Hello folks, how's it going? Hope you're all doing well and such.
If we haven't met before, allow me to introduce myself: I'm clarinetti, and I've been consistently around RPN over the past year, though I've been doing threads for much longer. I've largely been floating around the Fandoms and Fantasy RP's, but recently finished up a big thread and am now looking to branch out and try something a bit smaller in scale, hence the reason for my search. Just a couple of things to discuss:
General: Communication is a must for me- even if we're not posting on a daily basis, I'd like to remain in contact via the OOC or PM every day or two, just to know that you're still around. If either of our schedule's become busy and it becomes difficult to keep up with the thread, I'm more than willing to try and work something out as needed. If at any point you lose interest in the RP, that's fine: just please be upfront with me about it rather than disappearing without a word.
Posting Expectations: Usually I write anywhere between 2-8 paragraphs (A paragraph consisting of 5-8 full sentences) per post, depending on the time/frequency between posts- I'd like someone who's able to match that level of writing. Proper spelling and grammar are also important to me, and I expect the same from my partner. I don't mean to sound strict or anything, but I just want to make sure we are on the same page and that we both put the same effort and level of quality into it.
If you're curious about my writing style, I've taken a couple excerpts from my previous work and posted them below. That's not to say I'm looking for someone with the same style, but just want to give an example of what I'll be doing.

The Slums of Kirigakure
Tomo was aware of the people approaching long before they knew of his presence. Even as he lay there half asleep he could hear the footsteps and quiet murmurs over the gentle pattering of the rain which had begun a short while ago- they'd find him within the next few minutes. He had hoped it would stop, that he could wait out the incoming weather rather than get soaked and cold no sooner than he had found a place to warm up. But when had life made an effort to go easy on anyone, let alone himself? Oh well, it had been nice while it lasted (comfortable even), though after the week he had endured, the rogue figured he'd fall asleep on any flat surface available to him.
As the footsteps came to an abrupt halt, coupled with a pair of gasps, the man forced his heavy eye open, and after blinking a few times the blurs of dull colour formed themselves into three civilians standing at the doorway to the small shack which Tomo had taken refuge in. Even as he gazed dozily at them, he could sense the panic and fear rolling off them in waves- likely thought he was a burglar or some psychopath waiting to murder them in their home, he contemplated. Shaking the last of his fatigue from his body, he slowly stood up, keep his hands visible at all times to the trio as he pulled himself up from the cot which he had been resting on. "Ahhh, this is kind of awkward, hey?" he said as he scratched his head a bit. "Sorry for having barged in like this- the rain started coming, and with everything as it is out there I needed a place to dry off." "Get out of my house, you shinobi bastard." the old man suddenly interrupted, quiet anger tinging his voice, and Tomo could tell that though he was crooked and withered, there was strength in his not-so frail body. Seeing the surprise on the Iwa-man's face, the fellow approached him a bit, the grip on his cane tightening, a stony glare on his face all the while. "I see that protector in your bag, and that's all I need to know. You're one of the buggers that have been running around getting the soldiers riled up, aren't ya? If someone finds you here, they'll have us gutted right next to you." he continued Hmmm, I wonder what all these 'other shinobi' been up to that's been causing such a ruckus out there? I guess I'll have to see for myself, though it's a shame that I overslept- seems the festivities have started without me.
"I'm sorry, that my presence has caused you so much trouble and stress.... There's some crab in the pot still, and I left the fish for you to do what you want with it. Also, there were a few leaks in your roof, so I hope you don't mind if I patched them up. I know it's not much, but I figured it's the least I could do for crashing at your place as I have." "Anyways, I better get going- it's rude to overstay one's welcome, yea? You folks have a nice day."
Town Square
It was her colleague who broke the bubble of silence between the two of them."... We can discuss this tomorrow during the staff meeting- I'll have Bonnie put it on the agenda and email the teachers to inform them. I'll also have her contact the mayor's office in order to arrange a meeting between the board and the council... This matter is far from over, I assure you." Carmelita stated resolutely, a steely glint in her eyes. Anna simply nodded in agreement, seeing little point to hashing it out now when the news was so fresh- better to wait until everyone knew and got over the shock. They exchanged a few more words, and after saying their good-byes went their separate ways, the teacher looking one last time towards the platform to watch Coden smugly work the crowd before heading towards the diner.
As Anna strode towards the diner, she took a few deep breaths as she tried to clear her head. As much as she hated to admit it, she was utterly pissed at the mayor, and by extension the council for just letting him do whatever he liked. Of course, she hadn't expected things to go in the school's favor, and the fact that she still let it bother her frustrated her more than anything. It's not my problem what that egotistical prick decides to waste the town's assets on- my contract's up this year, and by the time school starts up again, I'll be hopefully in Seattle, for good this time around, she reminds herself, though the promise felt hollow. But either way, there was no point in her getting upset- she had work to get done, and it would do her no good to be a foul mood. Setting aside her annoyance for now, her ears perked as she swore she heard someone calling her. Looking around, she managed to catch sight of her brother in the dispersing crowd, waving his hands to catch her attention, a beaming grin on his face. It was an innocent enough gesture, but it was enough to make her quietly chuckle in amusement nonetheless.
"Well, look who it is- you have a good rest Sleeping Beauty?" she asked him as he approached, to which he shrugged his shoulders, completely unfazed by her words. "Ahh, well I wouldn't have minded another hour or two, but I suppose I'll have to manage... sorry to keep you waiting." Rob replied, his voice still laced with sleep. Rolling her eyes the woman scoffed a bit, but a trace of a smile could be detected all the while. "Hmph, well a message would've been nice, but we'll let bygones be bygones- come on, let's get you coffee." Anna stated, and with that the pair proceeded towards the diner, manoeuvring through the clusters of people and festival-goers as needed. "So, did I miss anything interesting? Heard plenty of cheering, so I'm guessing something must've happened." her brother asked, and while her faint smile remained, she had to bite her lip to keep herself from twisting it into a frown. "It was fine- Mayor made an announcement that they're expanding the logging company, so that's probably the fuss you heard." she replied bluntly, irritation lacing her tone. Her gaze flicking towards her brothers', she caught him glancing at her, but to his merit merely nodded his head. "Ahh, I see." he stated, and nothing more was said on the matter, to her reli-
Suddenly, the teacher felt something, or rather someone, slam into her and send her tumbling backwards, though she managed to stretch out her arms to avoid landing flat on the asphalt. Muttering an inaudible curse the woman pulled herself up, her gaze becoming steely as she looked up to see an unfamiliar man standing before her, rubbing his shoulder- he was clearly the one who had bumped into her. "Sorry about that. You alright?" the stranger muttered, and taking in the fellow's appearance, it didn't take much to deduce who he was. So he's the one who's twisted the Mayor's knickers, the fellow who'd wandered into Pasecoda a week or two ago- Venn, wasn't it? I can see why he's had such a, polarizing reaction on some of the townsfolk, if he goes around bumping into people and cussing like a sailor, she considered, and if she wasn't so fed up and annoyed she might've snorted in amusement. She'd heard whispers and rumours amongst the staff about the fellow, debating if he'd be staying in town for long and worrying that he'd be a corrupting influence on the youth, but this is what they'd been worried about? Sure, the guy had some tattoos and his demeanour a bit edgy, but he didn't seem as risque or dangerous as the rumour mill implied.
"I'm fine, thank you, though I suggest you watch where you're going next time." Anna replied flatly, giving him a dead-eyed look as she said it. She probably wasn't giving off the best first impression, but she was tired and bitter and thoroughly agitated at how the day had gone so far- the last thing she had was patience for a stranger. It was difficult enough tolerating bullshit from the people whom she'd known nearly her whole life.... but there was no need for her to be excessively rude to him, since it had all been an accident supposedly. "I don't believe we have been introduced yet. I'm Anna Koehler- I believe you are already acquainted with my brother, Rob." she continued, extending her arm out to shake hands with Pasecoda's newest resident.
Genres: I'm pretty open to most kinds of RP's, though I typically lean towards ones with sci-fi, supernatural, or fantasy elements to them. Also down for stories placed in a historical or post-apocalyptic setting. Generally I'm not a fan of horror or slice-of-life, but if you have an idea, I'm willing to hear it out. I also do fandoms: If you have a fandom-based idea not on the list below, just throw it at me and I'll give you my thoughts on the matter- I'm always willing to check out a new fandom!
Some settings/ ideas I'm interested in (Open to suggestions!):
Fandom:
-Marvel (X-MEN, Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D)
-DC (Young Justice, Legion of Superheroes, Teen Titans, Green Lantern Corps)
-Fables Comics/ The Wolf Among Us (Video Games)
-Asura's Wrath (Video Game)
-The Last of Us (Video Game)
-Outlander (TV)
-Misfits (TV)
-Vikings (TV)
-Game of Thrones (TV/Books)
-Sense8 (TV)
Fantasy/Supernatural:
-Japanese/Hindu/Celtic/Greek Mythology
-Feudal Era Japan with demons/demigods
-Supernatural community in modern day setting
-Small town being plagued by supernatural entity
Plots: Rather than post any specific plot ideas here, I'd prefer if we collaborate on coming up with a detailed outline together. I've tried working in threads where we just 'wing it' and it never seems to work out, so I'd rather take the time that we may both contribute ideas on building a fun, interesting story.
Characters: I enjoy writing complex, flawed characters, and would like to work with someone who puts an equal amount of time creating original individuals with the potential to grow and develop over the course of the RP. Generally I prefer playing female characters, but am comfortable with doing male characters as well. Whether you want to have one main character, multiple main characters, NPC's, and so on, I'm all good, so long as the same level of detail and quality goes into their creation.
Romance: I'm down for romance, but it's not mandatory. I've done almost exclusively MxF scenarios, however I would be willing to try an MxM or FxF. Typically I prefer doing slow-burns, but am flexible and willing to hear different opinions on pacing and such.
So, you made it through my long post- excellent! If you have any questions or comments on the aforementioned topics, please let me know. Thanks again for hearing me out, and looking forward to hearing from you!
