You can control one. You don't have to make a character sheet for him/her unless you want to. That'll be three killers. My female character, the original killer, and yours.

Lily is on the trail being terrorized by something she can't get a good look at, so she's heading up a different, slightly longer trail towards the cable car station, other than that, everything is correct.

You're not too far behind. Yet you can either have her get to the cable car or already be on the mountain by the cable car station on the other side. Like Jessica was in the game when Chris and Sam came out of the cable car.

Yes, you can either have your characters catch the small group before the cable car leaves, or they can already be up there, up to you.
