Aetil kept his eyes peeled on the crowd as more and more exited the auditorium, spending a small amount of time observing those around him as to make sure Aiden hadn’t slipped past. The first was a pair of women, one seemingly human and the other some kind of sheep demon. He was intrigued by the presence of the latter, knowing that there were earth-bound demons and half demons that found ways to survive among humans, but they generally relied on their physical prowess to keep themselves safe. It was interesting to see one of the sheep away from their flock, considering they generally found safety in numbers one of their greatest strengths. He made a mental note to find these two again, at least the sheepish one. The other group was a pair of humans along with a newly arriving demi-human, some subspecies of cat-person. He was surprised that Tac hadn’t come chasing after the man, even more so as they revealed that Tac was assigned to them. Oh that’s right, he's most likely still buried under a pile of broccoli at the moment. The imagery put a small smirk on his face for the time being before glancing over at the cat-man.

There was a part that would have told (or rather warned) him of what exactly he was in store for, however a flash of green and red in the corner of his eye caught his attention. The fiend turned his head towards the woman, his gaze locking with Aidens for the first time. They looked about as pleased with their arrangement as he was, and before he could even get a word in she had turned tail and ran off. Of course he of all people would be paired with one of the difficult humans, and he hadn’t even tried to look threatening. An audible “of course...” escaped from him as he began following the sound she was making, moving past the group of men within a hairs-breath as he pursued his oh so wonderful ‘buddy’.

He couldn’t just ignore the others existence as they both surely wanted to, having been given very clear instructions and punishments beforehand should he not go along with the academies plans. The woman was moving with haste, he’d give them that, and it was too early in the day to start running around campus. After a minute or two of following her cries he had lost sight of her, letting out a quiet sigh as he paused for a moment. He’d prefer not to run around the campus blindly, and as if on cue Aetil watched a Blue Russian cat prance into view, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. This was Aetil’s personally assigned familiar, dubbed by himself as “Mr. Mephistopheles”, and his main source of monitoring while not around a faculty member. The feline immediately began to wander off in a different direction he had been looking, making sure to catch the fiends eye before continuing. “Fine... I’ll follow, but if she screams again I’m not dealing with it.”

"Lia? "

Lia jumped when she heard a new voice pop into her head. She scanned the area, and found her buddy. She was still trying to find out who had said her name, but decided to push the thought aside, and focus on what was going on currently, which was the fact that her buddy was right in front of her. Lia studied her buddy a little closer, she was pale, very pale, almost like she had no time in the sun at all. The color of her horns were a huge contrast to her pale skin and white hair.

Lia's concentration was thrown out the window when she heard someone scream. She watched a person run out of the auditorium, yelling "nooooo!". "I wonder what happened?" She muttered to herself. She turned her attention back to her buddy, "My name is Lia Daejun, I presume that you are Fae Hartfield" She said. "Nice to meet you " she finished before taking yet another look around. She recalled the principal saying that they should explore the campus.

"Well, The Principle said that we should explore the campus, so should we go see the market area and see what their is to offer?" Lia suggested.

Kannah Syllis

Mentions: Lo Mayn Lo Mayn (Aiden-sorta)

Crowd surging around her, Kannah struggled to keep her feet. Small as she was, even by human standards, many of the students around her positively dwarfed her. This served to complicate her rather simple task of finding her new glowing friend, but it couldn't be helped. Surely she was quite the sight, standing on her toes and waving an image of her buddy around in the musty auditorium air, but she wasn't particularly concerned with her own appearance at the moment, and couldn't imagine anyone else paying her too much attention when they were busy trying to find their own partners. This was most certainly a good thing, considering she was supposed to be representing the Syllis family here at the academy and her actions and performance would likely have a lasting impact on public perception of the house, as well as their recently achieved status of nobility. Kannah was the eldest, and would likely be the only child the Syllis' would bear. She had been sent here to help establish a future for the house, forging relationships with the other nobles and perhaps finding a more prominent family than her own to marry into, cementing their status and growing their influence. As her parents were so fond of saying, "Appearance isn't everything. Not quite."

"Kaaaaaaannnnnaaaaaah! Kaaaaaaannnnaaaah! This is Oooorrrioooon! Try to stay by the doooooor once you get out!"

Kannah had just been about to resign herself to wait for the crowd to disperse before she heard the shouts. Her first thought when she heard the voice, was noting that yelling in such a place was rather improper. Her second thought was relief that she could lower her arm which was beginning to ache in protest of her awkward stance, and her third thought was that she didn't think it would be such a bad thing if Orion was the improper type. While her parents had their own reasons for sending her to Visian Academy, Kannah had pushed to come to the school because she wanted the opportunity to meet and observe the different non-humans that would surely be in attendance, and form her own opinion of them. She hurried to the door, or at least in the direction she believed it to be, taking care to avoid bumping into the other students. After what seemed a far longer walk than it should have been, she finally exited into the hallway. While it was still crowded here, the more enclosed space made it significantly easier for her to spot the light radiating off of Orion, and make her way to him.

As Kannah approached, the crowd broke, and she was able to get her first look at her buddy in person. She froze, staring stupidly at the constellation-like patterns she could make out on the boy's skin, and others just barely through his light clothing, her naturally wide eyes somehow growing even beyond what others might think possible as she was struck speechless. Kannah carried on ogling the boy for no less than ten seconds, until she was roughly jostled by some seemingly upset passerby, upon which her wits were gracious enough to return to her and she began scrambling to find something to say. So much for first impressions, she thought. "Oh. Uhhh. Hi." A pause as she searched for a proper greeting and habitually brushed a stray strand of her chocolate-colored hair away from her eyes, only for it to immediately fall right back into the same position. "T-that is to say--" another pause and her eyes flitted briefly to what she assumed to be his familiar on his shoulder before managing to lock themselves on Orion's. At long last, her sense of etiquette returned, taking over and delivering the greeting she'd practiced for as long as she could remember: "Kannah, heir of House Syllis," a short curtsy before she continued, "a pleasure to meet you, Orion of House Callswater." The shift in the seemingly timid girl's demeanor was instant--nearly robotic--the greeting delivered with an aura of confidence, and clockwork precision--though not lacking charm.

Her introduction now concluded, the confidence Kannah had begun to radiate just moments earlier seemed to diminish ever-so-slightly, now that she was moving on to less familiar territory. So many questions buzzed around in her mind, begging to be asked of the peculiar boy in front of her and his familiar, but in an effort to maintain some sense of decorum, she held onto most of them, for now. "So, Mr. Callswater, it sounds like we should begin making ourselves familiar with the academy grounds. Any place in particular you'd like to start?" Her lips turned upward into a pleasant smile, awaiting his response.

Elsa
Location: Exiting auditorium
Interactions: Violetti Violetti

Arriving late into the auditorium, Elsa found a spot near the back. New schools makes her nervous, she is worried about fitting in and making new friends. The idea of being assigned a buddy sounded good, but there is always the chance a buddy is a bully which creates a miserable experience. Elsa saw that her buddy was a cute looking neko and breathed a sigh of relief. She looked nice and Elsa loved cats.

The principal ended his speech and students began to leave. Elsa managed to catch up to Nikiri. “Hi, Nikiri. I am Elsa, your assigned buddy. I love your purple hair, it’s so radiant.”

Eternal Darkness
View attachment 740252“TIM! I’m going to be late! You can have my house, just don’t burn it down, please!”

Ed shouted to a character out of the scene, and it could - maybe - be heard that something - a giant bird perhaps - fluttered its wings, though, it was so quiet, it could have very well been imagined. However, Ed did not slow his panic running for anything, not to check the sound’s validity nor to take in the beautiful scenery that populated Visian academy. He was going to be late! On his first day, no less! Ed tightened his grip on his satchel, glanced around the compound, and went head first through the auditorium wall. He squealed on his exit, tripping over his own boots, and throwing himself to the floor to land in a sprawl. “Ayah~~” He groaned. He took a few moments before rising to his feet again.

The principal had just begun speaking when Ed took his spot towards the door, standing, as to allow the many creatures and people before him to sit, and sit comfortably (meaning, he wouldn’t sit in any gaps next to anyone as to not make them uncomfortable because he was that type of person).

Finally, he looked around. The school’s auditorium was filled with a diversity Ed had never seen before. He could see several cat ears, people with green, purple, and gold hair, and- is that man glowing? Amazing! It didn’t take long for a mindless grin to appear. And as he listened to the last of the Principal’s words, Ed felt a burning desire take root in his core. He was going to make friends. He would go to shin-digs and drink the drink of sages. He would find love, yes! Love! Did I mention, friends? All those things rattled throughout the empty skull that belonged to Eternal Darkness himself, and as he scoured through his assignment packet, this dream would slowly materialize, and with it, the eagerness grew.
She’s cute, Ed thought, looking at his buddy’s profile. Aimi Minamoto, a vibrantly blond and adorable neko. “Ayah~!” He was smitten on first sight… She was the one. If he had his way, after a ludicrously dramatic relationship, and a few chapters apart, they’d get happily married; and they would have the sweetest half-Neko half-human babies possible. Then, the principal announced, they were free to go.

Ed scanned the staircases. She would come up either, and he’d be sure to find her right away. And as he looked, a blur of purple chased past him. It was Nikiri Elms (though he did not know that at the time), one of the few students were actually late. And despite clearly not having the same hair color as Aimi, Ed watched her with a knowing look as if to say, “it’s me!” She didn’t look back once, her focus elsewhere. Interesting attention-demanding characters populated the school, it made sense to him. Then she tumbled. It was then, it occurred to Ed, that he should go speak to her. She was his buddy after all, and he might as well take the lead. Meanwhile, Ed’s actual buddy bounded for the doors.

It was a difficult task for Ed to traverse the busy stairs, a boy with such a weak boyish stature. He begged for space. He nudged. His face got accidentally smushed by a few backpacks, and someone with a really strong foot stepped on his toes. It was only his determination for friendship and love that got him down the stairs. Eventually, he made it. And it was time to put on the charm. Unfortunately for Ed, life tended to give him the gentlest vibe checks. And with life snickering in the back, Ed’s foot rolled off of a stray broccoli, sending him rolling down the stairs. He landed on his ass near to some other man with cat ears. It hurt. And when he tried to rub the pain on his bottom, he found his hand wouldn’t budge. Ah. It was stuck phasing through the stairs, and now he had watching eyes. Ed looked up, he couldn’t help it, he was still a very awkward boy no matter how he tried to ignore it, and so he shakily introduced himself.

“… Hi… I’m Ed.”

The girl in front of him was... amusing to say the least, it wasn't the first time that he had been given an odd glance or eyes based on his more stellar nature, but it had been a while since Orion had seen someone this (for a lack of better term) starstruck. His hand waving in front of their face for a moment after a few seconds of them staring had passed. His face slightly flushed the longer they had continued to stare across their form, a slight glow to their cheeks before he cleared his throat, trying to give a slight nudge out of their dazed state - which seemed was unneeded after another, more irritable student has brushed past the two. His eyes briefly looking over the crowded hallway as he moved a little closer to the wall, leaning against it as students went passed or had crowded along the hallway as they had, giving a little bit more berth for the passerbys.

"Oh. Uhhh. Hi."

He.. would raise an eyebrow, his entertainment visible across his face and in the inflection in his tone, chuckling a little as they fiddled with their hair. The clear awkwardness of snapping out of staring at a person at close proximity was not lost on him as he spoke up, "Hey there, glad to see you're out of it." a half-wave given in return as they continued to stutter through their words - seeming to try to find their ground - the Starborn just watching them move through their words.

"T-that is to say--"

Nova would seem to straighten himself out, 'sitting at attention' as the prism would give a small... nod, the head of humanoid shard bobbing its head before almost pridefully raising their it, looking down from the shoulder of the taller student as their gaze would meet with them - it's posture relaxing somewhat as Kannah's gaze met with Orion's again. The Starborn giving the gesture to continue, almost encouragingly, ribbons of light flowing from their fingertips at first before it faded away into the lighting of the academy. The amused smile on his lips relaxing into a small kind - albeit patient smile as they continued to go through the motions.

"Kannah, heir of House Syllis, a pleasure to meet you, Orion of House Callswater."

The sudden shift in tone caught Orion off guard, not exactly expecting the stutter to come to more of a practiced line, granted he was waiting for them to calm and snap themselves out of their stupor - just not expecting this off the bat. "A-ahm..." Seemingly his turn to stutter, shaking the surprise off before speaking up,"The... pleasure is mine Ms. Syllis. My... apologies for not really being able to bow in return out of fear that Nova will fall." His voice similarly rehearsed to a point, small pauses of recollection between his words, his eyes briefly drifted to the ceiling each time before they would nod in confirmation to themselves.

"So, Mr. Callswater, it sounds like we should begin making ourselves familiar with the academy grounds. Any place in particular you'd like to start?"

Orion would slowly nod as they spoke again, still seeming to get used to their formal speech, the lights across his skin briefly flaring as he raises a finger, in an 'aha' motion, the same ribbon of light following it as he speaks. "Let's go with th-, hm, Calderum Consortium then. But. If I may make a request before we go Ms. Syllis, let's stick to first names, feels a bit distant to call buddies by their family names now doesn't it Kannah. Also talking like this is real tiring!" After exclaiming the last part, letting out a small albeit awkward chuckle, rubbing the back of his moondust-colored hair.

Fae blushed, not too noticeably but enough her cheeks warmed and rosies slightly. It was so natural for her to speak to her sister and others she always forgot about outsiders. Stupid, Fae. Don't be stupid. Steadying herself with a huff of a sigh, she tried telepathically speaking again.

I am Fae Hartfield, it is nice to meet you Lia Daejun. I apologize for startling you but I am actually mute, however I can speak telepathically with others as I am with you right now. I'm only focusing into your mind though, other's cannot hear me although I suppose I could if I wanted. I typically don't want to or need to though.

Waiting for her buddy's reply, Fae dipped her head a little shyly. Her sheep horns glittered black under the lights as she did so and her contrastingly pale hair slipped forward a bit making her semi-rosy cheeks stand out a little bit more. She was generally embarrassed, and uncertain of how to handle herself with new people and new situations. Yet, here she was in the vast middle of a brand new and chaotic school with new people all around her. She was mortified to meet whoever she'd be roomies with. Hopefully whoever they were would be okay. Glancing up with her large doll-like, iridescent gems for eyes, she studied her new buddy closely. The glasses. The dark hair. The stoic seriousness. They seemed alike in that sense, yet drastically different in every way.

As for exploring the academy, we can. I don't exactly have money on me right now but if you would like to go, we can. We should consider trying to find our rooms and roomies sooner rather than later too, but why don't we go explore what kind of shops there are for now? I wouldn't mind getting a better idea of what this area is like in general. I've never been so far from home...

Avis had to leave the wooded camp in the dark of night to avoid the prying eyes of the others she had gathered. Her comrades had very decidedly opposed her decision to infiltrate Visian Academy and she knew they were the types to physically stop her if they must. After all she had recruited and trusted these people because of their personalities. So instead of setting out the afternoon before she waited until most and fallen asleep to sneak out. Luckily for her those who were keeping watch didn't see her dark figure soaring up through the canopy so she was able to avoid any unpleasantness. Hopefully they would accept her poorly scrawled note as an acceptable goodbye. Hopefully one of them would be able to read it.

The harpy flew through the night using the aid of her wind magic to maintain her highest speed and saw Visian Academy as her energy reserves ran out. Just as she had many times before she landed at her destination winded and hungry. Unfortunately she could tell the opening ceremony had already begun so she had no time to find a snack. She crept in to the auditorium and tried to avoid eye contact with the others hiding at the back before turning to look around the room not caring about the speech. She wanted to check if any of those winged beings were harpies but flying over would attract too much attention. Gurgle. Avis was quickly reminded that she had used a lot of energy but hadn't had a drink to replenish herself by a loud gurgling noise from her stomach. She was beginning the process of scanning the crowd for a light meal when she caught a snippet of the speech by mistake, it sounded like something about a buddy. After digging through her flight bag she found the student handbook and a crumpled picture inside it of someone called Jamo. He certainly looked human but she tried to hold out some hope that it might be a human looking non-human instead. At least then she could calm the ever strengthening vampiric hunger before it consumed more of her mind. As soon as people began to move she took flight and found a spot to hover. Soon she spotted this Jamo strangely standing and watching others leave so she flew towards him. Unfortunately his blood smelled a little too delicious and she fell out of the sky trying to cover her face with her wings. "Ugh, he's a blighted human! Of course he is."

Thus went her first meeting with one of the humans of Visian Academy. Falling out of the air before insulting them with drool leaking out of her mouth. Of course she didn't know about the drool or she would have felt even more ashamed than she already did for falling out of the sky. Even then, her shame was almost overwritten by how hungry she was starting to feel and how close she was to that human blood. It was likely making her paler than normal and eve more unsteady on her feet. Her little remaining reason telling her to move away and find a kind non-human to satiate her before she tried drinking from such a tainted meal.

Shiori listened passively to the Principal’s speech, his golden tail flicking a little in irritation, hoping it would end soon so at least he could go find Saren. He lost sight of her once they got on the school grounds and the crowd of new students and professors alike made it impossible for him to track her, overwhelming his sense of smell.
Gazing boredly around the auditorium, he tried to spot Saren with her long white hair, or maybe one of her fans waving about. He wanted to find her before the crowd could separate them again, but did not spot her.
Hearing that they would have “buddies” and roommates, he opened the little folder provided to him and looked at the pages for his buddy. Ironically, it was the human he lost when they came here, Saren Voltus. At least he did not have to introduce himself to someone new, except his roommate. He hoped they were not going to be a nuisance or be cross with him for being non-human. Some others seemed displeased with the dorm situation already as small cries of protest mingled with the more upbeat cheers of those excited to meet their roommates.
Standing up along with everyone else, his misfortune struck again when he was swept outside the auditorium by the crowd. Slipping away from it, he rested against the wall by the doors, planning on pulling Saren from the crowd as soon as he saw her.

The night before the opening ceremony a poor bear girl was having a breakdown in the kitchen. She had only just begun to realize just how much food such a large number of students could eat, and to make it worse, there were so many dietary restrictions. Despite her breakdown and the many half spoken complaints the sound of clattering soon filled the kitchen as she started the great amount of prep work that the cooking would require. It was only after everything was prepped that she began what would likely be the last normal night of sleep she woulg get for the next four years at least.

The school chef woke up bright and early so she could immediately turn on the time acceleration and get to work. She had four hours to get things ready but the acceleration had turned that into twenty hours. She initially planned to just make lunch and do the prep work for dinner but she soon got sidetracked trying to prepare snacks for any of the students that might be hungry after the ceremony. Unfortunately she got lost in her own thoughts about the snacks. Should she aim for one snack per person? What if the rich students are entitled and take them all? What if the non-humans are really hungry after not being able to afford meals? In the end she convinced herself to not only make lunch but what amounted to an entire buffet of snacks that she could leave out for students to eat if they visited the cafeteria.

Hyacinth was lost in her memories of the last night and this morning until a loud smacking sound and a quiet "Ouchies" called her attention back to the world. The sudden jerk back to reality still left her in a daze but she saw the strange man called Nekomancer lying on the floor in pain. Her instincts said to help him but before she actually got up things changed again and a nice cat girl was giving him broccoli. She unsteadily got up from her seat and nodded to herself content with the idea that broccoli would obviously make him feel better. Soon she was walking along the wall completely unaware of how pale and fatigued she looked. All she wanted was to get back to her kitchen for a nap before lunch but, alas, at her pace she was more likely to pass out on the wall somewhere in the hallway. As her focus started to fully slacken again she muttered to herself "Wait, does broccoli help with pain?"

Katarina's eyes widened at Winston's question. "Did he not pay attention to the speech at all?" Katarina thought. "How birdbrained is this guy?" Regaining her composure, she quickly replied. "We're supposed to explore the school together and locate our dorms." Stepping next to Winston, she held out her campus map in front of them. "According to the map," she quipped, pointing to a square on the parchment, "the auditorium is here. It appears the closest areas are the library and the gardens. Shall we visit the library first? I'm curious to see the selection of books offered." Not giving Winston a chance to respond, Katarina slid the map back in the packet and led the pair out of the auditorium.

Hastily walking down the corridor, Katarina had to remind herself to slow down as not to lose her buddy. While Katarina prided herself on being able to maintain a calm disposition, her love of books and knowledge tended to override that. Her mind was racing a mile a minute, and she couldn't get to the library fast enough. Still, she was rather intrigued by Winston. He seemed like a scatterbrained individual, but something about his carefree demeanor made her wonder if there was more to him. Clearing her throat, she turned to Winston, trying her best to be cordial. "Erm, nice weather we have today." She mentally scolded herself. "Kat, you idiot. Of all the things to say, you talk about the weather? How lame are you?" As if fate had smiled upon her and decided to save her from dying of embarrassment, they arrived at the library entrance. "This is it." Throwing open the doors, she rushed into the library, unintentionally leaving Winston in her tracks.

Katarina didn't know what she was expecting of the library, but the moment she entered, she knew it had exceeded all her expectations. She watched in amazement as the bookshelves floated around the enormous room, moving down aisles and up the long staircases. There were books as far as the eye could see. Katarina felt like a child in a candy store; it was like all of her dreams had suddenly come true. "Incredible," she gasped, her eyes lighting up at the sights. "I've never seen anything like this." She practically jogged to the nearest shelf, scanning the contents in wonder. "Look at this," Katarina called out to her companion. "These books have to be centuries old, yet they're in perfect condition." Turning a corner, she was startled to see what appeared to be two faculty members seated on a couch in a precarious position. Locking eyes with the duo, she suddenly felt very uncomfortable. "Are we... interrupting something?"

Her legs pounded against the earth, the familiar jolt sending her mind sky-high like nothing else could. The sting of life needed escaping, and she only knew one way. Aiden had dashed out of the halls with the form of a professional runner, looking only forward never backward. And she would not choke up, not here, not now. It was only the first day, and she had to have some dignity, right? So she swallowed all weakness down and powered through the overwhelming desire to scream and throw a full tantrum. She didn’t want to be here — of course, that was no secret. She spent the entire summer living between impromptu camps and random inns, dreading the school made for racial unity. Such a trash concept. She could’ve made it on the outside. A roaming mercenary, it was possible. Yet, she made it here only to be punished with a literal devil. What would she do? Swallow her pride and stoop so low that her nose would sniff the dirt? Never.

At her pace, it didn’t take long for the voices and cries of other students to fade and be replaced by a strong breeze. Aiden slowed to a leisurely walk as she reached the outside of a distinguished building. She was safe here from any disgusting creatures, where the autumn trees gave her solace, and the tall buildings enclosed her. She huffed and released a defeated sigh.

This is such shit. Fuck me. Why am I so unlucky?” She asked and tightened her fist. She could punch a puppy right now, and in some ways, wished she could. She would release her anger on anything- and I mean anything (there's an unnecessarily long list of innocent things that have suffered at the hands of Aiden's anger). Instead, woefully alone, she looked up).

The architecture of the building glistened and glowed in the sunlight, the clouds floated by as they always did, peacefully with grace, and the sky remained a cool blue. It was quiet, and it was calm. Yet Aiden only became more frustrated. No one cared if she had a problem. That was the reality of it. And the school, they’d soon enough kick her out if she didn’t play buddy buddy with her buddy. It was trouble brewing. Eventually, she knew, she would have to come around, but for now, she would tend to her headache. Student voices had reached her ears again, and the entire world did a spin. So Aiden tumbled through the closest doors she could find, and so, she found herself in the magical library of Visian Academy.

At first sight, Aiden is enamored by the magic in the room. It was an undeniable feat of design and expertise, in particular, it was the floating bookcases that got her in a way that flowers get a young girl giddy. She had years of being taught to be a demon of a human, albeit not to her understanding or opinion, but the part of her that was fascinated by her brother’s work within his own personal library remained. The library back home could not compare in the slightest, and the allure of it drew her in. And hey, this library was fresh from the stench of iron, and smelled nice (something like magical wood and incense to her senses).

Wandering around, soon enough, Aiden found two non-humans getting chummy with one another. A small girl with round ears, and a man who made Aiden shudder. She didn’t know why the man uneased her and didn’t question it beyond him being a nonhuman. Regardless of what it was, she kept her head straight as she passed them, looking for a place to bundle up and hide for the time being.

Aimi had one foot out the door when a sudden commotion stopped her in her tracks. Her sensitive ears picked up many details: A yelp of panic, followed by several distinct thuds of a body falling and the shouts of a few concerned people behind her. "What in the...?" She murmured to herself, and turned around to behold a peculiar scene. The auditorium which had been filled with the ruckus of students looking for their partners only mere moments ago had quieted and stilled, as every eye was drawn to a figure collapsed on the stairs.

Aimi immediately changed her course toward the individual, worried that whoever it was had gotten hurt and possibly needed help; and, glancing at the others huddled around, it didn't seem like anyone else was going to offer a hand. As Aimi drew closer to who she now realized was a human boy, something about him struck her as oddly familiar...

He hadn't shifted from his uncomfortable looking position, dark eyes widened in full-blown panic. His face was flushed red from his neck all the way to the tips of his ears, a detail that fascinated Aimi - she had never seen someone turn that red before. Was this an attribute of humans? As these thoughts ran through the Neko's mind, the human finally opened his mouth amidst the awkward silence.
".... Hi... I'm Ed..."

"Um...!" Aimi hurriedly crouched before this "Ed", her golden eyes narrowed in concern. "Are you all right? Do you need help getting up? Where does it hur-?" She threw these questions rapid fire at him, before abruptly stopping. The girl leaned forward, intently studying his face. "You look awfully familiar... wait just a minute!" She opened her packet to the picture of her buddy, and held it up next to the stranger for comparison. "A-ha! You're Eternal Darkness, aren't you?"

Momentarily forgetting that Ed had just suffered a fall, she grasped his free hand in between her own, her expression morphing into a bright smile. "Hello! I'm AImi Minamoto, your new buddy! Is your name really Eternal Darkness? Oh but you go by Ed, don't you! How old are you? What's your favorite color - mine's pink, by the way! What's your blood type! Oh, I'm so excited to get to know you!"

Meanwhile, Juni had scurried his way from his owner's shoulder to the top of her head, warily studying the human that had gotten Aimi so worked up. The pink creature noticed the boy's nervous expression, and then his other hand that was firmly encased in the concrete stair. Juni was amused - clearly he was no threat to anyone, much less Aimi. However, this Ed needed to know where he stood compared to his Master - and so Juni smiled widely at the boy, showing off his long, sharp teeth.

Scath smiled tentatively at Jaycee’s introduction. He was afraid that the other man would be...well… aggressive. Or, kind of hard to deal with. But Jaycee was acting very kindly. If, a bit energetic. ..Yeah, Scath knew he was going to have trouble keeping up with that. But, if he could put up with Anne and Evelynn, he could put up with Jaycee. ...Alright, that sounded like Scath didn’t like Jaycee. Scath didn’t dislike Jaycee, he was relieved that Jaycee was so friendly...

After mentally clearing that issue up, Scath realized that Jaycee had extended his hand- probably to shake his hand. Scath hastily reached out his own hand to grasp Jaycee’s, and as such, shook his hand. Theeen came Jaycee’s tirade of comments. Scath probably should have expected that, but it still surprised him. He flinched, before recovering.

While Scath was recovering from his surprise, Evelynn was practically preening herself at Jaycee’s compliments. She was chittering in Scath’s ear excitedly; Scath knew that she already liked Jaycee. It was just that… Scath hoped that Evelynn’s ego wouldn’t swell with this. He definitely didn’t want her strutting about… more so than she already did.

Putting that out of his mind, Scath idly responded to Jaycee’s comment about Evelynn: “She’s a handful; if you want a familiar, you do have to be careful about making sure you don’t annoy or displease them, else they can make your life a good deal harder. Just ask this little trouble-maker.” At that, he pointed to Evelynn. To which she huffed at Scath and flicked her tail at him.

Of course, Jaycee’s suggestions made him splutter and give off what could only be a strangled squeak at Jaycee’s suggestion of looking for girls. “Wh-what? W-wait, we just g-got here!” Scath managed to wheeze out. Evelynn, on the other hand, practically burst out in her very distinct laugh, clearly enjoying Scath’s bewilderment and embarrassment, and enjoying karma’s revenge on him.

Sarasota listened to the small beat that was his own footsteps echo off the hallway’s walls. The nice sound was interrupted by a second set of footsteps hurriedly chasing after the first. Sarasota was deep in his thoughts. How is this ever going to work? What else will I have to forgo? His mind mulled over the possible prospects that could go down while he attended Visian academy. Not one possible scenario ended in his favor. That wasn’t good. Perhaps……

His thoughts were cut off by a second pair of footsteps, and quickly followed was a voice right to his right shoulder. Afraid it was his buddy, or worse. He took a deep breath and calmed himself a little bit before answering. “Na, I just need a quick smoke, and I’ll be back in.” He tried to say nicely, but there was a hint of a tone there. It wasn’t until he actually looked at this being that he realized he might just be a human. This relaxed him quite a bit. Albeit not too much. He put his folder under his armpit, and held out his hand. “Nice to meet you Katarn, I’m Sarasota though you can call me Sara for short.” He said, extending his hand.

The eerily quiet hallway wouldn’t remain quiet for too much longer, as people would funnel out of the auditorium. The students would make their way going different ways, going about their own business. He personally couldn’t wait to get outside, clear his head, but it would seem that he would have to wait as someone else stopped the duo. This being was the furthest thing from a human as one could be.

Sarasota couldn’t help but study the creature in front of him. He had claws made to shred his enemies apart, teeth designed to rip through flesh, and even a sword as tall as the creature stood. This thing was made for combat. Though, His tone, and demeanor said the exact opposite. He seemed like a pacifist from it all, but Sarasota wasn’t too convinced.

The creature that stood in front of him wasn’t too much taller than Sarasota had stood. The creature identified itself as Evan. Sarasota’s mouth twitched in an attempt to turn his frown into a smile that never appeared. It would turn his frustrated frown into a more neutral expression. Sarasota studied the picture that was presented in front of him. “Well, at least your partner isn’t freakish looking.” He stated blankly, although he didn’t mean anything by the statement. In his eyes he didn’t say anything wrong. He turned to Katarn “Isn’t that the man who was buried by broccoli?”

"This feels so strange," thought the Felinis as he remained seated on his chair, awkwardly studying the growing group of students gathering inside the auditorium. His hazel eyes darted from one row of students to the next, and then the next, and the next once more, until his eyes stung from prolonged exposure to air. He couldn't help but feel his bare foot doing maddeningly quick taps against the smooth, wooden boards, or the sensation of his tail swishing anxiously behind him. He was sure that he appeared like an addict craving a quick fix to anyone in close proximity to himself, but it was an inconsolable feeling. Having so many humans around him made him feel so vulnerable, as if he was going to be stabbed in the back by a pro-human sympathizer. All of this agitated him. It wasn't like him to position himself in such an exposed manner... Second thoughts began creeping in. He was way in over his head, he monologues internally, believing just a few months earlier that this would be a great idea in order to give his father's ideologies a chance to become a reality. That this, the great Visian Academy, the spark that would ignite a peace between humans and nonhumans, would be the perfect place to test the nature of man in it's most controversial environment.

But... just what was this sensation? It wasn't truly fear that was making him jittery; he knew that no one would be foolish enough to do something now of all times. Evan didn't remember the last time he felt this way, not even during an uphill, losing battle. And then, before he was able to answer his own question, he sees the man rise towards the podium, and he feels his fur pointing at ends with every word that he speaks. Evan's movements cease entirely as he focuses on the figurehead of the faculty, the Principal. Evan couldn't help but reveal a nervous grin, likely unnoticed in the sea of students before him. The speech, the Beastfolk recognized, had a perverse aura, one that was menacing, yet entailed a sense of just cause. Was he wrong about it? He couldn't tell. But the one thing that his instincts were telling him was that this audience— these students he would be sharing this academy with —were in summation, giving off a similar feeling. Human, inhuman; equity, and control. And more importantly, the test of strength between these two opposing forces; it wasn't fear, he realized, but a rush of excitement that was boiling his blood.

A wider grin than before reveals two rows of fangs, the entirety of his pride gleaming off of them. Or at least, for a second or two until his revelation is interrupted by the sound of scraping chairs, murmuring voices, and thudding footsteps. The speech had ended, and the other students were already on the move.

Evan snaps back into reality, focusing on the first item of his first day. "Oh right, something about a buddy and roommate," he says with a quick nod as he follows the crowd outside. Carefully, he opens the handbook and sifts over the texts. He strains his eyes at the words, not because he cannot see, but because he wasn't entirely literately capable. As someone who grew up in a nomadic tribe, he knew the basics of certain languages that his tribe had picked up along different routes. But usually, it was a few who were in charge of acting as scribes, while the rest focused on their own roles as providers and caretakers.

"Tac Yssup? What an interesting name," Evan mutters once he finally makes out the words right. Without much thought, he steps over a mound of green florets, hardly paying attention to what it was, or who was underneath, as he repeats the name once more in an attempt to memorize it. He scratches his head in disbelief, wondering how he would find his buddy in this crowd without sticking out, like that fellow jumping into the air, or the one shouting with a bright light overhead. His attention is diverted to the photo, eyeing the still of the man donned in black. Were those cat ears under his hood? It seems maybe he got lucky, landing a nonhuman cat friend to be roomies with.

He breaks out of his distracting thoughts and somehow finds he had ended up near the main entrance of the school. He looks around for a moment, noticing that the crowds had dispersed a bit in this location. Maybe it might be best to ask for help from some other students? After all, there was nothing wrong with helping each other out. Just then, while walking down the hall, he notices a human attempting to socialize with another, both seemingly around his age, though the blonde one looked a bit agitated as he walked with a cigarette in hand. But Evan's mentality was fixed on socializing, focusing on closing the gap in distance between himself and the humans.

"Hi, my name's Evan. Could I ask you two for a bit of help looking for my buddy?" he finally speaks, though a bit nervously. "His name is... 'Tac... Yssup?' He looks like this," he finishes while holding up his picture in the guidebook.

Katarn suppressed his loathing and gave a practiced smile. "Eh, yours looks better than mine. Mine's a little, ah, what's the term? 'Free spirited?', yeah, that's it. Little to free spirited for my tastes." He looked at Sarasota. He didn't look too happy. Good. He could leverage that. Drive a wedge between the student body. Not that there wasn't one, of course. This place was a powder keg of racial violence and underlying prejudices.

And the Order of the Broken Chalice would be happy to be the match that lit it.

Dren's eyes were slitted, and his body had relaxed to a state of pseudo slumber. If a few more seconds had passed without interruption, maybe it would have become real. Instead, Rosalina chose to make her presence known. The edges of her pleated blue skirt stood before him. The corner of Dren's mouth lifted as her words gently jabbed at him. "Only because of your new rules. I feel quite spiritually restricted, you know."

As the woman hesitated to answer Dren's original question, all the man could focus on was the space between her skirt and her thigh high socks, the absolute territory. Dren was weak to those black thigh highs of hers. If only she had moved an inch closer, it would have been a K.O. Despite always vowing to be a gentleman, Dren struggled against the urge to reach out and pull those supple thighs towards him. The utter of his last name ripped his gaze away for a brief moment. The dissatisfaction across his face showed, but he would address the issue later.

Rosalina's cynical view of the Principal's project came as a surprise to Dren. Hadn't she always been close to him? Perhaps she too had suffered a bleak and torturous past such as himself that led her to doubt humanity's benevolent intentions. Many non-humans had to endure similar afflictions. Turning his attention back to her godly thighs, she hit him with a riddle. One of which his ears fell deaf to for the most part. Dren's literary prowess was sorely lacking.

With a dismayed huff, Dren rose up, his figure towering over the 4'10 kuma. "I'm not sure about the answer, but I do know that empty holes fill my heart when you don't call me by my first name." Delicately lowering her book with his fingertips, Dren leaned down and narrowed the gap between their faces. "We are living together, after all. Aren't removing the formalities more appropriate?" Although the snake man felt the vibrations of approaching individuals, he carried on his antics without much concern as to who might see.

Resting against the wall, the fox demon was slowly getting impatient waiting for his buddy. He could only guess what Saren was doing, either gossiping or starting some kind of trouble. Not that he'd interfere for the most part, he didnt want to experience the wrath she put behind her fans.
Remaining by the auditorium entrance anyways, Shiori pricked sharply when someone stepped on his beautiful tail. Looking up to see who the culprit was, before he could say anything to brush off the incident, Shiori found he was suddenly eye level with the male as he threw himself to his knees and bowed profusely, sputtering nonsense Shiori could barely make out as something of a apology.

On the final bow from the elf, Shiori prickled again as the stranger not only touched his tail again, but shoved his face into his golden floof of tail. Effectively freaked out, Shiori's ears were pinned to his head as he stood to yank his tail away.

"Its..fine. Just don't do that again." Shiori dismissed as he made sure his tail was from the view of the elf, just in case he tried to smother himself again. Shiori didn't know if he'd be held responsible or not and didn't want to risk it. While he felt pride in his soft ears and tail, he did not wish for strangers to so carelessly touch them as he cautiously eyed the elf.

"Are you attempting to find your buddy? Or just waiting for them like me?" Shiori wondered. If Saren was going to take forever, at least he'd have someone to entertain him, even if they did touch his tail several times in the course of a few minutes.

The Principal had gotten through his speech and was ready to enjoy the ensuing but before he could get that chance a student had to point out Tac to him. Turning to face the ox demon he assumed a smile that was meant to be reassuring but very well could have been exasperated. "Oh, Asad, I'm sure you have misunderstood. Professor Yssup must simple be suffering fatigue from getting ready for the school year." It took effort not to turn and glare at the Nekomancer but he comforted himself by beginning to plan a lecture for the wayward professor. "Honestly, I don't see what is wrong with summoning broccoli though. Only the timing really seems off." Unfortunately he really didn't want to deal with the situation at hand and so decided to pass it on to the kind volunteer before him. "I do appreciate your concern though and encourage you to make sure the young lady and professor make it to Nurse Zinnia's office safely." With that he gestured toward the poor neko and the green mound beside her. He took this momentary distraction as a chance to vanish from the auditorium and return to the sanctuary of his office.

As he reappeared he was no longer in his military apparel instead choosing to where a more comfortable casual outfit. Pouring a cup of tea from the kettle he had prepared prior to the ceremony the Principal allowed his attention to wander the school grounds. There were students finding their buddies here and there around the auditorium which managed to attract his attention momentarily but in the end his attention wandered to the library. After the briefest glance he shook his head and recalled his attention to his tea and peace. "The academy should be fine for a moment. No need to watch every little detail of the children growing." The Principal had clearly decided to forgo his previous plan of staying in case anyone had questions.

Jaycee couldn't help but start to laugh as well. Scathrai's splutter and squeak as the man tried to get out his response was too much, add in the fact the little fox's laughter seemed to be infectious and Jaycee just couldn't hold it in. It was only a short one but it was a good one, hopefully his new buddy didn't take it the wrong way. "Good point. We will come back to that plan at a later date" Jaycee chuckled as he patted Scathrai on the shoulder. "Well why don't the three of us go and check out the school, maybe go and find our new room"... at least that is what Jaycee would have said if he hadn't been so rudely cut off when he opened his mouth to start the sentence. Is it that hard to let a guy finish talking to his new found some sort of non human friend with a mechanical fox familar?

Jaycee turned to see the source of the interruption, A sass filled girl who looked less then pleased and was now ripping into his new friend. Now did Scath actually need Jaycee to step in to defend him? Probably not. Did Jaycee even consider the possibility of not stepping in? Probably not. Who calls themselves a goddess anyway! Sure she was pretty but isn't that a bit much?! Either way, Jaycee turned to look at her "Oi, you with the really pretty eyes and hair. Don't you know its rude to interrupt someones conversation. Apologize for your own ill manners before you can expect to receive an apology from others." he said rather definitely. "Please and thank you" he quickly added the last part. Growing up around his sister and her friends he had learned from them to return sass with sass... lets just say this might not have been the right time to do that.

A crowd of humans and non-humans existing together in relative peace. It was an interesting sight to say the least, and perched up in the rafters as she was Shina had a perfect view of it all. There was almost too much to look at and as the Principal’s speech began the harpy found her gaze jumping from one person to the next, soon listening to his words in the periphery of her mind. Almost each and every one of them had something that sparkled under the auditoriums lights, some of the people themselves even were sparkling in the light! Those ones were obviously inhuman, along with all of the other interesting ones in the room.

The occasional flash of metal on the Principal’s uniform caught her attention again, quickly tuning back into his speech for the moment. “What you may not be aware of is that you have been assigned, roommates!” She was a little reluctant to the idea of sleeping inside all the time, or spending a lot of time inside in general, but sharing the space with another person didn’t make the idea sound any better. A soft sigh escaped from her as she took a moment to think, “Hm... maybe at some point I can find a place outside to sleep...” She had always felt more at home outdoors, but if her room had enough of a view she’d settle for that. A muted clap of thunder startled the musing harpy, her wings fluttering for a moment and barely catching herself from tumbling from her perch. The rest of the students were dispersing, and one of them was the one who had caused the sound. There was a moment as she watched the human hover in the air for a split second before returning to the ground. She knew she certainly could’ve plucked him from the air if she had wanted, instead shaking her head slightly to focus again. People were here to make friends! Maybe! And she’d try to do the same, at least after some touring around the campus.

After a small stretch she let herself fall from her perch, wings extended as she entered a steep dive above the human from before. Just before it was too late she kicked in an Updraft, giving him and his new group of friends hair a heavy tousling as she blew past them and out of the auditorium on the conjured current of wind. Her boosted flying pace let her rocket past any of the others in the hallway, soon enjoying the extra empty space. Even though it was a tight squeeze at first and she had a few close calls with a few of the taller students, she was managing to keep herself relatively stable for the time being. That amount of time being how long she had until she needed to turn down a different hallway. It was a simple turn right? Well... it would have been, if she had been paying enough attention. Her eye caught a flash of something shine through a nearby window and Shina could feel herself clip the edge of her wing on the wall as she turned the corner, immediately following it with a soft “Uh oh” before preparing herself for impact. She let her wings cushion her fall as she went tumbling and rolling across the hall curled up in a ball of limbs and feathers, eventually coming to rest against a doorframe. She uttered a quiet “Ouch...” soon uncurling and laying flat on her back. Whether she realized it or not Shina was lucky, having tumbled her way into the door of the infirmary and making quite the ruckus with her arrival.

Nekomancer
Nekomancer official face.png

Being sprawled out in all his glory, one might find themselves perturbed by the idea of auditioning to be the campus' new animal rug, but not this Nekomancer. When an opportunity arises, a wise man will take it, and if that opportunity is in the form of a neko stepping on your back, you most definitely take it. Nikiri's absent-mindedness wasn't what caused the accident, but rather Nekomancer's grasp, which eagerly coiled itself around the ankle of his next victim. With a cute "pri-kyah", she came to a tumble, allowing Nekomancer the view of a lifetime. Had he not spent all his brain processing power on burning Nikiri's figure into his retinas for all eternity, perhaps there may have been a chance for him to escape broccoli hell. Alas, he did not.

A storm of little green trees rained down on him before he was able to consider the possibility of scraping himself off the floor. The vegetable volley found its way everywhere, inside his hood, cloak, and even his unmentionables. The seemingly endless wave left him completely covered. This might have been the reason why a parade of people began stepping on him, each foot leaving a loving mark on his abused form. A feline paw, in particular, dug its way into his spine, a hushed crunch coming from the impact. Well, that can't be good, he imagined, laying defeated in a pile of broccoli, like the dirty whore boy he was. Shakily, he lifted himself, being met by the loving gaze of a goddess.

Was she, perchance, so in love with him that it caused her nose to bleed?! No luck in the world was able to compare with this outcome. Not only this, but she was using the excuse of going to the infirmary so that they were able to have some privacy together. Letting this chance slip away was the equivalent of sin. Taking her hand and cupping it within both of his own, he slid his touch over her skin, slathering her with his sweat. "Infirmary? Why not head back to my place and let me 'patch' you up-" he was going to continue, but for the third time, someone had fallen and bumped into him. In a jolt, he was launched forward, heading straight for Nikiri's chest.

Ah, so this is what true bliss is, huh? Gracefully, Tac fell, his arm yearningly stretching out for Nikiri's embrace. COME TO ME, MY SWEET. As he felt the tip of his finger graze fabric, he knew that nirvana was within reach. Then, without warning, he phased straight through her, elbow deep within her stomach before coming to a stop, now stuck inside of her. "Eh?" Sure, he always wanted to become one with a neko, but this was a bit extreme. How was he supposed to kill her and preserve her body properly if he was conjoined with it? Slowly turning, he bore a hole through the student that caused the ultimate cockblock. Clearing his throat, he attempted for their attention, not even noting the second cat deity that was speaking to him for the time being.

"Help."

Lia heard the voice in her head again, but learned that this was actually her buddy speaking telepathically to her. "So she's actually mute, but can talk to people via telepathy...very interesting, it seems like their are all types of people at this academy." Lia told herself. "You don't need to apologize to me Fae, you were merely communicating the best way you know how" Lia told Fae. Just from this inital encounter, Fae seemed to be a nice person to be around, but Lia couldn't say for certain, she had only known fae for a few minutes.

"
As for exploring the academy, we can. I don't exactly have money on me right now but if you would like to go, we can."

Lia frowned, it seemed Fae was out of her element, similar to Lia. Both of them were very far from home, and both seemed to feel like they didn't truly fit in. Lia had been told many times by others that she was very "stiff". She had yet to truly know what that meant, and she hoped that by coming to this academy, she could learn a thing or two, and become less "stiff". "
do not fret about having the funds to pay for items. I have more then enough money for both of us" Lia said. "Now, off we go, I believe I know where the Market place...Rather the "Calderum Consortium" is, so follow me" Lia said before walking off.

The pair arrived at the Calderum Consortium, and Lia marveled at the variety they had. They had items from far and wide, ranging from colerful clothing pieces, to necklaces made out of sea shells. "Perhaps I should contact mother, and get us a shop here...It would certainly benefit us" Lia muttered to herself. She turned towards Fae, "If you see anything you like, say so, and I'll buy it. Don't worry about paying me back" Lia said.

At his words, he saw a brief flash of something on Katarina's face before she showed him the campus map. "We're supposed to explore the school together and locate our dorms." He could tell that she didn't like him, probably because he didn't pay attention. "According to the map, the auditorium is here." As she talked, he grinned a little, because it was incredible how people treated you like a five-year-old when you gave the wrong first impression. Winston was fine with that. "It appears the closest areas are the library and the gardens. Shall we visit the library first? I'm curious to see the selection of books offered." She walked off towards the direction of the library.

He felt a little annoyed, wondering why Katarina would ask for his opinion and not waiting for it. But since she was already starting to walk and it was something he wanted to go to anyways, Winston followed without complaint.

She walked at a brisk pace, just faster than a walk but not fast enough to constitute running. At home, he would have just skipped since it was a good balance between the two, but here it would not be good if he did that. Instead, he matched her pace, trying to gauge how far away the library was and deciding if he would start research now or later. Besides him, Katarina said, "Erm, nice weather we have today."

Winston was tempted to fire back an insult, but he held his tongue since it would not be good to alienate his buddy. Instead, he just stayed silent. The silent awkwardness stretched on until finally, they arrived at the doors. Before he could open them, she had already pushed open the doors and ran past the threshold.

He stepped through and looked around in awe. Katarina had gone over to a bookshelf, while he just stood, mouth gaping.

Floating bookcases everywhere. Stairs and walkways were also everywhere. For a second, he felt daunted by the impossible task of documenting all of it down. There must have been thousands of books, hundreds of thousands of pages. It would be quite a feat to write it all down. Then he thought about it a bit. Winston didn't need to go through everything. He just needed to skim through the most important sections of knowledge.

Winston looked around once more, and ran over to a nearby bookshelf, skimming the titles. He found one titled with something about materials and elements. Carefully opening it, he scanned through the first few pages, noting how they felt firm and how the ink hadn't faded or smudged much at all. There must have been some kind of magic involved in preserving the books.

Katarina said some stuff, but he wasn't listening. Instead, he checked a few more books, each in good condition.

Finally, he stood up and looked around the library once more, catching a glimpse of two people who looked like staff members on a nearby couch. After debating a few seconds whether he should go introduce himself, he reasoned that if they wanted to talk they would come over themselves.

Location: Academy
Interacting with: Violetti Violetti [Everett]

It didn't take her long to find her buddy - or rather, how he found her. Given, she was floating above the student body so it wasn't a surprise that she was already seen. What was a surprise, however, was the feeling of being tugged down by her ankle and into the arms of her supposed buddy. Out of instinct, before he could even let go, her entire body phased through his hands, leaving only a chilly feeling. She floated away from him before stepping onto the ground, hands behind her back.

"Everett Adonis then." She responded in kind. The photo did manage to get his likeness very well. "Phantom. Poltergeist. The dead coming to life, whatever you call it." Her eyes regarded the knife with little more than mild interest. It didn't seem magical in any way, so it likely would just phase through if she timed it well enough. She doesn't prefer being intangible but it did have perks - like not dying a second time from accidents. Before she could respond to his query - or was it a threat - he had already moved past her. She could feel Kaida brushing against her leg, sensing the slightest bit of uneasiness from his master. It took a while to adjust to these kinds of people, a bit too fast paced. But if they were going to be partnered up for whatever activity, then she might as well get used to his presence. Hopefully, it would go much easier than she envisioned it to be. She turned and followed behind him.

"In a bit of a rush, aren't we?" She mused, thinking back to the map she had reviewed earlier. After a few seconds of following her seemingly confident partner, she had come to the grave realization that he was not heading in any particular direction of any of the locations of this academy. For a moment, she entertained the notion of simply allowing him to lead while getting utterly lost in the academy and making them spend more time in this little self-tour. It would certainly be entertaining and it wasn't like Erika had anything to do.

But alas, there were books to read and a roommate to meet and she'd rather not arrive late to the dorms. It would have been quite the tale to tell though.

Erika quickly strode forward to match his pace instead of lagging behind him and grabbed his wrist. "Perhaps we should stop by the garden first? I've heard that the queen's done quite a grand job on it." She urged, tugging once before letting go as she gestured to the pathway leading to it. "Peaceful. Perfect for thinking." Erika continued with a small hum as she began to walk towards the garden.
