Info Vocabulary "I'm Uncultured" Guidelines

This may sound silly, but the rules aren't very clear about what words we can and cannot use on the forum. What guidelines can I use to make sure I don't violate the rules?


Guidelines like, "If your mother would be offended," will not be helpful (she is deeply offended by 'sucks' and 'crap.')


Are there categories (biblical, sexual, mild anatomical, etc) that I can use as a general guideline?

Not sure. I curse like a sailor on here and I've never gotten in trouble for it. I've also seen people do the same on multiple occasions.

I'm pretty sure that racial and sexual slurs are both censored. Beyond that, I am not certain. There have been a lot of conversations about the censor, though, so if you go back a few pages in this questions forum, I'm sure you could find more specifics.

I know the gay f word (side hint: british cigarettes, a bundle of sticks) will cause that bug. And I know a while ago a certain part of male anatomy was corrected to pickle because a user I don't remember was freaking out.

The word penis nor dick have ever been censored and we've never censored anything to pickle.

Don't be racist or sexist or offend anyone too much and you'll be fine. Any slur that would break the rules will be censored anyway.

We don't allow few select words that target groups of people, like the C word and the F word for example or the N word.


But I can say fuck, penis, bitch and what ever else comes to mind as an example.

You can't really set a word to be censored in one part of the site but not in another. It's either the whole site, or nothing. That's what I think, anyway.
