The knight's attack caught Jesse completely by surprise allowing the improvised projectile to successfully hit its mark and firmly embed itself in his shoulder. Jesse let out a grunt in pain and stumbled backwards as he recoiled from the impact but the attack would do little to stop Jesse.

Looking down at the sword now lodged in his shoulder, he tightly gripped the handle of the weapon with one hand before violently pulling it out. Now armed with his opponent's weapon, Jesse advanced towards the hooded individual and, with the aim of bringing him alive strictly in mind, swung at him with the flat part of the blade.

Questioning why he threw his weapon, the knight was struck across the head with his own blade, falling back. He grabs onto a branch to catch himself before he could fall completely. He rips the branch off, holding it like a weapon. He backs away from the masked man, trying to think of a way to get his sword back. The knight tries to gun it for the man's back, in an attempt to thwack the back of his head with the branch.

Fleetway smashed into another rock formation. He slowly stands up again, seeing Raditz loom over the hedgehog. Raditz teleports out of sight, Fleetway hops out of the way as the Saiyan drops down where he once was, smashing the crater where he once was. He launches at Raditz, swinging his claws across Raditz chest, then punching his cheek. Raditz throws his leg up, kicking the hedgehog across the field. Fleetway then starts running around Raditz, but wasn't able to complete a full circle before Raditz simply flew in front, ramming his fist into Fleetway's mouth.

"What the hell?!" Fleetway yelled. "I'm the fastest thing alive, how the hell did you-"

Raditz grabbed the hedgehog by the mouth, looking him in the eye. "You're fast, but you're predictable." From his hand, he charges a ki blast, firing it point blank at Fleetway, launching into the side of the mountain.

Jesse's pilfered sword fell to his side and he stood there motionless, watching the knight with a combination of curiosity and bafflement as he brandished a branch in front of him like a makeshift weapon. His opponent, most likely aware of the futility of a frontal assault with the wooden weapon he currently wielded, quickly raced around and behind Jesse. The Killer of Killers wasn't exactly known for his speed so the knight's advance ensued unimpeded allowing him to club the back of Jesse's head repeatedly with the branch turned bludgeon. Jesse's head was thrown forward from the flurry of strikes but the attack seemed to amount to little more than an annoyance for him. Turning to face his assailant, the irritated Jesse glared at him before attempting to take the branch off of him so he could crush it in-between his fingers and remove the object from the fight.

As the Knight goes for a second swing, he could feel himself being stopped, the branch being clenched in the arms of the masked man. With no afterthought, the branch is crushed into mere splinters, causing the knight to fall on his hands. He looks up, and quickly dodge rolls toward his broadsword, grabbing it, and standing to face the masked man. He slowly backs away once again.

"You...You are not of ash.... And yet, I sense you are rather impossible to take down." His voice sounds aged, an ancient warrior from long ago. He awaits an answer, but knows he's not getting one. "I do not know if you can prosses my words, brute, but know this. He is the enemy. And as long as you stand in my way, you and your masters are my enemy."

He reaches behind, from his toolbelt he pulls a small bomb. He puts the fuse between two of his fingers, and yanks away as the fuse lights. He tosses it into the air, letting it explode between the two. He covers his eyes, and quickly runs the other direction.

"Ah, bollocks! They're thinning out! Pincer formation; both sides!" Jack instantly moved to level his two M7 SMGs to point at the encircling pincers; already beginning to backpedal and shift his attention to the encircling pincer formation on his left side, while Felix covered his right; still firing his grenade rifle over the heads of allies and straight into the reformed cluster of forces. Jack kept a watchful eye on the flyers, and immediately barked an order when he saw a strange gaseous mass begin to deploy from the clouds. "Three, Four, circle around and form up to fall back; keep the heat on those clouds before they get too close!"

Hailey brought her pistol to level at the clouds and began firing no more than two to three shots at each hostile. To compensate with Ellie at her flank and mirroring her encirclement perfectly, the other Spartan brought her MA5K carbine to level; already tapping the trigger in concentrated bursts of fully automatic fire aimed at the hostiles not already covered by Hailey. They stopped a few feet behind Jack and Felix; ensuring the other's spacing was well covered for as Ellie spoke up. "Three and Four, on your six!" The fireteam now linked up began to gradually, cohesively move backward to give themselves ample distance to avoid the ranged attacks while attempting to break the Pincer formations up as best as they could.

It seemed like the two front-liners of the squad had no choice but to slowly ease away from the safety of their boulder-cover, lest they remain sitting ducks for the encroaching enemies on either side. The noxious Cherbils and forceful Grwomebas they had been safe from earlier were now beginning to pelt their position with a small armada of fire...it was all but inevitable that one of them would be hit with gas or a dive-bomb attack.

...And, to make matters worse, the wall of bodies, despite the vicious onslaught of the two soldiers' superior firepower, had finally reached melee range. If left to their own devices, they would be a mere half-minute or less away from the pincers biting inward, surrounding the entire team of agents and ensuring a host of ensuing casualties.

Could this be the end?

Brought here on a mission none of them had signed up for, forever left to wonder if the humanity they knew would survive back home?

“Alright, here we go…!” Despite the dark cloud having a radius of easily a few dozen feet, Kaz was able to control its movements by pushing the orb of light toward the army of enemies, which in turn directed the death storm into making a carnage.

Touching the smoke easily proved itself to be lethal for Count Bleck’s weak minions, who immediately caught on fire and incinerated upon contact. Those who were unlucky got caught in the cloud’s path while those who were able to react in time had no choice but to break formation in order to stay alive.

CRITICAL HIT!

Kazwellor's cyclone of doom SHREDDED through the right flank of enemies, slowly, but surely. Had he not thought to switch to more strenuous spells at the time he did, all of his allies would have been lost here and now! The enemies' plan to fully surround them had been thoroughly dashed, now that a crater in the right flank had been opened up.

With swarms of hostiles rising as ashes into the sunset, the agents had a bit more room to breathe. Looks like they wouldn't have to be desperate enough to engage in deadly close-quarters...yet. Jack now had enough opportunity to properly worry about communication with his allies, which he promptly took advantage of.

That said, the amount of projectiles scattering across the planes was proving to be overwhelming for the comparatively small team. One touch of gas could incapacitate a teammate, and if that happened? Well...they probably wouldn't make it out of this. Not without backup or some kind of miracle, at the very least.

HUNK peered out from behind the boulder, watching the formation change. He stared down the odd skellobit, recognizing that as the commander by its subordinates’ reactions to its chatter.

Maybe it was the enchantment working its magic on Marco, but she was feeling a lot more...daring than usual. She usually wasn't one to take chances like this, prefering to take the option that would steer her clear of the most danger to herself. Her face was a mixture of fear and glee over seeing the enemies around her getting vaporised one-by-one, and in the midst of this fearful glee, she took a glance at her and Arco's "cover-mate", HUNK. Marco had caught a smattering of everyone's face (or lack thereof) on the elevator trip, and this guy...?

'Bad vibes,' she thought bluntly.

She'd met all kinds of weird things throughout the galaxy, and this guy definitely came across as part of the "my job is my religion" crowd. Upon seeing just how quick he was to whip his body around and down these monsters with pinpoint accuracy, it was pretty safe to assume that his "job" had something to do with shooting things until they were dead, if his bug-like armour wasn't enough of a giveaway.

Had Marco had any time to swallow in the midst of blazing holes through targets, she would have.

If someone like this had ever taken her bounty? ...Game over, huh?

Jack now sought to reach up and tap a box-like device on the rightmost side of his helmet. The thing emitted a two-tone beep that only he could hear, but for everyone else with a similarly functioning device, even those at the U.C.A, they'd receive a secure fireteam commlink invitation. The maneuver was half a second, and Jack resumed engaging the hostiles once more.

A green light flashed on Marco's watch, which, even in the middle of a fight, scratched the ol' adventurer's curiosity. Pressing in on the interactive screen, she listened in on what her teammates had to say...

HUNK then heard a small chime on his watch, so he glanced at it and recognized the signal. Accepting it, he immediately said, “Fireteam Maverick, the one with the spike on its head seems to be the commander.” With his off hand, he used the laser sight on his TMP to designate the target. “If your marksman can take the shot, I’ll work on the airborne targets.” He knew killing the commander almost invariably threw most forces into disarray.

Forgoing the pulse rifle for now, HUNK deployed his TMP for the next leg of the plan. He sprayed suppressing fire at the Cherbils and Growmebas, disrupting their flying formations and peppering their ranks with small-caliber bullets at an alarming rate. In his peripheral vision, he could see the ground forces encroaching on his position. It didn’t faze him.

"Soo..the watch even works with devices like that, huh?" Marco pondered aloud into the comms channel as she sidestepped a cloud of chilly gas and took another shot at the Ice Cherbil who had dared to shoot that stuff at her. HUNK was making the work look easy while she was busy doing her best impression of a headless chicken.

"Hellooo?" she called into the watch in a rather passive tone of voice. "Hello-yellooow?"

'I'm not muted on this thing, am I?'
she thought.

As soon as the commlink was accepted, HUNK spoke first; relaying that the sole-spiked entity was most likely a Commander-type. Jack didn't have to acknowledge as Hailey near instantly responded; saying a single, "Engaging," as she placed her M6C/S onto her hip, pulling the anti-material rifle off her back, dialing in and preparing to sending the last round of the magazine into the head of the distanced, spiked foe.

Hailey's finger rested on the trigger, the pressure easing in to click the shot that would ring true and down the enemy commander...

Oh, if only it were that easy.

Hailey would have felt her legs buckle forward as she was sent flying off her feet, landing back-first on the ground and in danger of tumbling down the edge of the elevated perch she and Ellie had set up camp on. The shot that would have sent the enemy into disarray instead sped through the air like a rocket, missing everything entirely.

Aside from some bruises here and there (or more, had Ellie not gotten to Hailey in time to stop her fall), she seemed to be fine. More importantly, though...what caused that?

WHEEERR-R-R-R-R!

If anything could even come close to the sound that had just been made, it would have been that of a record scratch.

Multiple small figures rushed out at a dizzying speed from the bushes the two women had been using as cover for sniping. The women's heightened Spartan reactions were barely enough to register the dozen or so hostiles emerging from the bushes behind them—just enough time to roll off the small cliff and away from the attack rush. What was a little fall compared to getting hit at full speed with several blunt-force blows?

A dozen flashes of green flew off the edge of the cliff and skidded to a stop in a semi-circle just behind the team of agents below, positioned right where they would have been to finish the job had the pincer attack gone according to plan.

The Spinias coiled their springy bodies up for another run. It would be only a second or two before they were ready to ram into the agents ahead of them at full speed, catching them completely unawares. The clamour of battle was loud, and the small enemies had every opportunity to face the forward and side-facing agents of the U.C.A. by surprise from behind if Hailey or Ellie wasn't quick enough to warn the others over comms!

"Agents! This is Cugai. There's an unknown in the area. Be careful of a knight wearing black armor, drapped in a.....a hoodie, or something, I dunno. He's here for something, we don't know if he's on Konahrik's side, but remain cautious. He must be brought back, alive."

Um, excuse me, everyone, this is Kazwellor speaking. I think this is something everyone would like to hear… Uh, my familiar flew overhead and just informed me of the enemy attacking that knight that was mentioned not long ago. I have a feeling that they’re at least not allied with each other.” Lowering his hand, the sorcerer let out a sigh as he continued trying to thaw himself out, ignoring the faster beating of his heart. Oh, how he hated speaking publicly like this...

"Eh? Kazzy, did you have a plan to get through all these little guys before we move onto the knight they're talking about?" Marco asked Kazwellor. "We need a plan not to die he—geez, too close!" she yelped after narrowly missing getting knocked to the ground by a rogue Growmeba. Seizing her opportunity, she used her magically enhanced strength and reflexes to grab hold of the monster before it could fly off the ground and then blasted it into nothingness with her gun.

However, Marco and Arco would feel their strength slowly go back to their regular levels...

Gradually, that sense of warmth and confidence she was filled with began to diminish, and her teeth began chattering a little more erratically this time.

"Huh? Wait, wait. Where'd it go?!" she cried in frantic surprise.

HUNK was blasting the airborne creatures, killing them expediently enough to gain a bit of ground. With each reload, he pulled a fresh magazine from storage. It begged the question, ‘how much ammo did he cram into one pocket dimension?’ With each dodge he performed to avoid the loathsome dive-bombers, he retorted by pistol-whipping them onto the ground and executing them.

Something had to give with the army surrounding the team. HUNK whipped around to cut into the flank not under siege by Kaz’s incendiary cloud. Rather than sweeping the front lines, he emptied the TMP into a line of them, creating a gap in their formation. He then brought his hand up, revealing a grenade. He pulled the pin and hurled it, so it bounced and rolled into the closing alley. An explosion ripped through the skellobit ranks, tearing a hole in the flank that would likely leave the back lines vulnerable for a fleeting moment.

“Cover me!” Was all the agent said as he charged into the gap, removing the load-bearing vest that held several grenades.

Marco's eyes darted toward her boulder-mate, only to find him stripping off his vest to reveal a smorgasbord of grenades underneath then storming the enemy lines like a mad dog. Marco was completely taken aback by soldier-guy's reckless abandon...brave, mad, or both? It's hard to tell with the blood-lusted ones.

Snapping herself out of her momentary dumbfoundedness, Marco squeamishly stepped a few feet out from the cover of the rock and took shots at the enemies that were beginning to surround HUNK ahead.

"Ally, the serious guy's gonna get killed!" Marco yelled behind herself, beckoning Arco to join her suppressing fire.

Ducking under the spear thrusts, he plucked the pins in rapid succession and flung the vest with its pouches open. The grenades slipped from them, tumbling in all different directions before a storm of shrapnel tore through the evil army.

HUNK’s daring move left him close to the back lines. He could see the ranged attackers, who definitely noticed him. With several clubbas and skellobits following him, he grabbed one’s mace and reeled in the foe to act as a meat shield. He twirled with the beast, blocking showers of blows and projectiles while firing upon the rock shooters with his Deagle.

Dozens of Squigs scurried their scraggly legs beneath the vaporising legs of their taller comrades, pelting HUNK's armour with successive THUNK after THUNK. Some of them were getting even closer than rock-firing range...if enough of them started trying to climb up his legs, they'd slow him down and start knocking dents in his helmet directly.

At least a dozen Skellobits were coming within poking range. Five of them walked right up to HUNK behind the handfuls that had just been downed by the Deagle, each surrounding him in a circular formation. Two of them swung low for his legs in opposite directions, while another two swung high at his torso at the same time. The last of them simultaneously thrust forward at his back, the quick stabbing motion coming out much more subtly than the more telegraphed swings of the other four.

The Cherbils and Ice Cherbils, the least affected by the agents' counterattack, noticed the solitary target was boxed into a small area by their allies. Realising this opportunity, the clouds puffed out gas after gas, the fumes slowly making their way into HUNK's confined position. If a hole couldn't be punched through the crowd of Skellobits and Squigs ganging up on HUNK, then he'd have nowhere left to escape the coming gas attack. Even if some of the monsters were caught in the crossfire, and even if HUNK's helmet protected against gas, the ice would be sure to render him unfit for combat.

If Marco had been taken aback before, then she was flabbergasted by all of the ridiculous stunts HUNK was pulling off when encircled by countless foes.

Marco took aim at the larger targets in the crowd, and even after a few misses, she still managed to vaporise two of the Skellobits waiting in the wings for a chance at downing HUNK without the help of Kaz's buffs. She took another step forward, closing one eye to focus the rest of her attention on steadying her aim.

"Hey Ally, do you think—"

Marco's sentence was cut short as she began to smell something...something like......cherries...?

"Do you...think.......you........."

Marco's vision was swamped by an inky blackness.

She let out a wide yawn, and she collapsed onto the dirt.

Unfortunately, Marco had been one of the unlucky ones in this bout. Done in by a little pink mist...she really had put too much stock into that wizard's help, huh?

"Round sen- AH!" The responding transmission to HUNK was abruptly cut off as Hailey was hit by something with enough force to nearly throw the half-ton armored soldier off of the hillside. Ellie dashed forward; nearly piling on top of her to reach out and grab the handhold at the beck of the Spartan's torso as she pulled back. The sudden burst of adrenaline activated Ellie's mutagen, which ensured the sniper was (by Spartan standards) lightly thrown backward and back atop the hillside; rifle and all as the Spartans' shields flared a brilliant pearl-yellow from absorbing the kinetic impacts. The SPI-clad MJOLNIR'd woman near-immediately snapped her aim toward the cluster of green tornado-looking things as she sent a fully automatic burst into their position. She yelled over comms in a low, predatory-sounding growl. "HOSTILES FLANKING BEHIND- WATCH YOUR SPACING."

Spartan-III's as they may be, they both knew when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. As the hostiles overhead became the main threat from their assault, the Spartans that took the frontline approach swiftly pivoted into a distancing sprint. Felix, however, had the advantage as the suit limiters on the MJOLNIR armor disengaged; tripling his speed as he sprinted back over to Hailey and Ellie's position at a brisk thirty-five miles per hour. Disengaging the module and preventing the suit from overheating, he whipped around and slung his grenade rifle across his back; pulling off his M41and hefting the launcher to shoulder level to bring the Smart Link scope to his sights. Except, something strange happened. Despite pointing directly at the cluster of flat-looking hostiles, the lock on diamond deviated from the direction of the crosshair and instead began to drift toward something not too far from their position, and relatively close to them as well. Without even looking to identify, the diamond solidified red in color as a lock-on was achieved; and Felix squeezed the handle in the middle of the shoulder-mounted device.

'PUH-Fffuaah!'

A single rocket fired from the uppermost barrel of the launcher as it automatically rotated to load the second one. The bright orange trail of an M21 102mm high-explosive, shaped-charge, concussive Anti-Personnel Rocket screamed across the air and began to drift toward whatever it was that caught the lock-on signal. Felix wasted no time in looking over toward the two on his right, and then snapping back to glance at his left as swapped out the M41 for the M13. "JACK! Arse over here, NOW!"

Jack, meanwhile, saw Marco go down even as he was about to respond to her rather undisciplined comms use. Entrusting his hermetic seal would've shielded him from the same fate, he radioed once again over the general band. "Advise, we have a friendly down! I say again, friendly is down! Team, pull back and cover; I'm moving to retrieve asset!" Holstering his weapons, the Spartan made a daring sprint from his position of cover over to Marco; wrapping his arms around the young woman as he stood back up and took off in a strafing sprint toward the rear of the battlefield- particularly taking note of the strange-looking green hostiles that appeared to have encircled the allies' flanks- only to be met with the primal-sounding warning of a pissed off Ellie followed by horrific rapports of gunfire. "Stay with me, Ma'am! You're going to be alright!"

"GYAAAAAAGH!!"

O'Chunks flew through the sky like a rocket, and were it not for the fact that most of the agents were busy trying to survive against an onslaught of enemies, some of them might have been able to pick out the meathead imitating a comet.

CRASH

O'Chunks landed face-first in the dirt, blazing a massive trail in the earth as his body skidded right into a tree and knocked the entire thing down on top of himself.

"......Urrrrgghhhh..."

O'Chunks lay still, his head throbbing in pain as he shakily shoved the tree off of himself. He wouldn't have been surprised if he had actually been launched into space and collected a trio of stars that were now circling around his dizzy head. As soon as he sluggishly rose to his feet, he nearly fell back down again.

"I....made a right embarrassment of meself there, didn't I..." he coughed. "I havn't met one as strong as that since..."

Wait, why was he coughing so much now?

After forcing his eyes to open, O'Chunks jumped in surprise to find himself deep in an orange forest.

"Rats! The whole place be burnin'!"

Hahli Nuva Hahli Nuva UltraWagonWheel24 UltraWagonWheel24

Talim entered the burning forest, the look on her face giving way to complete shock. The wind was howling as if it was screaming into her very soul, begging for any sort of peace from the burning inferno.

O'Chunks turned his head towards the small voice, his face crinkling in recoil over the splitting headache he was enduring right now.

"O-oiii..." the giant man stammered, clutching his temple. "'Twasn't my idea, lass.....it was that gold rat in the sky's!"

O'Chunks let out another cough. This air was going to get to him sooner or later, and he needed to skedaddle before the flames spread too far.

Hahli Nuva Hahli Nuva

Talim frowned and searched the sky for any kind of gold rat? Rats couldn't fly. But then again this was a different universe.

"Well we have to do something! And you're going to help me!" the small adorable fighter said firmly, putting her hands on her hips. The smoke was getting thicker. They didn't have much time before everything was burned to cinders. They needed to act now.

"Do you have any ideas on how to stop this without water?" Talim asked. Wind would only make things worse and give the fire something else to feed on, which it clearly didn't need.

O'Chunks crunched his eyelids shut in reaction to the throbbing pain in his head, taking a few seconds to shake it off. Hearing the girl's question, he placed a hand to his chin in thought.

"Eeeeerrrrr......."

He leaned in more, as if doing so would make him think harder.

"Hmmmmmmm...."

It's not like he was the sharpest tool in the shed to begin with, and with a probable concussion mixed in, all that really came to the beefy brawler's head was the mental equivalent of TV static.

"I've got notin', sorry. Listen, lass, ye've gotta git yerself outta here before it's too late! I'll have to do the same!"

Hahli Nuva Hahli Nuva

Talim frowned and sighed again, shaking her head. It appeared this man wasn't exactly all there...

She might not have had time to save the forest, but she could at least save herself. And this overgrown baby too.

Talim pressed a button on her watch to contact the others from the tower she had met. "Hello? Is anyone there? The forest is on fire and I can't stop it! What do I do!?"

"This is Cugai, we're sending in drones as we speak. Get as far away from the flame as possible, and don't let that freakishly large man out of sight. He's an enemy."

From above the forest, a portal opens, two large drones appear, carrying large jugs of water. They lower themselves above the inferno, and with a sprinkler system, start to spray all over the forest, trying to douse the flame.

"Sooooooooo, why didn't we do that earlier?" Callie said, confused.

"Because no one was concerned at the time." Fugai said.

Kazwellor’s eyes quickly darted about the visible battlefield as he took note of everyone’s positions. HUNK was doing an excellent job taking care of the airborne enemies (which Kaz admittedly didn’t put too much attention on) so it allowed him to keep his focus on the grounded hostiles. Keeping his eye on HUNK, the sorcerer got ready to cover him with ranged attacks but some of the other agents already got that covered. “Alright, nice…”, he mumbled to himself, seeing that everything was somehow proceeding smoothly.

‘Status report, status report!’

‘Did you find him, Stroheim?’

‘I sure did! He’s… vell… not moving. Almost lost in his mind. Just like you do sometimes!’

‘... Yeah, sure. Back on track, it’s weird… Maybe he’s concentrating on a spell? Get closer if you can. If you think he’s focusing on something dangerous, interrupt him.’ This order was basically suicide but if it could prevent Konahrik from doing something hazardous, spending an hour meditating to restore Stroheim after his ‘death’ would be worth it.

‘Me dying brings you vay too much joy…’

‘For the love of -stop whining and do it! I can revive you anytime! And I’m pretty certain the entire multiverse won’t be revived so easily if Konahrik has his way!’

‘I know, I know, just messing around, hoo hohoho! Very vell! Suicide bird attack, coming right up!’

With that being done, Kaz returned his full focus to the battlefield and smiled in satisfaction at seeing his spell do so much work. That would allow the rest of the team some space to breathe and take care of the main baddies. He could feel the incendiary cloud spell would dispel on its own soon. A bit of a shame since it was definitely effective but most of the work has been done so no big loss; he could settle on using his weaker spells for the remainder of the battle. He did still have some tricks up his sleeve in case a stronger enemy engaged him out of nowhere so he’d rather save up some power.

A powerful impact to his side broke the mage out of his train of thought. The surprise was such that he almost lost concentration on the cloud of death but he fortunately managed to keep hold of it. Wincing at the pain to his ribs, he whipped his head to his right, where he saw a small squadron of surviving squigs, some of which had managed to hit him. “Ow…”, he mumbled to himself. He had started to get a little cocky and that was the price for it -while the Mage Armor prevented him from going down too easily, the pain was still there and it wasn’t a sensation he wanted to feel too many times. Keeping an eye on the sky so as not to get caught again by a cherbil, he started blasting away at the squigs and squogs he could see with arcane bolts.

Quickly reacting at the Spartans’ warning of new enemies, the sorcerer quickly whipped his head behind him, noticing the strange new monsters. “What’s... with those spring-like creatu-Whoa! Okay, fair enough-!” Kazwellor quickly moved backward when he noticed a small group of spinias charging at him. It was close but he managed to duck out of the way just in time before getting hit. Biting his lips, he switched targets and now fired at the spinias close-by. “This is getting ridiculous…!”

The mage’s eyes widened at the notification of Marco going down. ‘Damn it…! Is it because I lost concentration on the buff…? Stroheim, what’s your status? We may have to change plans, Marco’s down!’

While the spinias were making their appearances, Stroheim had been flying in circles above Konahrik, trying to get an idea of what he was doing. There was no way someone, especially the enemy leader, would simply space out in the middle of the battle, right? … Right? The raven idled for a few moments, just in case the Dragonborn somehow noticed him but got ready to charge downward, only to be interrupted by another telepathic message from his master. ‘Huh? Ze young lady’s down? Bah, vat a pity! She isn’t fit to be on a battlefield anyvay!’ Despite his mocking, the familiar still took a moment to look around, finally spotting Jack sprinting toward the downed girl. ‘Not to vorry, an armored humanoid got her! Back to my mission now! And stop interrupting me, I vas getting at ze good part!’

Letting out a cackle, the raven dove down until he was a few feet away from Konahrik. “Ohhh hohoho! Vell vould you look at zat! Ze famous bad guy who vants to destroy everyzing! Not too original if you ask me! Just in my universe alone, zere vas a few who vanted zis to happen! How about you go back to ze draving board, you uninspired copycat!” Stroheim cackled as he flew around the Dragonborn like a vulture, mocking him to see how he would react.

Talim nodded, looking at the big round man. She had to keep him here? But how? He could flatten her just by walking! Maybe she didn't have to. Maybe the wind could do it for her. With the fires being taken care of, Talim had more time to focus on her current mission.

She summoned her tonfas again and faced her bounty. "Don't go anywhere, please! Stay here with me! You're a criminal and must face justice!"

Konahrik sat in silence for a moment, his head was still lowered. At first his hands seemed to shake, as if he were in fear of something. They stopped, however, when an annoyance came drilling into his ear. His head slowly lifts, looking toward the sky at the avians mocking tone.

“I, too, have seen, even battled entities that wished to destroy everything. They failed, of course. Every damn one, always wanted something, willing to slaughter even those close to them. I do not do this for no reason. You will never understand my reasons, bird. Tell your master, from an Orsimer, to a half blood Mer, that the nightmare has only begun….and…”

He clenches his fist, electricity being formed.

“The old man is dying in the barn. You don’t want to know what happens when he does.”

He then throws his hand into the sky, lightning being fired from his hand.

Cugai slammed his fist onto the dashboard, cursing under his breath. "We got a man down."

"Actually, she's a girl." Fugai corrected.

"We gotta send some drones." Cugai picks up the phone. "Balalaika, send in more- Wait, she's on vacation.... Damn it, send in the drones."

A portal opened, a large white drone flew in, occupied by two smaller ones. The two started to fly around the area as the bigger one descended toward Marco. That was, until a yellow blur flew right into it, causing it to explode.

"Damn it!" Cugai shouted. "Those aren't cheep!"

"We have more-" Fugai said, before being interrupted.

"Wait, look." From the monitor, the drone can see a small glimpse inside of the barn. There they can see an elderly man, he's covered in a white blanket, and looks sick. On the verge of death even.

"...CiMos, can you see if you can find the history of the universe?" Cugai said.

It took no more then a few seconds for CiMos to rebuild what it could of the Universe before it's demise. As shown, the old man was once a wealthy billionare, who's massive company had created weapons of mass destruction. In his old age, he isolated himself to the very barn, with only the plants around it to keep him alive. Eventually, the world was clouded in a never ending snowstorm, leaving him to create a machine that let the sun shine over his garden.

He was, and still is, the only thing that kept the Universe from being devoured by the Black Void, until he grew too sick to stop the last of Earth's plants from dying.

"So, Konahrik must of kept him alive...just so we could have a battlefield." Cugai said.

"And if that old miser kicks the bucket...." Fugai's eyes widen "Oh no...."

HUNK felt a sharp pain as one of the spears jabbed his leg. He threw the Clubba into the dwindling line of skellobits and raised the pulse rifle to shoot through it. He bombarded them to make some space, then pummeled them with the four grenade rounds to hopefully finish the job.

Swapping back to his Deagle and knife once again, he then rushed the remaining Squigs, lurching to the side with each rock fired at him. The mild leg injury reduced his dodging ability, so what he couldn’t avoid smacked against his Kevlar. The magnum proved essential in his raid of the back lines.

While floating about on her patrol, Storm checked in via her watch. “Storm reporting. All clear so far. How is the away team doing, if I might ask?” She didn’t suspect they were being waylaid by flying enemies, or that they had made a grave discovery.

Fugai was the first to awnser. "Uuuuuuh, everything's going alright, we think"

Cugai bumped in. "They're in danger if they don't get back to base, there's an old man that's dying in that universe, and once he dies it's going to plummet into the Black Void and get eaten."

Fleetway slammed his feet onto the ground, panting as he watches Raditz slowly descend toward the hedgehog. Then, from behind the two, Goret falls face first into the ground, before getting up again.

"Where the hell have you been?!" Fleetway asked, angrly.

"Having a blast." Goret said, turning over to Fleetway. "How about you?"

"Uuuuhh, we're here to kill these guys, remember?" Fleetway said.

"Doesn't mean we can't have a little fun with them." Goret smiled, floating back into the air. "I'll kill the old man and his father when I get board."

Fleetway and Raditz watch as the Saiyan flies back into battle, puzzled.

Storm perked up upon hearing the administrators’ grave news. “Then we must pull our team to safety!” she responded. “Extraction should take less than three minutes. Do I have access to the portal there?” She approached the elevator entrance, limbering up for a brief fight.

"We'll do you one even better. We'll open it for you right now!" All of a sudden, a portal to the area opens in front of Storm. "Good luck, the only baddie that's not occupied is Konahrik, and I dunno if he'll like the newcomer."

STORM is being summoned to the battlefield!!!

With the portal open right in front of her, Storm gave one last transmission via her watch. “Away team, the world is about to be consumed. Prepare for extraction; T-minus three minutes!”

Electricity surged from around the edges of the portal before Storm emerged from it. She immediately assessed the threats; most of the ground forces were gone, but the sky was full of flying foes making the away team’s efforts a nightmare. The clouds in the dark sky thickened and churned. Lightning danced among them, and rain soon fell with increasing force. The superhero then raised her hands high and declared, “I summon the full power of the storm!” With a crash of thunder, the wind picked up, making flight difficult for the adversaries dive-bombing her allies.

Then came the lightning strikes; one billion joules of energy fried the growmebas and cherbils one-by-one, starting with the highest-flying ones. “Keep it orderly! Wounded and unconscious first!” she instructed in-between the claps of thunder. Heeding the warnings, she kept watch in case someone moved to intercept.
