  The Lemoine family’s history can be traced all the back to Haiti, where the matriarch of the Lemoines, Josephine, emigrated from during the Hatian Revolution with family. A powerful young woman in her own right, Josephine came from a family of voodoo practitioners, though they hid this knowledge from the public to avoid persecution. Josephine then went on to marry a free soldier by the name of Anthony, a former slave who earned his freedom through battle. Anthony was a descendant of voodoo practitioners, his parents having been practitioners before they were separated. He later began the practice of hoodoo, using what was around him to make it through life. It is said by working the roots that he was able to meet his sweet Josephine. The Lemoine family is highly regarded within the magical community, a family of purebloods and half bloods known for their rich history, their resilience, and wealth.

  Désirée was born into the Lemoine family, a family highly regarded in the magical community of New Orleans. Her birth was celebrated amongst their family and there was a feast as celebration, her family thanking the loa for bringing another child into their bloodline to continue their legacy. Désirée comes from a family of wealthy individuals, despite the struggles of the past and present they overcame them and went on to become successful business owners, each family mastering in a different field. Her life was one of warmth and love within her family. She would spend time with cousins often, they were homeschooled as many magical children were but instead of a governess they were taught by older family members, aunties, momos, papas, and older cousins. The Lemoine family were known for their strong sense of kinship with each other.
  
  As a member of a pureblood line Désirée would often attend galas and social events with her parents, have play dates with other children of her social standing as well. She was taught the ways of pureblood society, to be on guard as things were competitive between the families. Désirée was taught to be the image of a proper pureblood girl in the presence of strangers, to never show weakness in front of the vultures and speak carefully. She took these lessons to heart and used what she learned as she grew older.
  
  Once it was time for her to attend La Magie Académie as many of her family did before her, she was able to work her way to the top. Though it was no secret that she had an advantage due to her last name. But Désirée worked to prove that she was capable of breaking away, that she didn’t need her last name to advance in life. lineage: Her family is old, their magic linked to the very roots of the earth in a different way from those who practice voodoo or similar magic. Coming from the ships that chained and abused the Irish slaves and indentured servants, just as popular as the boats of slaves from Haiti, Africa, and elsewhere, their magic is ancient. Connected to deities of Celtic Paganism, they channel their magic and practices. A more modern term of their form of practice is Wicca. They are a long line of oracles, prophets, and those who have their third eye or sixth sense open to the wonders of the dead and spirit realm. This makes their communication with their deities incredibly strong for guidance and support through their practice.

Apantomancy - A form of divination and prophet by using animals and nature to predict things. They find symbolism in both animals and nature.

Tarot Reading - By using a deck of tarot cards, Ophelia is able to offer guidance, enlightenment, or predict the future through the cards.

Channeling - Ophelia is clairaudient and clairvoyant in terms of connecting to spirits. After channeling the energy of a spirit, she is able to see and briefly communicate with a spirit or diety for a short period of time. This is an ability she is not able to turn off and can be inconvenient when meeting strangers to immediately channel a loved one who demands to be heard.

Ancient Magic - The Celtic gods and spirits are constantly trying to channel through her. They offer great guidance and wisdom, but also literally channel ancient magic through her blood and veins to do so. It makes her quite knowledgeable and quite revered, even in her own family. She has already been deemed one of the most powerful witches in her family's history even at the age of sixteen. The deities and spirits call to her, and Ophelia answers through her skills of divination and prophet.

Oracle - Ophelia's perception of people, present and future gut feelings never fail her. They come and go, but she always lets intuition guide her. She has never been wrong during the many times she lets her magic consume her into prophesizing.

Sensory Overload - When Ophelia's abilities consume her too much throughout her day, her physical body gets burned out into such mental and physical fatigue that she is unable to tap into her magic anymore until she has rested. It can be very exhausting to her, and troublesome to the two deities who guide her and that she has an alter to worship. Her god is Cernunnos, the Ancient God of fertility, nature, animals, and the underworld. Her goddess is Ceridwen, the Goddess of fertility, rebirth, and knowledge who is associated with cauldrons and divination. She is also the mother of Taliesin, the God of magic, music, writing, wisdom, and the Bards.

Inexperience - Besides the knowledge she is obtaining at the academy, Ophelia does not have an extensive usage of her abilities. Her family kept her hidden for many years, afraid that other covens or creatures might come for her if they knew how powerful of an oracle would start to be growing in their midst. They hid her until they could no longer, and her powers continue to far exceed everyone's expectations even at the academy.

familiar?: A Morpho Buttefly. It tends to sit on her shoulder, or will silently flutter around her when she is busy doing tasks. Ophelia tends to have a tiny bottle of sugared blood on hand for it, to which her butterfly, an embodiment of the god Taliesin who likes to literally hover over her shoulder. Being the son of Ceridwen, one of the two deities she worships, Taliesin is happily tasked with always keeping an immortal eye on her in the form of a brilliant, blue butterfly. He is there to guide her at all times for when Cernunnos and Ceridwen cannot.

  Prosper seems like he ought to be shorter. With his lanky frame and poor, slouched posture, he gives off the feeling of being maybe mid-height, and only standing directlly next to him--or a sharp reminder for him to stand straight--will remind one that he's a bit over six feet tall.   A childhood in the bayou didn't do much for Prosper's sense of fashion. He defaults to worn jeans, t-shirts, and big rubber boots when he's home, and the biggest change at school is mostly that his jeans have yet to be christened by a swamp and he's wearing sneakers. He can be persuaded to dress up (usually at the insistence of an elder family member), but as he doesn't particularly care about his clothing the results generally don't flatter him well, either in fit or style.     The thing about werewolves is that for them to function as a pack they have to be very social and friendly and agreeable, and living in and around people for generations has...domesticated them a bit. Prosper isn't actually a golden retriever shaped like a man, but you would be forgiven for thinking it. Being part of the pack means that getting the benefits of it requires every member old enough to pitch in, and Prosper and his "littermates" (as the pack refers to the various generations) have grown up assisting in everything from doing dishes to feeding chickens to pitching in at boucheries.     Prosper grew up on the bayou outside of New Orleans, in the communal home that the Crescent pack refers to as the Big House. Functionally, the pack is a big, intergenerational family, and Prosper was raised by both his parents as well as several sets of aunts and uncles and numerous grandparents alongside nearly a dozen cousins and siblings. He had a happy and slightly feral childhood, mostly spent roaming through the bayou with minimal supervision in the company of his cousins and siblings. Due to the fact that sending werewolf pups to a public school could only end in disaster, and partially due to the family favoring French as a first language, Prosper and his litter were homeschooled for their first several years.
    
    Raised on the Cajun philosophy of joie de vivre , Prosper was encouraged to explore a number of hobbies as he grew up, often as family activities, like fishing and music. Unlike a lot of other big rowdy families, getting the kids into organized sports was actively discouraged, as no one wanted a werewolf pup to decide football practice was the perfect time to practice hunting on an unsuspecting human teammate. Instead, they did their own disorganized and impromptu games.     The younger sister of pack leader Bastien Comeaux, Coralie handles most of the day-to-day function of the pack house. A small, formidable woman, she has a reputation for a bite worse than her bark, and her bark is certainly nothing to sneeze at. Her husband, Jean-François, is a full foot taller, soft spoken, and deeply agreeable, though not particularly clever.     Lineage: The Comeaux Rougarou came to Louisiana from France via Canada during Le Grand Dérangement of the 1750s. Facing danger as both humans and wolves, they withdrew deep into the bayous for several generations, only coming into contact with other mundane Cajuns and keeping their wolfish nature hidden. It's only within the last few generations that they've started making themselves more known to the wider magical world. Bastien's founding of the Crescent Pack was a firm move to becoming part of the magical world, which not all the rougarou appreciated or agreed with.
