Away into the Night





Stars of Heaven came crashing down,


Flaming stones flicker and tumble all the way to the ground,


People flee left and right, scattered throughout the town,


Under the starry sky, I see the Angel frown,


In the distance, sirens scream and wail,


My face grows pale,


As I watch the world pass by,


I catch sight of the Angel fly,


Away into the night sky,


He disappeared without a single goodbye.

Set Me Free





Tick tock,


Goes the Clock,


As the days turn into night,


I tell myself I'll be alright,


Sleep never comes easy,


Leaving me queasy,


Through dawn,


I push on,


As friends stand beside,


I find myself decide,


Maybe it isn't so bad after all,


Even as I fall,


Down and down,


I hit the ground,


But you lift me,


And set me free.

Crushed Foil


Inside me, frustration boils


Leaving me like crushed foil


Clenched fists


As I make a list


of everything I hate


It’s too bad I’m too damn late


to let the foil unfold


And do as I’m told


But no


Fury fuels me, making me feel low


as a boat long since sunk


filled with junk


I don’t need, so let me be


angry as hot tea


Let me battle my own


And pay out my loan


to the Demon


With a gun


in hand, as I take my festering rage


in which the Demon rests, in the cage


Just under my heart


I hear Him criticizing my art


Oh well


I never liked Him much, so He can go to hell


where He belongs, out of sight


And leave me alone to rage in the night.
