disclaimers for anyone looking to rule me out as a partner:
only interested in fxf character-romance (any characters welcome for non-romance!)
not interested in faceclaims of real people (just takes me out of writing entirely)
flexible with length to an extent, but mostly a multi-paragraph roleplayer
if this is as far as you read, thank you for respecting my preferences and have a good day

Greetings!
If I posted on here more, I'd probably say I'm known for seeking out horror adjacent plots with a bit of slice of life and romance, but I don't post super often besides seeing if anyone has replied to past ads. I usually make a big mega mix of ideas, but realized I'm not actually always in the mood for everything I have on those so I'm trying to make some idea-specific ads focusing on singular prompts I'm currently seeking out.
This one happens to be a horror staple: vampires!
Although I have my fair share of exposure to vampire media ranging from trashy anime, to horror fiction and video games, to gothic cinema, I honestly do not actually have a specific source in mind I want to draw from for this which might be a deal breaker for writers who wanted a specific world, but I'm looking for something completely original. I enjoy borrowing from different vampire lore, leaving and taking whatever gives us our ideal vampire story, and would love to decide exactly how vampires work with an interested partner. Super open to whatever interests you most about vampire stories! If I have to crack open a lore book, so be it!
Here is what I do have in mind though: a city after dark full of nocturnal creatures and humans alike, a perfect place for vampires to blend in since no one will never know for sure if they are yet another insomniac or a true creature of the night.
I'm a huge fan of dreamy nighttime aesthetics and vampire stories often bring out the best of that setting, but focusing on a more modern vampire story would allow me to get the more specific "city that never sleeps" vibe I'm looking for. I want the setting to breathe - constant activity despite most of the population being asleep. I want it to bring out all sorts of people: some angsty and lost, some criminals, some working, some terribly evil. All of these people among bloodthirsty vampires. Red light districts, bars, 24/7 establishments, empty neon lit streets, dark alleys, abandoned spots, I want all of it!
I think this would be largely character and relationship focused, starting out slowburn, but with such a lively setting with plenty of possibility for conflict, I'm sure it could become much more than that and fall under a variety of genres.
As for how we write vampires and human roles, I like to leave that up to my partner.
My personal preference for vampires is having them be bloodthirsty and capable of hurting people, but fighting for their humanity among a variety of much more depraved monsters. My preference for humans is any character that feels a bit lost and out of place, wandering the night for reasons different than vampires, but similarly retreated from normal society.
But frankly, I care little about these preferences of mine and am way more excited about seeing how other people handle writing vampires, humans, and maybe other entities in this sort of setting. Might even try to spice it up myself by playing it a bit differently! I have plenty of ideas for characters, both vampires and humans alike though, and will happily discuss ideas and share writing samples with any interested roleplayers, though it's not a requirement that you reach out to me with anything except ideas and interest!
Please send a message to my inbox if this interests and let our discussion begin there!
