It's not me until I pull on a few heartstrings.
Arc One: Fall
Start of the School YearThe sun is shining brightly through the windows of the student dorms of Beacon Academy. The first day of school was here. After the trial and ceremony of the day before may of the new students crashed the instant they found their beds, some not even unpacking beforehand. Now the warming light of the morning sun has begun to awaken the sleeping students signaling the start of a new day. Early rising students have already gotten ready for the day, taking their time enjoying the morning. While other students are still deep asleep not wanting to be disturbed. However, soon all will need to be off to their first class of the day at 9 am.

[Currently 8:45 am. You can rp before that time, but that it the time to start heading to your first class. Weapons class is up first, taught by Professor Sharp.]

Robyn awoke before the sun and at seeing how much time she had before class decided to train for an hour, as she did so thoughts of her new teammates circled around her mind and she evaluated them. There was the Faunus Akashi who was also her partner, he seemed alright if not a tad bit excitable and obviously wanted to seem overconfident. How much of that was an act was still up for debate, then there were the other two. Orion was their leader, he came across cold and commanding and proud. The way the sister conducted herself made it seem that it might be a family issue, considering how Azure seemed to be so quite and detached did show that whatever was wrong went deep.

She finished the training and went back to the dorm, it was obvious that her whole team was hiding their own secrets and she hoped that they could continue for however many more years without them being violently brought to light. After taking a shower she got dressed and after checking the time decided that drinking a cup of coffee with a new book was an excellent decision.

After making a pot of coffee she went to the couch by a window and started to read while sipping the coffee. She silently waited for class to start and wondered if any of her teammates would wake up soon and found herself silently preparing what to say. Surely a simple greeting and good morning would work, though part of her wondered if she should head to class early.

He could feel the blade cut into his arm, separate bone from bone, and see the red of his blood stain the ground. He fell to the ground, clutching his stumped arm, and screamed in pain as blood flowed freely. He could see Azure getting lifted up, tortured, and attacked. With a defiant scream of rage, Orion Schnee summoned ice, and killed them all. Without a sound, Orion Schnee shot up from where he lay in his bed at Beacon Academy, sweat pouring down from his forehead. His arms and legs felt sticky from the perspiration that covered his body, and the blankets felt oddly constricting. Swinging out from where he lay, Orion looked at his left arm, currently made of ice and sighed. "Another damn night..." he muttered to himself.

Getting up, Orion got dressed in the Beacon Academy Uniform, something that didn't truly bother him, but more so the fact he was on a team with a Taurus of all people. He could handle the Branwen girl, but to be on the same team as a faunus was just disgusting. Orion, finished getting dressed, left his hair down as he walked to the mirror and stared at himself. His eyes held no spark of life, and his face was set in a even and monotonous way. Walking to the door, he picked up Broken Requiem and existed his room, and into the common grounds of the shared dorm.

Once entering the dorm commons, Orion was hit with the smell of coffee, the scent reminding him of better days. Looking to the source, Orion found a fresh pot made in the kitchen and the girl from before, Robyn Branwen, sitting on the couch reading. "Morning..." he said as he made his way to the kitchen. He ignored the coffee in favor of a banana as he looked the at the Branwen girl. This was his teammate, and he knew for the next four years, he would have to get along with her, and with the faunus too. At least he had Azure on his team...

Akashi had been up for a while, unpacking the many aspects of his life. Finally, he had put up the tools for his bullet making up, where he worked on his latest project up until now. Once he joined beacon he knew he was going to meet a Grimm even he couldn't beat. So he made a last resort. A golden bullet, engraved with his name and emblem, for himself. Monty knows Akashi wasn't going to die by Grimm. But now he was tired, so he laid it to rest for now.

After dressing up in the school uniform, Akashi slipped both his pistols into the holsters hidden under his dress shirt. He wasn't going without at least a little protection. But why go at all? The first day was always just rules and procedures. Why not just stay in and sleep? No, he couldn't. But he could.....No, it was weapons class, bound to be his favorite" He would go, but he'd be tired.

Now, remainedthe fun part. He knew the Schnees were going to hate him, so of course he'd focus his antics on them. His partner was different however. He had no idea how to get her angry at all. She was just too calm. But no matter, he'd get his fun, even if he had to look outside his team for it. He remained in his room for now, but he heard his team begin to stir. The fun was about to begin.

As with pretty much every night, Azure once more found herself unable to find a peaceful sleep. Most often this was caused by her anxiety, the dread she felt at spending another day in her ancestral home robbing her of all rest. If she was less fortunate it was the nightmares, stained with images of blood, the screams of innocent lives being lost and the horrific feeling of steel biting into her flesh. Yet this was not what plagued her the night before her first day at Beacon. It was something that the Schnee Heiress hadn't felt for years, hope. Hope that the chance for a new lease on life was finally beginning, that she was at a place where she could finally heal.

That terrified her more than anything. For so long she survived, and it was something she became good at. She knew how to keep others at a distance, how to maintain an icy exterior that would drive away any that would seek to become close to the young Dust wielder. And now that she was in a place where she could let go of all of that, well, she wasn't sure she could. What if this dream for a new life was little more than that, a dream? What if she was still used, still left broken? That thought terrified her more than all the years of isolation or physical pain she had endured.

So it was that Azure spent most of the long night tossing and turning in her bed, thoughts of everything that could go wrong consuming her until she was unable to bear it. The shattered moon was still prominent in the sky when Azure decided to head out of the room, making her way up to the roof where she perched herself on a ledge. Taking a deep breath of the crisp air, she began her meditations. All the worries and fears in her cluttered mind seeped away for a moment as Azure focused on everything around her. The kiss of the chilled air against her pale skin, the gentle cooing of morning birds slowly stirring from their nests, this is what Azure focused on, letting herself drift away in the peaceful surroundings. This more than anything was what kept Azure's insanity intact, as it allowed her to find some semblance of peace and renew her resolve. Moreover, it was a time when she could focus on strengthening her will power, reaching down into her very Essence to find new fonts of strength. By the time her sapphire eye opened again the sun was beginning to peak, and she felt as ready as she was ever going to be.

Making her way downstairs, she went back to the dorm room and began showering, a process that took her notably longer than any of her other teammates. As much as she resented her upbringing, Azure still held a taste for high fashion and always ensured that her appearance was nothing but magnificent. Finally getting dressed in her white and blue Huntress dress, Azure opened her dresser drawer, pulling out an ornate box lined with silver, her emblem emblazoned atop it. Using the key she kept on her necklace, she unlocked the box and opened it, unveiling a pair of ice blue lace gloves. Upon first glance they seemed like nothing special and one would wonder why the Schnee would bother to lock such an item away, but a closer look would reveal the faintest glimmers of dust that were laced throughout the gloves. They were her Arkan Berühren, and the ghost of a smile plated on her lips as she slipped them on.

As she exited her room, that smile was gone, her lips pressed into a thin line as she made her way into the kitchen, her shining sapphire eye holding an almost empty quality to it. Pouring herself a large cup of coffee, Azure took a deep sip of the invigorating, bitter liquid before going about preparing breakfast for herself and her brother. Ever since they had abandoned their home, the two had struggled for a bit to learn the basic functions of living independently. Azure took a small bit of pride in the fact that she had become a decent cook in that time, able to prepare a meal that was at the worst edible.

By the time she was finished, Azure was left with two plates of scrambled eggs, an good source of protein that should see them both through the morning. While her face remained expressionless, the smallest glint of happiness shined in her eye when she saw her brother Orion. He had been the one constant in her life, and she had been beyond relieved when she not only ended up as partners with him, but he became leader as well. Which was a good thing to, because the only other person she'd trust with her life was herself. "Brother." She said in greeting, her voice little more than a phantoms whisper before she went to the table and began eating herself. It was at this point she realized one of her other teammates was in the room with them. Robyn Branwen sat on the couch nearby them, sipping tea as she read her book. She seemed a competent enough warrior, but the heiress hadn't formed any opinion on her one way or the other yet. Azure's gaze lingered on her for a moment as she watched her teammate, taking note that she was without breakfast. Suppose I'll need to prepare something for her as well. Can hardly to expect one to perform optimally on an empty stomach.

The only teammate that remained missing was the one that presented the greatest concern to Azure. Akashi. The fact that he was a Faunus was bad enough, Azure's stomach twisting into a knot every time she was near one. But to discover that he was the son of the infamous Adam Taurus, she nearly attempted to murder him right during their initiation. The only thing that stayed her hand was the knowledge that she would be kicked out of Beacon and sent back home, and that was the best case scenario. How the son of a man who led a terrorist organization got into Beacon Academy was beyond her. How am I to entrust my life to this team when one of them may very well end up trying to take it? Letting out an agitated sigh, Azure began to clean up her mess so they could leave for class.

"I see the viper still sleeps." A small hint of venom could be heard in her voice as she spoke, though one wouldn't have been able to tell from the blank expression on Azure's face. Perhaps if I'm lucky he won't wake up.

When Orion heard the telltale signs of his sister stirring awake, Orion looked over to watch her prepare her breakfast. When she cooked, he could detect the smallest traces of life and energy wafting off her. He let a small internal chuckle sound as he saw her cook. He watched her sit down and eat her eggs, a routine he had become very familiar with when they lived on their own, before Beacon started. They had rented a small apartment in the city of Vale and lived there for about a month and a half. They lived there, working, sleeping, and training to perfect themselves before they left for Beacon. They still do own the apartment, but now it is just a get away in case the the life of Beacon became too much to handle.

Orion gripped the handle of Broken Requiem in one hand and threw the finished banana peel out with the other. He seemingly did not care whether Akashi woke up or not, choosing to let the faunus do what he must, but if he interfered with their lives in anyway that was unbecoming of a teammate, Orion would not hold back anything.

Walking over to the other couch across from Robyn, Orion sat down and pulled out his scroll. Checking the time on his scroll, then the time on the clock, Orion knew they had about 15 minutes before class started. He checked his scroll once more, scrolling through emails, news articles, texts, and any other things he missed when he was asleep. Noticing one particular email, he opened it and was revealed to see an email from Klein, the family’s eldest butler. He was an endearing old man, one who Orion didn’t spend much time with. Reading the contents he was relieved to see a shipment of Dust was headed to their apartment. Of course, the only person who knew of such a place was Klein.

“We have 15 minutes.” Orion mumbled out as he stood and walked back into his dorm. He gathered everything he needed for class before walking back out into the commons. “Someone wake the faun- I mean Akashi up. I don’t want to be late for the first day of classes.” he said as he stood with a backpack slung over one shoulder.

Robyn nodded at the seemingly cold man, "good morning." It didn't' take much looking to see that he hadn't slept right, but Robyn wasn't going to question him on why. Instead she sipped her coffee and when the other Schnee sibling came in offered the same greeting, "good morning." Robyn could tell Azure hadn't slept well either and wondered if her team would fail because of sleep depredation, she had seen it happen before and currently they were on the same track.

She could smell the eggs being cooked and realized she was hungry, so standing up she swiftly moved to the kitchen to grab an apple. However this close to people typically prompted some sort of conversation so she awkwardly said, "eggs are an essintl protein, it's wise to eat them this early to give fuel for the rest of the day."

With that she carried the apple to her couch and ate it while skimming through the book. At the 15 minute warning Robyn stood, "I shall do it." She walked over to Akashi's door and knocked three times.

Akashi had literally just finished combing his hair when a knock came to his door. 'I guess they want to leave now.' He concluded as h opened the door while straightening his tie."Good morning Robyn. Hope you slept well." He greeted to his shorter partner. He glanced up to peek at the siblings in their supposed glory. He was not awestruck. I mean, sure, they were attractive, especially the girl; Azure, was it? But they just seemed like angry old guys. For a sixteen year old, 18 was a long time in his eyes. Angry old guys are easy to mess with. Akashi walked out and stretched, yawning as he silently declared he was ready to go.

The viper faunus was sure they hated him with all their heart. After all, not only was he a faunus, but he was the son and heir to a man and organization that has destroyed many aspects of their business and lives. No matter, he likes it that way. Not only did it ensure they kept their distance, but it made it all the easier to agitate. He could tell that he was going to have fun these next 4 years.

Robyn was relieved she wouldn't have to physically wake him and nodded. "Good morning, I slept fine. How did you sleep?" He looked well enough and Robyn briefly thought how different he looked with a tie and nicer clothes on. "You look well."

It was an odd thing to say, but it was something a partner would say to the other in her mind. She caught him glancing back at the pair and raised an eyebrow. "Do be careful. Oh and class is soon, we should leave soon."

With that she turned and after grabbing Krahe and her backpack was waiting by the door. She was interested in this class, having minimal experience with complex weapons and wanted to learn about them.

Orion walked out of the door, following Robyn. He barely spared Akashi a glance as he made his way down the hall. Strapped to his hip was Broken Requiem like always. He watched the world pass by through the windows of the hallway. He could see other students walking by as well, pointing and whispering about a 'son of a legend' was in there school. He hated those looks, he hated the stares, and most of all he hated that word: Legend. Orion merely ignored them, or tried as best he could to ignore them.

Making his way to class with his backpack, Orion noticed one of two things, one, he was surprisingly tall compared to everyone else. Everyone was shorter by a few inches or a whole foot. He knew he was tall, but this was just ridiculous. The other thing he did not notice was the fact that he was getting odd stares as well due to his hair. I mean, light blue was an unnatural color to begin with, but the streaks of blue just made it worse. "You can do it Orion, just stay calm..." he whispered to himself.

Robyn knew that she was being stared at, could hear the hushed whispers as people talked about her eyes. She had always found that being smaller was optimal because it made hiding easier, now she was glad it let her slip through the hallway. "Didn't she get paired up with the Schnee siblings?" This did catch her attention and she slowed slightly, "why the hell would a creepy looking girl like her get paired up with them." Robyn wondered briefly how people could never seem to find new adjectives to describe her, creepy and weird were used so commonly surely there must be more words. "Is it just me or does she remind you of a Grimm?" She heard another gasp, "Oh wow you're totally right." Soon the hallway was filled with various people whispering how much of a Grimm she resembled.

Eventually she made it to class and sat behind Orion and started to flip through her book once again, she had heard worse insults from people she had once cared about. When in class it seemed that people were torn on who to whisper about, Orion or the strange Grimm girl. She sipped tea from her thermos and quietly glanced around the room, silently waiting for someone to arrive.

Orion sat down near the back of the room and laid his head down on the desk he sat at. He shrugged off his backpack and put it on the floor between his feet. He looked up for a quick second and saw everyone staring at both him and Robyn. With a feral growl unbecoming of the heir to the Schnee Dust Company, he sent them all back to their own devices before he rested his head back down. He could hear the whispers chattering about his arm, the one made of ice. They were questioning how he got it, and why he had an arm made of ice. He didn't care anymore. He just wanted to go back to sleep and forget everything that had happened so far today. "Just let me sleep until the teacher gets hear." he growled out towards the class.

Fortunately the class heard him and left him to his sleep. He closed his eyes and let sleep overtake him again. He didn't understand where he was, but it was light out, he wasn't in Vale. He was in the forest and he could hear the sounds of laughter and blades cutting flesh. He looked around and saw a cave. Looking inside he saw people cutting up someone, laughing in sick fascination. He immediately bolted up in a cold sweat before he could make out who the person was. Shaking his head, he placed his head back in his hands.

Azure gave a small nod of recognition when her brother stated when class was, putting away the last of the plates before getting her school supplies together. Weapons class with Professor Sharp if she recalled correctly was her teams first class, which for her was about the most useless class she could ever hope to take. Gloves required no ammunition or whet stone, didn't need to make any modifications. All she needed were her gloves and a few vials of Dust, and she could create a maelstrom of elemental destruction. Alright, it wasn't necessarily a maelstrom, but she had ended her fair share of lives with it... Hmm, that doesn't sound like a good thing now that I think about it.

When Robyn spoke to her she nearly leapt out of her own skin, though her impassive look remained and she was shook out of her dark thoughts. Apparently the raven haired girl held similar sentiments about eggs and their nutritional value. At the very least the girl knew about a proper breakfast. Though how she was supposed to respond to that, she wasn't sure. "An excellent start to the day for certain." Not necessarily the most stimulating conversation, but she had talked to her. Surely that was a good sign.

Finishing collecting her supplies, Azure was unfortunately unable to get out of the room before the last of her teammates emerged. The Viper. Azure could feel her skin tingle when he looked at her, revulsion and anger flowing through her, a flicker of red shining in her eye for but a moment before it returned to its passive, sapphire state. "Snake." Was the only greeting she offered him before exiting the room after her fellow teammates.

As she made her way through the halls however, it felt as though a thousand eyes were upon her. "Isn't that the heiress?" "What's with the sash?" "Tch, bet she got in cause of her mom?" Whispers, gossip, talking behind her back. Perhaps Beacon wasn't exactly the fresh start she had been searching for after wall. None dared to talk to her though, treat her as they would any other person. No, no she was a Schnee, daughter of the living legend Weiss, partner of Ruby Rose. That was all they saw, it was all anyone ever saw. There was no Azure to them. Only an heiress.

Upon entering the classroom, she was pleased to find it deathly quiet, even her entrance warranting only shocked looks and hushed whispers at best instead of the uproar she had expected. Well thank Dust for that. Moving to the back of the classroom, she took a seat near her brother and Robyn, an agitated breath escaping her pale lips as sparks of red danced in her eye.

"Surrounded by morons and ingrates. Little has changed."

Professor Larimar Sharp - Weapons Instructor
Location: Weapons Class
Nearby: First Years
@tag: rubycats rubycats The Prophet The Prophet xAlter xAlter Keidivh Keidivh

Larimar came out of the back room he used as his office away from home and looked about his classroom. First years were always the students he likes to teach, it allowed him some time to teach them the wonders of creating their weapons. As soon as he looked down at his pocket watch his wife gave him and announced, "Take your seats and settle down. Class starts..." he paused and as soon as the bell rang he continued, "Now." Always punctual and ready, Sharp closed the door and made he made his way to his desk. He waited for the students to take their seats and a bit more before he even began to address the class again.

His blue eyes were ever cold as he took in every information that he can see. With a sigh, he combed his fingers through his shocking white hair, and he walked around his desk, standing in front of it.
"You might all think you are hot shots with the weapons you have. Like you Mr. Tuarus, I can see you have opted out of leaving your weapon in your locker, from the looks of your pistols. But I am not here to inform you of the weapon rules during class, I am here to teach you all how to improve your weapons, maybe even help you create new ones to add to your arsenal," Sharp's voice was soothing, almost melodic as he spoke, but packed a punch in several letters.

His face showed no emotion as he continued,
"Now that said, I recommend you all carry your weapons to this class, for I want to see what you all have. Your weapon speaks for you here. Not your actions or first impressions," he looked around the class before continuing, "Not your words or semblance. For your weapon can tell me the way you hold yourself in a fight and your style of fighting. You might know all of that already, but I can help you improve what is already a known knowledge. It will make you faster, stronger and smarter when you use your weapon."

Sharp walked behind his desk once more and pulled down a screen, as a diagram was shown of his smallest weapon and all of its mechanical pieces.
"Do any of you know how to take your weapons apart and putting it back together? If that is possible with your weapon." He didn't look at any of the students that raised their hands as he continued, "I know many of you created your weapons, but do you all think you can take your partner's weapons apart without help? Or do you think you can wield them? There will be a time where you might not have your weapon and your partner's down, with only having their weapon. So, can someone put this gun together with only following this diagram?"

Sharp finally looked up to his students, taking out a box of his first prototype of his pistol, Pepperbox. He also took out his holstered pistol from under his blue well-tailored trench coat and placed that on the desk as well.
"How about..." he looked at every single student before him and pointed at the brunette with green eyes, "You, Miss Branwen, come on down and show us what you can do to recreate my pistol. Do not fret, for this is just a simple test to show me what you know."

Robyn was a little surprised about how the teacher looked but when he began speaking she paid attention to his words. When he talked about people's weapons her hand Immeaditly went to Krahe's hilt and she tried not to feel anything as he talked about how it was an extension of ones self. She could agree with him on some counts, Krahe was far more than a weapon or even a treasure. Krahe was her family and her only connection to her mother other then her name, it didn't matter that it couldn't turn into some flashy gun it was far more than that to Robyn.

Her musings were cut short when Professor Sharp called on her and she wondered briefly if he somehow knew about the fake transcripts and was testing her, regardless she stood and calmly walked to the front of the class. Some of the students seemed to shy away from her but Robyn kept her head high, when she was standing by the Professor she felt all eyes on her. She stared at the parts before finally moving, she had put together crude weapons before and when she was done there were parts left over. However the gun would still work, not as well as it would had all the pieces been added but Robyn only knew the basics. She handed him the weapon, "It may look different, but it will work. I apologize for the amount of time taken, but I have almost always worked with blades."

Larimar Sharp watched patiently as Robyn worked on the prototype. Keeping track of both her steps and his he found that she was doing okay for her first time. Interetsing, he thought to himself, but can it go off, that is the question... As Robyn put the last piece in place and announced that she was finished, he looked at the other remaining pieces and wondered if it would go off like he planned. The gun went off with a blank, instead of the confetti he planned to announced her success, but didn't mind it at all. In the end, it worked."It's a great start. Not many can work a gun, but it's always a good idea to know every weapon. Especially their weakness. You may take a seat now Miss Branwen." he congratulated her.

"Now," he began to clear out his desk, Holstering his actual gun and placing the prototype gun back into the box, then he continued, "Let's go over somethings. Yes, you all might already know all of this, but what I'm about to talk about will come up as we continue throughout the school year. Let's begin with weapon styles and see where we get through after that." Sharp turned his back to the class as he pulled up the diagram to reveal the chalkboard once more and began to write keynote on it. His voice carried throughout the class, even when he wasn't facing them.

Upon seeing her weapons teacher, Azure was somewhat surprised by his looks. Rather than some gruff, grease covered weapon smith, she saw before her a well put together gentleman, intelligent, authoritative. Perhaps this class wasn't as hopeless as she thought it first would be. Granted, she still had absolutely no interest in firearms or blades, but she could appreciate the necessity for being familiar with all manner of weaponry. While Azure was almost never without her precious gloves, she had to consider she'd be in a situation where she'd be forced to fight with less... Elegant equipment.

Thankfully she was spared the 'honor' of working on the Professor's pistol, though an uncomfortable looking Robyn wasn't given that mercy. Despite being caught completely out of her element however, her eyed teammate managed to not only keep her composure but successfully reassemble the gun. An impressive feat. Between the eggs comment and this, Robyn was quickly proving herself to be a competent teammate. The question of whether or not she was trustworthy however was of greater concern.

With this little exercise done, Professor Sharp began diving weapons diagrams. Running a hand through her silky hair, Azure prepared for a long, boring first period.

Robyn watched as the gun fired a blank and noted that the professor looked slightly surprised, but he congratulated her and she gave him a small smile before nodding and going back to her seat. Once again eyes followed her but when he began lecturing they turned back to the Sharp when he began lecturing, she took out a notebook and began writing down what he did. Her hand writing wasn't the neatest but it was legible and she would be able to read it again later, which was the most important. There were parts that she didn't quite get and there were times her thoughts wandered, she found her gaze drawn to the Schnee siblings in front of her.Azure seemed to be bored with this class and Robyn realized she might be one of the few people in the class that didn't make her own weapon, of course this would be a refresher course for most of these kids and Robyn felt slightly out of place. She took a sip from her thermos and pushed a lock of hair behind her ear before looking around the classroom before looking back towards the front.

Mood: generally happy.
Akashi was almost bouncing off the walls. As expected, the Schnee's hated him. This was going to make everyone everything soon much better. He followed the group though the hall, hands on the back of his head noting the reception his team was getting, as well as his own. "Cursed prince." One whispered to another " how was he let in this school?" "Royalty in all forms, both good and bad." Were among the many whispers he picked up. While he knew these weren't all positive, he wasn't sure how to feel about it. He wasn't sure at. All. So he simply bobbed his head to some imaginary music, and followed this chaotic team into class.

He had taken a seat away from the angry members of his team, so as to not ruin the perfect outburst. The thing about angry old guys is that when they get used to being around you, they stop being as mad all the time as they are annoyed.

Akashi was genuinely surprised the teacher saw his guns through so much. He had them in holsters under a dress shirt, and a coat over that. Making a mental note not to mess with teacher, he watched his partner successfully reassemble a pistol, despite her not have really used them. He slipped out Truth, the white handgun gleaming in the light. From what he saw, his guns were more complex then the pistol Robyn assembled. By this logic, this class would be easy. Still it never hurt to pay attention. So he pulled out a notebook and began taking notes in a elaborate, detailed, and neat manner. After all, he was careful when it came to weapons. They are as dangerous to the user as it is to the opponent.

Orion looked up from where his head was on the desk and acknowledged the teacher inside the room. He watched as Robyn was called down to the floor and center of the room. He watched the teacher, Professor Sharp, he learned, tell the class that weapon maintenance was an important asset to being a huntsman. Orion, of course, knew that being a huntsman and weapon maintenance went hand in hand. He watched as she built the handgun from all the parts on the table and fire of a blank. Orion also saw that Professor Sharp had singled out Akashi, even though his weapons were not visible to the outside world through his clothing. Once again, Orion looked at Broken Requiem.

Broken Requiem was his pride and joy, a seemingly shoddy weapon at best, Broken Requiem was actually a masterpiece of work. The weapon was acclaimed by even the best of weapon smiths when he showed them. It contained aspects of old fashioned dueling rapiers, but added a modern twist to the weapon. The rapier blade, still covered in blood stains that he just never cleaned, was able to split down the center all the way to the crossguard. The ornate crossguard housed two shotgun barrels that fired modified dust rounds. The trigger was housed on the handle as well.

Orion gripped Broken Requiem as he looked at the teacher now giving a lecture. Setting up his scroll, Orion set to record the audio so he could listen to it later Orion once more put his head down and tried to fall asleep in class, but his dreams were plagued with nightmares.

Sharp went over the basics, which yes they were essential, but they bored him extremely. Looking away from the board he finally faced his class once more, moving away from the hand-drawn image of a weapon the class came together to make. He had noticed a few heads down, but he didn't blame them. He would have been right there with them if he was a student once more. Sharp cleared his throat he called out to the class, "This is the weapon you have all decided to make. It's an extreme hybrid that you can make, but it's still a functional weapon. Which means you can all make a new weapon if you wish to do so. I am always free to talk about through with you individually. With that, the class is dismissed." The bell once more rang as soon as he ended the class. Really, it was just the same pattern as the previous two years he has been teaching at the beacon. "First years have Grimm history next. Unfortunately, Mr. Shamrock is not in due to research. So you have a free period until after lunch." he gave one final announcement. With that, he began to clean the board of the weapon plans he had thought out as the students added an idea to it.

(After lunch, segway to the next class but we will skip a few days. When you will be heading into the 2nd period.)

Robyn watched the Professor through the rest of class and when he told them about the absent professor she nodded and collected her notes, she wandered around campus for free period until it was time for lunch. Robyn took care to avoid highly populated areas and after a few minutes sat down and continued reading, when it was finally time to eat she calmly put the book away and made her way to the large room. Of course she heard the hushed whispers wherever she went and it seemed people were trying to spot one of her teammates, as if they traveled together.

Arriving in the Cafeteria she monotonously got her food and saw that she had beaten her teammates, something she was silently thankful for. Sitting down she almost smiled at how others scooted away from her but instead pulled out her book once more. It was lucky that she didn't have to make the choice on whether or not to sit with her teammates and had a feeling she knew what theirs would be. Not that she minded, as long as things stayed calm like this then there wouldn't be a bloodbath, something she was pretty sure was going to happen.

Akashi didn't seem to be one to be calm and she had a feeling that sooner or later he was going to try something, she silently vowed to merely go with it instead of making a scene. Though Robyn had a feeling neither Orion nor Azure would take that route. when it came time, her thoughts drifted to them and she let out a small chuckle. Out of everyone she could have been placed on a team with her's was the one with the most broken people.

Class went by painfully slowly as Professor Sharp went over some basic diagrams, though she tried to follow along as closely as possible. If she could make it through a eight hour ball in Atlas that consisted of little more than being shown off like some trophy horse, she could make it through this. Still, when the bell rang a small breath of relief left her lips as she went about collecting her notes. Apparently their next class was cancelled according to their professor, which struck the heiress as odd, but didn't bother asking about it. After such a riveting first class, I'm not sure my heart could handle any more excitement. Chuckling inwardly for a moment, Azure made her way out into the hallway, noticing that Robyn was making her way to the cafeteria. Almost instinctively, the heiress began walking towards her dorm room where she was sure she'd alone before stopping herself in her tracks.

Come on now, you aren't going to get any better if you spend all your time locked away in your room. A small inner conflict erupted in her mind as she simply stood in the middle of the hallways, earning her odd looks and whispers. They were little more than background noise to her at this point she was so accustomed to it. Finally overcoming her instinct to isolate herself, Azure turned about and began making her way towards the dining hall, trying to think of something to say to her teammate the entire way over. After gathering a small plate of fruits and a cup of coffee, Azure made her way towards Robyn. It wasn't difficult as all of the students nearby seemed to flee from her presence. That much was something they had in common. No one bothered to speak to either of them before they had cemented their opinions.

The scandalous looks and whispers she got as she took a seat next to her tea sipping teammate nearly brought a smile to her pale lips. Then she realized that she was sitting beside her teammate, and all of the things she had planned to say in greeting seemed to flee from her mind like a bunny from a Beowulf. What was she supposed to say now? The only thing she knew about her really was that they held similar views on eggs. Her mouth opened as if to say something, but no words emerged. So instead she simply ate some grapes, sapphire eye still indifferently observing her teammate. Hmm, well I'm sitting next to her at least. I'll consider that progress.

Robyn had heard the whispering grow in integrity and when she looked up she was silently surprised to see Azure on her way over. When the other girl sat beside her Robyn smiled at her in what she hoped was a warm manner. "Hello, thank you for the company. How did you like that last class?"

It was an awkward attempt at conversation but Robyn figured it was worth a try to at least attempt when the other had sat with her. While waiting for an answer she sipped some more tea and took a small bite out of her food. It wasn't the best but it was better than trash, though the green thing on the tray was a mystery and would not be trusted.

Hearing Robyn speak, Azure was surprised with how blunt and straightforward her statement was. No flattery, no meaningless compliments. It was rather refreshing. Why couldn't everyone speak in such a manner? Furthermore, why couldn't she? "No need for thanks Miss Robyn. We are teammates after all, it's only appropriate we hang." Her mouth fidgeted for a moment as the last word rolled off her tongue, feeling rather strange. She wasn't an idiot, she knew what hanging out was, but it wasn't something she ever really had the pleasure of experiencing. "You performed adequately repairing the gun. I felt someone should tell you that." As she spoke, Azure's eye color slowly shifted to a light shade of yellow, though her face remained impassive.

After that the two sat in what Azure hoped was a comfortable silence as she ate her fruit, taking a sip of coffee infrequently to keep her energy up. As she ate however she took note of Robyn's own food, the green, er, mass(?) on her plate thoroughly disturbing the heiress. Walking away to the lunch line, Azure shoved her way through nearby students, silencing any who spoke up with an icy, vicious glare.

When she returned, Azure picked up the plate containing the green mystery before promptly tossing it across the room, paying little attention to where it landed and placed a fresh garden salad before Robyn. "I'd prefer you not get food poisoning."
