Help Urgent question regarding accounts??

1. Can one user have two accounts (for example, Bob has an account for him, and then makes an account for his bro, Mike)?

2. Can a young(ish) child have an account if under the supervision of an older kid, teen, or adult? Like a "family account"?

I'm asking on behalf of a family member who would really like to join RPNation.

2. COPPA Laws - for us - require at least 13 years of age to be permitted access to the site as we do not meet requirements for content regarding under 13 audiences.

"COPPA imposes certain requirements on operators of websites or online services directed to children under 13 years of age, and on operators of other websites or online services that have actual knowledge that they are collecting personal information online from a child under 13 years of age."

So, even with 'consent', legally, the answer is no.

I thought that may be the case. Guess my family member will have to wait as they are under 13. I mean... I can't stop them from making their own account, but I can at least not make one for them.

Please keep in mind, if you are aware they have created an account and they lied about their age, you should notify the staff as we try to stay in compliance with the law. :3

They haven't made one. I was going to help them make one this afternoon, but since it's against the law, I'm not going to do that now. ^^'

Cool! Thanks. I had only asked about having a second account because I was thinking about said family member, but I don't want to get anyone in trouble, including myself, so I'm just gonna have to try to explain it to my family member when they come over later.
