Katarn Ordai

Location: Moonlight Tavern

Interacting: Arvios Arvios TheImmortalDeity TheImmortalDeity

Mentioned: Lo Mayn Lo Mayn

Katarn whistled a merry tune as he entered the tavern, the familiar din of yelling, crass words and drunken laughter emanating from within. It was enough to make him smile.

Until he got a look at what was happening inside.

It seems that one of their professors, the creepy one, had stripped down and was proudly standing in the middle of the tavern, plain as day.

Nope. Attempted interrogation could wait. He made a mental note to ask his handler about that particular brand of crazy later.

Right now, he needed a drink.

He squeezed past a particularly tall fellow wearing what seemed to be the Nekomancers clothes. He caught a whiff of body odor and sweat from the countless unidentifiable stains covering the thing as he squeezed pass. The smell was nearly as bad as the one emanating from the disgusting monsters that crowded this place.

As he maneuvered his way through the crowd of patrons, trying not to lose his temper, he spotted a familiar face at the bar. Oh well. 'Devil you know' as they say. Maybe he'd be able to wring some information out of him. He seemed easily manipulated. A few friendly chats here, a sympathetic ear, Katarn knew the type.

He grabbed two tankards of beer from a pair of what seemed to be passed out lizard people, plopping one in front of Arvios as he pulled up a stool next to him.

"My confidence in the staff here grows ever higher." Katarn said drily, motioning towards the Nekomancer, resisting the urge to vomit at being so close to a non-human.

Coralhyn Reefmath
Location: Hallway
Interactions: Shina/Bobo ( Mistborn Mistborn ) Quintius ( Silvis Silvis )

There it was, the aching in her teeth. Admittedly it had been a while since Coralhyn had smelled fresh blood, the last time was by a butchery she passed on the way to the academy, but even then she didn't get close to the source. It wasn't too bad while the man who introduced himself as Quintus was just sitting there. When the bird lady started to expose more of the wounds to the fresh air before banding them it gave Coralhyn a better view, and a stronger smell in the air. Unknowingly she began to speed up her circling. Shaking her head she snapped herself back into reality, banishing the thoughts of the surface foods she had learned was roasted chicken and alley cat. Coralyhn didn't know that the second one was not actually a common food, she just overhead someone joking about eating a cat once and thought they were serious. Since plan A wasn't working, she stopped forcibly stopped herself in her tracks and turned away from the two while the bird lady finished up banding Quintus. Luckily her uncle had taught her a super secret trick to calm herself down if she started getting too worked up at the wrong time.

Coralhyn barely heard Shina introduce herself and her familiar. The Triton's focus was on her teeth. Reaching up to her mouth, she found the tooth that was aching the most, one of ones in the front row on the side of her mouth. Very carefully she grabbed onto the dagger like tooth and yanked with all her might. There was a flash of pain in both her mouth and her finger but soon the pain was replaced by the sweet tasting trickle of blood that came from her gum. Looking down in her hand she saw the tooth resting in her palm, another clean pull!. She remembered practicing this when she was little, and how she would often either brake the tooth completely or slice open her hand in the process. With a grin she held up the tooth in front of her face to admire it for a second. Satisfied with her handiwork she pocketed the tooth, she would use that to make another necklace or bracelet later.

Turning back to the two she gave something that resembled a sailor's salute. "Deckhand Coralhyn at your service! It is a pleasure to meet you my fellow crew mates!" she once again full of life. Turning first to Shina "Thank you for helping him Shina" then too Quintus " Do you need help walking to the tavern or can you walk okay? If you need help then I will lend you a hand. I can't let the rest of the crew do all the work or the captain will get mad at me". She gave Quintus what she believed to be a reassuring smile as she waited to see what his answer would be.

Calum'ro D. Cristus

Location:
Moonlight Tavern

Mentions: Violetti Violetti (Asad)

Interacting With: Mistborn Mistborn (Aetil) TheImmortalDeity TheImmortalDeity (Hesphelda) Violetti Violetti (Nikiri)

Calum's expression of relief regarding Hesphelda's lack of attention was short-lived. The sensation of a whole tankard's worth of cold water spilling over his lap immediately produces a jolt of a reaction; it didn’t help that his timing of putting distance between himself and the table wasn’t as quick as he would have liked (as his clothing excelled at keeping the elements out), so what felt like a small puddle’s worth of water had easily collected in the baggy space between his thighs. As if the chilled refreshment had frozen his astonished features, Calum simply stares from the darkened stain that was very slowly soaking through his pants, to the demon donning the black apron. He raises both arms with outwardly turned hands at Aetil, though says nothing, almost as if the silence between him and the bartender’s hollow apology (and obvious act) would speak louder than any form of complaint ever would.

Internally, Calum knew that the demon’s requital act was reasonable. He probably would have done the same if he was in his shoes, though would have opted to add something unmentionable to the sitting ale instead of rushing for the more instant gratification of a spilled drink. After all, revenge, to those patient enough, was a dish best served cold, even if it was never really accounted for. It was common knowledge that demons were capable of much more grievous methods of torment, and to this end, the beastfolk was at the very least thankful that he was spared in that regard. Still, even admitting this, his mood wasn't lifted from the sour state that it was in. It didn’t help that he overheard a certain ox demon’s bet about his current conflict, so with a great amount of composure, he decided to treat the spilled water like spilled milk.

”It’s fine,” Calum’ro grumbled with a shake of his head, clearly preferring to avoid stirring any further conflict. Before he’s able to stand so as to stream the collected water off from him, he feels the warmth of someone next to him— someone who was very close to his leg. And then, he feels the lapping, as if something was repeatedly dipping itself on the miniature pool over his pants. It wasn’t until his arm brushed against a pointed ear that Calum gazes down, spotting Nikiri in the middle of her drunken bout. Once he registers what she was doing, he immediately reacts quite stupidly at the fact that someone had penetrated his bubble so deeply, and so quickly without his notice. The jackal throws both arms away from her as if they were about to graze a sickly person with the plague, while at the same time with his eyes locked on Nikiri, he throws his snout out like a toddler refusing to be spoon fed. She soon requests more water; Calum’ro, his mind in a state of disarray, could not even properly react to whatever was playing out beneath him.

After a few moment’s worth of lag, the beastfolk realizes that the princess had asked him something, though her words don’t fully sink in as his brain finishes rebooting. ”Y-Yes,” he mutters obtusely, unsure of what was asked. ”Though… I think she might be in more need of help. Can we get some extra water?” he asks the demon, though this time patiently like Hesphelda before. Once he does so, now more composed, he turns to the princess again.

”I think maybe she needs to... you know, let it all out? That might be the quickest solution to helping her, though it should probably be done in the girl's powder room to have a bit more privacy." Calum'ro eyes the neko curiously, wondering how the two were apparently acquainted with each other, and just how much of a good time she must have had to become this far gone. He now recalls that he had come here to drink, but within the short time that he had been here, all he managed to do was have a streak of unlucky events pile up on his to-do list. He knew it would be rude to start now, so until further notice, his focus would have to be in helping this fellow non-human out. Besides, who knew what sort of creeps were out there who would target such a defenseless creature?

Cindra
Interacting: Dren Violetti Violetti Mentioned: Rosalina TheImmortalDeity TheImmortalDeity

When Dren bowed to her she had to resist shaking her head. They have the same position in the school and one should only bow to someone who is their better but for some reason he didn't seem to understand that. Cindra knew on some level that it was likely caused by years of living in a society that told him humans were better and her beating on him probably didn't help, but she again pushed the thought from her head. This man could fight her on equal terms and so she expected him to live up to her standards regardless of how ridiculous that was. As she took in the sight of him and ignored his nonsense about letting guards patrol she found three points of interest to focus on, first he seemed slightly distressed, second the door was locked, and third he seemed to smell of sweat. A realization was dawning on her even as he suggested they go to the tavern and she was sure she knew what was going on.

"The tavern sounds like a fine idea. We can go discipline some kids and get some drinks at the same time." Cindra moved to throw an arm over her comrades shoulders so she could drag him to the tavern. "Maybe I can coach you on some endurance exercises before we have a late spar." As a soldier she'd found ways to blow off steam before and knew the importance of endurance for such things. If he was so bad they threw him out then as his sparring partner Cindra felt a responsibility to send him back ready to exhaust them. Dren had a way of always improving her mood and clearing her thoughts, rather it was by sparring, training, fighting, or even just intimidating him she would always fell better. This time was no exception, the conflicting thoughts and moods all seemed to converge and agree on the course of action to help him with his stamina issue. No, there was one thought that didn't quite agree. He always lasts well enough when sparring with me, how did that little bear exhaust him as much as a day of training?

♕ Interacting: Erika & Kaida AI10100 AI10100 , Sexy cloak man Heterological Heterological
    ♕ Mentioning: N/A

Well, this is fucking fabulous. Everfever padded through the hallway in mild disgust. How could he, a pristine prince, have been morphed into something so lowly? There was no telling how long this enchantment might last with the lack of information on Tac's use of dark arts. Or worse, if there were any more horrendous side effects. Cat or human, Everfever had to make it to the admiral's office. He hated to admit it, but his senses were keener as a cat.

He may have been astute enough to sense the danger approaching, but not enough to dodge it. A shadow fox encircled Everfever with intensity as if he were prey. Being a man to notice the finer details of life, Everfever immediately recognized the creature as Erika's familiar. Had there been a doubt, it would have been squashed by Erika's appearance moments later.

There was a plethora of routes Everfever could take in this situation. Physical attacks would phase through them both, and attempting a mad dash would inevitably result in defeat. If he managed to succeed in escaping, there was a considerable chance the two might follow. His entire mission would crumble. If he engaged in magical combat, his unique tickling magic would be a dead giveaway. It was symbolic of Xevoria's militia. Tch.

Hmm. Perhaps I can still make use of this precarious scenario I've found myself in.
Everfever closed in on the fox before him, playfully swatting at its tail, only to miss each time. As Everfever moved, he faked a limp, suspending his right hind leg. "Nyaa~" Everfever mewed enthusiastically to greet Erika. His pupils widened as he gazed up at her. Just as he was working his feline charm, a cloaked man appeared from a distance.

If I play this right, they should believe me to be a victim. Forcing his mana inward, Everfever used his magical abilities to shock himself. A small spark rippled around him, and he let out a painful squeak as he fell to the ground and convulsed. Of course, nobody knew his shocks were not that harmful. With the appropriate amount of theatrical exposure, he could portray it otherwise. As the man officially made himself known, Everfever struggled to rise, hissing at him and fluffing up fearfully. Staggering closer to Erika and her familiar, he appeared to distance himself from the man, as if he were the issue at hand. If he could successfully pin them against each other, there could be an interesting show. He may even learn more about this ghost woman.

To Evan's surprise, he hears a familiar voice from someone that had just sat next to him. With a curious expression, he turns, his eyes widening with glee once he recognizes the form of Katarn. At this point, this was the one human he could probably label as a friend in the academy, considering how he attempted to diffuse, and to some extent, stand up to whoever intruded in a confrontation that they were not involved in. In truth, he was hoping to meet up with him at some point to properly acquaint himself with the man, and maybe talk him into having a few sparring rounds. But for it to happen so soon? The beastfolk would have never expected for fate to treat him so kindly.

"Oh, it's you! Katarn, right?" the beastfolk asks jubilantly as he raises the tankard in the air as if to say "cheers". After a hasty swallow, he smacks his lips with a twisted face at the odd texture and flat flavor, almost swearing that it tasted like it was sitting for a while. Upon putting the tankard down, he eyes the man that his friend was gesturing towards. With a held back laugh, Evan was able to spot him from their position easily, as he was completely bare skinned, save for his undergarments and face mask. Evan's stare narrows with his focus, his smile completely shrinking into a frown as a realization started to sink in. With a drive to confirm this revelation, he reaches towards his pocketbook and spots the picture of his buddy, the leopard's gaze darting from the photo to the pale being before him, drawing comparisons like a naturalist during a bird watching hike.

"No way…" were the only words that he could muster, though in a surprising turn of events, his look of concern cracks into a grin. His buddy was not only treating the bar like a tropical beach, but he also ended up being a professor? He didn’t recall seeing him with the other teachers during the opening ceremony… But more importantly, was he trying to pick up some chicks at the bar by putting himself at full display for all to see? Was that even allowed as a member of the faculty?

“He’s the one that I was searching for, earlier. That’s my buddy!” Evan rejoiced at Katarn with a strong elbow jab to his arm. While he was glad that he had found Tac, it was probably for the best to leave him to his own ventures, or at the very least to observe him for the moment. It would be rude of him to interrupt his peacocking display, but felt that he should somehow support him without interfering.

”We should drink to Tac’s boldness, and to wish him luck. Bartender!” he beckoned Charles, this time more energetically. “Two drinks over this way, and don’t stop them coming!” Evan downed the little that remained from his tankard, eager to get the buzz going. But his blissful state didn't last very long.

The beastfolk spies the familiar shape of Sarasota stride into the bar, alongside a non-human that looked oddly familiar. With an audible groan, his expression quickly relaxes from that of joy to one on the brink of provocation. If that guy so much as starts shit... was all he could think currently, and to a certain degree, was something that he wanted for him to act upon. Although it wasn't by any means official, he had no intentions of backing down from Avis' proposal of defending non-humans who couldn't stand up for themselves. Still, with professors in the immediate vicinity, it might not be a good idea to start another fight... At least before, there would not have been collateral damage like there would be in a bar scuffle. With all these thoughts running around his mind like headless chickens, Evan instead rescinds to observing between his buddy, and to whoever Sarasota might interact with.

The extra pairs of eyes on his conversation didn’t go unnoticed to the fiend, and he was only partially disappointed the jackal had decided to back down before anything really happened. Would’ve livened up the place at least. Oh well, maybe that’ll keep most of the rest from doing the same. The satisfaction that came with Calum’ro’s face was short lived, especially as his attention was brought to the more pressing issue in the room; the lavender haired Neko who decided Calum’ro was her new water dish. Luckily enough for him Hesphelda was quick to act, but now he had something else to keep an eye on. At this point Aetil wouldn’t be surprised if the entire academies population ended up in the tavern by the end of the night, as it certainly seemed like it would with humans and non continuing to pile on into the bar. This is going to be a long night for sure. The fiend let out another sigh, passing a fresh tankard of water along with an empty one to the pair of women in front of him. “In case she doesn’t make it that far, try not to make me clean up too much cat puke your highness. He put emphasis on the end of his statement with a knowing grin, the humans identity finally clicking into place. How did it take me that long recognize a member of the royal family?

Maybe the alcohol was finally getting to him, maybe the chaos of the day had been keeping him distracted. In either case, there were a group of mortal faces that every devil had ingrained into their heads before they were allowed on any expeditions. The Ouzenos family certainly held a prominent position in that list. It was mostly on the off-chance they happened to come across them and could to report back to something in a higher station, but Aetil was in an... interesting situation. Perhaps he’d be able to interact directly at some point. Given that she was at least attempting to hold some conversation with non-humans gave the option some merit.

His thoughts on that prospect were cut short however as he glanced across the bar, his eyes “greeted” with an indignant flash of pasty white skin flanked by someone in a set of familiar black robes. It took a solid ten seconds for Aetil to fully process what he was seeing, standing speechless with his hands down on the bar top. He did not just. HE DID NOT... I’m gonna kill him, first chance I get that madman is deader than the cat-folk he wants to resurrect. The fiend stood up a bit straighter at the sight, setting down his cleaning rag as his voice cut through the steady din surrounding the bar. “Oh HELL no. Aye! No shirt. No service. Out. NOW!” He had already started making his way around the bar when he had spotted the man, now actively approaching and preparing himself to chase someone in their skivvies around a crowded tavern.

Seeing it more as a playtime than hunting, Kaida was even more enthusiastic as he leaped around the tabby cat. Erika rolled her eyes - the fox was usually calm and collected and never went out of his way to get into trouble. She guessed the fact that the cat was exuding too much magical energy for a non-familiar is what excited Kaida. She had to admit, she was rather excited to see what this cat could offer. He looked friendly too and Erika was glad he didn't run away when Kaida charged at him. Her familiar might never hurt anything if she didn't give Kaida the signal, but he was still larger and more intimidating than the usual foxes. Maybe this tabby was used to living around dangerous creatures.

Erika crouched down as the cat began to make his way to her, with a limp. She held out her hand, silently calling out to it. If it was injured, then it would be ideal to take it somewhere safe. She idly wondered if the infirmary accepted such animal patients. It was then that another had appeared and she gave him a glance. "Good evening." She greeted kindly before turning back to the cat. "My familiar seems to have taken a liking to this cat-" Her eyes widened as electricity crackled around the cat and shocked it - putting it down. "Oh my..." She mumbled to herself as it staggered closer to her, seemingly aggravated by the arrival of the unknown man.

Erika moved forward and waved Kaida off and the fox finally obeyed, circling around Erika and rubbing against her. She moved to pick up the cat slowly, in case it gets too startled and scratch her. Even if it wouldn't hurt too much, she'd rather not run the risk of getting some magical disease from the cat. She had her eyebrows furrowed as she spoke once more. "Was that you?" She questioned the man who had just arrived. Her tone was non-confrontational, more curious than anything. "Quite cruel to shock an injured kitten hm?" She suddenly let out an amused chuckle. Erika couldn't quite judge anyone for using their magic to test things out - even in the most unsuspecting subjects. Though a more controlled environment would have been more ideal if this was an experiment.

Winston looked at the cat more closely. It had fallen on the ground from some kind of electrical shock, and it fluffed itself up at his appearance. The woman turned and asked, "Was that you?"

"Quite cruel to shock an injured kitten hm?"

Her tone wasn't accusing, so he answered in an equally neutral tone. "It was not me. I don't have electrical powers."

Putting his attention back on the cat, it widened the distance between them, and he saw that it had a limp. That was fixable; he had his belt. But the closer problem at hand: why was the tabby cat afraid of him?

He hadn't met a tabby cat in the near future, and Winston had certainly never treated any animal with cruelty. The cat wasn't just naturally scared of everything, since it was only afraid of him. That led to the possibility that some other person had treated the cat badly, and that person was wearing the same sort of clothing as Winston or had the same sounding voice. The clothing he had on wasn't particularly unique, so that was probably the most likely option.

Another thought occurred to him as Winston grabbed a bottle from his belt filled with white steam. How had the cat gotten there in the first place? It was in Visian Academy. Either the cat had, for some reason, decided to wander in here, or it was supposed to be here, for one reason or another. Winston furrowed his brow, thinking.

Saren Voltus
"The Diva"

⟡ Location: Hallway, then Infirmary
⟡ Interacting: Shiori SnowJynx SnowJynx , Jaycee Dante Verren Dante Verren , and Scath&Evelynn darkborn darkborn
⟡ Mentioning: N/A

Shiori's flames increased visibility within the hallway, much to Saren's advantage. She dodged the attempted pecks from the chickens in a smooth manner. It became apparent that aerobatics were second nature to the woman, as she maneuvered as gracefully as the air she controlled. That was until a thunderclap sounded and echoed off the walls.

With Jaycee having shattered her rhythm, a spectral chicken managed to sneak in a scratch across her forehead. Dammit. Master would have scolded me for allowing my concentration to break so easily. Years prior, Saren trained under a martial arts specialist in the desert overseas. It was where she first met Shiori swindling the merchants in town. The nostalgic memory caused Saren's lips to curl into a smile. Turning to the kitsune, she announced in a steely tone, "Let's end this."

Air began to swirl around the woman and fluttered her kimono. It was time for a COMBO ATTACK: Flaming Vortex of Hell!!

"HYAAAA!!!" Twirling her fans in a circular motion, Saren generated a tornado-like structure. She waited for Shiori to mix his flames around the vortex, forming a makeshift flamethrower. The wind increased the accuracy and intensity of the fire, mowing down the last of their enemies. The chickens resurfacing melted down to fog. Were there any stragglers, Saren was positive Evelynn would eliminate them.

The hallway grew quiet as the attack subsided. Panting heavily, Saren slid to the ground, her body shaking ever so slightly. "Ah, that one always drains me. Haven't fought like that in a long time." Her magical abilities would be out of commission for the next day or two. With the spectral beings' disappearance, the hallway lit up once more, allowing Saren to investigate her peers thoroughly. After overlooking Shiori, she shifted to Jaycee. Her eyes lit up with a bit of concern before being replaced with frustration. "Jay, you're bleeding! What did you do, let them peck you to dea- OH, MY GOD, SCATH??!" A shocked gasp escaped her lips before her hands covered her mouth. The poor man lay lifeless on the ground a few feet away.

Crawling over to him, she leaned down to press her cheek against his chest. Despite it feeling colder than usual, Scath was still breathing. Relief flooded over Saren as she whispered, "I wasn't too harsh, was I?"
Frowning, she desperately looked for anything around to help her friend. After all, if he died, who was going to buy her a new kimono? "Ah! The infirmary isn't far from the cafeteria. It's in the opposite direction of the tavern, but this is more important now. Shiori, gather up anyone's loose chicken meat and lend me your arm. My body feels like pins and needles after using that much energy. Jay, mind carrying our heap of shadows here?"

--------

The trek to the infirmary was short-lived but grievous. Saren's kimono was bloodied and frayed at the edges. I couldn't show up to the party like this, anyway. I'd be a laughingstock. Once inside, the body impressions on the cots alluded to once holding bodies, yet none currently remained. Saren called out for a nurse that had long since abandoned her post. How convenient, Saren thought bitterly. A nearby open window invited in the moonlight and a steady breeze. She permitted the fresh air to kiss her cheek, before turning her back to the wind to watch Jaycee successfully carry Scath in.

Her eyes settled on his movements for a few seconds before she decided to snag a random bottle from Zinnia's herbal stash. It was a small wooden vile with a red ribbon garnish. Conjuring up her best acting, Saren mused, "Tears of Mount Everett. Its water so crisp, it's said to waken those in the deepest of comas. If Scath has a concussion, we cannot allow him to slumber." She handed the vile up to Jaycee, gazing at him expectantly. "As his buddy, I trust that you'll take responsibility and deliver it? He can't swallow it himself in this state."

Whether or not Jaycee questioned her knowledge, he didn't make it visible. Hesitation didn't linger long, as he snatched the medication from her with determination in the next heartbeat. Saren's eyes widened at his immediate decision-making. Before he could even remove the stopper, she reached out to grab his wrist. "That's enough." Locking ger gaze with his, she spoke softly, "Sorry, I tricked you. I don't know what's in that bottle. But now, I do know you can be trusted. There are few humans in this land with pure intentions toward nonhumans." Louder, she mentioned, "Don't be too mad at me, okay? Once you stand up for the outcasts, you become one of them. This world we live in doesn't take kindly to humans like us. If you aren't careful, you could end up dead."

Her words hinted toward a darker past, but she wouldn't be disclosing any information tonight. Shaking away her thoughts, she started removing Scath's outer coat. "I might not know much about medicine, but we can do basic first aid until the nurse gets back, right? We should make sure there aren't hidden injuries." Her hands gripped Scath's tunic, the last piece of apparel that would expose his bare skin. She was ready to rip that shit off. Only she didn't. Her motions were stagnant, and her hands trembled. Huh? What's making me so nervous? Is it because he's unconscious?

Stepping away from the man, she motioned for Jaycee to take over. "You should do this. A-And try to wake him up for real. Slap his face or pour some water or something. I'll find bandages and alcohol for your wounds as well."
Saren made an effort to briskly turn on her heel when she stumbled and fell forward. "Guess my body is still weak after using so much energy." Pathetic. I need to get tougher, or I'll lose someone else. She hated to be seen in such a state.

Jaycee Cormac
Location: Infirmary
Interactions: Saren ( Violetti Violetti ) Shiori ( SnowJynx SnowJynx ) Scathrai/Evelyn ( darkborn darkborn )

All Jaycee could do was watch as Scath went spinning past him, thrown through the air by Saren. He met the other man's eyes as he sailed past impacting into the wall with a loud noise that even made Jaycee wince. He was about to race to his friends side when he caught a glimpse of the trusty Evelyn rushing to her masters aid. With her there Scath would be safe at the very least. This let Jaycee turn his attention to a overzealous chicken who started to peck the back of his leg while his attention was focused on Scath. That chicken earned itself a swift thunderclap into oblivion. Seriously annoyed and now very worried about his companions he picked up the rate that he was using thunderclap. Unfortunately that much force going on and off started to take it's toll on his own wounds, some of them opening up further from the constant shock waves right next to them, and the noise from the constant booms seemed to through Saren out of her groove.

The fight had a very climatic end. Jaycee got to witness something special, a flaming tornado combo from Saren and Shiori made some nice and crispy ghost chickens. Shouting out an attack name probably would have made the moment even more theatrical, but it seemed like no one was in the mood for theater. At the end of it all, Jaycee was left leaning forward, hands on his knees, head down, and breathing heavily. They were just spectral chickens but it took this much out of him? How was he going to survive here? He would need to get faster, not just for his sisters sake, but for his own as well.

Jaycee only lifted his head when Saren began to talk to him. It was probably a good thing her question was cut short, because she probably wouldn't have liked the answer. However, her exclamation filled him with a bit of panic as he looked over at where he knew Scath was. His eyes widened a bit at the sight, Where Scath had been was now something else, something different. The shadowy form had caught him completely off guard and he didn't fully know what to think yet, but that didn't matter. Pulling up what energy he still had in him and tapping into that sweet sweet adrenaline, Jaycee made his way over to his unconscious friend and pulled him up into a very clumsy princess carry. Following Saren and Shiori he would head to the infirmary as fast as he could.

The trek to the infirmary although a short one felt like it lasted days. Now that Scath was in his arms he could very clearly tell the man wasn't human. His body was colder then any other body he had ever touched and his hair seemed to be made of shadow. There were a dozens things running through Jaycee's mind on that rush to the infirmary. Thoughts of the worst case scenario, questions he wanted to ask, old memories resurfacing, and many more. His usual tactic of just not thinking didn't work this time and the thoughts would still haunt him until they finally arrived. As he laid his friend down in the closest bed he realized just how shitty their luck was, the nurse wasn't even around.

Saren despite all of her teasing through out the day had suddenly become really reliable. She held up a vial and proclaimed it's name, it's use, and that it had too be given orally. She also proclaimed the obvious fact that Scath wouldn't be able to swallow it on his own, and that as his friend Jaycee had to be the one who did it. Jaycee wasn't usually the brightest bulb, but he wasn't that dumb either. Even he knew what she was suggesting. He froze for a second, the thoughts all rushed back all at once, and then a single memory overtook it all. A face of a young girl washed away by the rapids of a river. "Damn it!" He cursed under his breath as he snatched the vial from Saren's hand. He popped open the vial and was just about to poor the whole contents of it into his own mouth when Saren stopped him. Their eyes met and for a quick second and Jaycee was confused, then after her explanation he was furious. "What the hell!? This isn't the time for some test!" He exclaimed rather loudly in frustration. As Saren moved over to Scath to start seeing how bad the man's wounds were, Jaycee capped the vial and placed it on a nearby table, immediately afterwords he raised his hands and smoothed out his messed up hair.

His frown only grew when Saren pretty much told him to come and do the first aid she was supposed to be doing. He turned around ready to say something, but then he saw the sorry state she was in. It was clear to even an idiot like him that all of this had taken it's toll on her. His face softened and the frown that was present turned into a light smile. Giving Saren a small thumbs up he moved over to Scath. Taking the place where Saren was he cracked his knuckles, filling the room with a light sizzling sound rather then the usual pop of bones. "Alright Sis, lets hope first aid was one of the things you taught me that actually managed to stick". He mumbled . As he started to work he raised his voice so the other two could hear him again "Oh and don't worry about me, mine aren't that bad. I will patch them up when I am done or will have the nurse look at them when she gets back. Take care of yourselves first then you two should probably go get some rest. I won't accept any other answer than compliance. " he said the last part a little more forcibly as he started to get to work. first up was removing the tunic, then moving on to cleaning and bandaging what wounds he could. It wasn't going to be a pretty patch up, and it was going to be a bit clumsy but it would do until an actual doctor or nurse could help him.

Finally he needed a way to try and wake his buddy up. First and foremost he would bring up one hand in front of Scath's face and very gently snap his fingers together. A light POP filled the room, minuscule compared to the one he had unleashed in the hallway this morning but hopefully still loud enough to snap Scath awake. If it wasn't enough then he would try splashing Scath's face with water to try and wake him up. If neither of those worked then that sucked because Jaycee would be out of ideas.

Chill found the young woman before him to be very interesting but also far too fast. He tried so hard to focus on her and understanding everything that she was saying that even he felt like time was freezing for a moment. She wouldn't disappoint him, she was raised by the fae, no she was chosen to guard them, wait a tree chose her, she wouldn't disappoint the tree, she wouldn't disappoint the fae, and she would like him to take care of her. So focused was he on all of this that at the end a burst of questions rang through his head all at once. What are fae? What is the sacred tree? How could she disappoint me, the fae, or a tree? What do I need to take care of?! Was she ill? Dear Admiral help me I have so much to learn! He could finally focus through the loss of time again but alas the girl had teleported and he could only follow the trail of elements she left swirling in the air over to the bar where a group of people sat and then to an oddly furry young man she was licking the lap of. Was licking someone's lap a proper way to interact? How could he have never learned about that in all these years? Oh a different young lady in a wonderful outfit had grabbed her from him. How could these beings show him such a wide array of gloriously new and beautiful scenes so often?

Amidst the haze of his thoughts and his very serious attempt to focus on the time he was in now the elemental turned his head and found himself staring into the eyes of another being covered in ice elements. The being was striding over with big steps and seemed to be saying something in greeting but Chill couldn't make out what over the sound of his own excitement. In all these years he had never met another elemental let alone an ice elemental. While the ice elements around this new one were less than Chill expected his mind could come up with no other answer besides that he had finally found a true companion of the elements! Guided by his instincts and pure joy the elements around Chill swirled forward with the ice elements guiding them. In less than a second he had constructed a beautifully lifelike sculpture of a butterfly the size of a small dog and sent it flying through the air in greeting. The butterfly fluttered its paper thin wings allowing them to reflect the candlelight until it came crashing at Aetil's chest accompanied by flurries of frost and snow akin to a massive snowball. Now, if Aetil were truly one of the elements than he would hear the elements in the greeting giving a very excited and friendly greeting. They were conveying to him how joyous the sender was and how dearly he would like to become acquainted. Unfortunately, if Aetil were not an elemental, then he would have just been assaulted by a large icy butterfly wrapped in a cloud of stinging ice and snow.

Chill moved to follow behind his greeting too caught up in his excitement to notice any of the disruptions that might arise from his actions or how Comfort was fleeing the scene towards the Principal who was quietly sitting in disguise in the corner. Comfort at least could tell its owner had most likely just made a mistake and decided to seek out someone that could assist the wayward elemental if the need arose. The Principal in turn just sat and continued watching over the chaos the tavern had descended into.

The blue haired neko was finally relieved that he had such difficulty showing his emotions because otherwise he would be blushing like a school girl. He'd certainly had people bandage him up before but when the harpy blushed and methodically looked him over it felt very different. She actually seemed to care and that alone would obviously embarrass him but her blush made it so much more so. It turned out that he counted himself lucky too soon because her feathers on his back sent ticklish tingles deep into his spine and left him half regretting asking for help. This was without a doubt the most intimate interaction in his life and even he knew how pitiful that was. Thankfully it ended before too long and led into her introducing herself and her lovely owl who immediately stole some his attention.

It was as he was getting ready to greet the lovely little owl that he noticed the almost frightening circling had stopped and stole a glance over at the taller and more boisterous companion with curiosity. In a sudden jerk of her wrist a tooth was ripped straight from her gums and lay in her palm. Quintus had not expected to see such an interesting and mildly alarming incident and was rendered speechless until she introduced herself. Shina, Bobo, and Coralhyn. What pleasant names. The musician flicked his tail about to comment as such when Coralhyn asked if he needed help walking with what could have been a very friendly smile if there weren't still a missing tooth and traces of blood on the neighboring teeth, instead it made his tail stiffen from the intimidating effect it had.

Hesitation filled his mind on rather he should accept the apparent pirate's offer of help. One one side of it he knew he could walk even if it was slightly painful and she felt intimidating but on the other side she had been nothing but kind, if loud, and he wanted to exhibit a show of trust in thanks. "Thank you Miss Coralhyn but I couldn't inconvenience you like that. I'm sure I can make it." Deciding that he could give a polite refusal and accept if she insisted was the safest course he turned back toward the impromptu medic. "Thank you Shina and nice to meet you Bobo." Quintus was hoping, despite himself, that he could befriend these two young women. They were already two of the kindest people he had ever met.

Listening to Saren's suggestion to end the ghostly nuisances, he waited for the tornado she produced, and let his fox fires wrap around the swirling winds and torch the last of the chickens from hell. The thought of past occasions practicing and using the special combination attack with Saren made the corners of his lips turn up a little.
As the attack died out, he turned to check on Saren, rushing over in concern as she slid to the ground on shaky legs. His worried glances were ignored as Saren rushed over to the unconscious Scath - which Shiori was sure Saren herself did to the poor shadow. "Shiori, gather up anyone's loose chicken meat and lend me your arm. My body feels like pins and needles after using that much energy. Jay, mind carrying our heap of shadows here?" Offering her his help, the rag tag group started the short journey to the infirmary.
Saren called out for the missing nurse as Jaycee put Scath on a bed. His gold eyes followed Saren's movements as she took a bottle from the stash in the room.
"Tears of Mount Everett. Its water so crisp, it's said to waken those in the deepest of comas. If Scath has a concussion, we cannot allow him to slumber." She handed the bottle of what Shiroi guessed was medicine- or poison, who knew in this school? When Jaycee took the bottle with zero hesitation, Saren quixkly stopped him and admitted it was a test of his trustworthiness. While the male seemed irritated with the test, saying this wasn't the time for a silly test, Shiori disagreed. These kind of situations were where you needed to know if you could trust someone.

Saren was going to do first aid on Scath but instead stepped away from the man. "You should do this. A-And try to wake him up for real. Slap his face or pour some water or something. I'll find bandages and alcohol for your wounds as well."
Saren briskly turned around but she stumbled and fell forward. Shiori moved quickly and stopped her fall by letting her lean onto his chest. "Guess my body is still weak after using so much energy." she muttered. When Jaycee told them to rest and he would accept no other answer, Shiori snorted a little. He did not like orders too much, but he went with it anyways. Saren clearly needed rest. Bending a little, he swept Saren off her feet and into his arms in a bridal style carry. He walked over to one of the other infirmary beds an set her on it, ignoring any complaints or protests she had. It annoyed him a little, how she cared about others before herself most of the time. He guessed that just what made her Saren though.
Sitting perched on the edge of the bed he set Saren in, Shiori fished into his sleeves and pulled out a couple medium bundles of food wrapped in clothe napkins. "Jaycee... catch." Shiori stated, right before he tossed one of the bundles toward the guy. Turning, he offered the other, more gently, to Saren.

One hallway gave way to another hallway. It had seemed like the never ending hallways just wouldn’t stop. Sarasota had thought that maybe the Moonlight Tavern was really far from the detention room. Well, Until Aster had stopped, Did he just ask for directions? Oh, boy. It had turned out they had actually passed the Moonlight Tavern a little bit ago.

When they arrived at the Tavern. Sarasota had witnessed a non-human emphaser, and a non-human having an intimate moment. He had stopped mid step as Aster had found a seat at the bar. He had let out a held breath, one that he didn’t even realize he was holding in. He took a deep breath, and tried to calm his nerves.

The music presented a nice calm atmosphere, however It did little to quell the anger that had risen from his treatment here at Visian Academy. As he thought about his first day of School, he couldn’t help but be a little ticked. They picked a fight with him, and he got disciplinary action. Just how fair was that? Sarasota had looked around the room. There were some really Familiar faces in the bar, And not in a good way.

His eyes had landed right on Hesphelda. Why would Lord Zaren send his own daughter to this school? He absentmindedly wondered. In truth He never agreed upon Hesphelda’s rights to the throne. She was too soft. He caught himself thinking. He had met her a few times before this, When his parents would drag him along to the castle. Sarasota didn’t agree with some of her viewpoints back then. Probably one reason they never became good friends.. That was a long time ago though, maybe her mindset had changed since then? He wasn’t sure though. It had been a great many moons since he last saw her.

His eyes continued to scan the entire room. Where he had laid eyes upon the one animal he didn’t want to see unless it was in the arena. It was Evan. His thoughts were cut short as he had caught a question from Aster. “Can humans not hold their Liquor well?”

“We humans can Withstand our liquor much better than you non-humans ever could.“ He snorted back at Aster. That’s when the Bartender Piped up and answered Asters previous Ramblings something about the princess of Alenia. “The princess would never be allowed to step foot in here.”

Without so much of a second thought Sarasota, waved his right wrist lazily. He then Violently snapped his wrist toward Hesphelda and extended his pointer finger out. “Then why is she right there?” Sarasota asked The bartender, making sure to retract his hand after he knew Charles had seen the gesture. “May I have a water sir? How many Coppers would that be?” Sarasota had wondered.

It was at this moment that Charles’ help had jumped the counter and was screaming. Something about no shirt no service. How often had this happened? He found himself wondering.

The outward praise from both of her new friends would have made her blush, had she not already been doing so. “Ah, don’t worry about it. I’m just glad I could help!” Shina was doing the best she could at keeping her composure, looking more at the newly applied bandages than Quintus himself. “Sorry if it was a bit rushed or, ehm... rough. I learned most of this from the nurse today.” She let out a soft and somewhat awkward laugh, giving Quintus a bit more space again as her wings folded up and settled on her lap (a habit she had grown into to keep her from fidgeting while sitting).

Her eyes met with his for a moment before he focused on her familiar, picking up on Quintus’ interest in her feathered friend rather quickly. She piped up again as Bobo decided to flitter over and settle onto his shoulder for the time being. “Oh, that’s cute! I think he likes you too Quintus. He’s a big softy most of the time... if you don’t mind the talons that is.” All the while she had a pleasant smile plastered on her face, but had to stifle a yawn after her statement. How long had she been up? It was a good question, she had remembered seeing the moon dip below the horizon before watching the days sunrise. She had to at least try to adjust her sleep schedule for classes, but after the very full day and second night she’d had her exhaustion was finally setting in full-force.

Rest wouldn’t be an option yet though, these two were genuinely kind and being around them was more comforting than wandering off to find a potentially sleeping or angry dorm-mate. She noticed for the first time that the ever-present sound of footsteps circling them had stopped, glancing around before spotting Coralhyn’s looming figure, bloodied tooth in hand. The harpy shot up again at the sight, flapping her wings and doing her best to stay at eye-level with the merfolk. “W-wait, Coralhyn you’re bleeding! Are you alright!?” While it must’ve not been that big of a deal, given that she had literally ripped the tooth out without a moments notice, the trail of blood from the corner of the shark-girls mouth was still concerning.

Nikiri's concept of time wavered as much as the room's fine details did in her foggy state. Just how long was she lapping up water from a man's lap before being scooped up by some foreign woman? Nikiri didn't know. She didn't, however, fight the gentle but stern grasp. She rather enjoyed the sensation of being cradled.
It reminded her of a distant fond memory, one she couldn't quite remember clearly. Being handed a glass of water by the beautiful woman, Nikiri lapped at it slowly, enjoying the cool liquid that didn't burn her throat. When she successfully downed it, she blinked excessively at the nonhuman before her. "Hmm....Roro, was it? Em sorry."

The neko positioned herself against the dark-haired woman once more, blissfully in a hugging fest. She nestled her face into the woman's neck, a chunk of hair preventing her from making direct contact with skin. "Huh...you smell nice." Nikiri draped her arms around the woman's neck and clung like a child would to its mother. The scent of lavender and lilac nodes rippled off of the stranger's hair. Despite these being naturally calming flowers, Nikiri was associating the floral aroma with something far more personal. So familiar...where have I encountered this scent before?

A light tap on her shoulder interrupted her mental investigation. Turning to peer at the tall man, she noticed a hovering wine glass filled halfway with an aqua liquid. The man appeared somewhat perturbed and anxious.

----------

The moment some guests were pointing out the princess's arrival, Charles made an effort to stifle their conspiracy theories. Unfortunately, some folks were just too darn persistent. A blonde human's blatant remark only worked to irritate the man. So much so, that he answered his question about the price of water with attitude. "Usually free. But for you? Ten ponpons for making my night harder." It was unusual for the bartender to abandon his hospitality. Already regretting his choice of words, he filled a glass up anyway and laid it in front of the customer. "Excuse me," He mumbled evenly and set off toward the princess's table with a prepared glass in hand.

"Here, drink this, madam. It'll sober you up." With a side glance at Hesphelda, Charles offered a meek smile. "Such an undignified place must not suit your tastes very well, your highness. Wouldn't you prefer the tranquil atmosphere of the Ethereal Gardens? A nice moonlight walk would be stunning at this hour."

He watched as the purple-haired neko guzzled down the drink without much hesitation. Charles didn't use this potion often, as it was a rarity within the kingdom. He managed to get his hands on it through a gambling session back in the day. It could instantly sober anyone up, for half a glass was the equivalent of eight water glasses. Just as suspected, a few seconds after finishing the concoction, the neko bolted from Hesphelda's lap and to the washrooms.

To the beastman, Charles added, "I do apologize for my employee's brash actions. It's his first day. I can do nothing about the pants, but might I give you a real drink to make up for it? How about our finest rum, on the house?" His smile was less strained than when addressing royal figures.

Scath's peaceful darkness was interrupted by a thunderous boom. ...Well, it sounded like a boom compared to the silence. Scath grumbled slightly.

Then the water hit his face.

Scath spluttered, bolting upright in the bed, shaking his head and rubbing his eyes to get rid of the water on his face. Only after making sure that there was no water in his eyes did he open them. He looked around frantically, trying to find out where the source of his rude awakening came from.Vials everywhere. Herbs as well. Jaycee, Saren, and Shiori are standing around me. Where's Evelynn? ...In fact, now that Scath had focused his mind, questions started throwing themselves at him. How did he get on a bed? Why was he in what could only be a clinic? Why were Jaycee, Saren, and Shiori standing around him in the first place? Last he remembered, he was in a hallway stealing chickens. ...And maybe getting curbstomped by some ghostly chickens. Now it probably made sense why his arms were hurting- cuts from the chickens. But still, even despite his embarrassing act in front of everyone, he was fairly certain that he had minor scratches, nothing too bad. So, why were they standing around him? Was it worse than he thought? He had to know.

"What's wro..n-" While Scath was asking this question, he looked at his pale white arm. And realized. His arm was pale white. He could see the black veins. ...He looked at the strands of hair in front of his face. Smoky. His already pale face became even paler, impossible as that sounded. He looked at the other three, the question slowly dying on his lips, and a horrified expression slowly morphing on his face, his eyes opening wide. Then, he started backing up- slowly, at first, but then it was a panicked rush, stopping only when he bumped against the headrest, whereupon he grabbed a pillow and used that and his knees as a shield to the rest of his body. At first, he started at the others with an expression of fear, but then he quickly changed his mind and buried his face in between the crook of his legs and the pillow. My eyes. T-t-t- Scath was so terrified, he couldn't form coherent thoughts in his mind. His muffled voice came through a few moments- or was it an eternity?- later: "I-I-I-I-I c-c-ca-... P-p-pl-plea...p-please don-.. I-It's n-n-n-not wh-wha-..."

It was hopeless. Scath couldn't form coherent words. His fear simply overwhelmed his thought process for the next few moments. It almost seemed as if he was hyperventilating again. And that just set off his barely coherent thoughts into more pessimistic line. A-after that incident with Sa-Saren, and now this... She's gonna h-h-... Jay-...Jaycee's gonna be horrified... E-even Shiori's gonna say that I'm unnatural... Well, it was nice knowing them, for barely a day. What an idiot and weakling he was. He couldn't keep a secret to save his life. Now they were gonna be like Anna... It was all because he was idiotic and dumb enough to think that he could take on some ghost chickens. What a stupid move on his part. He should've known that he couldn't even deal with insubstantial chickens. Where's Evelynn? How could he get out of this situation?

Scath was eerily quiet while thinking all of these thoughts, aside from his sped up breathing. Then, choking noises came from time to time. ...N-no, Scath wasn't crying. He..he was just trying to get some more air, that's all. It was because he was breathing too quickly, that's all. There certainly wasn't any wet stain on the pillow that had a face buried in it.

---Evelynn---

Evelynn just stared at Saren for a moment as she rushed over to Scath, then seemingly shrugged, and went on the hunt. Her master was in good hands now. Now onto finishing off the rest of the rabble. Not even ten minutes passed, and the rest of the chickens had been reduced to that disgusting ectoplasm that they were made of. Evelynn smirked, before getting serious, and padding over to Scath's coat. As she approached, the glint of shiny things caught her eye. Round objects, that were shiny? Coins. Evelynn instantly grabbed them, and stuffed them in her storage compartment- top secret where that was. Then she grabbed Scath's coat by her teeth, and began dragging both the coat and the chicken on top of it to the infirmary.

Some time later, Evelynn finally arrived at the doorway. Once there, she witnessed Scath's breakdown. Evelynn's instincts screamed at her, but she waited for the others to respond to Scath first before jumping onto the bed after they responded to his panic and fear, and ripping the pillow out from Scath's legs. And forcibly sitting on his lap, therefore forcing his legs to return back to their resting position. Only after forcing Scath to get out of his shell, quite literally, she settled down, lying on him and making soft chirring noises of encouragement.

ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ The Nekomancer ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

"A barricade, you say?" Nekomancer replied to Ed's answer, playing with the thought. "So you're the type to take plan seventy-three. Indeed, securing the target is ideal, but be cognizant that we have many onlookers nearby. Even if our cause is righteous, there are many that fail to see it that way." A crease formed under his mask in the shape of a frown. "Don't forget that there are many targets, as well. It is wiser to hunt them individually and attempt for another operation at some other point in the foreseeable future. Only a harem protagonist is dumb enough to go for multiple nekos at the same time."

A yell from across the bar caught his attention as a peculiar blue demon rampaged through the horde of bodies. Tac wasn't quite able to catch what they were saying but recognized them as his faithful servant, Anthill. In an excited manner, he raised his arm and waved back to them. It was at that moment when Anthill had gotten pelted by Chill's Ice Blast , which made even the cultist wince. This must be his warning, Tac realized. The young, kind, devoted, honest, and kindred Anthill was saving him from the quack professor that had ice cubes for brains. Do not fear, my generous acolyte, for I will have hymns written after your valiant efforts this day. Shedding a tear, he turned from the scene, briskly walking away, Ed close at his heels.

"We have no time to waste. I will demonstrate to you the culmination of my life's work, uh, student." Placing one hand to his waist and the other to Ed's face, he motioned for them to halt. "Stay here. Getting too close may interfere with my art. Do not fret your puny mind, for I will return once my conquest is complete. Prepare a feast for my glory." Yes, it was true that Nekomancer had no clue what he was referring to, but he didn't want his new follower thinking he relied solely on the sacrifices of others. For now, the plan was to go with the flow and see where things went from there.

On cue, the alluring Nikiri had exited the restrooms, her disheveled 'I just recovered from a hangover' aesthetic doing little to deter him from her voluptuous form. The steady drip of a liquid was heard as Tac eyed himself, noticing that his nose was acting like a faucet of blood, his body juice spraying everywhere. It trailed over his mouth and onto his white underpants, staining them in a menacing red. People around him began to part ways, undoubtedly intimidated by his overwhelming superiority and grace. "Yes, yes, make way for your Dark Messiah. I have a duty sent to me by the decree of the great Kah'Nyan. Get in my way and perish where you stand, ungrateful lambs!" In a grandiose wave of his arms, the masses parted, making a line straight to his favorite purple-haired goddess.

Crouching into an Olympic sprinter's stance, he dashed towards her. As he got close, the soles of his calloused heels skidded on the wooden floor ow and he put his arms in front of himself to brace for impact. Luckily, his calculations were correct, and as his hands slammed down against the counter on either side of Nikiri, he had triumphantly trapped her between his toned figure. Their eyes locked, a shocked expression emanating from the girl. No words came to mind. Instead, instinct had kicked in, his head filled with an empty lust for her.

He placed his mouth over hers, his dry, chapped lips meeting those that were warm and tinged with the taste of ale. It was slow at first, a foreign experience to the man, before becoming confident, their tongues then exchanging the metallic blood that dripped from his nose. He felt her, it was undeniable, as her hand gently pushed at him, before it stopped, now intertwined with his. He loomed over Nikiri, her back arching over the tavern counter, his chest pressed against her clothes.

Who are you? he felt her calling.

I am Tac Yssup.

What are you?

I am me.

Swiftly, his arm wrapped around her, holding her as their lips parted, a small pant from the two of them. He went back in. Time felt stagnant, the world dissolving until it was only them.

It’s unjust, he speculated, pulling away from her. Tac’s forehead rested against Nikiri's, staring into the well of a lost soul. You lie to yourself, surrounded by others, being tricked into believing that this is life. One is not alive until they’ve experienced death. Only then can you live. The scent of her breath reminded him of nature, a memory that irked him greatly.

I will bear the sin of life if it means absolving you of it. I will make you whole. Through my crimes, I will give you perfection.

Are you not alone?

I am not.

You are.

Then we shall be alone together.

Backing away, his lips curled into satisfaction. “You will always be mine. Never forget that.”

Coralhyn's shoulder slumped slightly and her smile turned into a frown at the rejection of her offer to help. "Oh alright" she said, her disappointment blatantly obvious in her voice. Now Coralhyn started too feel a little useless. Shina had already done so much to help and Coralhyn hadn't done anything helpful yet. Maybe she wasn't being friendly enough, did she have something on her face that made her look mean, or did she say something wrong? Wait, if she remembered correctly the sailors often talked about liking to eat fish. She was a fish, and even though she liked to eat other kinds of fish she was the only type of fish she had seen today. Maybe they just saw her as a talking snack that they wanted to eat later?! Her eyes went a little wide at the thought of that. They probably didn't want to eat her, they seemed to nice to eat people.

Coralhyn's moved perked up again as she finally focused in on Shina's familiar. The smaller cute bird flapped it's way onto Quintus's shoulder. She had never seen that particular type of bird before. She cocked her head to the side as she stared at it, curious as to what it was like. It's feathers looked soft and she wanted to try touching them. She began to reach out her hand to Bobo but then the flapping of Shina's wings caught her attention. Turning to look straight into the eyes of the smaller woman who had risen off the ground to be at Coralhyn's eye level. Coralhyn grew confused as Shina expressed her concern over her bleeding mouth. Coralhyn had already forgotten she had ripped out her tooth. Using the sleeve of her shirt she wiped away the small of blood that was trickling from her mouth. "Oh do not worry about that. I lose teeth all the time. A new one will grow back faster then a gust of the sweet sea's breeze." she said with her grin having returned to her face. To help prove her point she opened her mouth wide to show off her 4 different rows of teeth, all of them present except for the one tooth she ripped out. She left her mouth open for a few seconds then as she closed it she held up her right arm to show of the bracelet made of her own teeth. "The landlovers back at port kept talking about how they liked Shark teeth, and I have quite a bit extra. So when ever I loose a tooth I keep it and turn them into trinkets. I think I have enough now for another bracelet. Maybe a necklace as well." As she talked it was clear as day that she was proud of her own handiwork.

"Oh right the tavern! Drink is the best medicine!" Very quickly changing gears she began to walk in the direction she came. Stopping a few feet a way she gave her two new friends and gave them a salute. "Follow me. Honorary navigator Coralhyn will lead the way!" She would wait until Quintus was ready to actually start off towards the tavern. Matching her pace with her companions she would walk in a zig zag pattern. She would go ahead a bit but no further then 6 feet ahead before doing a single circle around them and returning to her zig zag walk. To the regular person it would look like she was doing some sort of clumsy foolish dance, but Coralhyn was merely excited. She had made three friends and how was finally being helpful. This excitement and the worry that whoever had hurt her new friend Quintus would come back caused Coralhyn to pick up the movement pattern that she used while she was swimming. On land there was no grace in her movements, but in the water it would be a sight to behold for any who had not seen it before.

Eventually they would reach the tavern and they could finally get Quintus a drink.

Whilst his disgust for the non-human remained strong after the first tankard, the same couldn't be said for the second. Or third.

Or fourth.

"You know." Katarn slurred. "My momma', bless her heart, sh-she was a fortune teller, an-" Katarn let out a loud burp. "And she always used to tell the rich duchesses that they would live a loooong and happy life."

He took another long swig from the tankard, his head pounding. "She used to tell me that too, all the time. I think... I think she believed that. Even till the end, when she..." he trailed off, staring into his drink before letting out a giggle.

"You wanna' hear something funny?"

Not waiting for the beastmans response, Katarn continued. "I-I was..." He giggled.

"I WAS MARRIED!" In his drunken fervor, this was perhaps the most hilarious thing to have ever been uttered from his own two lips. Tears of laughter sprung up as he howled, pounding the table with his tankard.

Hesphelda

Enamored by Nikiri as she nudged herself further into her hold, Hesphelda hardly noticed the comment Aetil made on her title. Her cheeks turned a tint of pink, the devil's observation making her more embarrassed than she thought. Before she was able to respond, however, the blue individual had noticed something off in the distance. She watched as his face contorted into frustration, and then sat silently as he raced off. I hope it's nothing too serious. Redirecting her concern back to the vulnerable woman that buried themselves further into her embrace, she looked longingly at them, her gaze locked on the sway of the gem around their neck. If there was ever a time to ask, it's now.

A floating drink dissuaded Hesphelda of the thought. The elegant barkeep, Charles, had offered a special drink to Nikiri, one he said that would help her overcome the lethargy she had been inflicted with. Without hesitation, the neko gulped it down, quickly hopping out of the princess' arms, to her disappointment, and disappearing into the crowd. She had lost her chance to get some answers. Instead, it was Charles who began asking questions. "Hm? Oh no, I don't feel that way at all here. As long as there is inequality between the races, I feel there is no place that quite fits my ideal." A flicker of sorrow washed over her, quickly masked once she faced Charles. "The freedom you've set as a standard within this establishment is marvelous. Seeing everyone enjoy themselves in merriment is a beautiful sight in itself. I applaud your dedication to your craft."

Then, she nodded her head to Calum'ro. "I'm going to check on Nikiri. You don't mind waiting a little longer to share drinks, I hope?" Gently, she raised herself from her seat, walking past the beastman and towards the direction Nikiri had scampered off to. The tavern was flooded with students, making Hesphelda wonder if the entire campus had been invited. A bump here and a shove there caused her to lose her balance, wobbling out of the pack and into a clearing that had suddenly been created. Why is everyone backing away? she wondered, fixing her view to where the others had been looking. Jaw open, she felt fear grip at her heart as the scene between Nikiri and Nekomancer played out, wretched helplessness overtaking her spirit.

Their kiss hadn't lasted long, only a few seconds before the hardly clothed individual backed away from her friend. To Hesphelda, it felt like a lifetime. A resurgence of memories flooded to the forefront of her mind, their meaning lost to her in the craziness of the moment. All she knew is that the powerlessness she felt now was because of that man. In an assertive stride, she calmly walked up to the counter beside them, picked up one of the tankards that someone had been drinking, and doused Nekomancer with it. "Harassment is a serious offense. I am going to send in a formal complaint about what has transpired this evening. Be prepared to face the consequences of your actions."

Swiftly, she grabbed Nikiri by the wrist, careful not to let her anger get the best of her, and pulled her away. "Come on, Nikiri. We're leaving. Now." Her heart was racing, questions bouncing around her head at an absurd rate, but what confused her the most was why tears trickled down her cheeks. They had passed by Calum'ro, the princess certain that he had caught sight of the way she looked right now. Talk about losing your composure, Hesphelda, she reprimanded herself, heading straight for the doors. In a single shove, the two girls had made it outside, Hesphelda letting go of Nikiri after creating some distance between them and the bar. Slowly, she turned to the neko, and without thought, wrapped her arms around them.

"Are you okay, Nikiri? He didn't hurt you, did he?" she muffled out, the droplets in her eyes streaking against the girl's clothes.

Saren expected the floor's bitter kiss, but Shiori rushed to her aid just in time, like he always did. Her cheek rested against his toned chest. Sweeping her up in a princess carry, Saren pouted and made a small effort to escape his grasp. "Shiori! I would have been fine..." As he carried her toward a cot, she appeared to surrender, obediently draping her arms around his neck for support.

He's always so observant and never misses a beat. Wasn't I the one looking after you? When did the tables turn?

Saren looked up at the kitsune's elegant features. There was something extra manly about him today. Shiori delicately rested her down before distributing the food rations between them all. While Jaycee was trying to tend to Scath, Saren took the opportunity to hug Shiori from behind. She squished her face against his back. "Thanks, Shiori."

Saren wasn't about to refute Jaycee's order and began to settle in for bed when Scath awakened. The grand reveal of his true form was shocking at first but quickly accepted by Saren. She was sure he had his reasons for not wishing to disclose his race. Speaking of, Saren had never seen a nonhuman of this form. Despite her curiosity, now wasn't the appropriate time to ask. Apart of her wanted to console the trembling man, but she couldn't. Not only had her legs given out, but she felt somewhat responsible for his condition.

"Scath..." Saren frowned, her expression filled with pain as her eyes settled upon him. "You'll always be our friend, no matter what. So..." She couldn't find the rest of the words. Luckily, she didn't have to.

Zinnia wanted to march right up to the library and rant her soul away to Rosalina about Tac stealing one of her patients. However, she halted her steps a quarter of the way there. Zinnia looked down at her shoes for a brief moment. "She could be sleeping. Sisterlina is quite busy these days, isn't she? Even when she's teaching me how to read, she always appears to be focusing on something else." Sisterlina is such an independent woman. I won't bore her with my childish complaints.

And so she turned back. She shuffled anxiously back to her post. What if Tac brought Ed back? He seemed mighty flushed before leaving. Maybe he had a fever? Although she held onto a hope that fate would never grant, a different gift awaited her.

Zinnia's eyes sparkled upon entering the tense room. More patients! I should have never left. Bless the founders. She didn't need to read the atmosphere to understand the situation. The best remedy for tears was hugs, point-blank. Without officially announcing her presence, Zinnia made her way to stand beside the shadowy and pale figure. Making sure not to disturb the fox on his lap, she brought his head into her bosom. Ignoring his chilled temperature, she held him there.

"There, there. Steady your soul, love. You don't have to hide in here. Zinnia's space is your space." She kissed the top of his head before grabbing a blanket from nearby and wrapping it around his shoulders. "I will make tea." Her soft demeanor shifted as she noticed several items were misplaced. "Ah, you're the type of people who like to take matters into your own hands, I see. That's fine. I'm fine." Her irked tone didn't bleed out into her appearance.

"Sit down, love. I'll show ya how a real doctor works." Zinnia motioned for Jaycee to find a seat. "Name and class, all of you," she chimed as she sifted through her available tea jars.

Jaycee Cormac
Location: Infirmary
Interactions: Saren/Zinnia ( Violetti Violetti ) Shiori ( SnowJynx SnowJynx ) Scathrai/Evelyn ( darkborn darkborn )

Jaycee caught the food tossed to him by Shiori. Luckily he was cooperating with his command for the two to rest. Even Saren was going along with his command without a single complaint. Man, Saren must have been way more exhausted then he thought. Looking at the food in his hands his stomach growled fiercely and he could feel his mouth start to water. Those feelings were quickly replaced by a powerful wave of guilt. They had taken food from the kitchen without asking and then proceeded to fight and trash the hallway, maybe even messing up the kitchen in the process. Shaking his head he set the food aside, he would eat later. He had to take care of the mess they made first, but even before that he had to wait for Scath to wake up and the nurse to get here. He didn't have to wait for too long.

Before the nurse arrived Scath shot up awake and Jaycee sitting next to him stumbled back a bit in surprise. Now with Scathrai awake they could all see the full extent of his other form... or was it his real form. Jaycee's face turned into a scowl, but not one directed to Scath, but rather too himself. He could feel the hairs on the back of his neck sticking up like he was some kind of frightened kid. What the hell are you so scared of? So what if he looks different now. Scath is still Scath... right? He wanted to be the first to say something but Saren beat him to the punch... Pathetic. Jaycee was never one to hesitate, now this was the third time today he had found himself reluctant to take action. Well at least Saren had said of one the many things he wanted to say.

His attention was torn away from the cowering form of Scath with the arrival of who he assumed to be the nurse. At least he hoped she was the nurse or some random lady just ran in and started to hug his buddy. His eyes drifted up to the pair of bear ears on top of her head then back to the scene in front of him as a whole. Normally he would have been a bit jealous that his buddy was getting this much attention from the opposite sex, but right now he probably needed it. Listening to her kind words Jaycee was sure that this was definitely what his friend needed right now.

Now that the nurse was finally here he could dip out and go apologize for the mess he made back at the kitchens. Hopefully he would have time to clean up the area before he had to apologize. Turning towards the nurse who commented on his handiwork and asked for his info he bowed his head in apology. "Sorry about the lack luster patch work. Jaycee Cormac, Mage student." razing his head he dismissed her invitation to sit down. "Sorry I can't stay. I need to go take care of something." he told her as he moved towards the door. "I will see you tomorrow buddy." He said to Scath as he moved past the bed his friend was in. Turning as he reached the door he waved back to Saren and Shiori "See you two later".

Evanu'nal Kour'es

Location:
Moonlight Tavern

Mentions: Twisted Tea Twisted Tea (Sarasota)

Interacting With: VomitIcicle VomitIcicle (Katarn)

For the bartender to leave so many drinks at once for the two clearly demonstrated his experience in reading his clients intentions. Or perhaps, maybe he didn't want to be going back and forth between everyone, seeing how a certain someone had peeved off the handy man. Realistically, it didn't matter... The important thing was that the drinks were there. Without a second thought, both Katarn and Evan downed the tankards in quick succession. While normally, a hearty beastfolk's tolerance would be quite high, the fact that he hadn't eaten all day, plus had been subject to being a snack for a certain hampire proved to leave him in a similar state to his buddy next to him. If the buzz hit him by the second tankard, then it wasn't at all surprising that he was feeling a bit woozy and bloated by the fourth.

With a flopped ear, Evan does his best to focus on the words of Katarn, hiccups interrupting his attempt to cut in on the conversation. The look on his face was a mess of inebriated emotion, trying to pour out his feelings about mothers, and why he despised his own. But upon Katarn's revelation of being married, the beastfolk's memory lapsed on what he was going to say. Instead, he couldn't help but embrace his friend with a heavy arm around his shoulder, pulling him in as if congratulating him, all the while laughing stupidly as if to join Katarn on the fun.

"Heeeey, that's great!" he bubbled, his longer whiskers bending against Katarn's likely numbed face. "You know, I was quite the poplar guy back in my old —HIC— home. But I never rea... really believed in tha'stuff. In... what'cha call it... I guess comm—HIC—itment. So I'm proud of ya, buddy." He turns to face Katarn while still clinging to him like an old scarf, though not before taking a gulp of his ale.

"So, ya got a still of her? Is she waitin' back home for ya? Huh? What's she like?" he questions with a sleazy grin, his fangs in display as if he wasn't giving Katarn an option to back away from the subject. The rest of the bar at this point was obscured, with the sounds from the growing conflict on just the opposite side of the circular bar out of his focus.
