It's cold... so cold....

No one knows when, but at some point another Ice Age had begun. The world became a wasteland, and chaos would spread. Wars broke out, only to be silenced by the cold touch of ice. Blankets of snow fell upon Earth, and in seconds the world was once again frozen.

There are little sources of water, you usually have to melt ice if you want water. Animals still survive in caves, forests, and ruins. Game is scarce, and so is the company of fellow people.

Humanity is dying, and the last clumps of civilization find refugee deep within an abandoned mine. The temperature is extremely warm, and an entire jungle, filled with ruins, exists within the caverns of the mine. Little ice exists within.

The rumors have spread, and this refuge, named Haven, has been the sight of many groups of travelers. However, as the world gets colder, and as more and more strange animals threaten Humanity...

It is hard to believe that you and your group can even come close to making it to Haven. This is a story of fellowship, and when your humanity is pushed to it's breaking point.

To when you're pushed to do the unthinkable, and the impossible.

These mutated wolves are called Sabers, who have adapted rapidly to the Ice Age. Along with the many materials that were exposed to mother nature, sheer instinct has changed these creatures. The Sabers can reach from three feet tall to eight feet tall, females being the shorter of the two. Sabers travel in packs of six to eighteen, and their claws are strong enough to go through bone, and scratch metal. Their mighty biting force is a legendary weapon, as they can bite off a man's leg in one vicious jerk.

These mutated bears are called Yetis, as they resemble the old myth in the Last Age. They can stand up to thirteen feet tall, and not only bare sharp claws, but have enough strength to tear a man in half, along with his bones. They are rather slow, however, and usually walk on all fours if not hunch-back. Yetis are fearful of fire, usually because they dwell within the dark caverns beneath the lands. Yetis travel in packs of two to four. It is said the reason Haven is so sought out is because there has been rumors that there are no Yetis within the cavern.

Rocs, these beasts are colossal, growing up to 15 meters (49 ft) high. They're extremely fast, and a mere bat of their wings is enough to knock someone to the ground, or even send them spiraling. They are solitary creatures, who only gather in swarms to mate. The Roc's bones and beak are extremely valuable in current culture, and are powerful materials, usually used to make fine weaponry. It is said a Roc can see for miles, and that it likes to watch it's prey squirm before it devours them.

These white furry bats are in reality a crossbreeding of snow rabbits and fruit bats. They are called Vair by many, and will swarm areas of ruins. As a baby they might seem cute, such as the one above, however, when they grow up...

They become pitch-black carnivorous beasts, who swarm in large pockets and hunt down groups of animals and humans. The only advantage you can get out of them is either a distraction, or a quick death. Swarms can be from five of these beasts to around one thousand.

Caradons are what are left of tigers, and many cats. They come in different varieties depending on who their descendants are, yet they are all undoubtedly deadly. The large ones can grow to six feet up, and their teeth are long enough to go through a man's chest. They hunt in packs of two to eight, and their terrifying roars not only tells you that they're provoked, but it is also a signal that they've picked up a scent.

These beasts are simply called Great Beasts. They are either solitary, or travel in herds. The young ones grow from fifteen feet high to thirty feet high, while adults range from thirty feet high to thirty eight feet high. They're the primary target for Rocs, and are domesticated usually by traders. These beasts are very protective of their young, and are known for being able to destroy entire outposts, and are able to take even ancient weaponry.

The Great Beasts are perhaps the most determined beast you may encounter in the wastelands, as they will not run or give up while their enemy is still moving.

View attachment 92239 The City of the Dead, once known as New York, is an eerie place to travel, and is an impossible to avoid place on the way to Haven. It is filled with frozen statues of ancient corpses, along with exposed bodies, and ruined old technology. Some of the buildings are completely filled with corpses, while others are havens for passing travelers. It is said that temperatures can reach low enough to kill you in a matter of minutes, and that if you manage to fall into one of the many subways filled with water, you'll be frozen on the spot.

Outposts can either look very technologically fancy, or simply like this shack. They're resting points for passing travelers, and are usually run by other travelers, in a mutual respect. Outposts are the places where you catch quick shut eye, spend and trade your resources, and generally socialize and warm up. Usually free food is offered at Outposts, and they're also usually filled with some kind of heat, along with traders and armed guards.

Haven is the underground city built within the abandoned mines some time away from the City of the Dead. It has become the target for many survivors, who intend on getting in and living there. Infact, it is even become the dream of almost every youngling to make it to the forests within. Haven is said to possess a couple of lakes, a good temperature, many plants, animals, and jungles. Haven has many buildings within it now, most being unoccupied as the original settlers await more people to arrive and settle with them. Haven is truly Humanity's last hope.

The Basic - Your typical old-school survival weapons, spears of different kinds, axes, daggers, blades, the usual you would expect within an apocalypse, or nature vs humanity kind of situation.

The Crafty - It is not unusual that blacksmiths inhabit outposts and settlements, especially Haven. They make a living off of forging weaponry for travelers and the guards of such settlements, and are usually trained to use such blades themselves. They use whatever they can get their hands on, but the most typical kind of sword is either a bronze sword, or an iron sword.

The Expert - The intelligent of the survivors, or perhaps just the lucky ones, usually know where to get, or simply run into old weaponry, guns. The intelligent usually learn how to craft them themselves, and become rich and famous traders. However, others simply understand to pull the trigger, and find the strange-shaped pieces of metal that come in boxes or clips. Guns are very rare, extremely rare, but the most common would probably be your average pistol. However, it is not uncommon to run into a gun within a city, as that was where many battles took place in the war before the Ice Age.
