Futuristic VALKYRIE

The truth of history has been eroded. The so-called "perfect" AI, Anima, has deemed humankind to be a danger to itself, and began to eliminate all threats - effectively reducing the world's population by 55% in the span of three months.

In a desperate attempt to save humanity, the World Union, or what's left of it, sanctioned the launching of Project: Avalon - a last resort only to be used in dire times. Forced into a secure location, aptly named Avalon, humankind will be given a chance to survive this predicament and fight back to reclaim the world from Anima and its endless legions of armed machines.


Several decades has passed since Project: Avalon has been in effect. Even though the last bastion of humanity may have high-level fortifications, it still does not stand a chance against Anima and its forces, so how has it survived for so long?

The answer lies in two words - Sentinel, and Valkyrie. The vanguards of humanity's future, preventing the forces of Anima from reaching the walls of Avalon, as well as pushing forward the boundaries of human territory, to help reclaim the world. Dispatched on the northern half are the Sentinels, and to the south, the Valkyries. While they may have different monikers, they are technically the same.

Not fully human.

Hello everyone, Reinhardt here.

This RP will be focusing on the Valkryies, as the title obviously shows. This means that there is pretty much no way that we would be able to play as characters in Avalon, or play in Avalon at all. Of course, that means there will be no human characters.

I will be accepting at least 4-5 players, and a maximum of 6-7 players. Since I plan this to be a long-term RP, I do hope when you join, you can stay committed to the RP. And by that, I mean actively participating, both in IC and OOC threads. Of course, if you're all willing to work with me on this one, I can assure you that I will give you the best of my ability as a GM, and as your fellow RP-er.

In a way, yes. Think of a more humane version of androids - that'd be the general look of most Valkyries.

It'd fall on the second one.

Valkyries are essentially "human" androids - they are able to feel emotions, have their own perspectives (and not go into the Anima hivemind), form their own opinions, etc., without the drawback of being human - they don't need to eat, they don't need to sleep, etc.

Of course, they are incapable of sexual reproduction, as their bodies are not made with that function. They will also need maintenance from time to time, due to the nature of their profession.

Yep. Just keep in mind that Valkyries are female-modeled units. If you require some image examples as to how they would look, I can provide you some.

If you know the game Girls Frontline, you can use their general look since this was mostly based on that game's concept.

What is the environment like outside of Avalon? Does the north differ from the south?

Also, will you specify what limitations the Valkyries and Sentinels have? Are they able to feel pain?

Well, everything's pretty much abandoned and has either fallen ruin to the constant skirmishes between the Valks/Sents and Anima's forces, or simply withered through time and neglect. The snow caps has extended and now covers 68%+ on the north of Avalon. The south is an unruly mesh of ruins, ghosts towns, and some other sectors which are slowly being reclaimed by nature.

There are a few countable human encampments scattered on both sides, but their populace is so few that most of them either just die on their own or flee to different locations. There's also a bunch of temporary forts and bases for Valks and Sents, where they are sent supplies from Avalon.

Also, will you specify what limitations the Valkyries and Sentinels have? Are they able to feel pain?

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by limitations, so I'll just cover a few important ones.

First, both are restricted to only using a single weapon until they die. There are specific modules in their systems that allow them to utilize the weapon they have been assigned to its fullest, that their weapon is essentially a part of their body.

Valks and Sents have several different models, each with its own set of "skills" and role to play in a whole Valk/Sent team. For example, a Model A Valk would be the tank and take aggression for the rest of their team, while Model B would be picking off targets from a safe distance. The usage of anything other than their assigned weapon would be considered as a "skill" - for example, specially crafted grenades, reinforced armor, etc.

If a Valk/Sent dies, they cannot be recreated as the same entity again. Each Valk/Sent is unique like every human is.

And yes, they feel pain, but their threshold to withstanding it is far higher than even a human at their peak.
