History:
Volkan Bey began his life on Palawa Island under his parents', two retired pirates, care. His father supported the family as a grave keeper, while his mother worked the clinic to provide additional income. In the next span of seven years, three brothers entered Volkan's life, offering their own lively twists into the family's day.
During Volkan's youth, he received an education from the island's school. In school, whenever others asked what the boy wanted to do in his life, he answered, "The Navy." His response was influenced by his father's previous stories about the navy battling pirates. The boy simply longed for an adventurous, daring lifestyle.
Volkan's first happenstance with the Church of Unification started a little after his eighth birthday. On one warm, breezy day, Volkan's parents applied themselves as followers of the faith. His parents encouraged Volkan along with their other sons to become devout followers too. Early reinforcement to join the church shackled Volkan to the faith, guiding him to act with the church's intentions. Piety and a sense of duty started to stir in the boy's soul.
A woman, his parent's friend, entered the family's life briefly. One time, the woman struck rapier amongst the grass, leaving its tip three inches deep into the ground. She required Volkan to pull out the blade in order to check if his desire to become a sea warrior was true. As Volkan struggled to pull the rapier out, the woman ruffled Volkan's long, blonde hair in encouragement. Once he succeeded, the gift, the rapier, became his own. Despite the happiness attained from the rapier, loneliness crept onto his heart, when he learned that his father was to depart for a long venture.
Resuming a tiresome journey to join the Navy, Volkan continued his studies by entering the Navy's academy. Daily training followed by intensive study shaped the boy's life style. Too engrossed with his advancement, he failed to contend to his childhood friends and family. Without a father, Volkan's own motivation was the sole factor in driving him to complete his goals.
When father returned safe and unharmed, Volkan revealed a brief, bright smile. Alas, the family was whole again. Unfortunately, the reunion ended quickly, since the Navy called upon Volkan for his service. The boy succeeded in becoming a sailor through his hard work and determination. When the time came for him to leave, he thanked his family for their love and encouragement.
Four years of military service passed for the young sailor. The monthly letters sent to him along with the copious prayers saved young Volkan from the gloomy horrors at sea. He returned home with a newfound sense of purpose. What followed was a brief romance, a short reunion with family, and church service. Back home, he was distinguished as a hardened sea warrior.
Volkan returned to the seas as a sailor after a three month leave. He worked another four years, but on one of his missions, he met with his parent's old friend for the last time. She, who gave him the rapier, showed a dreadful face. Two additional presents were heard by Volkan's ears and received by Volkan's hand. The pained woman told Volkan the truth about his parents, and she placed a small, emerald gem onto Volkan's right hand. Then, she offered a farewell, before another sailor executed her for her past crimes.
On a day of calm seas and gentle winds, Volkan reunited with his family once more due to another mandatory leave of duty. At home, Volkan questioned his mother, who answered to the best of her ability. Still, he wished to speak with his father, but unfortunately, his father left for another journey before Volkan reappeared at his family's home. Despite the hidden secrets, Volkan still accepted his family. After all, he never felt any ill will towards his family, even after learning the terrible truth.
While he waited for his leave to end, a messenger delivered a letter to Volkan. The letter ordered Volkan to join the savior on a journey of unification. Volkan obliged to the letter's demands, and he set forth to meet with the savior, saving his other unanswered questions for later.
