Wandering, but not lost

A young Viking woman responsible for her village's trade route wanders just a tad too far off the beaten path. Her and her trusty companion surrounded by the black eyes and sharp teeth of death. With 3 arrows left and a overwhelming sense of doom, she lets out a vicious war cry.
Her wounds bleeding and the air in her lungs becoming thin.
Her village and the other village send a small search party.
“He gently scoops her up and places her on the back of his steed. There was no telling if she would even make it but he knew he had to try. His large hand rested on her back ensuing she did not fall off on their way back to his village”
I’m okay with some supernatural elements and higher fantasy but I would like to keep it close to real as possible.
