All according to my Scenario
Blood Steams in the Cold

The Arctic Circle. Here, the air hits forty below on average in winter. Polar bears dwell near the seas, hunting for seals, but Odysseus Research Base is farther north. Here, only ice and sea lies below the base.

Here, it is two hundred miles to the nearest research base. Odysseus is designed to be moveable in the event of a need to explore a different region, but as winter sets in the base is shutting down. The base is composed of eight modules, including the Cafeteria, Storage, Laboratory, Power Generator, Rec Module, two Sleeping Quarters, and the Radio Module.

Ten people will inhabit this extreme environment, dwelling in the different modules and waiting out the darkness.

No help will arrive until spring, should it be needed.

Name: George Mitchell
Gender: Male
Personality:

You wanna know how I tick? Well, there isn't much to it so don't act disappointed when I tell ya. You see, I'm a man of simple wants and desires. You give me food, shelter and something to do...no problem. Take one of those away and you'll wish you were sorry! I don't care who you are. You don't mess with that! Oh, and another thing. I may get worked up sometimes, but that's because I'm passionate at heart. No, it's not a humble brag or whatever you were gonna say. It's just a simple fact that some people work harder and love deeper at the end of the day. I'll show you that a handshake means something. That the people who put their lives on the line didn't die for nothing! Okay...sorry, I get a little worked up!

Backstory:

You wanna know everything, don'tcha! At least you ain't one of those creepy fellas peeping out windows. Okay, I'll tell you a little story. This is a story about a guy named George, who grew up in a small town called Bethel, Maine. My parents owned a farm on the Androscoggin River, and that's where pops used to take me fishing. Later I thought, "What the hell? I like fishing so much. Why don't I join the Navy?" And so I did. That was back in uhhh...ninety-six? Ninety-seven? I did my six years with pleasure, and let me tell you something. Those were the best damn years of my entire life, because it teaches you skills you'll always carry with you...wherever you go.

Which leads us to the present time. Has it really been twenty years? Shit. All I know is they brought me on here at Oddyseus about three years back, telling me they could use a maintenance guy. I didn't really know what they meant at first. I maintained all kinds of stuff back in the Navy as a hull technician, but as it turned out, they needed me to fix the toilets. Yeah, you heard that right! "Hey George, toilet's jamming up again. Think you can do something about that, buddy?" So yeah, that's pretty much my job around here. It ain't glamorous but it pays the bills, and after a few more years I'll be able to retire early and get back to doing what I enjoy. Fishing!

Specialty: Maintenance
Age: 42
Other: George has some memorabilia around his bunk from his old Navy days. Pictures, pins, flags. He's real big on all that stuff and takes pride in it.

-- The Medic
Name: Arden Fong

Gender: Cis-gender Female

Specialty: Medical

Age: Twenty-six years old.

Personality:
A wild, humorous individual whose personality jumps out when comfortable around others. The young woman is dauntless, loud, boisterous, and incredibly forward. Hungry to improve her craft and work on others, Arden will stop at nothing to reach her goals of being a better medic than she already is. However, this determination can be her downfall; most of her focus may fall on her studies or on other individuals, often forgetting to take care of herself. And although she is intelligent, her humor could make one doubt that. Arden isn’t one to hold back on her crude humor and, in fact, embraces it. This may also land her into a lot of trouble, given that this crudeness can be unsavory to some. Around strangers, Arden is quite relaxed; not as loud or commanding. Rather, she's quiet and shy, opting to hide in the shadows. She does not trust easily, nor does she have the desire to. It is, however, obvious when Arden trusts someone, which is no easy feat. She is loyal and will do anything in her power to keep those she is close with safe. The woman can be overly generous, doing favors and such for those she deems as trustworthy.

Her nature can be welcoming to some, overwhelming to others, but she tends to grow on people. Arden would rather avoid conflict with others, especially in high-stress situations, acknowledging that fighting will get them nowhere. She values logic over irrationality, but this does not mean that she won't act out in anger or frustration. Unfortunately for her, the woman tends to bottle up her emotions for the sake of others, which can only be built up so much.

Backstory:
Arden didn't grow up privileged and wealthy. Her mother and father were immigrants from Hong Kong who knew little English, but moved to the U.S. for a better way of life; much to their dismay, it hadn't turned out how they'd planned. The pair had three children, each academically gifted, but with personalities that a far different from one another. They tried their best to raise the children, but had to take multiple jobs in order to support them, thus leaving the siblings to take care of each other. Arden didn't mind that, but her brothers weren't as understanding, which lead to many fights amongst the siblings.

Their upbringing wasn't extraordinary, but it was pitying. They were a lower-middle class family that worked hard to make ends meet, and eventually, Arden and her brothers had to go their separate ways. This compromised the relationship between her and her siblings tremendously.

Her parents, however, were proud. Each child went off to college with scholarships, but to Arden it felt competitive. She couldn't live up to her older brother, a man who'd attended the same university as her, but with a career at NASA. Nevertheless, Arden didn't let that keep her down. She worked hard and it paid off, landing her at the base as a medic, one of the first few jobs she'd taken after graduating college. She never liked hospitals, anyways.

Other:
Arden is an insomniac, which often leaves her with deep bags under her eyes.
She is lactose intolerant, but will still eat cheese and ice cream.
Arden has a few comic books laying under her bed.
