Quintus
Interacting: Shina Mistborn Mistborn Coralhyn Dante Verren Dante Verren Mentioned: Hesphelda TheImmortalDeity TheImmortalDeity Nikiri Violetti Violetti

The neko was pleased to hear the owl liked him and was hoping to find a treat for him later. That thought was soon replaced with wondering where his own animal friend was, hopefully Harmony could find their way back to him safely. He was soon walking along with Coralhyn and Shina towards the tavern and trying to think of some small talk he could make but between his sadly lacking social experience and the bizarre dance their guide was doing he found himself incapable. Instead he strummed some notes on his instrument letting it express his contentment for him. Though in truth even though he was enjoying this walk accompanied by two incredibly kind and cute women it was slightly shadowed by his regret at not letting Coralhyn help him walk. He could have been closer to her and perhaps his injuries wouldn't quite ache as much. Thinking of this let his mind wander towards his thoughts of the two women and the hints of a blush crept onto the edges of his cheeks. Quintus forced his twitching tail to wrap around his waist out of embarrassment at the thought it could expose him.

When the trio were just arriving at the tavern Quintus saw two ladies leaving the tavern and he was stunned almost missing a step. There was Princess Hesphelda hugging a gorgeous neko! Quintus had been force to play at a variety of noble's parties and had seen the princess on numerous occasions allowing him to develop something of a crush on the woman over time. Seeing her here with tears in her eyes jerked at his heart and a stirring in him drove him to find out who that neko occupying her arms was but he didn't move towards them despite these urges to do so. Despite the feelings he was having about them he wanted to stay with his new friends so he moved to open the door for them letting the sounds of music and chaos out into the night again. "Should we find some seats?" Besides the princess probably wouldn't remember me or welcome my intrusion.

Glancing through the door he held open made the musician feel extra relieved that he had moved to let the girls go in first. There are so many humans in there, and is that one naked? Founders help me why did I ask to come here? The infirmary must be calmer than this. Please let Shina lead us away or at least let Coralhyn bring us to a corner of safety. Without realizing it his tail had tightened around him and his body started to stiffen. He turned his head back to the ladies with him just in time to feel a small thump in his chest and see Harmony crawling into his robe until only its head poked out the ladies. The squirrel thing then opened its mouth to let out a nearly perfect copy of Quintus' own voice. "Hello!"

Scathrai Deiyan
Location:
Visian Academy, Infirmary
Interactions: Dante Verren Dante Verren (Jaycee), Violetti Violetti (Saren), SnowJynx SnowJynx (Shiori)

Scath sniffed, made a small rubbing motion with the pillow stuffed in his face, and looked up. He hoped he got rid of all the tears. He glanced at Jaycee, then Saren - and Shiori - before looking back down at Evelynn. His eyes were puffy grey, and still slightly watery. It was Saren's comment that caused him to finally look up: "Scath... "You'll always be our friend, no matter what. So..." Scath looked at Saren, and asked in a wavering voice: "Wh-wh-whuh-.. Really?" He'd seen Jaycee's scowl; but the man wasn't doing anything to actually berate him, nor was he leaving. Scath had no idea what Jaycee was thinking. On the same note, nor did he really know what Shiori was thinking.

...But still. Saren's words gave Scath an ounce of hope that he wouldn't be reviled. He'd always been told to 'look normal. Don't let anyone else know what you are.' And after seeing Anne's reaction, he could see why. But maybe Visian Academy would be different? If there were people like Saren (and hopefully Jaycee...), then maybe he didn't have to worry about maintaining his other appearance? Scath was on the edge. Of course, he didn't have much time to think about it.

Suddenly, someone appeared. Or rather, they came up to him and hugged him. That blindsided Scath. He stiffened, and got even tenser when he felt what was hugging him. And pushing his head inter her... Well. Uh. Y'know. That place. On the upper body. Of course, he had divided thoughts: P-panic! This isn't good! T-too... One side was arguing that this was very much like the 'situation' that happened with Saren. The other half was going: ...This is kind of warm. And this is every guy's dream. ....So warm. On a side note, Scath decided that he liked this kind of warmth. Better than blankets, though Scath didn't know why.

B-but enough! He shouldn't be worried or thinking such thoughts; they were dispelled when the woman told him: "There, there. Steady your soul, love. You don't have to hide in here. Zinnia's space is your space." At that statement, Scath could only say "Mmmmmppphhff.." and relax finally. His arms snaked around for a moment, completing the hug, before he quickly let go. ...Wait, what touched the top of his head? W-was that a kiss? ...E-even mother didn't do that; she showed him lots of love, but she never really touched him physically that much, to be fair...

Then the blanket went around his shoulders, and Zinnia told them, "I will make tea." At that, Scath timidly, sheepishly asked, "C-could you put sugar in mine?" It may have been noted before that Scath had a serious sweet tooth. Then, as activity bustled around them, Zinnia asked them what their names and class were. Scath was instantly on guard for a split second, before coming to the realization that the question was probably innocent. That, and Evelynn's contented humming let him know everything was alright. He relaxed, and that was when Jaycee had to leave; however, any thought of rejection was dispelled by Jaycee's farewell: "I will see you tomorrow, buddy." At that, Scath blushed. In his normal form, blushing was almost the same as regular, except it was slightly more maroon than pink. Still, Scath was finally put at ease. Jaycee didn't think he was a monster. Shiori wasn't repulsed by him. Saren didn't call him horrible... or a pervert, for that matter....

Scath shook his head. He then waved tentavely at Jaycee as he was leaving, before finally answering Zinnia's question: "I'm.. Scathrai Deiyan, and I'm in the Mage class." ...Though, I'm not a very good mage, it seems like. I couldn't even handle a couple of intangible chickens. I couldn't even use my polearm at all.... Pathetic. Laughable. Disgraceful. ...Scath probably would have continued gloomily insulting himself mentally, were it not for the fact that Evelynn decided at that moment to bump the top of her head on his chin, demanding pats.

Calum'ro D. Cristus

Location:
Moonlight Tavern

Mentions: Mistborn Mistborn (Aetil), Silvis Silvis (Chill), @Twisted Tea (Sarasota), Violetti Violetti (Aster)

Interacting With: TheImmortalDeity TheImmortalDeity (Hesphelda & Nekomancer), Violetti Violetti (Nikiri & Charles)

The events that had played out were so sudden and unexpected. Firstly, Aetil— upon attempting to bravely confront the nearly bare man who had just waltzed in —gets pelted by an immaculately thrown snowball that likely originated from a decently distanced ice elemental. Because of the devil's witty remark to Hesphelda, Calum'ro wasn't able to stop a short snicker from escaping before successfully concealing it. Then the beastfolk catches a quick exchange between the man from the land of hands and a blonde human who had just entered with a rather meek High Elf. Calum's eyes narrowed at the blonde man's pretentious response, though his gaze didn't last long enough to be nothing more than a glance. He was glad to see that Charles wasn't afraid to retaliate with abusing a bit of power, though by his actions after, the jackal was not sure if he was serious about charging for the water.

As Nikiri downs the special drink that was handed to her, the lead bartender and the princess exchange a few words with each other, with Hesphelda's words of equity once again forcing a subtle smile to form on the beastfolk's muzzle. Still, he couldn't help but notice that Charles was speaking as if he cared for her safety. Were they also acquainted? Or was he, unknown to Hesphelda, somehow acquainted with royalty? It was a farfetched thought, but it wouldn't be impossible to assume that anyone who had a role in leadership in Visian Academy would not have ties to the Ouzenos name, even if one ran a bar. If Charles was just some random John Doe who was hired, there wouldn't be a reason to attempt to conceal the princess's identity. Maybe he was a personal butler to the royals, or a handy dandy assassin? Or simpler yet, maybe he didn't want to attract a crowd to mob around her. While under the influence of his analytical nature, the boss man approaches Calum'ro with a personalized apology for Aetil's behavior.

"N-nothing to worry about, no harm was done," Calum'ro yielded as the thought of the bartender's potential was still fresh in his mind. "But I will gladly take you on your offer." His tone was forgiving and collected, though following his affirmation— as if her senses had realigned out of her intoxicated state —Nikiri suddenly breaks from Hesphelda's hold, quickly becoming one with the crowd of the bar. As Hesphelda predictably excuses herself in an attempt to catch up to the neko, "Don't worry, I'll be here—" was all he could say before she, too, attempted to phase through the scene of packed creatures.

As much as he wanted to follow, he knew the difference between being a third wheel and giving someone a bit of privacy. The beastfolk stared at one of the tankards in front of him, catching the wavering reflection of colored lights from above on the drink's surface. With a sigh, he was about to lift the container to his lips, but his features become unsettled as he notices a change in the atmosphere of the bar. The tavern's boisterous levels had receded from the direction that the two had traversed, and the collection of beings had dispersed from even deeper still. Calum's nose instinctively twitches as it detects something familiar, though fails to recognize it as blood. The endless sea of odors and alcohol inside was more than enough to disorient his normally sharp nose... But he was able to somehow hone in on the sound of a single voice. A voice, that until now, was as sweet and honest as the subtle smell of lavender imbued on her.

"Hesphelda" was the only word he whispered, his golden eyes mirroring distress as he realized what this could mean. The sound of wood scraping against wood screeches between the hardwood flooring and stool as Calum'ro urgently stands, almost toppling the seat over. A tang of dread in his chest was beginning to swell, his gaze now scanning the bar frantically, while clinging to the hope that she wasn't in danger. Just when he recollects the direction of where her voice originated from, the beastfolk spots the pair retracing their steps back, though now turning towards the exit. First he notices a flustered Hesphelda clutching on to Nikiri like a mother to a toddler, her own eyes leaking tears without even turning to face him. Then he sees Nikiri with a blotch of red on her face and clothing. "Wait, was that blood?" was the first thing he thought as the two pass him by.

Crippled by a weight of confusion, his muzzle parts, but words refuse to form. He raises his arm as if to desperately reach for her, but his journey ends prematurely in a single step forward. "What do I do? What SHOULD I do?" he desperately questions himself, even after they breakout towards the exit. Then, as if beckoned by a life defining portent, he turns towards the direction that they escaped from, now noticing the almost naked man from before. Calum's composed state begins to disintegrate as he stares at the stranger in the center of a vacated space, visible from the still open pathway that the two rushed through. His tail and ears stiffen sharply as he identifies that he was drenched from head to toe in ale, a rudimentary sign of retaliation. Then, the sensation of his hackles raising across his entire back becomes present when he sees the trail of blood dripping from Tac's nose and underwear matching the traces on Nikiri's body.

With clenched fangs, deeply furrowed brows, and a vengeful fire burning in his eyes, Calum'ro's common sense completely departs as he grabs the nearest stool and furiously gaits towards Tac. Maybe it was the part where now, at this point, Hesphelda's words about harassing a fellow non-human were fully pieced together. Perhaps it was the fact that this man caused her— someone who had never occupied such a high standing pedestal in his visage of respect in such a short amount of time —to emotionally break down in front of his very eyes. Or even simply because he abhorred the man's very being, his gross, unique case of peculiarity defiling those around him. His only regret at this point was laughing at Aetil before the devil was able to do something about this greater fiend.

Before he realized it, he was two meters away from Nekomancer. This is the mark where he raises the seat over his back with an uncanny, menacing focus, prepared to swing it with every fiber of his being. Right now, it seemed the strenuous muscles on his arms, shoulders, and back weren't built as a temple for archery; it felt as if they were honed for this very moment, dedicated to cracking someone's head open in a bar fight in the name of redemption. Running on the fumes of anger, he did not put into thought whether Tac had seen him approaching, or whether his future professor was unwillingly prepared to take a piece of furniture to the face. Or, for that matter, if anyone brave enough would intervene between the two. Whatever the case, the stool was only a handful of seconds away from imminent impact.

Distributing the food and helping himself to some, Saren squished her face into his back in a hug. "Thanks, Shiori." He smiled a little.

The moment was short lived as Scath came to. Shiori sighed but let Scath have some sort of melt down. Possibly about them finding out he wasn't human, but what did Shiori care about someone not being human? Neither was he! Did Scath think Shiori, a demon fox who was commonly found as a trickster nusiance himself, would hate him?? He was curious though, and Shiroi could tell Saren was too, but both held back knowing it was not the right time to ask Scath more about himself.
Scath quickly devolved to crying into a pillow in a small bout of dispair- well, until Evelyn returned her master's side and ripped the pillow away. Hopping into his lap, the robotic fox comforted him instead. Saren reassured Scath they were still his friends no matter what. "Wh-wh-whuh, really?" The shadow blubbered. Shiori just stared at him with a deadpan look. "...Are you an idiot? Yes, really." He stated, though he was not sure it really reassured Scath at all.

It was rather sudden, even to Shiori, when a woman with grizzly bear ears appeared and hugged Scath. "There there. Steady your soul, love. You dont have to hide in here. Zinnia's space is your space." She comforted.
Zinnia started making tea, bustling around the infirmary in a manner that just confirmed to Shiori that Zinnia was the academy nurse. She asked everyone to state their name and class. Jaycee quickly said his and bid them goodbye before he left, seeming distracted by his thoughts a bit.
Shiori turned his attention back to the bear-eared woman. "...Shiori, Mage Class and Familiar of Saren Voltus.." he murmured, looking to the side instead of at anyone.

A smile nearly met the fiends lips as he thought of getting his hands on Nekomancer, nearly. He wouldn’t be able to do much without having his strength sapped or reduced in whatever way the dark arts teacher wanted, but the thought of it was nice enough. At least it was until a clump of ice and snow slammed itself into his face. The impact wasn’t nearly as bad as it had looked, and with his natural resilience against the elements the possibility painful experience was reduced to a stinging annoyance. He took a moment to wipe away what was left of Chills ‘special butterfly greeting’, looking over at the professor with a scowl that all but said really? It was about then that the crowd surged around them, pushing Aetil to the side as he momentarily lost sight of the one he had set out after.

Lucky for the fiend he had been spared the sight of Tac’s stolen kiss, only bearing witness to the glorious aftermath that came about as Hesphelda helped the seemingly sobered up Nikiri from the tavern. In the euphoric/stunned/whateverthefuck state Nekomancer had been left in after the pairs exit it was easy enough for Aetil to get up to and ahold of him, firmly placing a hand on the mans shoulder. You need to leave. Now.” He put as much emphasis into his words as possible, attention quickly shifting as he spotted the rapidly and aggressively approaching Jackal. He stared the man dead in the face, holding a now protective stance between Nekomancer and Calum. A look of ‘I fucking dare you’ was plastered on his face as his lips nearly curled into a snarl. If he could Aetil was planning on getting Nekomancer out and as far away from the chaos the fool had just created as possible. If Calum kept pushing forwards, he was ready for a good old-fashion barroom blitz.

There was just no reason that a cat should be here, and Winston could not imagine how a cat got here. Was the cat some sort of pest control? Winston imagined there would be a better way to get rid of rats, using wards or magic. It could have been a person with a shapeshifting power, but why did it get shocked? Unless there was some way for a student to be turned into a cat. But that was ridiculous. The odds of a student in the right place, at the right time, getting turned into a cat was very low. But there was no other explanation that Winston could think of.

After a few long moments, Winston came up with an experiment. He gently put Washington in his pocket and grabbed the potion. Coming closer to the cat, he popped the cork and let the steam spread into the air, keeping a close eye on the cat in particular.

Shina

Interacting: Quintus, Coralhyn
Silvis Silvis Dante Verren Dante Verren

Shina wasn’t immediately convinced with Coralhyn’s response at first, but the sight of her seemingly endless supply of teeth was, well, rather convincing for the harpy. Not to mention with the sight of her self-made jewelry, she had already forgotten her initial concern. Maybe I could do something like that with my extra feathers too! “Right, uhm, sure...! Lead the way!” She wasn’t going to keep up flying for long, soon landing and walking alongside these new friends of hers. There wasn’t enough energy left in her to keep up with the tritons fervent pace, sticking near Quintus and holding in giggles as Coralhyn started to do laps around them. Her familiar nestled in closer to Quintus during the walk, enjoying his newfound perch. These are good people, I’m glad I met them first. For her first impression of other students they were very nice, and Shina could only hope the rest of the student body would be like them.

That hope she had for the rest of the student body certainly waned as they passed a human and non-human pair rapidly exiting the bar, with the rowdy and packed crowd before them doing little to ease her mind. The harpy moved a bit closer to Quintus, the atmosphere of the tavern feeling even more confined with how many people were already inside. “A-aha, wow... it sure looks busy in there. Maybe we could... get something to go?” Even as she said the words she felt bad for saying anything, it was a bit of a long-shot and Coralyhn had seemed so excited to take them there... She could at least give it a shot before turning tail. “Well, after a drink or two that is...” Her attention focused back on Quintus however, or rather on the new creature that had joined them and it’s surprising mimicry of the nekos voice. “Oh hello there!”

Coralhyn was happy that her new friends were following her. Although they did walk slow it felt good to be able to finally help out. That feeling was unfortunately short lived. As they neared the tavern two figures came into sight, both of them women. One was a human women and the other was another part cat lady, a neko was the name if Coralhyn remembered correctly. Even though emotions were a thing she was bad at reading, she was a fighter and as a fighter she was good at reading body language. Seeing how Quintus stiffened up in almost a stunned manner and his previous condition that he was found in, Coralhyn took the presence of these two as a threat. Placing herself between the two strangers and her friends Coralhyn eyed the two women like a cautious hunter eyeing their prey. If either of the two women followed the intense gaze back to it's source they would see the Triton baring her dagger like teeth at them, daring them to try and harm her friend.

When the tavern door opened Coralhyn's attention was drawn away from the two women. Instead the sweet smell of fresh blood cut it's way through the almost overpowering smells of alcohol and sweat to reach Coralhyn's nose. Turning quickly she moved past Quintus and Shina, careful enough to not bump into them, but fast enough that she could get a grasp of the situation. Her eyes and nose hungrily scanned the tavern, part of her searching for any source of the potential danger to her friends, and the other part looking for the source of her next meal. Finally she found the source of her favorite smell. A nearly fully naked man was bleeding like a fountain out of his nose while her good fried Calum'ro was about to crack a devilish looking man over the head with a stool. Not able to hold back she let loose a cheer for her first friend here "GO CALUM'RO! WHACK HIM GOOD!" it was painfully obvious she was missing context to what was going on here.

Shina's voice snapped Coralhyn out of her concentration. Turning to look over at her two companions, one seemed exhausted and the other beaten to shit. Even though this place seemed like a rather lively and fun place it probably wasn't the best for these two at this moment. She became visibly disappointed at the fact that the tavern turned into a bust, before turning too leave. "No it is best if we leave. Like the captain says their is no better way to pass the time on land then drunken fights, but that is not what Quintus needs." she said in a bit of a dispirited voice. Just like the waves of the ocean she called home, her demeanor shifted rather quickly. The appearance of the funny blue creature caused Coralhyn to giggle a bit. Wanting a closer look she leaned down and closer to Quintus so she could get a better look at the blue fuzzball sticking out of his shirt. "Hello there little one." Though she could only see it's head she could see it's blue fur. A nice color that reminded her of home. "Aren't you a cute little creature." She said with a toothy smile at the talking squirrel. Raising her head a bit to look Quintus in the eyes "Do they have a name" she said leaning in a bit closer to the creature.

Arvios Arvios

Katarns goofy expression saddened for a moment, despite his new drinking buddy's friendly demeanor. "Sh-she left me..." He slurred. "I wa-" he broke down into a coughing fit, alcohol spraying from his nose. He recovered, shaking his head. "I was a... exterminator, yeah." He laughed, recovering his jolly disposition as he took another swig from his tankard. "An exterminator, that's what I was! But no, she couldn't handle my line of work! Said, sa-said that it was 'too dangerous' and 'morally abhorrent.'" He was scowling now. "She didn't know what it was like! Always reading 'ose damn books..., if I wanted a lecture, I would have gotten a live in priest! Not a wife!" His expression turned again to one of sadness. "I always tried to convince her to p-pick up the blade, maybe if..." He shook his head and smiled. "Less talk abou-about somethin' happy, eh?"

Jaycee Cormac
Location: Hallway's outside Kitchen
Interactions: N/A

Having excused himself from the nurses office, Jaycee made his way back to the hallways just outside of the kitchen. Here his worst fears were realized. They really had made quite the mess in this hallway. Splotches of miasma, soot, ash, and even a tiny amount of blood decorated the once perfectly clean hallway. Sighing heavily he poked his head back into the kitchen to see if anyone was there. Thankfully no one was so that gave him enough time to get too work. Rolling up his sleeves Jaycee began to dig around until he found some sort of bucket with water in it and along with some rags. He brought them out into the hallway and set them down.

Getting down onto his knees Jaycee began to scrub away at the mess. The mind numbing cleaning gave him time to reflect on the days events. First there was the fight this morning. He had acted recklessly and needed to be bailed out by his new friend. He knew he had done the right thing, but there had to have been a better way of doing it. Next there was the stealing food from the kitchen. That clearly wasn't meant for them based on the magic chickens. Cleaning up this mess wasn't enough, he would have to apologize to the cook and ask for there forgiveness. From what he had seen at this school just that alone wouldn't be enough. Maybe they would let him help around the kitchen or as a cleaner or something. If they did then he wouldn't feel guilty anymore and it would keep him away from that hell of detention. Lastly there was the events around Scath. Pretending to be a human was illegal and could land him in real trouble, so why did he still try to do it? For that matter why did the school let him?

Sitting up straight on his knees he stretched his sore muscles and looked around. He still had a lot of work to do. Grabbing the supplies he moved on to the rest of the mess. Cleaning away as fast and as effectively as he could.
