Hello everyone! This is a new idea that has distracted me from responding to my role plays on a usual schedule for the past couple of days, hahaha. It's got steampunk (which is no surprise to those of you who know me lol). I still haven't made a decision about whether I will get this off the ground and running. The idea is still in the early development stages. What I have for you today are snippets of concepts that I was interested in including in the lore and setting, which I have been doing research on so far.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions and knowledge to contribute to these subjects!

Dragon lore is primarily based off of themes observed in Japanese/ Chinese mythology.
Dragons were recognized as water deities. They were serpent-like and did not have wings as observed with dragons from European mythology. Some records show human sacrifices of various forms to the dragons. They even explain dragons as shapeshifters; dragons could disguise themselves as humans. Many stories connect them to royal bloodlines and the four realms of astrology. Military fleets often named themselves after these powerful creatures, which could be seen living in bodies of waters by dedicated temples and shrines. Japanese dragons notably have three claws on each foot. There are annual firework festivals to honor these mythical beasts.
