, it is no surprise that she has long been the subject of unseemly rumors and speculations. Those of lacking morals whisper in courts across the kingdom that she was the very one responsible for her many husbands' deaths, bestowing the title of "Spider" upon her. Whether or not this is true, of her three marriages, she has found herself left with two children; each a boy from a different husband.

Appearance
A bard passing through Greymont once described Lady Elysia better than any other ever could. She looks like a woman in perpetual mourning. Her complexion is pale, eyes carrying the harrow look of one who has seen far more than their years. She wears modest clothes of grey and black, the traditional colours of house Zeeward, and rarely deviates from such a colour scheme. This has the unfortunate side effect of making her seem quite dreary, no matter her actual mood.

The Lady Herself
Elysia Zeeward is a woman shaped by her many hardships. She is strong, and posesses an admirable amount of determination. This has the unfortunate side effect of far too often making her seem stubborn, as she is slow to relent on any decision she has already made. She believes that hardships teach the best lessons, and that failure is necessary to succeed. Those in her staff often comments that she often looks tired, and spends long periods of time "just resting her eyes." As the Lady of Greymont, she has many duties to attend to; the fleet, keep, and city all demand equal attention. She enjoys simplicity and efficiency in all things, and is not one to engage in extravagent ceremony. The safety of her people comes before all else in her mind, even her children. This has resulted in her being a... lacking mother, at times. Working long hours and leaving the two boys to the care of the keep staff is a common occurance for her, though she relishes whatever time she can spend with them.
(Hope all this is acceptable. I've thought perhaps too much about her seat, Greymont, if that could help with developing the setting at all. For the record, I'm completely okay with the idea of someone taking a position in Elysia's family, as a cousin or member of her household. Just leaving that idea in the air if anyone is looking for a character idea, I suppose.)

House Lewis
"Ride the Wind"

Title: (If any.)
Lord

Age: (Must he at least 16.)

Side: (Loyalists support the bastard child of Ethew, while the Councilists support the late King's cousin.)
Loyalists

Bond: (If they are going to have children, who will it be with? Basically, who will be/is their lover?)
TBD

Appearance:
af2496dd8fab581a2c713b087bf2f559 (1).jpg
Personality:
Percy, being thrust into a position of responsibility, does his best to handle the current mess that Byrne is. He was trained most of his life to be a knight, expecting his older brother to take over after their father died. But since his brother died alongside his father at the Crimson Council, he's forced to be Lord, just a few weeks away from his knighting ceremony. He tries to stay positive as much as he can, despite how badly things are going, and is known to make jokes no matter the situation.

Background:
Born the second son of the Lewis', a House known for their loyalty to the crown, Percy had a pretty normal childhood with his brother, Liam. They often played in between their lessons and church, and were incredibly close. While Liam was taught how to run the House, Percy was taught the way of the knight, and eventually learned that he had the potential to channel divine magic. Magic of any kind is quite rare, especially in this day and age, so in accordance with the church, he was sent off to a monastery in the mountains, learning how to use oath magic to channel his abilities. He swore an oath to kingdom and crown when he was eighteen, being three years away from being knighted, and serving the church as a White Knight. But two years later, the Crimson Council tore the nation apart. With his brother and father dead, he was called back home, leaving his destiny to carve his own path in life.

Name: Isek Grayhope

House: Grayhope of Watcher's Coast.
"This Too Shall Pass."

Grayhope got its name from how in the decisive battle for who gained the Lordship Isek's ancestor's troops managed to take advantage of an unusually foggy day to catch their enemies by surprise.

House Grayhope's main resources are its salt harvesting and fish. Since the land lacks salt mines salt must be taken from the sea. This results in a more work-intensive process but is safer for the laborers so Grayhope doesn't have to rely on slave labor. Raider attacks have been fewer after Isek outfitted ships to be used as pirate-hunters with bounties paid for no attacks or dead pirates.

Grayhope doesn't have much of an army, but the troops it does have are adapt at guerilla warfare and using the Coast's lands to their advantage. And since they're drawn from the commoners who show skill they're fighting for the land they live on.

Title: Lord.

Age: 33

Side: Neither. Isek will commit to neither side, claiming that the gods will decide the winner. In actuality he knows it won't be about that, but refuses to sacrifice his House's resources to the civil war. He trusts that his and his House's lack of value for fighting the war and committed neutrality will mean the winner won't seek retribution. Still he's incredibly paranoid about ensuring his perceived neutrality.

Bond:

Isek's wife (the last daughter of a minor noble) died in childbirth with their only child, Ilizabeth who is currently 12. Isek is trying to decide if he should wait and hope to marry her off to someone who'll uphold his House's legacy or remarry in the hopes of a male heir.

Currently the only other person who Isek has any kind of bond with is his personal manservant, Donvin Salt ('Salt' being the last name of bastards in the Watcher's Coast). Donvin is the bastard child of Isek's uncle, but they have a real friendship.

Appearance:
1545966690613.png

Personality:
Lord Isek Grayhope isn't a miser but he's notorious for demanding an accounting for every coin spent. He's paranoid about continuing his House's legacy and convinced that he needs to keep strict control to ensure it.
Around his servants he gives short detailed instructions but knows their names.
He's only truly relaxed around his daughter or Donvin, with those who know him finding it hard to recognize the uptight stressed man when he's with her or drunk and merry with him.

As a person Isek is held together only by whatever pleasures he can partake in while working and the few moments he can spend with his daughter. He is incredibly protective of her and if anything happened to her he'd show them the reason why no pirate has landed in the Coasts since the first year of his Lordship.

Background:
Isek was raised being told that he had to uphold his House's honor and protect his House. Lessons in math, history, strategy, and the mechanics of the Coast left him little time for leisure. It was only upon assuming the Lordship at age 28 upon his father's death that he realized he could do something for himself. He chose to spend that time with his 7 year old daughter, doting on her as the one thing he didn't need to keep a crushing control over.

1 year into his Lordship pirates began sailing in and pillaging the Coast. Isek spent a considerable amount of money and resources outfitting a fleet of pirate-hunting ships and personally executed 37 pirates. Attacks stopped. Since then he's attempted to find a way to solve the problem of his House's future, knowing that if he dies his daughter might not be enough to keep the House going.

Then the King died, the land fell into civil war, and the hair on Isek's temples turned gray from the stress.

HOUSE
HOUSE OF AMOVEO

TITLE
COUNT 'CHERRY'

AGE
23

SIDE
COUNCILIST ON THE STREETS, LOYALIST IN THE SHEETS? (HIS FAMILY IS COUNCILIST BUT HE DISAGREES WITH THEIR VIEWS)

BOND
Talk to me about this!

PERSONALITY

He likes to say he has two sides to him. The one he shows in the day, the one he shows at nights. One role he plays when he's around strangers and one around his friends. When the sun is out, he's rather quiet and introverted in nature. He tries not to embarrass his family name. He's a bit shy and doesn't like to be in the spotlight. He just simply isn't used to it. He still has a curious, playful little glimmer to him, but it is much less prominent in the days. Wren mostly hides behind his parents and siblings, trying not to attract attention towards himself. He's like a caged bird, too afraid to make any sounds. He's a studious, meek and humble person.

When he's in a more relaxed environment, his real self jumps out. Loud, full of laughter and curiosity. He's mischievous and boisterous, courageous enough to do things that aren't exactly accepted. He might study books during the days but there's a certain kind of cleverness in the way he walks, talks and acts. He loses all restraints and does exactly what he wants. He throws away the naiveness, innocence and need to act like nobles do. He won't be afraid to argue, debate and even start quarreling if something doesn't please him.

Background: Wren was born to Crell and Juno Amoveo nineteen years ago. His family watches over Andrus river, known for running a trading business. He has an older brother named Way and an older sister named Mina. Due to him being the youngest of them all, he never had the same kind of responsibility as others. Way would be the leader of this house after Crell's death, Mina and Wren would be married off like some pawns to strengthen beneficial relationships with other houses. Not that his family didn't love him equally like the rest of his siblings, he was just a bit...less of a priority.

Sure, he was educated in the same fashion as his siblings, but he had more freedom and less spotlight than the rest. His older siblings needed to have their names out in the world and hold a certain image. Wren, in the shadows, started wandering off since no one was looking. He found a sense of community and familiarity among thieves and other petty rogues. After living the disciplined life in the days with his family, he'd go around at nights, having fun and wreaking havoc, behaving like children his age did. He has been living this Hannah Montana life for quite some while. No one has discovered his true identity just yet. His parents are eager to marry him off at an early age to secure his future in these dangerous times.

Appearance:
24B078B3-3FAA-4393-88F7-6D48B110BFAA.jpeg

Personality:
Juno is a woman who always looks after her own people, living by the code of House Yogyeo, "Strength in Fraternity." She is extremely charismatic among the people with her benevolent acts and lightheartedness. But while she shares a soft spot for the common man, she is pragmatic and only takes action when necessary. She shells her emotions from others in order to make herself seem strong, any sign of weakness would give her enemies something to exploit. As Chancellor of the Kingdom she is almost always busy in meetings with the Royal Court with the ministers of the court, and it puts a toll on her with the Kingdom being split. She is always looking for a peaceful resolution to be sought or find some sort of way to end this conflict quickly with victory for her side. But despite all this stress and pressure, she always keeps her cool so that her followers won't panic. She can at times be witty and sarcastic.

Background:
Born the youngest of three children. House Yogyeo had ruled Aiju and was an old rival to the Amblecrowns, attempting to take the throne many times until the two houses decided to end the conflict through vassalage. Juno’s sister, Minh was to be Diplomatic Minister to Amblecrown, preserving the peace. When her mother, Lady Yogyeo of Aiju died, her older brother, Kang became Lord of Aiju and started an expansionist campaign in order to break Yogyeo out of their vassalage. Yogyeo soldiers had expanded its borders and their military grew in size. These acts of aggression reached the Amblecrowns and both Kang and Minh had disputed over the future of Yogyeo until Minh mysteriously died. To prevent further sorrow, Kang obeyed the wishes of his sister and ceased expansion of Yogyeo. Meanwhile, Juno was an official in the Royal Court. Her efforts would compliment her sisters legacy and working to improve relations between the houses and eventually she worked her way to Civil Affairs Minister and eventually Chancellor of the Kingdom, after all her deeds and nominations from other nobles. Later she would investigate into her sisters and found out how a few councilists were responsible which made her a hard loyalist.

HOUSE ZIHAKHNY

1546137776787.png
"Beneath Only the Sky"

The Northlands is the name placed upon the White Mountains, and the lands to the south and north of their reaches. The region finds itself occupied by Brynemen, the old Cderi mountain clans that had existed prior even to the Amblecrowns, raiders from over the western seas who had settled on the coast and called themselves Skjadi, and the ferocious 'savage' men from the North, the Tvarans.

The Amblecrown Dynasty had neglected the Northlands, using the White Mountains as a dumping ground for nobles who didn't dance to the whims of the higher courts, while expecting them to defend the country against northern savages. Dropping a bunch of influential noble criminals in the mountains didn't help the locals, as these men would often attempt to conquer parts of the mountains for themselves with whatever influence and coin they'd brought with them. Weak from famine, plague, and infighting, and without supply from the South during a venomous noble feud involving the Yogyeos and the Amblecrown, the Brynemen of the White Mountains did the unthinkable. They spoke to the savages, made deals. The northmen, who called themselves Tvarans, were quite interested in mending relations with their southern neighbors, and through their aid, many more survived the Winter than would have without. The Tvarans could be admired, their leadership was organized, concise, and respected, whereas the Brynemen of the mountains struggled from noble infighting. The Brynemen, although reluctant to give up power, realized that it would be for their benefit, and made a proposition to the Tvarans.

From that day forward, the Tvaran Zihakhny Family has ruled over the region, including not only the range of the White Mountains, and the lands occupied south of them by the old noble families, but also their own lands stretching north of the Mountains. The settled Skjadi were absorbed into the region through marriage, and even the Cderi could be convinced to stop raiding Brynemen farms, after the Zihakhny's Lord slew a powerful Cderi chieftan in single combat.

The Zihakhny family rules the mountains from the famed Bryne fortress of Northguard. The land is harsh, and resources are lacking, but the Zihakhny House has a talent for leadership and war. The house trades furs, iron, and lumber to southern lands, although they are only powerful in the fur trade. Whereas the southern kingdoms rely upon elite knights to form the power of their armies, the northmen wield powerful and courageous infantry, armed with spear, mace, and axe.

Kuroklaya Vyad Zihakhny
(Kuroklaya translates to Lord)

Age: 48

Side: Independence. Loyalists and Councilists be damned, the men of Oskova will forge our nation in the fires of this war. Through diplomacy, or through war, no more shall the White Mountains bow to the Amblecrown!

Bond: Vyad has a wife, Sigurda, with which he has a son and two daughters; Ivor, Kyadi, and Algird. Ivor, who is 29, is a warrior and capable administrator, while Kyadi is a fierce red-haired huntress of 24. Lastly, Algird is a soft-spoken raven-haired woman of 21, who shows promise with diplomacy. Ivor himself is married.

Additionally, Vyad is close with his three Sworn Men, one from each of the three ethnic groups in the region. Hroskjall of the Skjadi, Kern of the Cderi, and Johan of the Brynemen. They act as bodyguards and advisors to the Kuroklaya.

Appearance:
vivi15.jpg

Personality: Vyad is a warrior, through and through. He is stern, with an often unsmiling face. He speaks little, and comes off as remarkably hostile to those unfamiliar with him.

Background: Despite the success of his House in uniting the Northlands, things have not always been peaceful. Squabbles between nobility and the occasional rebellion from whatever noble exile was shoved northwards have kept Vyad's axe wet with blood through the years. Despite the problems, generally Vyad's reign has been even and prosperous. Trade across the Western Sea through the Skjadi brings in money for the House, and through the advise of his son Ivor, a road and postal system has been established, even through the mountains along a series of roads and bridges.

House of Von Kriegwächter
"Strength to the Shield. Strength to the Lion. We Shall Stand Firm 'Till the End."
The House of Von Kriegwächter is located in the Southlands, or the "Softlands" as some of the other households call it. Unlike most of the households up North, the Southlands are rather stable region that has seen much expansion from the House of Von Kriegwächter in terms of infrastructure. There are plenty of roads to utilize to travel throughout the Southlands, not to mention the only passage through the Southern Mountain Range, where rich trading caverns from the Desert Kingdoms must pass in order to travel further up North to teh Heartland of Byrne. Furthermore a number of rivers that flow from the capital of the Southlands towards both the Heartland and the Houses located on the coasts.

The Southlands are known for a number of specializes. The mild climate of the Southland provide it's lands with fertile soil that could support both farming and livestock, making the Southlands quite the exporter for various crops and livestock. The Southlands also encompasses the Southern Mountain ranges, a nature barrier between the Kingdom of Byrne and the desert kingdoms further South. The Southern Mountain ranges themselves house coal and iron, to which there are a number of active mining outposts working to extract these resources. Both of these resources are often exported to the other Houses as well as to the Royal Families. However, the combination of a surplus of food and the resources from the mountains have provided the Southlands the capacity for great industrial development rivaled only by the Heartland. To further fuel this industrial development, the capital of the Southlands contains a University where many intellectuals gather to preform research, working to develop new technology for the ruling Household, who finical the University and it's projects.

Perhaps because of the intellectual advances, the established Church appears to have less authority down South compared to it's power up North. In fact, the Southlands may also be producing a new, splinter church that deviates from the practices of the current Established Church.

The army of the Von Kriegwächter family is also rather different then most other houses. Instead of warriors, the Von Kriegwächter family prides themselves on their state troops. The professionalization of the Von Kriegwächter army is a result of decades of military theorization and political maneuvering in order for this idea to be realized. These soldiers are drawn en mass from the lower classes, trained with standardized manuals with the ruling Houshold providing the funding for the equipment. These soldiers are often lead by officers of the higher classes, although there is the rare gem-among-rocks type of officer among the command structure. However, the more merit based system of promotions among the lower ranks has seen a number of talent rise to the forefront of the army, as NCOs often are the true backbone that keep the army together. The only true "traditional" aspect of the Von Kriegwächter army is the Knightly Order of the Iron Cross, whom's traditional duties are to protect the Southern Mountain Passage leading into the Kingdom of Byrne. Furthermore, with it's technological innovations, the Von Kriegwächter family may be the first family to introduce gunpowder weaponry to their arsenal, albeit in the form of a very small and prototype cannon battery.

A number of problems also plague the Southlands. Banditry is quite common among the Southlands, as although the ruling House is making an effort to crack down upon the lawless, here are still a dangerous level of bandits that often pray upon the trade caverns or resource caverns moving along the roads or rivers. Furthermore, the Southlands must fight off the occasional invasions from the Desert Tribes of the South through the Southern Mountain Pass. As a result of these invasions, the Order of the Iron Cross has their quaters station to guard the passage should a large invasion force threaten to overrun the Kingdom of Bryne.

At the moment, Southlands have largly ignored the ongoing civil conflict up North, as the ruling house has just repulsed another Desert Tribe invasion, and has elect to sit out and observe the power struggle up North. The House of Von Kriegwächter has yet to mutiny against the Royal Family, however at the same time they have yet to pledge their full loyalty to the Loyalist. Given their resources, wealth, and they're army, whoever can prusade the House of Von Kriegwächter to their side can find quite a powerful ally...or potentially, make a dangerous enemy.

Appearance:

Personality: Volkmar cuts himself as quite the handsome rouge, yet don't be fooled, he's more then just a pretty face. Although Volkmar is skilled as a warrior in his own right, Volkmar's truth strength lies in his innovative strategies and his charisma. Volkmar is credited for finishing his fathers reforms of the Von Kriegwatcher's army, with professionalization of the army's soldiers and introduction of new technology into their ranks. Furthermore, Volkmar is a rather charismatic man, whose words could inspire the feeblest of men to stand and fight for their home. Yet, despite Volkmar's military skill set, Volkmar is also quite the innovative statesman as well, pushing for more liberal policies and championing technological innovations throughout the lands under Von Kriegwatcher. Even with the amount of good he has done for his Household, there have been...moral questionable about Volkmar's method in achieving these results. Most of this comes from Volkmar's deviations to the status quo gods, but this also comes from the political discord to which Volkmar manipulates in order to achieve what he calls the "Great Good".
Background: Volkmar was born the youngest twin to the "Mad Count", and grew up quite the talkative one next to her rather quiet sister. From even a young age, Volkmar found himself an advert reader and took well to education, particularly when it came to military theory. Furthermore, Volkmar would find himself enjoying the various party functions that the royalty attended to. All the people, and all the political intrigued that occurred just from somthing as simple as a dance. As Volkmar grew older, he would purse a different path then her sister. Volkmar would continue his education, although he would later be sent to military school to be educated as an officer. Volkmar would then gain further experince, particapting in both military and politcal discords until his father enivtably kicked the bucket. Now, Volkmar is the leader of the Von Kriegwatcher Household, and has done much for his people and the land with what he has. Though the brewing storm ahead is about to test all that Volkmar has built....

Name: Countess Sieghilde von Kriegwächter
House: House of Von Kriegwächter
Title: Countess of the House of Von Kriegwächter , Grandmaster of the Order of the Iron Cross, The Lioness of the South
Age: 32
Side: At the moment, neutral
Bond: Volkmar Von Kriegwächter is the twin of Sieghilde. Sieghilde is not yet married, although the reasons why is questionable. There are a few theories floating about on this matter: Some say that Sieghilde has never laid with a man, and in actuality is only intreasted in women. Others say that she will only consider laying with warriors that have beaten her, of which the number can be counted on one hand. It's important to stress that these are theories, as any accusation of such is meet by with a deathly silence by the Grandmaster. If anything, it is her brother and her companions who get the most upset at such accusations.
Appearance:
c3044814ba751a67f04c507d32a40857.jpg

Personality: Sieghilde is women of few words, often letting her actions lead her more then her words and leading by example, such as leading the Knightly Order from the front. In fact, you'd hardly recognize that Sieghilde is a women, considering that the vast majority of the time she is wearing her helmet. However, don't be mistaken, when Sieghilde speaks she does so in a commanding voice, a voice that most people in a room would pay attention to. Yet with or without her helmet, Sieghilde can be quite an intimating women, with little patience for novelties, as both her demeanor and her skills as a knight can cause even the most experienced of soldiers to tremble in fear.
Background:
Born the eldest of the twins to the "Mad Count", Sieghilde grew up for the most part a quiet girl alongside her more talkative brother. At first, this was seen as "proper behavior" for a women of her status, that was until both Von Kriegwatchers became older enough to learn more martial skills. Even from the beginning, Sieghilde was clearly the better fighter of the two, consistently beating her brother during their one-on-one sparing. And when beating her brother became two easy, Sieghilde was pitted against other noble children, then other apprentices and cadets, some of which were even older then she was. This caught the attention of the previous Grandmaster Order of the Iron Cross, who saw that Sieghilde's skills at combat trumpted her position as a women, and thus using her position made her his squire. Sieghilde would go on to become a kngiht of the order, and would eventurally rise to become the first female Grandmaster of the Knightly Order after the previous Grandmaster fell defending the Southern pass.
Volkmar and Sieghilde are Co-Councilst, being technically equal birthright, in fact Sieghilde was suppose to be the one to claim the title as Dutchess until she voluntarily reliqushed it to her younger brother. Sieghilde is presence at the council as a formality(and protection), often delegating the politics to her twin brother.

Appearance:

Personality: Vyad is a warrior, through and through. He is stern, with an often unsmiling face. He speaks little, and comes off as remarkably hostile to those unfamiliar with him.

Background: Despite the success of his House in uniting the Northlands, things have not always been peaceful. Squabbles between nobility and the occasional rebellion from whatever noble exile was shoved northwards have kept Vyad's axe wet with blood through the years. Lord Saloman Umber

"Slay the Solemn Ghost"

IMG_0664.jpg

Title:
Lord

Age:
48

Side:
Councilists

Bond:
Saloman has his beloved wife Gwendys. As well as two boys Auster, Tyral and one daughter; little Stelsa

Personality:
Throughout Saloman's life, he has had to learn many things by himself. He always tries to keep an optimistic view of things. Life can always get better, he's living proof of that. Throughout his travels across the sea, he has been witness to a wide variety of views. This leads him to often consider more unique solutions. it has served him well in his time as a mercenary and as Lord. Saloman also highly values family. Something he never had in his childhood and now intends to make up for it. In his later age, he is sure to make the most out of life, and not waste precious time with one another. During his time across the sea, he had been in some very intense and traumatic battles leading him to have great anxiety of ships, especially small ones on open water

Background:
Saloman was born in a large trade city to the South. His Mother was a devoted servant to the church of Lianous. His Father was a "charming" local drunk, who his mother had a little to much fun with one night. Solaman's mother was mortified at what she had done. Deciding it was better not to have a constant reminder of the mistakes she made. So Saloman was sent away as soon as he was born. He would never learn about his Father, not that it matters anyway. He would eventually learn about his Mother but that wasn't till much later in his life.

Growing up in the slum streets was rough. He would have to fend for himself at a young age. The household he grew up in made it very obvious he was not wanted. It seemed wherever he went, he was not wanted. The only place he ever felt at home was at the church of Lianous. He would often hang around the grounds listening to the stories of the Paladins, and helping with odd chores. Saloman was infatuated with the teachings of the church and its sense of divine purpose. As soon as Saloman was of age he joined the order working on becoming a full-fledged Battlemaster. Things looked bright for the young boy, he was a hard fighter from his days on the street and his zealous devotion to the teachings made him a prodigy. Few years after he had obtained the title of Battlemaster, he learned of the existence of his Mother. Soon after Saloman was Excommunicated from the church. The church was never inclined to say why he was forced out and it's a very touchy subject to bring up with Saloman. Of course, there were rumors. Some say he was actually running a gambling ring that exploited the poor, or that he was feeding people to his pets. While others say after learning about his Mother, he killed her with his bare hands.

CoatofArms2.jpgWhatever rumors you believe Saloman and the church have never been on good terms since. After he left Saloman wandered for a bit. He eventually fell in with a group of roaming mercenaries. It seemed to fit him and he had success with the traveling warriors. He felt like this was finally his calling something he was good at. He eventually even formed his own group with the money he made. The Scarlet Hounds. Named after Saloman's fondness for war hound he encounters on his travels. His group found great fortune in the far South and made their mark as mercenaries across the sea.

After years and years of work Saloman ultimately made his way back to his homeland. Using the fortunes he made, along with the influence he gained from across the sea. Saloman gained the title of Lord. Founding the House of Umber. It's banner paying homage to his origins in the Scarlet Hounds. Since then he has settled down at the edge of the Long Woods, stating his adventuring days are done with. He has married a beautiful spitfire, Gwendys and has had three children who are now all coming of age. His house exports timber, herbs, and furs. It also boasts some of the best hunting grounds in the country making it a prime destination for nobles and even the royal family at some points. Saloman still breeds his beloved hounds and is considered befitting gift among nobles.

Saloman is often absent from the political games of the other Lords. this is mostly due to Saloman's often bizarre ideals, making him something of an outlyer. It really doesn't bother him. After surviving his time as a mercenary he dieresis to send the rest of his days with the family he built around him. That being said, he is not ignorant to the world around him and will fight for his beliefs if necessary. He simply cannot watch from the side while his countrymen tear themselves apart. Saloman is friends with the Kings cousin, He believes the cousin is far more ready for the throne than the boy. Not to mention he actually has the Amblecrown blood.

"Most of the nobles supporting the young boy seek to manipulate him for their own selfish goals. They're taking advantage of the boy's naivety, using him as a puppet. Though not all believe this way, such ideas are not unfounded. He is not ready for the throne and I cannot watch my home be corrupted from the inside out, not while I can still do something about it"
