Rules

1. All rules of RPNation apply of course.

2. No metagaming, no god-modding (you're all human after all) and no breaking the fourth wall (Ergo your character doesn't know everything you do, they are to be treated as actors in a play).

3. Keep your personal affairs out of the Roleplay, no drama, you get one warning.

4. Be nice to one another, there is no point in being malicious to each other.

5. Be somewhat active, a post every day to every other day, if you can't pull that off let me know or the Roleplay will continue without you.

6. Do NOT post anything other than your character sheet, until your character sheet has been approved by me.

7. Breaking these rules will incur a warning, after the warning it will incur a removal from the RP.

8. Have fun! It's a game of course!

9. If I deem extra rules are necessary I will notify all players and add it here.

I'm very interested in this RP, but I have a few questions.

Would you post first to give the RPers a place to start or would we have to make a place up as we post?

With the mind difficulty thing you got going on here, what would you expect out of a post?

Seriously though. I want to join this RP. I'll make a char, but you'll have to check it thoroughly. It'll be difficult, but I'll manage. This is going to be loads of fun, I can tell!

I just posted the setting so that's done. When your character first wakes up they have very little memory, they have most skills intact and the ability to speak and understanding of language. Anything considered a skill still exists.your character just won't know you have them until they either need to use them or find themselves in a position where it would be used, like a skill in swordplay wouldn't be uncovered until you are attacked with a sword like object in your hands. Any more specific questions shoot em at me.

How does MagiTek magic work? Is it vocal, you point your hand and shoot, or you just channel magic and speak a word? Do you create the spells via poems or single words?

Or do you want me to make it up as I go?

Magic is very much about concentration as well as awakening the right currents of the aetherium. You do have to use vocal sounds, usually very strange sounding words when coming from a human voicebox. However the user must retain total concentration while casting. The caster can do whatever to keep that concentration, some sing; putting the words of power in the song, others tell psuedo stories, some are totally silent until they need to say the words of power. Within those limits it's your call.

Also your fingers must sparkle when you are finished.

Hey. hypothetical question. Well, questions. Bear with me.

What would a aetherium predator (you mentioned in your overview) look like? I imagined magical wolves, or twisted, mutated beings, something along those lines.

If one such being was to get into Stu's compound, what would happen? Alarms, guards, etc?

What would an attack look like? Before, after? What would the victim feel? Pain, loss of memories, emotions?

Okay, that's all for now. I felt like the RP needed a kicker, so why not have a creature invade the compound? (>BD)Tee hee this will be entertaining....

I'm sure you caught it, but the creatures of the aetherium and spiritual world don't have physical forms in out world; which is one reason they are so terrifying. Not restrained to our petty dimensions, these creatures can attack even the most well guarded places with ease. Creatures of the aetherium attack the mind, so people with sensitive minds can sense them, a magical scent if you will, from a distance away. The most powerful they are the easier it is to sense and the farther away you can sense it. When viewed within the aetherium, the apex predators are mostly centered around brains, twisted mockeries of living creatures or being straight from nightmares. Think lovecraftian or like mind flayers from DND. If one was detected the compound would more go into hiding from it, trying to use whatever they can to remain undetected; though Vidas mind is a shinning beacon. And the reason you "wake up" is because you are knocked unconscious with mental pain when one attacks you, also the process of memory stripping being very unpleasant. An attack looks as though someone is being wracked with pain while terrible things happen to their bodies, eyes explode all over their skin, tantacles appear, gaping maws rip open and disgusting fluid drip from the person; to name a few. I hope that answered most if not all, any more questions?

Is it bad that I got a little bit excited when you mentioned DnD, and mind flayers? Kinda one of my favorite monsters...

Yes, that should do. This should be interesting. May I go from the POV of the monster? My plan is to do that for only the battle (If Stu battles it, anyway) and then the creature disappears or flees into the aetherium.

It won't be much of a battle but go ahead. And no that's a great thing. Just remember, these creatures are highly intelligent and difficult to fight for the normal humans and non mentally formidable

Hey, do you want to skip the recuperation and go ahead with this little mission of yours? Vida doesn't know much (or any) magic, but I'm sure she can be scrappy in a fight.

And the couch cough was hilarious. How could I not point it out?

Don't worry, I'll stop teasing. But you gotta admit, it was pretty funny.

I was expecting to skip it, or at least glaze over it since it would have been boring. As for the typo, yeah it was pretty funny I was just teasing you back.

Tech-Heads generally look human, most of their implants being internal or under skin compartments; but some of their implants stick out like robotic arms and robotic body parts etc. It really depends on the individual, lower on the hierarchy Tech-Heads even have mutated skin because they haven't been able to remove it and replace it with robotic bits, higher ranked Tech-Heads look like normal humans but a very robotic underneath or may not want the human casing and look like a cyborg. It's open ended within the confines of being human and having a lot of implants.

Okay,

So I remember something about a bucket. However, I can't remember what that something is. Only that it's a reference to something in our RP. A little help or does Vida have to figure it out by herself?

And are we going to get a new guy? Yea!

It's not something that we actually rped but I was going for filling a bucket with various liquids using spells, since Vida seems displeased by her limited use. Do with that what you will but that's what I was going for, as for a new guy I hope so :) .

Ah, alright. I'll try and do something creative, but we'll see what Vida does first.

She is, very displeased, But she is just a kid. I wonder if she was more of a teenager, or an adult, if she would know more spells and stuff. Hm...

Oh well.

Hey, quick question. Can Sorret eavesdrop on things when he's sleeping? Like in Percy Jackson or Heroes of Olympus, where in their dreams their minds will drift off to some meeting or other scene that's happening or has happened. I assumed that with his impressive mind abilities (Defeating Farihi was no small feat,), that this wouldn't be something out of the realm of possibility. Just wondering.

Are you talking about dream walking? He can read minds while he is asleep and precognition while he is asleep so I guess he could.

Sure, we'll call it dream walking. I knew it had a name, but I didn't know what it was.
